This is fine until the first dungeon group insists on ascended weapons and the elitists start complaining that if you don’t have zerker ascended you are bad. As if gear = skill.
Tell them to take a flying leap then.
And those people and elitism existed in the game before ascended stuff was in the game.
Just look at the people who think having lots of AP somehow equates to being skilled at the game when all it really means is that you’ve played a lot.
Ascended gear hasn’t changed anything as far as elitism goes.
If all of that is true I’m wondering how not only did I not spend 200g to get my weapon smithing to 500 but I made over 20g doing it.
You’re either lying or an unusual case.
The only money I spent while getting to from 400 to 500 was on npc materials. But besides that I gathered all the materials myself.
“Play how you want”
“Equal playing field for all”
“No grind”
Ya right… There is only 1 reliable way to obtain ascended weapons… Crafting? Why… name a single game were end game gear is obtainable only through crafting. Not only that but you decided to go ahead and add 100 crafting levels, BUT were too lazy to add 425/475 recipes resulting in forcing people to use 400/450 recipes to level, making it cost so much that the majority of players will never earn that much. How much? The cheapest is just around 200g for ONE profession. Source: http://gw2crafts.net/weaponcraft_400.html
Not a single thing this patch addressed the major problem with crafting… the fact that you cannot in any way shape or form make money from any crafting prof, before it was just a means for rich players to level an alt to 80 in a day, now its just a means to grind for ascended gear.
Why were fractals completed ignored? Now we have 55 AR max but you were too lazy to remove the 50 cap (which was stupid in the first place, i cant even think of a logical answer for putting the 50 cap on fractals). Asceneded weapons could of cost 15-25 relics, giving people who like somewhat challenging PvE content a way to acquire asc weapons.
WvWvW? How about making ascended weapons purchasable via badges?
I mean this game pretty much became P2W/G2W after this patch, you can whine and say its only a 5%/10% increase, but its still goes completely against the GW philosophy to give rich/lucky/gem buyers a sizable advantage over the general population.
And this is coming from someone with 500 wpn smith / 472 soon to be 500 huntsman.
And before you say “B-But it can drop” realize the chance is somewhere around getting struck by lighting, but not only that you want to get struck by the lighting you want (stats). It’s nothing you would rely on.
If all of that is true I’m wondering how not only did I not spend 200g to get my weapon smithing to 500 but I made over 20g doing it.
Tequatl wasn’t fun before the changes and he isn’t fun now, except now there’s exactly zero reason to even go there anymore. So, uh, good job at discouraging people from certain content I guess?
I mean, what WAS the intention here? Because if they wanted to have WoW-style raid bosses, they should’ve gone with WoW-style instancing for it.
Tequatl wasn’t fun at all before the changes. Now, the fight is one of my favorite pieces of content in the game. Whereas before I had exactly zero reason to go there, I now love to get in on a fight about once every other play session. They did a very good job at discouraging certain people from certain content, yes.
The intention was to provide a challenging open world encounter requiring heavy coordination by large groups of players. Based on my understand of WoW-style raiding, which was heavily dependent on class slotting, a fixed maximum number of participants, and gear gating, it has little in common with this other than what I imagine was a similar feeling of satisfaction on success.
it’s frustrating and time consuming for the average player, not located in a full server nor in a huge guild
You have correctly identified a very cogent point; it is not intended for the average player to regularly complete. It is very difficult content.
However, if you are personally interested and are not on a server that is organizing for it, I highly recommend joining one of the kill squad guilds in your region. They seem to be very welcoming and provide many opportunities to get in on a kill.
Except for it’s not difficult. The entire difficulty of the fight relies on insane amounts of coordination which means 1 afker and 1 troll can ruin the entire fight for 100 other people.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Keep telling people “this isn’t for you, let the big boys have a go”, and they won’t bother playing the game any more if it keeps happening.
Don’t you see the short sighted ness of that?
For an open world event where masses of people have unrestricted access this sort of event is bad for the game pure and simple.
It doesn’t matter if there is a very small subset of players dedicated to killing it daily. I have neither the patience or interest in joining a large clan again just to be able to complete something that I used to be able to complete without the need for any of those.

