Has anyone redone the averages since they changed the BL chests to only drop 3 items?

I used to average pretty close to 20% until they changed the chests to the current method. Currently i’m 0 for 10 on scraps since the chests changed.

Recently John Smith stated that the over-correction of silk was intended. However I am curious if the cost disparity between crafting different armor weight ascended armor is also intended? Currently light ascended armor costs almost 100g more than medium and heavy ascended armor. The reason almost exclusively coming down to John Smith’s “correction” of silk scraps. Below are the current prices to craft a set of ascended armor for each armor class, accurate as of posting:

Heavy: 405g
Medium: 386g
Light: 494g

Is this intended? Is anything going to be done to correct this? The easiest correction would be to remove 1 damask from each of the light armor piece recipes. This would reduce the amount of damask needed by 6, lowing the cost of light armor by 90g, bringing it directly in line with the cost of other armor sets.

This is not something that will change over time. The silk “correction” is the cause and as long as it is in place this disparity will continue.

The problem is that people are all doing the LS now. The LS takes place in lower level zones meaning that people are not out farming mats like they used to be. This causes mat prices to rise.

When there is a break in the LS or if the LS goes to a good farming zone then hopefully we will get a break from these price increases.

Yes because posting kitten of your bank tells hackers your cell phone number, your email address, the password to your account, the password to your email, the password to your cell phone and gives their computer the same ip as yours…

The only accounts that get hacked are people with poor security, has nothing to do with how many shinies you have in your bank.

= 200 chances an hour

Got 10 foxfire in about 5 minutes of chopping, not a bad investment or very difficult.

I give it 3 days until they remove the spot, so go do it now and don’t come back here and complain when they nerf the spot.

They drop in bags and off mobs too… not sure why everyone is just chopping down trees.

Based on their plummeting price on the TP it seems the drop rate may be too high, it may need to be adjusted down to keep their value up.

3531 attack? 30k HP? 3.37k def? 210% crit dmg? That must be PvP, right? Those kinds of stats are unobtainable anywhere else (I’m only guessing, I don’t play PvP). I’m guessing you’re running.. zerker gear with what looks like assassin trinkets and Lunaria.

Stats are higher in PvE, so it is most likely PvE.

You just don’t play Anet’s favorite class most likely. If you aren’t a Warrior then you can’t get those stats. Most classes need to make a trade off. I.E. high damage low survivability. Warriors just get the highest of everything.

It stacks with swiftness so it is very useful. Nothing else stacks with swiftness. People will be FLYING past you in a sandstorm with these equipped.

I’m fairly certain that crit chance is actually capped at something like 95%. I remember reading about it somewhere, but no idea where.

I would try getting 1000 hits in or so and see if you actually crit 1000 times or not.

Yeah I think however they seed the RNG it gives back identical numbers if it rolls at the same time very often.

I get a double roll like that at least once a day. It doesn’t mean that it is necessarily broken, but it is an odd behavior.

Chances are that we will bounce around more as the dragon corruption spreads. When we first started the game there were undead already spreading corruption all throughout the world. This time we get to see it spread first hand.

I suspect the next few releases will deal with the effect of the corruption on each of the races, culminating in a break with a feature patch and then focusing on the slyvari and heading further west, maybe even discovering another slyvari tree.

People were screaming for permanent content. Now that it is here, it isn’t good enough and they want more. Nothing will ever satisfy some people.

Why do people keep saying these things? This is a ridiculous and flawed statement. FFXI released an expansion, everyone was extremely happy about it, played the hell through it, and enjoyed the new classes. Now they provide small updates every month that provides permanent, if minor content, and everyone is jolly as a kitten.

Not sure what FFXI you are talking about but when I went to the games forums and went to the general discussion section… 15 out of the 20 posts on the front pages were complaints and threats to leave the game… so I guess not…

You’ll never make everyone happy, it is impossible. Everyone likes different things.

Based on the devs original schedule, the next patch after this one should be a feature patch. Hopefully it is and we get some new things outside of the LS.

I suspect the next feature patch will contain at least 500 cooking and jewelcrafting, legendary trinkets, legendary weapons and precursor crafting. Outside of that though who knows.

Thing with condi is dmg over time. The shorter time something is alive the less dmg it does. Also there are condi caps. So the more condi players and the less time the less condi matters. This is where zerker shines.

Condi is great for solo or duo encounters. After that zerkers are where it’s at for dmg.

Zerker=things dying faster
Condi=more dmg over time

So the more ppl and the faster something dies the less condi is preferable.

That’s how it should work, but it doesn’t.

Current Sustaind max condition dps (over long periods): ~5000dps
Current Sustained max direct dps (over long periods): ~12000dps
Cyrrent Sustained max Hybrid dps (over long periods): ~8000dps

Direct damage zerker builds FAR outshine ALL other builds currently. That isn’t how it should be, but it is. Saying that condition damage is “ok” in some situations is just making the problem worse and not helping anyone.

