Exactly my point on asking for the quote I did not expect anyone to find it. I figured everyone got that idea due to chinese whispers(telephone) and that one livestream.
I think what really was said was Ascended should have gone in at the start. Not We had Ascended planned from the start. I have half the mind to look for that interview myself and put it on the wiki for quick reference along with linking Matt Visuals interview on the wiki.
I’ve managed to dig up the Reddit Chris Whiteside AMA where I remembered the information from. Click here.
The actual quote is as follows:
Question from toychristopher:
Was ascended gear actually conceptualized before launch? The blog post that introduced it made it sound like something that you guys came up with just recently.Response:
Hi Toy,It was not specifically designed before launch. However the concept of progression rewards with a shallow curve bridging other rewards was. Hope that makes sense.
Chris
So while not specifically Ascended, they are saying there that they had planned vertical progression prior to release.
Thanks that is perfectly in line with what Colin said. So no they do not contradict each other.
I object to the fact that ascended is an unnecessary gear tier (no content that requires it except high fractals) except of course WvW and WvW would not require ascended if the gear did not exist. Until they introduced Ascended weapons Legendaries were just ‘ooh pretty fluff content’ now as it turns out they are the most powerful weapons in the game making the ones of us that did not bother because we dont do fluff very disadvantaged.
Then explain to me how I am running around in WvW just fine with rares. It is not that much of a grind. I am 1/4 the way there and only because I am doing things slowly. I wish I had more time to dedicate to the game. Then I would run a test to see how easy it is to get ascended if you just leveled up your crafting while playing and saving all mats.
I seriously think the biggest problem is this. We are all level 80’s so we are mostly starting from ground 0 when if this was released at launch we would be most of the way done with gathering all of our mats if we played the game normally.
Nothing to see here, all this means is that you have not reached end game yet so cannot see the disgruntlement of people that reached end game 9 months ago and have 8 toons geared for it who now have to get back on a borked unnecessary treadmill again which by the way you do not have a prayer of ever catching up with.
P.S. yes you can do ‘fine’ in WvW in a zerg same as pressing 1 a lot or autoattack in PVE kitten, if this is your idea of a good time then god bless you.
Actually the reason why I am on rares is simple. I was testing out a new build. I like it. Still on it due to I am debating if I want to wait for ascended armor or go ahead and make the exotics. I had my level 80 exotics already. I even transmuted a few of them. If anything that was not done right.
As for WvW actually I do not normally like large zergs. I am a thief so I roam a lot. I also havok a lot.
I can see the disgruntlement however….. It is just not as big of a deal that everyone is making it out to be. Once they get in the game and play and try to learn how the game implemented it. As well as why they implemented it. They too will come to the same conclusion I did.
The original plan was to have in-game books somewhat like the ones made available in the GW1 Bonus Mission Pack content. We wrote nearly 100 of them but were unable to implement them due to the book tech getting cut from development in the months leading up to GW2’s release. We may revisit the idea one day.
I thought it was weird to have all these book carts but little book to them. I understand that this would be something of low priority. But I would really really really enjoy this.
Perhaps the books can also solve a lot of the Missed out on the story questions with the living story. Finding those story posts on the web is going to become problematic down the line. Would have to sift through 40+ blog posts to find them.
Instead lay a few books around the areas that those stories happened in. Add some achievements to it call it Living story catchup or something this will drive players to read them if they wish(if not they can just go visit the place and interact with the book to get the achievement). Then new players can have the depth that a lot of people were complaining that was missing in the beginning of the living stories. Along with the items you have planned with possible replays/cutscenes. Would work well.
I think this will solve a LOT of the depth complaints and lore problems that a majority of Lore Buffs complain about. Best part is some of the code may be already done.

How does this thread have over 540 posts yet no replies from devs?
Quite simply because they have already addressed the issue. The dev want us to play the game.
If they do they will find. The grind is not that bad. The timegate is not that bad. There are already many people who always have ascended weapons. Some may even have it on multiple characters by now as most of the time-gated stuff is per character per toon. Or you can bypass the timegate entirely.
Welcome back a lot has changed. Not a lot of players would like this feature. Although I can see some reasons why It would be liked.
If you want a fresh start is a lot harder due to the account wallet and account wide magic find. My advise spend what you can trash what you don’t want. If you think you may want some of it later create a solo guild and dump the coin there. Then create a mule and dump the items in the mule.
If you are talking about that quote about ascended being planned all along. I request that you quote it. Because I have never seen the post in it’s full quote. Only people quoting people who quoted people.