As far as I’m concerned if there was any doubt something wasn’t going to be done in time they never should have mentioned it to begin with.
Anet deserves all the flak they get over it if the precursor crafting is pushed back to next year.
“Hey guys you know that thing we mentioned last year that everyone really wanted and we said we were working on but turns out we weren’t really and then now we’re working on again? Sorry, that’s getting pushed back even further but in the mean time enjoy round number 63 of RNG box goodness and a new glowy back item. Remember folks, buy those gems!”

What is mature can only be judged by a person for himself, the only thing you can do is accept the fact that others might like spark and fires without being immature or childish. Just tolerate it, dammit
Of course I tolerate it, as you should tolerate my opinion in the forums… at least, you don’t have to pug my opinion on your dungeons as I have to endure those looks on my screen on daily basis. I mean, its the forums after all, if you don’t like reading opinions then you are probably at the wrong part of the internet.
the day I see NPCs on the city wearing those neon wings or other sparky clothes I will stop posting my opinion on the matter (and probably move to another game).
Except for the part where your post literally had nothing to do with the original topic. No one asked what your opinion on flame legion gear was.
He asked if it was dye-able not if some random self important guy thought it should or should not be in the game.
An opinion of an opinion,.. you have to go deeper.
I’m curious to know how you can read:
“Just curious, is the fire/lava on the armor dyeable? Just curious.”
And come out with:
“Hey everyone please tell me how you feel about flame legion armor and the maturity level of those who like it”.
There is no opinion involved. It’s a yes/no question.

