it would be awesome , yes the map can be hard for new people/unexperienced/unskilled players , thats why i train with guildies in hotjoins do some solo arena then go Tpvp for our Pvp events adding skyhammer would be a nice Addition.

actually I never even got to do much to the warrior. couple aa and rapid fire and he was letting the point go. They were upgrading swt/swc and all I could do was kill their yaks and that sentry ;-(

after he ran back into his max camp, i ran around and up the hill to over look camp and he was standing on that roof watching me. I did a look around back towards tower and there is that silver thief dropping SR at the base of the hill I was on. So I ran for bay cause at that point I didn’t realize how bad the thief was being silver rank and all. If I didn’t think the warrior was gonna come around and help the thief I might have stayed then and there but people are bloodthirsty. No problem dying 1v1 but lol not gonna get my face kicked in by 2 for +5 bloodlust.

oh and less im mistaken sentries hold no value for points. ;-)

1pt for the guard for the score, if there is a dolyak near and that dies too , that gives 1pt.
pretty silly they should offer more insentive to get people to fight for a Sentry for Roamers , people run because its not worth wasting the time over 2 pts.

who ever wrote that Review of the Ready up Twisted the words not anet or Poorly worded it as too many lbs .

how people are relating that sentence with Nurfs ! it gives no grounds for it, so what there were too many Lb users to start with , now they are putting a animation on PBS some or many of the Band wagoners will go back to there mains or Try somthing different after they get Owned a few times.

It doesn’t really fix the issue with PBS. It is too spammable and hurts teams far more than it helps.

it may have 15sec cooldown and only a bad Ranger would Spam it.

it will only hurt teams from Poor use , and if you use the common Dam you ranger i can’t hit it now you pushed him back , is just greedy team play you’ll never be a good team if you think this way.

learning to work with a Good ranger is worth its weight in gold (interrptions ,stopping the channel of a large attack or stopping a team mate from getting hammered in the face.

IF Pbs is used correctly, you’ll be bowing down thanking the stars the ranger is on your team.

My bad. I assumed something without trying it. I take my words back about the Valk spec, because I have no experience with it and therefore no basis on which to judge.

The point I would like to raise is that current Berserker LB/GS Rangers are not equipped to stand on point, especially in large team fights. If it is a 1v1 on side node, it depends on the matchup, but Zerk LB/GS is still very CD dependent in that case. You either pressure the opponent to disengage (with that set, need a decent amount of game knowledge), or you have to leave yourself (most likely, with many new to tPvP’s node-based structure).

To win with a Berserker LB/GS in your team (66200 or 60260), there is a need for other players to hold nodes for the Ranger to roam, so that he is in position to outnumber and gank effectively.

Well said +1 , the ranger berserker spec may look and play with a low skill floor while people are pew pewing , but that comes with the role of being a Cap roamer that where they can be most effective that also becomes a highly defined role and can need a lot of timing/experience to get right.

if said Berserker ranger isn’t good at Roaming , it becomes a redundent party slot, being in the wrong place at the wrong time costs points and if there is more than one doing this , it can cost the match.

so if anyone here is new to Rangers and want to contribute more , you can use Zerker set ups but make sure you roam to your best efforts and support where needed Near Cap points.

na its not instant cast, the animation just covers it up , new effects draws the eyes and you don’t pay attention to the amount of time the animation took to cast..if it was instant cast the added animation would be pointless as it would be over in a flash.

Anet don;t balance games around What should be or what players think they want.

they balance according to a set of rules , they learnt at uni for games Desgin, it would not be in their interests to make a class Just for the purpose of free loot..thats idoitic so any reasoning from those players that want the class to be free kills or think they are free kills can end that dream right now.

All good changes, though the increased time on bane signet i can’t wait to see what a zerker Guardian’s Bane>burst can do, bit sceptical on that one.