Not possible, because I don’t think that quote exists. If you read the November blog post by Linsey Murdock and have watched and read subsequent interviews with Anet devs, you’ll see that Ascended were not planned all along but were a necessary step to introduce asap when they saw that the Exotic tier that was supposed to have satisfied those same requirements didn’t cut it. Everyone had exotics much earlier than Anet had predicted (so, if anything blame those predictions or we might have seen Ascended gear come out at game launch), and then hit that “Legendary wall”.
I seem to remember a livestream at some point with either Colin or Mike or something where they said Ascended should have gone in at the start – because typically they’d only otherwise do such introductions to coincide with expansions (re: blog post). But I’ve not gone back to re-check all those livestreams from mid-november to december/january.
Regardless whether Ascended tier was planned from start or as part of an expansion – but then got rushed in asap in November due to what they found with the Exotics – I’m happy the tier is in there.
Exactly my point on asking for the quote I did not expect anyone to find it. I figured everyone got that idea due to chinese whispers(telephone) and that one livestream.

I think the comments at glassdoor about “shady management” ring true if you look at what’s been said vs. what’s been done with this game

Keep in mind your poll will be highly skewed and rather pointless as it can not be used to change ArenaNet’s mind on ascended. Nor will it win any argument on ascended.
Impact bias is something that comes to mind. A lot of people do not also have enough information to make a educated decision.
What about those talks that you’ll need 2 weeks to craft 1 weapon?
They came up with that stat based upon metrics that they have for a average player.
You were warned it was coming. A week in advance actually. Longer if you looked at the looking ahead post.
Checked today, still looks like garbage. ANet completely ignoring this thread as well as issue. Don’t see issue, don’t hear about issue, don’t speak about issue – there is no issue!
I don’t think they are ignoring it is just extremely low priority. Makes me wonder what else the Web programmers are working on. Who knows maybe the trading post. It is a website after all.
You can use them in recipes, though. =)
I wish there was something to do with all those stacks of Gauntlet tickets. =(
Wait for the next Gauntlet.
Yes, that macro would not be allowed. It is one key, one action…not function.
That actually would be once key per once action. Due to they way keyboards work when you hold down a key it repeats the up and down of the key.
Ya I am thinking my gaming mouse is going out too. I really need to remember to bind it to something else when I am salvaging but…… Takes too much time. Apparently there is a accessibility option in windows that allows you to use your numpad as a mouse that can be enabled via a key combination. Need to remember what that is.
Key combination to turn it on is ALT + Left Shift + Num Lock. Need to check the box in the accessibility center first for it.

Can ascended weapons that drop be sold (as opposed to the crafted asc weapons)? Or are they account bound on pickup. I would be amazed if there’s no way to buy ascended weapons.
be amazed cuz you can’t buy them.
So those that drop are account bound?
yes
Thats kittened up, essentially forcing us into crafting to get the stats we want. What happened to the BLTC being a simulation of a real world economy such that they needed to emply an actual economist.
Quite simply…. Players are not acting to their benefit in the economy. Like allowing crafting items to be sold for way too low of a price then what they expected. A lot more people craft then they expected. A lot more. Like most of the player base. They expected the other way around.
GW2lfg.com is still vibrant with groups for all kinds of content. Don’t know what the fuzz is about.
regardless! i shouldn’t, WE shouldn’t, have to use 3rd party functions for things we should be able to do with our guild mates/friends and server populations.
07/17/2013 patch. Watch for it. LFG incoming.
November last year.
Orb’s were removed from WvW.. with a promised fix.
almost one year later now..
Still waiting..
The wait is almost over 07/17/2013 patch incoming.
I do not think the living story is killing the game. It is temporary achievement hunting that is causing the symptoms you described. Living story is as a matter of fact it is keeping it alive. Most players finish the living story content the first week then play the game the second week. Some players take breaks. There are a lot of players not playing SAB this patch and instead running around getting their ascended gear. There is also a massive amount of players in WvW and only WvW.
That said invasion events were a exception to the rule. Players finally got the rewards they wanted for the first time so they all went there. Sacrificing other things like scheduled Guild Missions(My guild does them regularly the first week we skipped it) Now players have close to how much they need for their needs and tend to use them to generate large amounts of income or mats.
Where has it been stated that MF and AR dungeons are going to be fractals? I don’t remember this, though it would be cool. As for what your saying, yes I agree November. Prolly at the same time Ascended armor. It’s also the one year anniversary of FotM.