It might sound equally harsh, but the habit of brushing away valid points against broken systems with the “It’s not meant to be easy” line is getting a tad old, really.
Particularly since I already said that I don’t want this to be easy.
The three methods you keep defending so vigourously are
a) Sheer luck.
…
b) Gambling.
…
c) Actually farming money like a Chinese goldfarmer. What you don’t seem want to see is that methods b) and c) are virtually identical. Both require you to stupidly farm large amounts of money, except that b) comes with a gambling component that might either lower or raise the total price you’re paying. It’s again nothing you can control. On -average-, this method isn’t any cheaper than outright buying it.
You’re covering your eyes and ears, uttering the mantra “There is no problem” because you don’t want to see it. Fine, I can’t keep you. shrug
That’s not exactly a fair summary of my feelings.
Actually, I’d say A & B are more akin. Both are mechanics of RNG (kill for drops; drops/carft/buy for MF)/
I’ve argued elsewhere that RNG is a fair mechanic- that’s where i’m coming from.
Now, perhaps it’s a bit clearer why I don’t consider this situation problematic?
Yeah, totally fair that some one can get a precursor on their first toss into the mystic toilet and be set for life (in game) and then the next person dumps hundreds and maybe thousands of gold into it without anything to show for it except an empty wallet.
And the second scenario happens far more often than the first.
Totally and completely fair.
I know exactly why I failed it despite hours of effort: I turn by moving my mouse on the pad. Constant turning to the right = running out of pad. Time tolerances are too tight in the Tower to let me lift my mouse back to the left as I can in any other part of game play.
That’s on me, I’ve never mastered WASD (and on an aside, it perplexes me that the same people touting WASD laugh at keyboard turners, at least in other games). I doubt I ever will. The Tower certainly made me exponentially better at all other puzzles, though! Nowadays I use my mesmer to help JP impaired people get JP achieves on a regular basis and it feels soooo nice to have the skill to help.
So for me -personally- a revamp that has the path twist right and left would be better than a racing spiral in one direction but then it wouldn’t be the Tower any more.
Sounds to me like you need to either mess with the in game camera settings or your mouses sensitivity.
Or get a bigger mouse pad.
You would think people would just get things but I guess you have to break it down…
1) For the quest line to be available to that particular character hey need the gold star next to their name. This will prevent people from doing it on multiple characters without exploring the whole world
2)Dungeons may not be all to difficult but finishing all the paths would help with your legendary status hence deserving of a legendary item.
3)You don’t need to be a master crafter to make a legendary just of a few particular ones pending on what item you are going for. But being a master of all trades would also help with your legendary status hence deserving of a legendary item.
4)This is to restrict people from just farming the first two and having them actually go out and play the game and accomplish tasks like achievements helping with your legendary status hence deserving of a legendary item.
5)2000 badges of honor because you need some sort of monetary cost to get the item and what better than showing your skill in the fields of wvw. Earning 2000 badges would help your legendary status hence deserving of a legendary item.
After achieving all of those things you would be able to activate a quest line that at the end of that quest line you would be rewarded with your precursor only truly costing you 2000 badges of honor along with what it took you to become a master crafter.
The list that makes “no sense” has to deal with your character becoming a legend. Not anet gifting precursors to people because they feel they deserve them. Just a heads up I don’t even meet all the criteria on this list but I think it seems fair.
Just putting this out there…why do I need to know how to make a leather coat or a veggie pizza to forge a sword? It literally makes no sense.
I get what you’re trying to go for, but I think we can come up with something new that doesn’t reuse things that are already used in the creation of a legendary weapon.
If anyone wants to see how it should be done if it has to be done at all look up the mini black moa from GW1.
Anet is capable of making a fun quest if they decide to put the effort in to do so.
They should remove all fire armor/weapons from the game. They look childish. Just let us throw water buckets at them.
Childish? Not unlike saying something is childish because you don’t like it therefor it should be removed from the game?
the whole concept is childish, what are you? the new born satan? I understand a necro with rags but whenever I see (example) a ranger with cof armor is like… what is that? a ranger? on fire? with fairy wings? and a lightsaber? kitten is this game? is everyone a demon or a fallen angel?
It’s called fantasy? As in no basis on reality? I’m still failing to see how something is childish just because you don’t like it.
If we play by that rule you are being childish right now. See where I’m going with this?
Of course its fantasy, but even in fantasy we all accept certain rules… if spiderman starts flying you would call it out. So im calling out people on fire in this game.
Besides, I’m quoting this part of the manifesto trailer which was one of the things that lured me into this game:
Daniel Dociu: “The look of Guild Wars 2 is stylized. We’re going for a painterly, illustrated aesthetic. Everything in our world feels handcrafted and artisanal. We treat our environments as if they are characters themselves.”
At this point we are just one step away of that asian free bad looking mmo with floating crystals bonded with lightnings…. oh wait!
Don’t know what to tell you. Your personal aesthetic preferences aren’t universal and you would probably feel better if you stopped thinking they were.
Obviously some people like the style and it’s pretty kitten immature to say they’re childish for doing so.
And the thing you quoted was in reference to the areas. The big hint there is the word environment. I’m sure you’re aware of this but there are large portions of the world that feature fire in one form or another? Specifically the flame legion stuff. Odd how that works out.

