Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!
Lord was hard to defend, now it’s impossible. I’ve seen that sucker get killed by a thief + power necro in 2 seconds.
Why do I think they planned this all along? Nevermind. I’m happy about it and really thinking to do the pre-purchase
They most certainly did not. The outrage did damage and it’ll take time to regain what was lost.
They had no choice. It’s the power of the consumer.
Now let the rage flow tomorrow with the balance changes. I hope to see many great respectful arguments tomorrow. /s
I hope that all the media who jumped on the news last week will put this statement out too.
Ask a refund………
Give.us.automated.tournaments.already………….
Pricerage one week, balancerage the other.
Business as usual.
Edit: a word
Build templates is obviously coming in the future, but probably won’t be in the expansion. They’ve been changing/simplifying/overhauling all the systems and slowly progressing to an inclusive system that would work well with build templates.
They’ve talked about it before. It’s not an easy feature in gw2. Especially if you want to do it good.
You couldn’t get a clear answer because they don’t have a fixed number yet.
I’d still want a GH regardless. They look awesome and they said playing as a pvpteam gives stuff for your GH.
Armorsets won’t be made for the gemstore anymore, only outfits.
That’s one change so far.
Who says they didn’t make some guild missions or thought about WvW?
They said playing as a pvpteam in pvp gives resources for your guild, etc. I assume there’ll be stuff for WvW too.
There are custom arenas and unranked queue for that.
Pve gear by the looks of it.
More premades….
They really destroyed pvp with the emphasis on casual/solo.
Gw2 gameplay and conquest/SH only shines when played in group. They should focus much more on teams, etc.
They are not planning to release a boxed edition.
“There is no boxed Ultimate Edition version of the game and no other editions of the game being offered beyond what you see on buy.guildwars2.com.
We have an FAQ that covers this and other questions you may have: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/94582027-Heart-of-Thorns-Pre-Purchase-FAQ”https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Boxed-Editions/first#post5156159
Edited to add, For Ultimate edition only.
Emphasis on Ultimate edition
It’s a big company. It’s a big outrage.
If there’s a statement coming out, it’ll take ‘some time’.
i cant believe this thread isnt like 20 pages yet, considering how kittening vocal the gvg crowd is o.O
They’ll probably won’t be happy because of whatever reason.
Too small, too big, lacks customization, no real GvG infrastructure for LB’s, no GvG specific balancing, etc. etc.
I wish instead just replacing the item, the stat became unlocked for that type of item, so you can switch between unlocked stats without having to constantly spend insignia.
Unlocks are always better.
Still, this is better than what we have now. That’s for sure.
That’ll be legendary armor probably.
+1 Thank
you for showing us the facts number don’t lie.
Need to take into account the context.
Gw1 and Gw2 are two very different games.
It’s a big company. These things take a bit of time. A few days isn’t much from their perspective.
Gaile did respond in the forums though.
You demand?
Hahahah
I was annoyed at the outrage at first, now I’m just having a laugh. Ty!

Just do a LFG to capture one if it’s really not possible with 8-10? Wouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
But alas, I foresee great whining because of the barrier of capturing a GH. I think it’s pretty cool though.
Y’all have never started/had a business, I assume.
Obviously the FAQ wasn’t clear, hence the complete outcry by the community and some of the insane arguments that are thrown around. They changed their FAQ to alleviate some of the confusion.
But hey, Anet is Illuminati and is taking over the world. /s
You are a delusional paranoia entitled gamer.
“They banned users then changed their mind once lawyers started to salivate.”
Like wtf, hahahaha….
Bye.
Send me your stuff.
It should have been free.
Because I’m an entitled gamer without making any valid arguments.
You pay half the price for the gems. You wanted them for free?
Are y’all complaining when they do promotions? Do you ask refunds years later when they sell the game for 10$?
Disgusted by this outrage.
If it’s too high for the content that’s currently on the plate, then that’s fair.
But the price is in the ballpark of expansions of other developers (give or take 10 bucks). The core-game being free is just another promotion focussed on attracting new players. Which is a good and awesome thing.
People up in arms already over the price. Sjeeez. It’s aimed at new players that the core-game is included.
You’re just paying the normal expansion price.
Lost me at ‘quitting school to become pro-player in gw2’.
After three years they’re finally gonna remove hotjoin <3 (as the first impression of pvp atleast).
Result: Way to many players are leaving for other promessing MMo’s or games. Yeah players do return when something new comes out. But soon after leaves again due that it does not deliver from all what the hype was about. Sad!
F2P won’t combat people leaving. They need to fix the reasons why people leave not try to add more and more people.
Pvp is still not in a state where I would advertise it to other pvp-fans.More the merrier.
And become jaded with the game only to leave and never return?
You’re probably the only one who just discovered it. :p
But I concur, it’s a cool feature.

Timer is an anticlimax every time. It limits the game too early, it feels completely wrong.