1) 15+ pet/summon/minon power
2) 25+ condition damage
3) Shared Rune Stats between user and pet.
4) 25% chance when hit for pet to grant 6secs of Swiftness and might(2stacks) 15secs cooldown (swiftness applied from the pets/summon/minon location) 240 Radius
5) 100+ power (user)
6) 125+ condition damage (pet/summon/minon)

totals
based on user+pet/summon/minon totals

150 condition damage
130 Power

compaired to the generaic sets, when using 4 runes of this type it would have 5 points more, the split of the shared stats stops power or Condi damage double stacking .
mainly a boost for the pet/summon/minon and applies some Boon support from the pet/summon/minon, able to combine with Concentration Training for a max of 9secs swiftness+might on the pets/summon/minons location.

nothing needs changing , the only thing i wish they could Add is the option for Ascended pet stats or tame Legendary/rare pets like they did back in gw1.

when a class Equips a full set of Ascended armour their base class machanic gets a boost and currently rangers pets/machanic don’t get that boost.

finding and taming Rare pets adds to PvE content and levels the playing field for Ascended stats effecting Class machanics.

do you remember when Healing signet in gw1 , it gave the warroir a Heal spike only but doing so gave the warroir -40 armour…

well why don’t they buff the active of healing signets heal for a better heal compaired to the passive , and just add while casting healing signet you have -250 toughness.

balancing the amount of Hp gained at the risk of the lost toughness for the duration of the cast , may encourage the active use of healing signet and makes it possible to use while not carrying any Adrenline or even heal after a F1 Burst.

why not try a hybrid of quick draw , beastmaster with high crits sigil of strenght and Runes of strenght , go rampager/assasins mix +zerker/cavalier trinkets , i threw in one or two celestial pieces just to try balance things out though these can be Cavalier for more sustatain critical damage.

you’ll do power and stack damage for the pet, it will so give you that condi boost from might.

it’ll be power focused but will have supporting Pet damage and Supporting condis.
would allow you to use SB + Gs or S+A (so long your evades Add up for survival sustain)

lots of on demand control, shared boons , fury swiftness on swap , will have a great Moa Support from protection+Aoe cripple and a Extra heal on f2 + Mao harmonic cry could end up being a good 3k heal in addition to your normal troll ugent heal , though i’d use Healing spring for Regen+condi clear and f2 at the same time on pet for a huge spike heal.

Signet of the wild optional , then choose between Rampage as one or Entangle.

its got good crit / good damage, some nice condi support and lots of Pet damage.
the snow leapord chills and cripples + heals you all at the same time if you time the 20secs cooldowns and that should be useable every time you use f2.

could swap , pet cripple to pet crits cause bleeds , to support the Sb bleeds and confuse the target to who is doing Said bleeds, so they might try to hide but still get bleeds from the pet , that only gets them to waste time Line of sighting from you while the real damage is the pet.

using signet of the hunt well timed with max might stacks can do some massive Damage from the pet use this before Sic um and watch the pet go into Rampage Mode after the pets done swap to Moa and start stacking defences.

Weaknesses:
passive condi removal , so suggest healing spring (and keep kiting)
Lack of Defensive utility , could slot Protect me but both bird and cat can be Squishy but with shared boons from the Blue Moa and heals , regen ect protect can offer some good support to your hp management.
All the major damage is in the pet and needs to last long enough in battle to stack Might from autos.

this is a throw together build , it could use some improvements , a snow wolf could be useful if you don’t mind loosing a bit of dps since Aoe howls can’t miss.

new rangers think outside of the box , we can do way more than just pick zerker and roll.

Add Sharpen edges trait and a Sigil to bleed you’ll get 2-3 stacks per auto just make sure you stack 40% base Crit hits, and you’ll be laughing.

They are usually the reason in pug groups that you don’t send your team to mid in Foefire at the start… there is too little to LoS behind for their long range autos and rapid fire.
The only thing that’s really making longbow rangers somewhat useful is their free-casting ability with a LB, and some cleave with the GS.

Even if you slot a power ranger with Valk, he’s probably not going to live very long outside of signet of stone when he’s on point and attempting to “tank”. Even if the Guardian is trying to keep him alive (and wasting CDs).

About getting on point: there is no reason to get on point if the character is likely to be downed in the next few seconds. If by staying at range and kiting you can take the enemy down sooner, that’s the better choice. Also, you can sometimes make enemies leave the point to LoS because of your LB shots. You can then get on point and knock them back for a decap (then fight off-point and kite), and better yet make them waste some CDs getting to you.

The power ranger isn’t a 1v1 spec (though there are people who can play it well), it is a small fights ganker. It can turn any balanced 1v1 2v2s very quickly. It is basically a Shatter Mesmer, as above.

i wouldn’t talk it down till you’ve tried it , run the Valk 6,0,2,06 LR, Sotw and muddy terrain with LB + S/d with a Soimoth pet and Drake/wolf/spider your choice but the plasma from the Soimoth is most important for Recovery.

