A charr does not simply become a sylvari.
An asura does not suddenly become a norn.
Really, it would make no sense at all to change the race. Wanna play the other stories? Wanna get all the cultural sets for that achievement? Wanna try the other racial skills? Make a new character! Seriously. It is not like you have to do all the same things again… not entirely anyway. And all the things you’ve done on your main? Well they do not go away, still there. Unless you are stupid enough to delete it.

Some kind of Guild Halls should be added, having costumisation beyond what we had in GW1… like not just chooseing the place, but what goes in there. Sounds really cool.

Well, my main character is still a member of the priory. Sure she is the commander of the pact (Trehearne is still the leader, not you) but all in all she is priory, yes she would look good in whispers armor… but then she should have chosen that back when she had the chance.

That said… pls pls pls Anet… no more longcoats for medium armor, they are cool an all, but we clearly want more choices. Give us more variety, also more variety for light and heavy. How come it is medium armor where it is hardest to find a set that shows a little skin? Will my sylvari ever be able to show her glowing back without stripping naked or go about in her townsclothes.

So, I am not sure about changing the orders things. But I am all for more varity for everyone.

Players fighting against what? I think ingame poll sounds good. Better than forum poll, because way more people would miss the forum poll than ingame poll.
So yes if they should do something like this, it should be in game thing imo.

We already got a few ranged pets… as already mentioned.
Devourers and… some spiders. Not all spiders are, but I know at least one of them is.
Wouldn’t hurt to have more pets I guess, although we already have quite a few.
I don’t really wanna see gorilla or monkey… or hedgehog.
But a ranged drake… why not… Anet seems to like drakes.

I think it is as… they are not dead (god forbid my pets die) but rather “downed”. They have taken so much damage they are unable to fight and thus return to their master, untill healed.

I cannot say anything about the res thing, so will stay out of that one.
But.
Stay away from rally, that is one of the best parts of the game.

And they would have to make something similar for the other races, considering only humans have the gods.

There is no lies in the promotion of it. Just a misunderstanding on your behalf. Unfortunately there is no saving the banker once you used it the first time. However… you will get one on every new character you make. All your characters will also get that accessory thing.

You were not cheated, you got what you payed for and was promised to get. You just… misunderstood what it was about.

Btw… can you link that video you speak of? Because I’ve seen all the videos Anet made for us… never seen a mini fight.

I found sPvP and WvW quite noob friendly… cause I am a noob in PvP, hated it in GW1 besides Alliance Battles. In WvW just join a zerg, stay on the backline, you will be relatively safe. .
sPvP is harder, but it is basicly capping points.

Anywho, a Fort Aspenwood style PvP format would not hurt anyone. It could be enjoyable.

My guild is EU guild so it is not relevant. However thought I would let you know there is subforum for guilds, wether you are one looking to join one or a guild looking for members. Just a warning so you know… it will be moved or deleted. Likely just moved to the correct subforum.

Lets see…

It can be hard to get a team for Fractals lvl 1, but it is not impossible. Eventually you will get the team that carry you on to the next lvl. I have not completed the swamp either btw. it is not the same fractals you get to everytime, so you should be able to advance without getting there… if you are lucky.

You actually complain that you own all the kitten in WvWvW? It resets from time to time, at some point during the week you will be able to meet resistance I am sure… or as others said move server, although I get the point that you don’t know them. You would only be stuck there for a week though if it wasn’t what you wanted.

There is still things to do, fun things. Only the definition of fun varies and how people wanna play is different. If you are bored maybe take a break? Taking a break is a viable option here you know. Just keep an eye on what new things happen and see if it something you would enjoy doing, or eventually you will feel like doing some things again. I know that if I stopped finding the game entertaining I would take a break… not leave, just… take a break.

To the others. Nothing is mandatory in the game. You can play your way. The “certain gear is mandatory” is all in the heads of people that actually care about that kitten.
Yes there might be a small advantage… a really small one. If it is important to you it is important to you. But it isn’t really mandatory, you can play WvWvW with your low level characters and still do okay, afterall it is not the 1v1 fights that decide anything there.

People seriously need to start doing things they actually enjoy in the game, rather than do what they think they need to do.
Then again play your way. If you think it is important, you think it is, and you will do what you think needs to be done to get that, I wont stop you.

But the costume brawl is awesome, and I like that that there is a difference to costumes and armor… have costumes basicly become an armor skin… why.

Would say it is the lighting too.

I actually like the way it is right now. Would like the options to townsclothes/costumes automaticly show in towns and automaticly go back to armor outside of the towns.

Profession should not affect the look of your character (other than wether you can wear light, medium or heavy armor) so no idea what it is you are talking about.

It seems to me the OP wants to be able to click on said items in the achievement area that would put them in the PS area so as he completed each part it would get a check mark or not be visible. Which would keep him from having to look back and forth. You would not need to apply them if you did not want to, thus your PS area would be clean.

