Although I am certain this works well, I wanna say walls can be helpful.
Best team I got on we had walls up around the dolyaks at all times and we made both ballista and catapults on the outer circle while also fighting some of the toys. Guildie of mine also got his achievement that way with his team. It is easy too really… as long as at least some of the team does it.
Non of the stuff you can build is worthless… just depends on how it is used and perhaps on the team.
There never was a 25th event in GW1… it was always at newyears night (early 1st january morning here) and then a 24 hour run.
Well, I mean, one of those two sylvari under the bridge in LA had a sense of lust for a norn male:
“did you see what she was wearing?”
“i was to busy looking at, him”
I don’t think that is lust… you know you can say things like that and be excited, amazed, impressed etc. with others and how they look without it being anything like attraction or lust…
Maybe consider it this way. Most animals never mate with anything outside of their own species and in most cases not even within the different branches of the same species. It is not a choice or concious… they just… dont.
Dolphin pet yes please. Kinda bugs me that we get 2 jellies (3 if you got HoM), then a shark (awesome) and a kinda ugly armor fish.
I know there’s all the pets that go both land and water, but would like more just aquatic animals. Like the dolphin.
Would also love a stingray. Perhaps one of those cool looking electric fish around the game.
It never bothered me. Fits my charr perfectly. But I guess my charr does look quite small and young compared to many other charr.
Longbow is good.
I also quite like sword + warhorn.
Atm I am starting to like double axes.
Seriously though… it is a matter of taste and how you like to play. You will get as many different answers from this as the ranger have weapons avaiable.
I think she is just hinting that you both might die and she then lost her chance for finding love.
Regardless of the possibility of interracial relationships it will be without ever getting babies, since Anet supposedly have stated at some point that reproduction between races is impossible.
I have no desire to join the nightmare. The Pale Tree is not controling me, merely trying to guide my step, it is my choice if I will follow this direction. The nightmare court are but spoiled children, lead astray and lost.
Their acts are cruel and not only against the mother and Ventari, but against the good of life.
Sounds odd… I made the Ventari toy, so should be working I believe. You have the glue and cogs and that in inventory right? Stupid question I know as you already made a toy… but honestly cannot think of why it wouldn’t work. Bug maybe?
Where do you get the young fem quaggans being pink from? Not seen that anywhere.
Simply put, the grave thing was and is just a theory. A very popular theory that is.
Seeing it is only a theory, there could infact be other reasons for the humanesque look of the sylvari, which could possibly explain other pale trees doing the same.
So I think the real answer to why sylvari has humanish characteristics is…. we don’t know.
The ogres are better suggestion/likeability than kodan, skritt or whatever else been suggested (aside from tengu, tengu is a must and will likely happen). Perhaps a bit too primitive, and I don’t see all that much customisation in them at this time.
We also have groups/individuals of quaggan, skritt, hylek, tengu and such. Being around LA means little in this regard if you ask me.
So yeah atm I find it… not the most likely. But it seems better than certain other races that have been suggested.
Edit: @Anymras: there are more differences to male female charr if you look more carefully, they are infact pretty easy to distinct from eachother. I think asura look more same same than charr does, and they are still have distinctions in the way they look.

I got much worse items from chest today too. Was in full team both times so it aint that. Just… luck of the draw… or lack there off
I don’t get all the naysayers.
No one is asking for current sets to be changed (at least that is not my impression or my want), but rather more options added.
Putting up light armor have tons of skimpy is not really helping for those that play medium or heave (particular for medium which seem to be lacking options the most).
You clearly already got what you like (maybe except for some of the light users) why not give others what they like too?
I see some talk about inequality of male and female sets. I think most here agree that more options for both is win/win.
Not everyone that is asking to show skin is asking for it for the sexiness (which I agree can be argueable in cases). Some (like me) just really wanna appreciate the glow of the sylvari (back not belly, belly aint glowing), the furpattern of the charr, tattoos of the norn and skinpatterns of the asura. We spend time making these things and we to see it.
More options is good right.
What is it with you guys automaticly thinking that only (other) guys wants the skimpiness? Dudes, some girls like the skimpy too.
I would never wear those things in real life, but I love it on my toon, cause hell… she got the body for it and she is so adorable.
You will likely find that some of the skimpy sets are infact designed by female designers, not teenage boys -_-
No one wants exclusively one or the other in the game either. Just want to options. And atm there is a grand total of 1 option for medium armor sylvari (think there is some cultural armor for norn and human). Personally I am not even asking for like… super skimpy, just want to show that amaizing glow on her back. Not quite fair that only heavy armor and light armor sylvari can show that glow. Well aside from one set. ONE!