If a ranger is to do some Tpvp , they realy should use A vaylk amulet + ranger runes, bit less damage , more tank , able to take some hits stays on point, much more effective than Zerker amulets + scholar or ogres (all that does is burst , not very good vs people that main Pvp modes and are good at there class)

rangers need to learn how to use Sword+dagger to stay on a point longer , Gs is all good and well for mobile Offense but it just don’t have enough on demand evades to tank a cap point.

though the Fothm Ranger like Lb/Gs , it doesn’t have the staying power of a Valk Lb, S+d ranger with ranger runes, the little loss of power/crits is worth it to be able to stay on point.

Gs has its uses but after its skill 4 block and its on point mainly vs a melee type , it will knock them back but it won’t save you on point or enable you to tank for a short time on point to let cooldowns Refresh.

Pets are a important part for Rangers in tpvp since our survival is mainly in the weapons and Evade skills , we need to use pets to provide a good choice of Utility support, like Spiders Aoe poison on cap points, Wolf fear maybe good but only for Offence as soon as that fear wears off they are back on point and its only use in pvp is for Interruption.

if you are a condi ranger , Warthogs are a great use of a pet for the Venom sack plants a long Aoe Poison and weakness on a cap point, down side picking it up so its best to swap to the pig f2 right away and kite towards the said item rather than making a B line for it , as that tell your opponent you going for the item and they will CC stop you or spike you.

My next Fav pet for Tpvp is A jungle Stalker as that allows me to jump into a 2vs1 pop Might when the pet gets there, and let it auto till it uses its bleeds and then pop wolfs fear or use a pigs f2 for a venon sack/gunk to weaken them giving you a strenght boost and them weakened damage that releases pressure so you and your team mates can heal up a little.

underestimated pet the Boar can Do stuns/ provide a Etheral combo field from throw gunk and cause a long term Fear keeping them off the point for even longer (if they are really close to you and in most cases they are ontop of you.

I suggest any rangers reading this Check it out have a look , we have Many more Effective options to use than standing Kiting at long range trying to offer Off-point support.

also a Good pet for a Roaming cap to cap ranger is a Soimoth for boons+stealth can allow you to break when you want and move to places where support is needed, even if it means loosing a cap to protect a cap it will still allow you to cause a Draw situation.
of course if you run a soimth in tpvp make sure to use a Survival of the fittest build also with Ranger runes for Crit hits and +7% damage, those boon you get from a plasma drop can help any team mate that needs a boost can can make you yourself a Tempory tank thanks to regen,protect,Aegis, and a short Stability duration.

Since i run LB, S+h , i generaly use Sotw to gain that speed boost.

after using rampage as one+ a blast (when i need a heal of healing spring)
there will be a down time in Speed after they wear off , not too long of a gap mid you about 6-10secs untill the horns cooldown if finished, since i don’t use traveler or Signet of the hunt.

during this time where i am Vunrable to Aoes (due to low Speed and at this time i maybe chained because of said low Mobility Excluting sword 2+3)
I activate Sotw and Cover that weakness ( i don’t even run Signet mastery thanks to the way i use it) only for a Second source of Emergancy Stability and speed rather than the damage increase which i see as a bonus to apply some extra pressure to get the target to back off.

Yep i understand , I’ve learnt not to Tab for targets and use the mouse for targeting (if i want a target I make sure to T-target him so i don’t loose him)

from the Damage point of view hitting as many targets with cleaves ect, my style is to make use of the opposing zergs squishy D/D eles/necros LF and create Stragglers ect don’t get away rather than focusing on damage i’ll get loot bags if i just tag them with some CC and make sure they can’t Regroup or run away.

aiding a zerg this way(if they become a zombie walk) i can just give them loot by doing so and in the process i get some loot too , how much loot i get im not bothered, i just want to see downed.