Still don’t see how it is that hard to check how far you are in daily as it is. But as an optional thing you can add up there when you log in. Sure go for it.

My comment was more of a fear of it getting added there automaticly as all of it is currently, you have no control over what show there atm. And if achievements should be there too, eventually it would be too much.

But optional at log in to add there, saying now I wanna do this. I am cool with that.

This is not so much a problem with the game, as it is a problem with people. All in all Fractals have hit the community bad and split it up in some ways.
I get that people that have already done certain levels of the dungeon want to still proceed further. I also get that some people get desperate in getting just the low levels of it.

Perhaps this could also help those at lower level fractals? To identify those that are also still there? Perhaps it could be benefitting for most people.

There is a reason that ele cannot swap weapons… because with the atunement they got more skills than everyone else, even with only one weapon.

And be able to use light armor on medium class or such? I am sorry, but it would stay soulbound to the character that no longer exists… at least I am like 99% sure of that.

You will be missed (or not). Open world PvP would ruin this game.

More PvP maps sure, more variety to PvP sure.

Yes pls. for Storymode to be doable without a team. I mean… I did actually get lucky and have fun throughout it. What sucked for me was, that I felt that MY story, in the very end, with the fight against Zhaitan just…. wasn’t my story. Most dungeons it was one of the other players talking to Zojja, Caithe and the lot.
Which was alright I guess…. untill the story of the dungeons and MY personal story merged and I could not get to be the main character in my own story in that last mission.

But yes… obviously explorable mode should stay the way it is. Perhaps with more options to team, with those that are not obssessed with gear stats and what not.

I think there should be medium armors that show some skin (just want to show the bioglow on my sylvari’s back. And ofc. there should be light armors that cover you up.

I am not sure that the solution is to let females wear male armor. But they really really should add more variety for each armor class. Some more medium armor that isn’t a longcoat and tights. (like enough of those already). Some more light armor that isn’t cheerleader uniforms as you say.

Make a medium armor class female… can’t find a set that shows much skin even if you want to. (sorry for unconstructive comment)

So they should change the look of some armor sets that there is likely many people that love, to make someone else happy? You gotta be kidding. Changing the look of current sets would be stupid.
Give it time maybe… eventually more armorsets will be added. Find the one set you like. Use transmutation stones.

Since I am going to level many more characters it is not something I would do… yet… I think.
But I don’t see a reason to be against this. So yeah. Sounds fine.

I do not see any harm in fishing being added though, we do have fishermen around the world, but we cannot get fish meat or cook anything with fish ourselves?

Personally I would actually be happy if fishies killed would drop fish meat like we get poultry and red meat. Also why do we have crab meat but all we can do with is sell it as junk?

Wether it is killing them fishies when we swim around and get meat that way or fishing is more or less irrellevant for me.

Sylvari primarily use celtic, welsh, irish and such kinda names. Seems the usually only have one name.

Norn use scandinavian type names, some with the old naming convention for surnames saying daughter or son of. Like Olafsdottir and Odinsson. They can also use title/quality after their firstname.

Asura usually only have one short name. Often with a double letter in the middle. Female names tend to end on wovel (a or e) male names on a consonant sounds. Zojja, Snaff. Some asura will ofc. take a title on them, preferably something that reflects their intellect.

Charr gennerally have some kind of surname, either something reflecting their warband or some kind of title. The warband name is a connection of two words. A charr with Fierceheart as surname will eithe be in Fierce warband or Heart warband. if it is Heart warband another charr in that warband would have to use something then heart like the first one, such as Cutheart.

Human use… humanish names… sorry not really sure there is anymore specification on that.

Kodan have names like Farthes Shore, Watchful Moon etc. it seems like it is meant to describe something about them.

@Starlightpaw The only penalty for dying in WvW is the time it takes you to get back to the battle. If that was not there battles would be much longer and possibly deadlocked.

I have been thinking about making a suggestion like this for some time. I don’t switch pets that often, but I still would like all of them to keep the names I give them.

I don’t know… the cultural armors is one of few things to differentiate the races. The very point is to be unique to the race. I am sorry, but I don’t really want to support this although I can understand the motive.

GW2 is NOT a PvP game. GW1 was NOT a PvP game. Perhaps sometime years ago when GW1 was born it was its intention. I don’t know… I was not there from the begining.

GW1 developed to be amaizing both in PvE and PvP. A lot of GW1 players never once played PvP (never mind that it was impossible to get into PvP in the later stages of the game because anyone new would be hated on imensely).

GW2 was from the begining meant to follow the idea of being both PvE and PvP. Anet said that. And it is quite obvious with the amount of PvE content that it is not just a PvP game.
You should not complain about the game getting PvE content… or you can… but it will be a waste of time. GW2 is also very much a PvE game and if you thought otherwise it is your own mistake.