Light armor = almost only skimpy sets for females
That’s not really so IMO. Unless your definition of skimpy is very broad, the balance between skimpy and more modest light armour is pretty close to 50/50.
Well not played light armor class much yet so I admit I can be mistaken here. Just see people that do play light classes complain about it.
In that case…. just give medium armor that same balance.
Light armor = almost only skimpy sets for females
Medium armor = all trenchcoats and nearly no skimpyness to choose from (aside from from a some human and norn cultural)
Heavy armor = most sets are actual armor looking but some skimpy options are there.
As a sylvari ranger I am rather sad that there is like… ONE option in the entire game for me to get something that shows the glow on my back. I have this amaizing glow but pretty much never get to see it.
My conclusion:
Some more covering sets for the light armor people.
Some more skimpy sets for the medium armor people.
Possibly a bit more of both for heavy armor people.
And make both options for males too. Male sylvari got glowy backs too
I chose the shield thing, the quest was there alright for me only you only see the shield like once.
As for the accountwide bank… we do have that. Had that since the begining.
However a keeper of hats and costumes… sure would love that. actually adding a new section of storage below the normal bank and the collectibles having a seperate one for costumes and hats would be coolness.
Small piece going with townsclothes/costumes (like the broom for the witch costume goes into toy slot). Stuffed toys anyone? Teddybear with super teddy skills for the brawling?
Mini pets. Minis are toys for our characters and they always were, so although a bit overly optimistic perhaps, it could theoreticly be minis.
Oh kitten not another timer timed one :I
I like a challenge and all, but that the only way to make it a challenge is timed… meh.
Well hopefully not quite as stressful a timer as Clock Tower. Will ofc. try.
Good luck peoples.

You want a quiver? Make one.
Thanks for that link, will definitely make one of those quiver backitems. Also got my eye on some of the weapons.
Sorry for the offtopic comment.
Expect more areas to be accessable in the future some day.
This topic is hardly new. Been up more than once before.
As Chorel says…. don’t see it happening. Think Anet actually did respond to one of the topics with a no of sorts. Not entirely sure and not sure where it would be. I guess that is what search is for… where you can see previous topics of the same thing and see of Anet said anything.
I don’t understand them in PvE, but then I don’t really care. A friend of mine that just got the game saw one in Queensdale and had no idea what it was though. Thought it was an event he should go to. So I guess it can confuse new players.
There is noting bovine about them… at all. Some of the horns could be bull…ish, but most of them show much different variety. The horns is just there to make them seem more fierce and… hellish.
As already mentioned the black citadel was built after the time of GW1 and before GW2 ofc. So it is no crashed craft.
Is it possible they came form space/themists. Could be. We do know that other races (or at least humans) were brought from somewhere else. Personally I find it interesting that what for us naturally seem like the least alien race, may be the actual aliens of the planet called Tyria. Or was, they been there for an awfully long time now.
I would love this too, but it aint gonna happen. Only select places tend to be decorated.
Yes. Seriously it is a game not real life. Killing stuffs is part of this game. Would be pretty bad outside of gaming.
Pretty sure there are no killing in the jump puzzle. Thus far we don’t know what the event will be for each city. Toypocalypse sounds like killing… toys may happen.
I just want to say, I don’t see anyone asking for 0 challenge as some seem to think.
I for one do like a challenge, I like jumping puzzles that provide a challenge of some sort. What I hate. Really really hate. Is them being timed. Timing is not the only way to make it a challenge. Any other way to make it challenging is cool with me.
Is it timed, well then I will try it, do my best. But likely wont be able to complete it. I will be frustrated and annoyed, but will not whine. It is what it is and I don’t have to be able to complete every single aspect of the game to enjoy it.
Don’t think different modes of the puzzles is that good an idea, they are optional content as they are and there are tons of other achievements. Not being able to get all achievements is what it is.
Btw loved the Dark Reverie. It was a challenge without being timed. I also spend some hours at the bottom there farming the courtier and never felt more appreciated by other players lol
The description says test your balance….icy, slippery platforms? Ugh, that would suck! I just hope it isn’t wind like in Cliffside, I hate wind! lol
Rather have that, than moving platforms and a stressfull timer ala clocktower. I love a challenge, but I prefer having time to it.
I played GW1 for a very long time too (over 5 years) and I think this new wintersday sounds brilliant.