New Class Mechanic idea

Change the Skirmishing line to the name of :

Ranger = Expertise , the more you trait further into the Expertise line Reduces the cool downs of Utility skills and Elites , each Teir adept 6% , Master 8% , Grandmaster 10% cooldown Reductions on Utilities, in addition to the Traits that can give % off like Quick draw it would not effect weapons.

this will allow the use of traits on a reduced cooldown and Utilities on a cooldown , lighting reflexes is 32secs traited with 20% total 35% if you take x,6,2,x,x it will put LR on a 26sec cooldown, allowing the ranger to take useful Utilities instead of Dual signets or Dual Survival skills for condi removes/stuns as Shared anguish + LR would be enough to sustain the ranger in combat, freeing up two slots for more variety adding in a spike Trap with larger radius+ ground targeting with reduced cooldown inaddition to Moment of Clairty as a grandmaster , the trap becomes a low cooldown Soft CC Utility rather than traiting it for damage.

doing this can allow a rangers utility to be ether traited for Soft or damaging CC just be changing a Grandmaster thanks to the lower cooldown the trap will do damage more often , and do more soft CC more often .

with Trap master as a grandmaster trait it will allow a total of 30% off Trap Cooldowns, it will reduce Spike traps cooldown by 7.5secs , down to 17.5secs for this to work and to be more balanced for fights , Adding the Gound Animation of a small sized Bramle bush/thorn/rose bush(if using Kudzu) on the ground (20yards square) the more often use of this Utility will give rangers More CC options while traited for full Expertise aka Skirmishing

of course Utilities would have a Slight increase in Cooldowns but this will allow for some Extreame Custom Utility builds , and it won’t effect too much of the Utilities that are already on a low cooldown .

this would also reduced the Cooldown of Rampage as one and Signets without the use of Signet mastery (then Signet mastery Can be Removed or Changed)

i think each class should have somthing like i Suggested to Deepen the depth of the classes even more.

warroirs Burst mastery : inherit 1 adreniline per hit/ hit taken at an Grandmaster lvl if they take max Burst mastery it will allow up to 3 per hit and 3 per hit taken,
balances out so Burst mastery builds have a Natural higher out up of Adreniline ,
to balance increasing the amount of adreniline needed to use the f1` to balance the amount of Adrenline gained , traits in other lines can be used to gain adrenline but doing so Equals less traited for Burst mastery Reducing the % gain.

Necros: increased Life siphions 2% adpet, 4% master 6% grandmaster for soul reaping would allow more hp sustain for Siphion builds built with soul reaping or parshall soul reaping for a % increase traiting else where would Reduce the gain of %, there for reducing Sustain gain.

Mesmers : need a added boost to the Inspiration line, Clones/Illusions have increased hp , 4% adpet, 6% master, 8% Grandmaster, clones live longer giving the mesmer more time to plan attacks and higher damage sustain when not Using shatter Tactics.

Thiefs : Increase stealth durations , attacted to the shadow arts line , Adpet +1sec , Master +2 secs , Grandmaster +3secs , this would reduce the amount of stealths needed and reward a near stealthless build where only one stealth is needed adding Benifit of being able to take a Extra Utility for damage or somthing that don’t grant other source of stealth . thanks to the increased duration.

Guardains , Radiance trait tree Added effect in addition to Precision, Condition Damage stats. Reduce the recharge of Virtues , 2% adept , 4% master , 6% grandmaster.

Elementalists , Arcana= reduces the cooldown of Attunements 4% adept , 6% master , 8% grandmaster , a few slight ajustments to Elemental Attunement and Elemental surge to prevent power creep from Switching Attunements fast , though it wouldn’t be too much of a Overall Boost reducing the above traits by 2% will be made up for slightly more often Attuement swaps.

other builds and benifit from slightly fast attunements, giving the Elementalist s tiny bit more Freedom to attune swap, and could open more Rotation choices.

if class machanics need improving i think this is the best way around it rather than causing things to fall out of Balanc/imbalance adding somthing Unique to a trait line for each class might be a way forwards broadening the depth of trait lines that effect class Machanics .

Reason for the Ranger one being different , since Pets are in a Hard place to Balance thanks to Ai, gw1 Expertise increase the Effectiveness of the rangers Ability to Kite and use CC to kite doing what i Suggested would also do the same effects but Restricting them to Utilities only, so if some one wants a weapon to improve its Kiting Ability Weapon Traits still apply.

As a warrior myself, i can safely tell you that eviscarate and earthshaker dont deserve boon removal.

so is s/d thief and mesmer, who already have a decent amount of boon removal.

If you really want me to say one weapon, warrior GS deserve the boon removal.
also final thurst, it also needs to be unblockable too.