That said. Yes. PvP should get attention too. I know a lot of people want to PvP and possibly only PvP (Just like there is a lot of people that want PvE and only PvE). There should be content for both PvP and PvE.

There are even people that play both modes and like both modes gasp

This is a game, it is for the sparetime fun. (Yes fun is relative). Not a job. I don’t think the gearprogression in itself is the problem (as such). But that it seems to contradict what Anet said they would do prerelease. If Anet had not said those things, people would not complain… or less people would complain.
Saying it has to be there to make a good MMO? I do not believe that. I myself do not have much of an opinion on the matter (I am the uncritical fan that gets “Anet can never do anything wrong” or quickly forgets I was against something in the first place once it is there). I think those that complain have a point, but they are… some of them are… a bit aggressive about it, which is not really constructive. I hope in the future Anet will keep to not making gear better and better and harder and harder to get. Skins is all the motivation needed. In GW1 (yes I know GW1 was a Co-Operative Online Game, and not really an MMO and a different game to GW2) getting those rare skins… even those that were not really not that nice, just rare, was something people wanted to work for, wanted to pay for. They were not better. A max damage weapon was max damage no matter if it had the most common boring and cheap skin in all of Tyria or the rarest of them all. Don’t underestimate the value of vanity items.

I think getting max stat gear should be reasonably easy to get for everyone. I think certain skins should be very hard to get. I think that everywhere should be accessable regardless of profession. The last thing here is a more of a player thing… because some people seem to have convinced themselves and others that certain professions are needed to succeed with a team… guess what… it doesn’t really matter.

I think you are mixing jumping puzzles with vistas.
Jumping Puzzles are longer, has a chest and an achievement at the end, and is not required to finish the map.
Vistas can have elements of puzzles, with some tricky jumping, but all you get is the vista… no chest, no achievement. Vistas are indeed required for map completion.

Anyways… a formality, and I agree that some vistas are a pain. But they wont go away. (Nor should they, many people love them and want more) Find a mesmer to help you maybe?

I have a shark of that species, at least Cuddles have been following me up land a few times in the past. Maybe he just don’t like being alone with Sushi, my armor fish… Sushi is a bit… well… yeah…. it’s not his fault…. honestly… I guess he just… hatched that way.

Like lookitsandrea said. This event will be more compareable with Halloween than Lost Shores. I am certain the Christmas event (which is called Wintersday in GW) will be fun… for the most of us. Ofc. there will be people complaining… there always is.

1. Considering it was called Wintersday in GW1, it would be much more appropriate to call it that again.
2. More skins are very likely, and would be loved. Make them drops or something, might be better than that game of chance they been running. But then I was not one of those that cared that much.

4. Very specific on the minis there… we will get some, and those would be… decent.

What I want:
A. Give good lore reasons for the other races to celebrate wintersday. Back in GW1 norn were already showing intrest. Expand on that.
B. Again with the lore. Explain how the event changed from being the fight between Grenth and Dwayna to something else.
C. Would love to see other places than Lions Arch decorated.

You are really exaggerating the problem (note I am not denying that there is some degree of a problem here).

You were not the only one that didn’t know where to go at all times, but most seemed to do. It is unfortunate that people on the map was not nicer at pointing it out to you, unfortunately some people just don’t care about others. However there were ways to know, Anet had event site up, there was updates here on the forum and there was the wiki page. I was confused too and maybe Anet can do that a tad better next time. But yeah not thaat big a problem.

A FEW people got lucky and got precursors, most got less epic loot. So it is hardly everyone that suddenly sit on a 100g. I don’t even know anyone that do. So relax a bit. You are really not as behind as you think.

I can sympathize a bit with the low fps and the decition to leave the event, but… that does not change that it was your choice. I’ve played dragon events and WvWvW with the fps at 2. So honestly, 8 does not seem like something that would make it impossible, friend of mine completed it at around that I think. (He did not get precursor btw, some decent loot, but nothing of that epic proportions)

As for the dungeon, you worry waaaaaaaay too much about getting left behind. People still run level 1 fractals. There will likely always be people for that. Why am I sure there will be people for it at all times? Because the game gets new people, because some people play new character, because some people… are actually nice and don’t mind helping.

You choose your playstyle. You choose if you stay or leave. If your playstyle cause you stress and worry… maybe you chose the wrong style.

I got kicked from the game and could not log back in although I wanted to participate (regardless of lag and without knowing the reward). I aint gonna complain. I know Anet is already looking into it, and if they don’t find a solution… well at least they tried and hopefully learned from the mistakes of this event. Had I chosen to leave… it would be all me. I would know that. And I would accept that I made a choice that made me miss out on a small chance of somthing nice.

So yeah… you do have a few good points here, but you also exaggerate some of those problems…. quite a bit.