It was obvious it would have to be different, the gods are gone, the other races have taken in the celebration too. Or they may have had variations of it that we didn’t know of before, just like Scandinavian countries had a sort “yule” celebration of the returning light, before becoming christned. Modern Christmas is really a mishmash of different traditions from different countries anyway. And we still celebrate it in different ways still depending where we are from.
Things changes in 250 years, simple as that.
And what is this thing with asura not being nice. Sure it is not what most asura is. Most asura may be arrogant, genious, menaces. But they are capable of being nice. Professor Gorr is nice. That asura in Ghosts of Ascalon was nice. Just saying.
I really hope they are costumes (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Costume), but I think they will be town clothes -.-
Townclothes = GW2 costumes. Basicly the same thing but functioning slightly differently.
Personally I like how it works atm, but would like more reasons to show off townsclothes/costumes. And pls oh pls the option to toggle it so you can automaticly show townsclothes when entering any of the 6 cities.
I guess we will be able to get those as townsclothes/costumes too.
Sorry no trinity in this game. That also means no dedicated healer.
Wintersday will work more like Halloween did I think. No reason to think it will be like Lost Shores. And the 24hour run of the last phases of Halloween is a good way to do it. 24 hours should make it possible for everyone to go at least once, and once really is enough to experience the thing.
If it has moving platforms and rely heavily on speed/timing I am gonna hate it. I love puzzles, but puzzles that stress me because of movement and the need for speed are not fun. At least not to me. It is fine to have them in the game, but not so much for events.
As much as I actually like the personal story (yes some people do like it) I think DE story would be better choice for a movie. Better maybe… a story about another group of adventurous people banding together, like Ghosts of Ascalon. Doesn’t have to be in direct relations to our story imo. Could tell something about something happening pre-game story, or post game story. Imo a more independant story like that would be the best choice.
Despite the risks of it becoming a low quality movie… I would watch it yes.
I can relate to this.
I am on my second alt character, my alts that I play only to get more aspects of the story. I wont even complete the entire thing as such, just to the point where things merge. For the last 2 it will only be the actual racial bit.
So where I on my main want to experience it all, and already did… almost. On my alts having to do so much leveling is tedious.
Some kinda solution would be nice.
Simple… they are not that good friends… yet.
And I wouldn’t classify asura as 23rd century. It is not scifi modernish rl tech. It is MAGICtech. It is golems not robots, Anet have them have what we see as robotic qualities in the way they talk and stuff, but they are definitely golems which fused with magic to live not tech. Their “lazers” are magic.
I think the thin necks are fine. It is just…. asura to have thin necks. They had mostly thin necks in GW1 too. More options wouldn’t hurt I guess, but don’t be away with what makes asura… well… asura.
Attended/no loot/no mail
Still got nothing
Patience… you are not the only that haven’t gotten anything yet. They did say it would take some time to get out to all. If I haven’t gotten anything within say… 10-15 hours I will start worry about not getting anything.
Nothing yet
The pet does do a few idle animations. At least my Fern Hound and Alpine Wolf does. Mostly just yawn and sit, but ye, there is at least some.
I would be cool with more animations for them.
Downed state is good and it is a great core mechanic… it aint gonna go away. I like the differences in skills from the professions too.
We do have dance… which is race specific…
I am pretty sure a lot of those will make it in eventually. Tried typing them in? If there is not coming a unknown emote message, chances are it is already intended to be added, as that was also how /dance acted in the beta.
I am tired of being kicked while I am typing. I also find it annoying to try and RP with someone who is AFK. At least add a way to indicate that a char is AFK.
This message was brought to you by a Kitten with a Keyboard
Ask them to change status to away. Pretty sure you can change your status in game as offline and away… possibly even busy. I usually log out rather than afk though, so not 100% sure of this. But should be in the friends window.
No.
The reason skritt wont do as playable is not their size, their size is fine really. It is the hivemind thing… a single skritt is simply too dumb to be a hero. And playing with a group… don’t see it happening.
I honestly think what was hiding underground have already emerged… destroyers down there now. We also already got an underground race with deep mining culture (dredge). The addition to lore to justify such a new race, would imo risk of seeming too forced.
I am not against the addition of never before known races to appear in the future, but rather see them on new continents.
However there are perfectly viable options for playable races among those we already know… or at least one. Tengu should definitely be the next playable one.
I know a lot of people want kodan, but that as I see it would mean a rewamp of what kodan is, which may not be overly desireable at this stage of the game.