I’d say main hand mace or off-hand mace Deserve it more than on the gs its already a power full Mobile weapon Removing boons would only make it more powerful due to the lack of Aegis(if hit removes and damages) or protect hit remove>burst.

while Mace on the other hand it can be used as a second weapon set for blocks/boon removal when you block a target basicly smashing them so hard the protect ect gets removed, the removal of boons depending on which one is removed can increase the damage delt (removed regen hp sustain lowered, protect gone does more optimal damage, removes Stability enables you to use Bulls charge or shield bash on removal for a nasty combo)

though doing this combo with Mace+sheild is basicly onther option of CC that goes around stability/protect/aegis and the other Mace+sword , blocks/removes and has a stun, that balances its self out having to swap weapons to burst/damage.
in the end it makes mace more Attractive.

i think that would work a little better for balancing the warroir classes weapon sets to include a little bit of boon removal.

other saying that i also don’t think Guardains need the option to remove boons, unless they add a Trait so Spirit weapons Remove Boons when they hit, this way they can use one spirit weapon and make it become useful for damage and kind of control the targets boon Sustain.

though the trait line for this would be in a trait that isn’t boon friendly to the guardain.

i can’t think of a build that would work because spirits are hardly to never used so all i can say is Smite me Almighty smiter(septer somthing) and throw a Spirit hammer in the mix.

well it only seem to look like it does more damage but it does not.

its only players entering and leaving the Aoe taking the Remainder damage, if 5 targets stay in the Aoe till the last pulse then move out , the next 5 will only take 1 pulse = Diminishing returns beyond 5 targets.

the concept of front line is to be on the frontline not to hide behind allies using ranged,
hence the flitting between front and behind commander is a combat style , in the above Sb/axe+D ect with a Gs as main as Valentin explained many ways to do frontline.

did i say anywhere they cannot front line no?

its just simple better for rangers to flit between front and behind the commander using Ranged options , Even if that Ranged option is off-hand Axe or LB or Sb , using Whirling defence while the stack is on the defence to reflect Barrages and Projectiles, and doing some Cleansing bolts.

if yuo built for 2.7k toughness then a decent amount of hp , you can maybe get away with Flitting between frontline and behind the commander using Gs, S/d , LR , muddy terrain and SotW with RoA as you’ll need more than one source of Stability on the front lines .

I think it depends heavily on the numbers in the fight. I run with ~2600-2700 armor I still get instagibed if I get caught by the train or fail to dodgeroll through a clump of wells/marks.
Stone sig helps, but because it only reduces damage, not block or make invulnerable, you can still get stun/immob locked and die once it wears off.

it will take some Extreame kiting skills to avoid it, I’ve learnt to use Sword two really quickly to Evade leap side aways over a wells to the other side of a zerg to avoid more statics and stuns, moving down the flank infront of the commander applying CC’s then moving back to the front lines , i just don’t stay there, the numbers yes but getting caught is always a risk.

if yuo built for 2.7k toughness then a decent amount of hp , you can maybe get away with Flitting between frontline and behind the commander using Gs, S/d , LR , muddy terrain and SotW with RoA as you’ll need more than one source of Stability on the front lines .

but while i was also trying out front line i felt like i traded a little too much power for Self hp sustain , in the form of Hleaing spring+natures bounty or taking some Celestial amulet and one accessory for some healing power to push springs regen over 4k.

in the end it did average damage/ decent survival and was not enough to go head to head with the heavy classes (vs those i was forced to kite again) so the changes i did were detrimental in some ways but vs the bulk of frontline which is heavy classes i didn’t fair too well in doing some good damage without going to the extremes to stack damage.

when i did do well it was with 25 bloodlust stacks, boarder stacks and a good amount of might , and i had to use 10% vs Kd/stunned foes and 5% more damage, to get more damage out of the hammer train.

some times it works some times the heavies are too tanky for the above to work.

Necros can plant a Specteral wall on the ranger himself to interrupt him and maybe his pet , some rangers will swap pets to use Fear as a pressure break doing this is a two for one if they swap pets.

It is Very Tempting to join in with this King of the hill , Though i am Very Rusty at Dualing have not done a Dual since gw1.

I’d like to see if this could work, I don’t Solo que regularly, the only time I’ve done Pvp is with my guildies so i may get my backside owned a few times before im back upto speed with dualing again.