It was stated back before july-23-2013 release
There was a big discussion on this BWE2 and some in BWE1 even less in BWE3. I think that due to it is available in the trading post now most people do not mind that it is character unlocked. Thus why It has not changed. There are a few people that would still like it account bound.
Also if they do make them account bound they will have to pull them from the trading post to keep there value. Meaning that everyone will be forced to get all dyes to get the dye they want. Yes it is technically possible for them to be account unlocked and still in the trading post. But may not be the best for the economy.
Personally as they are available in the trading post I am having more fun with them that way.
That quote of mine is rather easy to find. It is my #1 upvoted.
I still salvage whites blues and sell greens. Greens have a higher vendor value so the mat is not likely going to be worth what I would loose on vendor it.
If you have multiple characters, the Maelstrom golem might be the best way to farm on a per hour basis as it spawns hourly and gives 20+ ores per kill.
But does that lockout per character/account?
I did the Golem twice one day, and the second time there was no chest at all. Maybe that was a bug, but I figured that I just wasn’t able to claim the chest again.
It is per characters. I’ve gotten them from fire elemental, jungle, wurm, golem and temple of dwayna on multiple characters on the same day. There does seem to be a bug(or maybe the dragonite just has a very high but not 100% drop rate like how you can get bag of wonderous goods or an trinket in dungeons) where you might not get the dragonite even if it is your first time doing it. Did the lyssa temple with a friend and she didn’t get any dragonite.
If this is indeed the case that would solve the alt problem. It would not surprise me if this is by design.
Is the chest for world bosses once a day per character?
The big chest that spawns is once per character per day. The one with the rare+ is once per account per day. The big chest is the one that contains the dragonite.
The bonus chest is once per account dragonite does not spawn in it. The per character per day is the one that spawns in the world. I actually had other players confirm what this player is stating.
Here is the information where I got in regards to the Daily chests. I have also seen players report they get the mats from the daily chest on multiple characters.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Upcoming-mega-boss-chest-change/first#post1656442
Yeah, the dragonite ore is per character on the meta boss events/temples/etc. It’s not bad with events like Maw, Golem, and Fire Ele that have a short reset cycle. The same with empyrean fragments and jumping puzzles (not sure on dungeons), but these drop in lesser amounts from what I’ve seen.
WvW seems to lack daily limits at all on at least the empyrean fragments although the amount dropped in wvw per capture is still low, as with JPs. I assume this is true for dragonite as well, but I’ve not done much wvw since the update. Dragonite also drops in small amounts from what I’ve seen.
The empyrean fragments are really the limiting factor here. I know a lot of people do the meta boss events, but going out of our way for jump puzzles isn’t as common. I like JPs, but I don’t want do those anywhere near as often as I do combat oriented events. Unfortunately, you have to do more JPs than events to keep your empyrean drops up with the amount of dragonite.
Thanks for confirming. The best way to get Empyreal Fragment is actually by Dungeons and fractals so that would be good information to find out. Interesting that there is no daily limit on WvW veterans and Towers. But they do have a time gate. It is just not as obvious. Best case scenario if they only dropped one or two you can get it once every about 12 minutes. However in all likelihood it is closer to one half hour to a hour if you are farming them.(Hard to do in WvW) Putting them in line with the 20 from dungeons.
You want grind I got it. Heres my shopping list. In order to have best in slot gear (regardless of whether or not you need BIS gear for the content thats out there, I dont care, I like having the best stuff), I need the following weapons:
Great Sword – for my fractal guardian
Bow – for my WvW warrior
Hammer – also my warrior
Dagger – my WvW thief
Pistol – for thief
Scepter – for my Fractal Guard, these will be his off hand set
Focus – my guard
Staff – my WvW mesmer
Scepter- mez
Focus – mez
Torch – mez
Great Sword – For my warrior for when he wants to do pve
Axe – my warrior
Mace – my warrior
Rifle – warrior
Staff – Be nice to have if I can ever get this far so I can take my guard into WvW
Mace – WvW guard
Shield – WvW guardThats just for 4 characters. And only for one or two builds of those 4 characters. If each weapon takes 2 weeks to get then it will be 36 weeks before Im done.
Before you call me entitled and lazy, and say that I want everything right away, Id like you to stop and think, and ask your self… Is there a middle ground somewhere between “right away” and 6 months. Cause thats what Im asking for. A middle ground.Thank you.
I think it is only 9 weeks. I think the mats used to make the Vision Crystal are obtainable once per day per character(As they drop from the daily chests. The mats that are time gated by crafting are purchasable through the trading post.