So it is higher than warrior. Because noone runs a no banner warrior. And anyone that runs a warrior without empower allies in a casual/organised run uses 6/6/0/0/2 or 6/5/0/0/3 with GS. Not 6/6/0/2/0 axe.

That’s comparing apples to oranges. You took the max damage, no utility necro and compared it to the lowest damage most utility warrior.

The max damage warrior beats the max damage necro by a fair margin. Swapping out for a build that is more utility focused on both classes yields the same results.

Or if you instead think its well perceived, why don’t you look at every single thread that had the luck to remain for few hours in general section?

There were many threads about how important economy perception is in a videogame.

If by “really perceived” you mean that you mistakenly perceive a fantastic and functioning system as broken, then no… I don’t care.

Is there ever a situation where the economy might be changed (for the worse) due to the majority perceiving a problem and thus hurting Anets bottom line?

Has there been any pressure for this to happen?

Buy them with Laurels, or use the mystic clover x10 recipe to make them.

I got almost half of my T6 mats just making the clovers. I farmed the rest over a year.

is a weakened character. You cannot critically hit those bosses. Two stats wasted.

As opposed to condition spec characters… who literally do <100 dps. It is literally better for the condition player to NOT be there as to not scale up the event because they scale it more than the damage they do.

Elite skill 26.454k dmg (150 sec cd)
utility skill 1 3.360k dmg (25sec cd)
utility skill 2 10 s 3x stacks of confusion- 1k dmg on skill use plus reflects dmg 6 sec (30 s.cd)
Pet: 1.3k dmg every sec or so +2.4k bleeding every 6 secs plus other pet skills. Can switch pets to stack up might (double result for condition build and more bleeds and stuff).
Normal skills: 11k burning (20 sec cd)
8k buring (8 sec cd)
6.7k bleeding (6 sec cd)
4.420k bleeding (9 sec cd)
1.350k bleeding (12 sec cd)
Aoe auto attacks
1.9k toughness and 24k hp (more survavibility equals more dmg!

I will not even mention my traits which amplify my condition dmg even more.

If you are reading these numbers off of tool tips then they already take into account your traits.

Using your numbers you get: 5270 dps… almost 1/3 as much as a zerker spec can do.

Why does anyone play a necro? No mobility, lowest DPS of all classes, no active defenses, and very little group support. The only situation where a necro doesn’t objectively make your group worse is 3-headed wurm for the trash.

Poorly speccd/geared classes that are used in cookie cutter play often do not perform well. A lot depends on the situation and player skill. That holds for every class.

I’m sorry you’ve run into Necros that might have fallen into that category.

Creatively speccd/geared/played Necros can offer good group support (heals/protection/cc), high AoE dps, and shine in Fractals, Explorables (yes, tanking/dps in Arah), WvW and SPvP. They have incredibly high vitality / survivability and intelligent spec/use of DS provides some situation-winning abilities that other classes do not have.

- part of a 4 player group that has done Fractals/Explorables and WvW (towers/keeps) with 2 Necros and 2 Elems.

We’ve found that our Necros (spec/gear) are interchangeable with warriors. (And yes, we also have/play zerker warriors, among other professions/builds.)

I REALLY hope I am missing the /sarcasm here… If not then it is no wonder that the devs won’t fix necro if people really think this…

Server status is based on Accounts, not logins. It will stay as “full” until someone transfers off or Anet increases the population cap.

For thouse of you (and there are many!) that think that zerker build is the only good dmg build.
You are so freaking wrong!!!
i hit twice as much with my condition ranger then i do with my zerker chars.
Those that are making squads and only accepting zerker builds aren’t very smart ….

No… No you don’t.

Assuming 100% uptime and 2100 condition damage and 25 stacks of might (875 condition damage)
This gives us:
Bleed: 4781 dps
Burn: 1071 dps
Poison: 381 dps
3 torment: 430 dps

= 6600 DPS…

That is less than half of a zerker ranger build and that is assuming conditions are 10x better than can actually occur.

Try again.

Um. What attack were you using before that cleaved more than three targets?

Skills on cooldown can often cleave up to 5, but auto-attacks on cleaving weapons have always only hit three.

melee skills (i.e 100b , autoattack) were unlimited on how many they could hit.

The max AOE targets for every skill in the game is 5. Nothing in the game that isn’t a siege weapon hits more than 5 targets.

Just switch from dungeon running to world boss train. Instead of gold you’ll get ectos and instead of emp frags you’ll get dragonite ore.

Follow the timer or just look at map chat, people almost always link the WP to the next boss.

Dodge+block+evade+invul does a lot more than tankiness ever will. Bosses 2-shot you in tank gear or one-shot you in zerker gear. If you can’t dodge, you die either way.