Back in gw1, the guild im in Mantle Assasins then and now we moved over from gw1 and going strong for our 9th year anniversary.

we Ran an King of the hill style comp to dual other people for our Guilds masters title and it was the job of the master to teach new and old members tips/tricks and skill pointers (for that class)

I held it for a year and honestly i love the idea of Handicaps, with the guild masters title it gave me a lot of Knowledge as i battled vs every build my guildies threw at me every time i made a new build back then , some times it was So grueling I cried a little over team speak trying to kill a Wonderlust Ritualist build, So glad they added Stabiliy in gw2.

thats the past though , Maybe This might get my flames going again.

perfect time to catch me any time wednesday/thursday 5pm onwards and the weekends mostly sunday is when gw has my full Attention not doing Guild events.

i hope to use this If i can i’ll be using this build, im kind of experimenting , My fav stat currently is a Cavalier type build , so im hoping this hybrid might do well as its crit damage is quite powerful while complementing the tankiness of Cavalier stats/Sotf.

Only thing I dislike about Flopy is that he is just like any other bearbow ranger when it comes to knocking things away from melee. Every single time.

yes but he does it for a reason mostly to stop the healing skills, even if he let the target stay in melee range , even i wouldn’t risk letting them Recover+healing (if the melee type fails to finish him off)

the interupt kb is simply a means for a good ranger to Make sure the Fight Is ended There and then , rather than risking Drawing out the fight.

honestly he only uses the bear for the condi clear then swap to the faithful samioth, his nothing like a Bear bow , its Pig Bow.

Better go do somthing maths on a Zerker RF without Crits just remember those that dont’ use Full zerker do 8-10k 12k on a good set up that includes pet damage, without the crits it really would not be a Burst anymore.

and Removing the LBs stealth only form of Defence vs Targets that have Stability is a bad idea.

Remorseless is a Trait that allows a Ranger to apply AoE vun hunters shot>barrage.
it trades power/dps for Aoe CC/ damage buff support.

there is only Huntershot on the ranger alone that supports Remorseless , but you can just ask a thief friend to run with you and use his Stealths to boost the remorseless use.

in the end the trait is less greedy than Rtw and Op , and in some builds that focuses on Melee spike rather than LB spike this trait can reverse this effect by going Huntershot >swap>hilt bash >maul or even Huntershot>swap>path of scars (interrupt)>WD to stack tons of Vun.

Damage support vs self damage buffs, a very fine line for the two types of traits.
im sure everyone in Pvp would love to use Remorseless , pitty it is conquest only currently where RtW or Op are of more use.

if it was capture the flag/base or even TvT kill the guild lord like in gw1, a build using Remorseless does have its place at Prepairing targets on a Aoe scale for Vun stacking+ chain spiking.

Guard could be used to maintain Vun on a Target if the traited did added pets regain opening strikes and would improve the Guard Utility too , you told it to guard but it gains nothing but Protection and a good stealth duration.
the Vun from a pet regaining opening strikes would get the skill to act like a Real guard with consequences to a target that approaches a power Bm ranger(gear would be P,P,T mix with P,T,F)
after using guard with big words GUARD , it’ll get the other players to use more caution while Approching the ranger.

so with that , I have no problems with Remorseless Add its effects to Stealthed pets.
the Trade damage vs Aoe Vun in some rotation cycles and additional vun % a little extra dps from pet attacks mainly jaguar and shared stealth from thiefs.

PvE wise Vunrability is already stacking 25 in nearly all medium to large events just by using Opening strikes adding more would only give a Rangers Jaguar pet or stealthed pet to apply Vun / adding a % of dps more. it is nether here or there.

Close in the gap to any target with gs block , if there hp is low and you swoop is on cooldown, using skill 4 for block to gap close is just as good as Swoop (if they are close enough) .
when the target hp is low or dangerously low something like 30% hp , they will ether start to kite or use Defensive skills that can be stopped by going into a hilt bash.

if they run don’t forget to use the throw on the gs 4 block to cripple them untill swoop is off cooldown.

Timing Gs autos for the Evade can be done but it requires you to learn its timing Without Auto attack turned on , it’ll take a lot of Practice vs dummies and golems but it is Possible.

Rangers actually shoot 2100 distance.