Here is the information where I got in regards to the Daily chests. I have also seen players report they get the mats from the daily chest on multiple characters.

The point is that the Gw2 community wants everything instant. Farm is boring, give us 1 legendary per player via mail!
B… b… but what about my alts! And I need different weapon sets!
With alts the problem is solved.
I am starting to think the only time gated item that is not sellable on the trading post (Vision Crystal) is actually time gated by 1 per day per character.
Different weapon sets well………….. Can’t help you there.
And yes I know you are being sarcastic.
So ever since Ascended stuff came out everyone’s been screaming that the game turned into a huge grind. So…… where is that grind?
On paper, Ascended stuff looks like a hugeass list of mats to put on your to-grind list but if you just look at what it actually is, it’s basically stuff you get from playing any of the major contents of the game. Comparing it to a grind is like saying every Zelda game is a grind for pieces of the Triforce/whatever else is in its place.
There is a very subtle difference between a grind and not giving it to you on a silver platter.
You have to look at the bigger picture .. not only ONE Weapon, but maybe 3 weapons and 6 pieces of armor in the next future. Oh and don’t forget people who have a lot alts and/or use more weapons and armorsets with different stats.
Actually it is not all that unfriendly to alts here is why.
World Event bosses and other chests drop once per character per day. This is where you get the mats from that are not tradeable.
The crafting timegate is bypassable though the trading post.
Perhaps the chest could drop a few guaranteed chap boxes like the Skarlet event did.
From storming the gates of Arah, I got…
…Nothing. Some bloodstone dust and a pile of greens from which my black lion salvage kits only gave me 3 ori.
Am I just the unluckiest adventurer in Tyria, or does the super-wizard with a legendary just not drop dragonite?
Dragonite comes from the event completion chests. The bosses don’t.
Please don’t remove Hotjoins.
They are great for PvPers who have real life distractions that might take them away from PvP at a moments notice and do not want to kitten off people in Ranked Solo when they need to go AFK for a minute.
Keep in mind with the removal of AreaNet Hotjoins the community will greatly change. Massively flooding out the overdramatic players.
There are multiple benefits for this.
1.) You can get matched up with players that are of your skill level.
2.) You get to feel a bit of progression of skill.
3.) Owning a Custom Arena’s will get more value.
4.) The tPvP community overall will get a massive influx of non-overdramatic players improving the PvP community at large.
In addition to that there will still be Hot Joins available they will just be player made.
The September 10th is when they’ll annouce what’s coming on September 17…that is the LFG tool, the new WvW season and the changes to T’quatl the Sunless.
WvW season does not happen until the 1st October patch.

I have noticed when salvaging I have to click multiple times for it to register(not clicking the kit). I have not ruled out my mouse is going out however.
These are all great ideas! They are very much inline with our direction for the game. The one thing I have to disagree with as-stated is #1: “Remove hot join.” Removing hot join means removing all custom arenas, which we will not do as they have many benefits. I understand why the community wants this; to have the majority of the player base shift to a more structured format like an unrated solo arena. The best middle ground I can see is removing all ArenaNet custom arenas.
Honestly I think removing all of the Hot Join would probably fix the problem. And I think the community(Except for the glory farmers) would be ok with this. As they are basically duplicates of solo-queue except they are unrated and often unevenly matched.

Will this living story tie in with the other living stories at some time or is this more of filler.
If it is filler that is perfectly fine. Filler every once in a while gives us a break and allows us to get back to the non living story part of the game.
Most everything on my list is expecting a update this year.
My number 1 would be LFG…. But that is coming on the 17th of things not expecting a update.
2. Targeting

Different teams to different things. It also may not be as high a priority as other things that team that fixes this is working on.
I know that the invasion event should still be happening as I did one after this last patch. I have heard rumors that they only go active every 3 hours. I don’t think this is the case though as I played for over 3 hours yesterday and did not see the event pop.
Also if you do fetch on http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scarlet%27s_Minions_Invade!/tracking
It shows the same status as it was when I checked yesterday.
Active on Fireheart Rise on the following servers:
Baruch Bay [SP]
Blacktide
Dzagonur [DE]
Far Shiverpeaks
Jade Sea [FR]
I figured that can’t be the case as the invasion events are on a timer. So either the API is bugged on the wiki. The API itself is bugged. Or the events are bugged.
So my question is for the people who play longer stretches how often do you think the invasion events are happening. And have you done or seen once since your last night.