Also, there’s nothing explaining anything here…
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/pvpImmediately a few faq’s come to mind.
What are these “points?”
Why do I show a record of 0-1 when I know I went 19-12 in ranked last week?If someone clicks through to the essentially hidden LB’s they have to dig even further to understand what they mean/indicate.
If you want to truly enter eSports you’ll need more accessible boards.
Theres info on the wiki.
PvP and balance development seems to lack a coherent direction that it had for the first 18 months of the game. Look at not being able to queue outside the HOTM. Terrible, truely terrible.
Lol?
Pvp has been all over the place since release.
- Automated tournaments with divisions <— do gem revards.
Yes – That is if we can buy gems (tickets) for in game tournaments rather than having a third party set Tournaments up. ESL is a big esports site but they’re only really needed for sponsorship and advertisement purposes. I rather receive cash prizes rather than lame gem rewards. Remember, they don’t want to give away Gems because the Store is how they make most of their monies. There used to be Paid Tournaments that required tickets and gave gems as reward. Probably my favourite period of gw2 pvp. Those didn’t really work out though, as only a few teams ever made it past the first round. Everyone else was forced to farm Free Tourneys for tickets.
Having tons of gems was cool, facing same guys all day – a bit boring.
Good idea, wrong implementation. Really, all they have to do is copy GW1’s infrastructure. 3 times a day there’s an automated tournament with greater rewards.
Like F2P would help… This game has had huge numbers. They don’t stick. Pvp doesn’t stick. There are reasons for that (having to buy the game not being one of them).
Automated tournaments daily, weekly, monthly. Give lama’s as one of the rewards there. At least it’ll be tied to ‘skill’ rather than ‘time’.
Will never happen, but hey.
A competitive scene.
Since its inception there’s been a focus on the high-end and low-end while ignoring whats in between completely.
They keep pushing twitch/streams which I understand but if you have no1 playing/interested than you can push it all you want, it won’t be a succes.
Automated tournaments (daily/weekly/monthly), a better reward infrastructure (Skill over time, team over solo, pvp exclusives, etc.), a replay system (atleast for AT’s and other tournaments), better ladder (it’s still trash), etc.
And I just can’t hide it.
Couldn’t resist ^^
Start putting 1 dollar (or whatever currency you use) away every day for 60 days.
You’ll have enough money to buy HoT when it launches. With some luck you’ll have some change left.
It’s one thing to give an opposing opinion on the matter in a constructive way.
It’s another thing to derail the thread with a personal attack on the OP that is unrelated to the topic, and then to also present the idea that 10-20s are Zerg v Zerg and then claim that the entire idea will fail without stating any supporting reasons for either statement.
I did give reasons: splitting up queues is already a hot debated issue in Spvp as you need a decent population to fill those queues in order to get quality matches.
You guys use GvG, I use ZergvZerg. For me GvG will always be gw1 Gvg. I can use my own terms.
Congrats on 800 viewers on an event that gets streamed a few times a year. /s
Zerg v Zerg happens now occasionally but when you put it in a seperate gamemode, you’ll expect short queue times, quality matches around the clock.
Do you really see that happening?
Even more, people want 10v10, 15v15 and even 20v20. What are you gonna chose? Or you want all options? Splitting it even more?
I want to see it happen just to put the discussion to rest. I’ll guarantee you that it’ll fail.
Was it addressed what would happen with Condition/Boon durations? They did mention that conditions would be a bit more specific, so does that mean we won’t really see any non-specific durations anymore? And how will that work with WvW where people can reduce condition durations by such a massive amount?
Nope, they’ll talk about it some time in the future. :p
Again, teams drop out. A good number of them, so some teams who aren’t in right now more than likely will be down the road. It’s still a month out.
As for invites, I see what you’re saying and if we had as many teams that are “actual teams” as we had 6 months ago, I agree that would have been a wise decision. But given the fact that there are were very, very few stable teams prior to this week, that was just not possible. That would have been sending invites to individuals who would scrounge up 4 others as fast as they could, not sending out invites to invite a full team of 5.
And to be fair to you..and DPS…I don’t think anyone expected 64 teams within 7 hours. In future tournament, invites may be a solution for something like this.
I think these tournaments should promote actual teams to stay together…. something like guaranteed top 5 seed, depending on ESL cups.
The main reason im frustrated about this is because, every gw2 tournament up to now, has had some major issues ( and when i say major issues, i mean it literally changed the actual outcome of the tournament); with dps back and hosting this tournament, I had high hopes that they would get it right, with no surprise problems, a smoothly run tournament. I understand “problems” happen, but this many times in a row? This tournament is getting on the short (getting longer) list of guild wars 2 competitive scene failures. gl with the tourney turrent engi teams! <3
At this point the only failure is you not signing up, to be fair…. Just sign up and get on the waiting list. Most teams are pve/wvw heroes wanting a lama, there will be a lot of dropouts I’m guessing.