A staff, is considered a Projectile weapon on its auto, its main use going by its Access to its skills , it is mostly a Aoe weapon not a Projectile weapon.

Considering projectile weapons all the skills have some kind of Projectile ammo or projectile magic(aka Fire ball)

  • Movement speed increase: 25%
    (hidden effect: pet gets 30% movement speed increase)

This would help with:

  • build diversity: Signet of the Hunt not a required utility (or a sub-optimal rune)
  • counterplay: Another trait that depends on a living pet (love it or hate it)
  • improves skirmishing traitline with less pet-only traits.

1 other classes have the option (excluding Necro) to take a Movement 25% trait and has some kind of Requirment. good simple Qol update.

Axe can be good Dps if built correctly, those might stacks give it some Hitting power for Power/Sub condi builds using Axe on its own isn’t any good it needs Qz or Extra Bleeds on sigil+ Sharpen edges to deal its dps.

it is the best Multi target Range weapon because it also provides Control elements if teamed up with a Dagger-offhand+gs or Sword+torch.

W=forward
S= back
d=turn right
A= turn left
E=strafe right
Q= strafe left
using Turn right and Strafe right i can do Circles nearly on the spot.

C=pet swap
R= Pet f2
x= about face
g= finish
f=loot all
V= pet Return

Mouse button 4 = pet attack
Mouse button 5 = Utlity 8 (my muddy terrain to click and pointer ground target)

utlities 7 & 9 click on (i need more buttons can’t use T that is still Take target.)
no more buttons within easy finger Reach (needs more mouse buttons :p)

(normaly Lighting reflexes and Sotw, i won’t ever use these unless im going for a kill or Ramping up for one after a muddy terrain using my mouse 5)

lol its solo Que don’t Expect much beyond Winging it , in that game mode.
taking out hammer and a good ranger Requires some form of team work.

hammer + imbo ranger (is defo a set up to watch out for there won’t be any escape) only way out is to focus the ranger then be in the Rock and a hard place Situation , where then a team mate is needed to break the Rock so it can’t bash you anymore.

After that fight I got into the habit of swapping pets right after using SoR whenever possible.

Best to do that anyway since if you’ve used the SoR active it normally means you had a huge amount of conditions on you (not to mention it can pull conditions from allies as well) and if you don’t swap your pet is likely to be in a world of pain whether theres a Necro to epidemic or not.

well ya that too but epidemics on a 15secs cooldown and it would later on become the same problem as our pet swaps longer than 15secs.

just adding a tunnel pet can tide it over untill the next swap.

Where are these placement’s that give you a 1500 range advantage,that has no counters? No way to reliably use terrain or close the distance.

Lets give a scenerio maybe this will help.

The ranger has a capture point.
You see the ranger is now sitting on this point.
What map is there where you cant get to this capture point?

Scenerio two-

You are capturing a capture point.
You see the ranger is coming towards you.

What map is there where you can not LoS or close the distance, before losing this capture point?

Ah now I see what you are saying! That was definitely much clearer. To answer your question doing extreme damage at 1500 helps contest the point by providing incredible damage from a safe distance. Think of it like this. You have a bunker at home being swarmed by three people. Said person at 1500 range starts firing upon these three foes, one is downed and finished off by the bunker as the other two react. Bunker holds off one while another splits off to engage, but before that second player can reach he is downed and being killed. Two down and the final person is still in range, you can guess the rest. Line of sight would be a good idea if this was not a Conquest oriented PvP scenario.

.so 3vs 1 bunker and a sniping ranger , this situation is Directly focused on planting a Reflect at the same time as one of the 3 break off to deal with the ranger in question.

thust making the cap point safe for a Duration of time and at 2vs1 fight, where the ranger can’t contribrute to the 2vs1 , then he has to deal with a 1vs1 fight.

in a orgainsed team atleast one person should have a reflect now, just for the fact you will be facing these rangers in Solo Que and Tpvp ( it might not be the same for higher ranks) but it is a Option people should consider, rather than just winging it , playing Solo in a group without any cap point support, a reason why Engis are a pain too.

Bubble turreter can deal with this problem in this situation in Spades.

Even if the group complains about Omg that Ranger isn’t ontop of us and only 30yards away its wrong wtf , get back here.

First i am curious, how do you die to rapid fire with stealth and 2 dodges and a reflecting elite skill?