The worst part of it is getting crafting from 400 to 500.
After that actually making a weapon is kind of easy. The 2 week time frame they gave during the live stream last week is pretty close for some one who can play but maybe not 5+ hours a day.
Ya I agree someone just playing the game as long as it is not focused on personal story hearts or regular Dynamic events(They really need to increase the rewards of the events just out there in the world) Someone could get it easily in 2 weeks time if they play less then 5 hours a day. A month if they are really casual.
One thing for sure, the Dark Matters are NOT something I’d get naturally over time as people play the game. Those you need to get out of you way to grind.
After doing a bunch of world events last night I can see why people are the most concerned about dark matter. Luckily we do not need that many of them.
And for the BiS for WvW argument. I am currently running around in rares and doing just fine. The gap between exotic and ascended is even less.
(edited by anzenketh.3759)
I think they need to have different stats but yes.
Ascended gear is not as bad as people make it out to be. If you are following the crafting guides they are highly inflated. For multiple reasons. One being that the market is not quite stable yet. It went though a bit of a shock. Also It only feels extremely bad as you are already 80 and thought you were done.
Interesting tip: With WvW you can get the mats for ascended gear easier then PvE. Why? Because you don’t have to wait for timers and it is one per location. And you get it just by playing the game. PvEers have to go complete multiple dungeons in vastly diffrent locations or wait for world event timers.
WvW see Interesting tip.
Some people enjoy crafting. I would rather have ArenaNet add more options, and not take away options other people enjoy.
I understand that but everything is craftable in this game so wtf? How does a legendary feel like a legendary weapon when it was crafted inside mystic toilet? This the main problem with all weapon skins but Fractal ones in the game. Why even give us mats needed to craft ascended weapons? just put the weapons directly on TP/gem store with each patch cuz its essentially what they’re doing… There’s nothing that feel rewarding when you craft weapon #2937 and the next 100 cuz they’re all from crafting stations…
Problem is they need to do it that way or a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 % chance. Looks how many people complain about the rate of gain on precursors.
Otherwise it is just not rare or progression.
“Crafting is all well and good” no no no and more NO. Crafting isn’t good or even fine. I did not buy a crafting simulation game, i’ve had enough of that in Dead Space 3… Crafting is ‘acceptable’ but only when the mats needed are farmable and farming in an over nerfed game isn’t the answer. Plus, that only applies to meh looking exotics. I do not want craft ascended gear or other flashy skins, but attain them buy playing hard content. Why can’t they give us a hard mission/dungeon where you collect relics (which aren’t available on TP/sellable), combine them for that brand new cool looking skin as an example? Why the f is everything TP related? Its so kitten annoying…
Dungeon armor is not TP related. That will give you exotics. Vision Crystals required to craft ascended is also account bound not tradable. You have to craft it.
I agree with one of the posters above. I think they are playing around with other acquisition methods perhaps karma is somehow in the mix. Crafting was done as the game needed some more sinks. That is what this most recent patch is for. Increase rewards but also increase sinks.
I also have a feeling that if the game launched with this in game when we get to 80 it will not be so bad. Might try to get a ascended piece on an alt with no help from my main to see how it feels.
By “with no help from your main”, I hope you include leveling your craft on your alt from 1 to 500 without any gold or saved mats from your main :p
Yep. That is exactly what I mean. However to properly I think buying a new game would be the best test. Not going to do it now. Or anytime soon. I barely have time to play the game as is let alone craft on a timegate. However….. I do have a feeling that it will not feel as bad as most of the wait is on the world event stuff like WvW and the like. Before you are level 80 as a new player you are just playing the game so you don’t have the NOW mentality as much.
The time gate is not in the crafting it is in the Vision Crystal that is account bound.
ArenaNet is not saying go grind they are actually saying the opposite. They are saying go do MOAR different stuff.
Makes me wonder If I did every location in the game All the temples,All the dungeons(Duno if different paths count as different locations) and all the world events in one day would I have enough to make a vision crystal.
I also have a feeling that if the game launched with this in game when we get to 80 it will not be so bad. Might try to get a ascended piece on an alt with no help from my main to see how it feels.
So contrary to what they initially claimed (that Ascended was planned all along), Colin specifically states in that interview that Exotic WAS supposed to be final tier and Ascended was added because they underestimated how quickly people would get Exotic.
Ignoring the fact that people like being able to get max stat gear quickly so they then only have to worry about aesthetics, here we have proven that ArenaNet did outright LIE back in November, and that Ascended WASN’T planned prior to release.