Dragonite can drop from the buried locked chests during the sandstorms. It seems to be a 50/50 chance between that and emp frags. It drops 15-20 in each chest.

Do you guys think that the other slyvari trees have been corrupted yet? Do you think we will get to find them? It would be really interesting to see what slyvari who aren’t guided by the tablet are like. We already know that they don’t have the dream like the pale tree provides, which I assume makes them very easily corruptible.

I personally hope that we run into Malyck again, he might be able to tell us more.

I don’t see why it’s so unfeasible for the vines to be spreading that fast on their own. They are essentially draining the WP’s of their energy to fuel their growth across tyria. Between the ley line and the WP energy they can quickly spread across the world.

Also just because there is 2 weeks in between our patches doesn’t mean there is 2 weeks in tyria time. I did my personal story in 3 days, yet in tyria time it was over a year. It could be a few months for all we know. But even if not, there are plants on Earth that can grow 2-3 feet per day, and we don’t have magic or dragons. I suspect a mile a day of plant growth is nothing for the nearly unlimited energy of the ley line.

I bugged up and fell under the terrain the other day and “swam” over to the new locked area and ended up climbing up to him/her. It’s a rather small centaur compared to others of its species.

I think he is smaller for perspective reasons for far away viewing. I don’t think he’s actually small, you just aren’t supposed to be that close lol.

Season 2 seems set to deliver a much more expansion like experience than S1 did. We are rumored to be getting a new zone or part of a zone every month for the whole season. That should work out to 5-6 new full zones by the end, which is the same as an expansion.

I suspect we will see new weapons and hopefully new skills soon as well. Though to be honest 1-2 new skills is all you see in an expansion anyway, so not sure what people expect there.

New class and new race… I would like to see these, but I don’t see them happening without an expansion. Sure it is possible, but it seems more like a pipe dream than a reality.

Hopefully we will see new dungeons soon. I think there is a great possibility to include them in this season, I just hope they are totally new and full dungeons. This one is more of a wait and see. I however don’t see why this would be expansion only. We already got 2 fractals and 1 dungeon path from S1. They should be able to pump out bigger and better dungeons now that they have their footing.

It varies wildly depending on the activity.

Dungeon running has almost no mobs to kill and thus I don’t think i’ve ever seen an exotic drop in my 300+ dungeon runs

World Bosses have better chests then dungeons, but still almost no mob killing. When I run the full set of world bosses I may see 1-2 exotics a week, if I am going 4 hours a day of just world bosses.

My farming spot where I have a high number of kills/hr is modified by my very high MF, I see about 1 exotic every 2 hours of farming. This is pure mob farming so it has the highest potential exotic yield by far. Also very boring. I don’t farm very often, it isn’t worth it to me.

It’s important to remember that chests are not effected by MF, and chests is where many players get most of their loot.

Conditions need a serious buff

Cause of several reasons.
Condition Damage is affected by two things, condition damage and condition duration. Condition Duration isnt available in armor or trinkets (and a combination of cond dmg+duration on weapons is also unavailable i think). So a condi build only relies on one armor stat to build up its damage and has 2 more slots to fill with tanky stats. Berserker armor, the armor used to reach these 10+k sustained dps, needs 3 armor stats, leaving 0 space for tanky stats.

2nd reason is that conditions tick even when you dont hit the boss (Damage over Time). While a zerk does pretty good direct damage, when he stops attacking, his dps drops to 0. So conditions have higher dps uptime than direct damage, they couldnt be as powerful as direct hits.
3rd reason. Melee damage>>Ranged Damage. How is it fair a necro spamming his scepter auto from 900 range doing dps similar to another class which sits on the boss and eats/dodges its attacks ?

Anyway in PvE (at the moment) berserker gear yields the best results. If you feel bad about your condition dps, play conditionmancer/terrormancer in pvp and rejoice

1. This is certainly fixable. Introduce a Condition damage/condition duration/precision gear set and allow conditions to crit. This would give us a similar glass cannon build to direct damage users.

2. Conditions may tick when you don’t hit the boss, but you also aren’t applying new conditions. your dps will be reduced just as much as a direct damage user, it is just harder to notice. Yes it doesn’t drop to 0, but if you drop from 5000dps to 3000dps for 2 seconds it will then take an additional few seconds to build the condition stacks back up and get back to 5000 dps. A direct damage user can instantly go back to full dps, there is no build up time. In the end these end up being the same, and as such is not a factor.

3. You are correct, it isn’t fair for a ranged user to do as much damage as a melee user. A possible fix for this is to introduce a melee condition user spec to each class when they release new weapons. This would be a melee weapon that applies conditions and whos attacks have a direct damage component that is dependant on condition damage instead of power. This would mean your damage would come entirely from condition based stats, but would be a combination of conditions and direct damage.

The only thing I am concerned about is that the booming sales in China will negatively impact the game here if they try and cater to the chinese players who have a different outlook on the game.