All classes have at least 2 dodges and yet people still get hit with RF. Funny how that works. So unless you’re saving all your dodges for rapid fire, you’re not gonna dodge it all and the long bow auto attack is just as damaging if you don’t stop it and get close. Stealth only works if the ranger has no idea what your stealth skills look like, otherwise they just start channeling when they see the animation and RF will track you in stealth. Stealth doesn’t stop damage so even if they don’t manage to get the RF off, they can always use Barrage on themselves. Most burst thieves won’t risk the HP loss+cripple to go into that area. Daggerstorm has a 90 second cd compared to the 8 of RF, not to mention it recently has developed this nasty bug of doing absolutely nothing but the animation but going on full cd. Just saying. If you’re gonna make thief sound like some god tier class who is never hit with anything, you might wanna include all factors when making your snide replies.

I just kind of find it a bit comical, that it offended him, that I do not find dealing with a LB ranger, while on my thief, all that difficult.

really comical compairing a burst to a Area/defensive skill learn to stealth>teleport with it and it is golden vs LB’s , time the combo with barrage port in , ranger panics using PBS or Rf(he might swap to melee but thats the idea to force him into his Defensive set)
he will ether KB himself or get a full Rf in his face , if he breaks combat apply pressure , cancel dagger storm and CC stealth+damage.
ether that or use Thiefs guild+ Cnd before or black powder and use those as Meat shields.

Just dancing about with dagger storm going its full channel from a distance isn’t going to close a gap , its like Waiting out for Endure pain to wear off.

stealth use to be annoying since it was Uncounterable through skills, now it needs Tactical play from both players, Revealed is mainly used for Team spikes to down a threat in group play if its used in roaming it is easly avoided by using LOS trees.,

I was happy with the 4second reveal but that allowed a thief to hide behind Los and vanish (heal in stealth) too often recovering damage too quickly, so 6secs is enough for a pet to try and flush you out of cover, but not too long for a kill or to down a thief, this kinda Encouages Active pet play too if a ranger can’t LoS you.

I hate fighting in Enclosed areas and players should aim for that while playing thief the open field isn’t the best place to fight a Archer build, rangers can gap widen like no tommorrow but they still can’t disenage well at all unless they build for it like other classes and with a LB on that greatly reduces the chances of a Disengage, in these areas.

Every class but the one I play is OP!

No they don’t cancel out, a larger chasm of unbalance is created. I apologize but my question was rhetorical, I assumed the fact that doing so would be absurd would be apparent.

i’ll tell you two things before patch.
this is to not Include full zerker buffs.
LB didn’t need blocking , didn’t need dodging, didn’t need Reflecting.
it was a simple gap close and kill , then with the Really weak short range of Long shot (they had no chance to swap weapons because of a cooldown)
so in the end as soon as a ranger swapped to a LB , it was Charge it and kill (he might get lucky and survive a few more secs with PBS/Hunters shot.

in the end the damage in this Situaton wasn’t enough to get other classes to even consider any Defence praticly none apart from stealth can be ignored since that is mainly a Difent trait of a build or a very short term trick to get a target to loose focus.

if people think that the above was balanced, i realy think some people should think a lot more Deeply, these changes where a Lot more than just a Skill Balance its changed the way we Fight , we Think about combat and even more importantly its but some life back into the combat of the game.

it doesn’t focus on one set up, since i generaly are ether with guildies or roaming with guildies or guild allies.

this is my current build, Some times i Swap my LB for Axe+dagger / gs maybe just change two-hanned training for Natures bounty for that little more Regen.

sometimes i run S+W , A+d with the same Traits , just chaning Two-hanned training again for somthing else.

we are still here , just needles in a haystack though.

Kitted for Condi and Traps , Its a lot better for Rangers to use these runes.
dropping all three traps on a Spread of location against a person trying to gap close you will end up downing himself , if he don’t react quickly enough with a Block/evade or dodge.

i;ve seen warroirs use Endure pain to get through these Traps and they just end up burning themselfs out.

the traps on ranger can be used as Massive spike(3 at a time)
one for runes to repostion and cripple.
two traps to set up a Firefield>leap>frost trap(stealth leave/repostion (putting there skills on a slower cooldown) allowing you to control the tempo of a fight.

on rangers they can be ether Powerful or So weak (untraited) they arn’t worth taking at all.