I don’t think Chris Whiteside actually said it was planned, a few people have pointed out recently that he qualified his statement back then with an IF.
Nevertheless what Colin says here doesn’t make sense:
1. Max stat gear was meant to be easy to obtain, it was cosmetics that were meant to be a grind.
2. Why make changes to make exotic gear easier to obtain after the Nov patch via karma jugs etc and increasing how many dungeon tokens were earned.
Quite simply by the time those were implemented they had planned to so something about how easy it already was.
I found out today that the Vision Crystal is account bound. This is not a Tier 6 mat. This is something that you are going to have to grind(or play a while) for.
https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/item_details.json?item_id=46746
This is where the time gate comes in. So before I get upset over this I need more data to form my opinion.
The items that do not have numbers do you get more than one at the following links.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Empyreal_Fragment
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dragonite_Ore
Also it looks like if you fail on world events you still get something.
Something else to think about does a different server count as a different location?
(edited by anzenketh.3759)
While he did get my question answered about hard mode dungeons (iamnemer is me
) I was quite disappointed in his response.
You can’t disagree with the response though. It has sound reasoning. Look at how fragmented the playerbase is in Guild Wars 1. I at times waited for a very long time for normal mode.
Guess I really need to start working on the dungeons some more before they buff them even more if I want to do all the paths of all the dungeons.
I think us players could also help out in this matter.
you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them.

If somebody was starting a discussion, and happened to link his stream as reference to a point they were making, that would be different. What’s been happening is his stream is linked either with no discussion or with a transcript of his stream. In either case those belong in linksville, as that is what that subforum is there for.
… Even when they’re concerning Structured PvP? That seems a particularly ill conceived rule, applied with little rational thought.
Do the links to the PAX tourney belong in Linksville, just because they’re links? Even though it was the games first cash prize Structured PvP tournament? I mean, that rule just sounds extremely silly.
The more I read your post, the more incredulous I get. That is a particularly awful and narrow minded view for forum moderators to have. It doesn’t take much in the way of rational thought to understand why a Link to a discussion about Structured PvP belongs in the Structured PvP forums. Are we supposed to go to a different sub-forum, watch the video, then bring comments back here out of no where?
Why would I be in Linksville if I was interested in talking about/hearing others views on Structured PvP? This is absolutely mind boggling. If you were following some rule when you moved it, it’s an asinine one that needs a re-examination, post haste. If it was a judgement call on your part, it’s my opinion that it was a poor one, and I hope in the future it isn’t repeated.
The links are not the problem. It is that they are not the OP original words with reference to links to prove the points or say who persuaded him/her that way.
Good example is when players talk about game design and link to Extra Credits to add credibility to the post.
The rule is more to prevent promotion threads. A promotion thread is “new video look. Here is a link/transcript.” Want to have a discussion about a video talk about what the video is ranting about then link to it.
It is hard to tell a difference between a promotion thread and I want to talk about what XYZ person talked about. To put it frankly want to discuss a video related to sPvP discuss the items in the video link to the video. I don’t think the Mods would be against that. At least that is what I got.
So SOAC gaming threads – which are just links to the twitch streams – should be moved out of the class subforums and into links vile? That’s just one example – the rule is too vague, and is not enforced consistently enough to justify moving helseths thread for that reason alone.
I do think consistency is a problem. Not much they can do though they are outmanned.

Is that good enough for you. Keep in mind in the open world there is no much other fail mechanism that they can use besides a wipe due to players need to be able to come back from defeated.
As for instanced…. I think we had some hard dungeons other paths may get harder in the future.
With the blessing of CC Danicia I shall discuss the mod’s actions in effort to give feedback on the process. I would not normally do this as it is generally a bad idea too anyways.
Xephs post was indeed a I quit thread.
I usually report those types of threads to the mods myself. I can not remember if I did in that case or not. I can tell you however that I remember stop and asking myself and put myself in the Mod’s shoes.
“Should this thread be allowed even though it is against the forums rules due to who Xephs is and what Xephs did for the community. To allow some players to give their respectful goodbyes.
Or should the letter of the law be followed. For if one post is allowed should not another. "
I hope that went through the mod’s mind when the post was removed. What the answer should be I can not say.
His second post however I did not see. So I can not comment. If I saw it and it was what it was claimed to be I would have emailed forums@arena.net. For that email has served me well in the past.
Personally I think I quit threads should be locked not deleted. They will usually get buried by themselves. Locking the thread also stops the negativity bandwagoners.