Do events Do hearts but I stay away from dungeons cause you need a crap ton of people to even get through them and I do not want my exp split amoung people or people tagging monsters and me getting nothing for killing and yeah I have heard that does not happen in this game but I have watched it seen it and proved it time and again. So I will get leveled up one day its no big deal. When I am level 80 and getting EXP means nothing I will start doing other things. Until then I guess I miss out on content and such cause I am not about to have to gather a group of people I do not know and give them my exp and loot.
You’re being dense. There is no exp leeching or loot stealing in any form in this game. Mobs are meant to give little to no experience relative to your level. It’s designed that way.
Also once you clear a path for a dungeon you get about 3/4 a bar worth of exp. So that alone makes it worth the time they take if you’re looking to level.
And I hardly consider four people a “crap ton”.
It almost seems like you’re trolling at this point but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Do them still gives me nothing 26 exp- about 126 exp which is little to nothing to a level 44 or higher.
Killing mobs was never meant to be an efficient way to level up. You need to do hearts and events. Especially events. Those 2 things will get you get most of your levels. Also unlocking new areas and gathering probably give more experience than killing everything that moves.
And later when you’re well off you can craft your way through some levels.
I think it should be a quest line that requires a few criteria to initiate.
1)100% world Completion – on that character
2)Dungeon Master
3)Master Crafter
4)Over 5,000 Achievement Points
5)2000 Badges of HonorThis would make people just play the game and every aspect of it. You could only do the quest line once per character that has 100% world completion. All weapons received this method would be instantly account bound and once the legendary was made it would be made account bound on craft so people could not make money off of them. This way there would still be a decent market for the RNG dropped precursors.
Why such arbitrarily random requisites? You can get four of those things on the list well before you ever get to 5000 AP so I don’t see how any of that fits. You may as well just cut it down to one – 5000 AP.
And you already need to have done most of those things anyways (except for the AP and dungeon master) to make a legendary so the list makes even less sense.

Trahearne. #1 Glory Thief NA and possibly world.
The problem with making precursors easier to get is that you directly make legendaries easier to get. And they are already very commonly seen.
I would be fine with making precursors easier to get if they also increased the mats needed for the other parts of the legendaries like the gifts.
Personally, the hardest part BY FAR for me when I crafted my Bolt was just getting the gold for the precursor. I don’t think it should be that way.
I’m not seeing the problem here? It’s not like it still won’t take a monumental amount of effort and dedication to get a legendary.
I’m not sure why people think only a select few deserve to have a legendary. And “because it’s supposed to be rare” is a stupid answer.
People worry way to much about what other people have and how much they can profit instead of what should be fun. Throwing an unending supply of junk into a magic toilet is not fun, simple as that.
(edited by fellyn.5083)
It doesn’t make sense because in the long run people will just craft them and precursors won’t even have a market value.
This is something that I am afraid of. Everything on my account has been paid for by the people who bought their precursors off the TP. Once they introduce precursor crafting and slowly all precursors drop to 200g, how am I supposed to make money off the forge? 200g is being generous. What if they drop even lower? Wtf Anet don’t do this to me
Are we supposed to care that you won’t be able to or can’t make money off of other peoples backs?
As far as I’m concerned precursors should never have been allowed to be sold on the market in the first place.
I’m glad that people who have thousands of gold just because they’re lucky will soon see the floor falling out from underneath them.
Nothing brings a bigger smile to my face seeing that red arrow on my BLTP notifying me that somebody who probably grinded 800g for Dusk has just made me even richer thanks to a few mouse clicks.
Also, you only say they shouldn’t be allowed to have been sold cause you never got a precursor. If you had gotten 1 as a drop you would probably come onto the forums saying something like, ‘’You should seriously let us sell these things. When am i going to make a legendary staff if I main warrior?’’
Btw my floors cant fall out from beneath me. I got marble floors in my Divinities reach mansion. Pleb
You assume a lot, most of it wrong. You’re exactly the kind of player that precursor crafting, whatever form it takes, is designed to combat.
Nothing brings a bigger smile to my face than knowing players like you are going to lose their strangle hold over the market when precursor crafting hits.

Why are so many people on this forum obsessed with making the game “harder”?
I’m all for challenging but when you’re replacing content we have now with new “harder” content that’s where we’re gonna have a problem.
P.S. I think the new TA path is the first piece of real challenging content we’ve had since release.
People were asking for nerfs right after Tequatl was updated, but it still ended up being an incredibly awesome fight- this game needs more challenging content, not less challenging.
And how many people bother with him now? Not very many is my guess.
While I enjoyed my time in the new path last night even though we didn’t finish it I don’t think the game needs more content like Tequatl. He may as well be temporary content if no one bothers with him anymore.

Before the end of the year. Unless they feel like breaking their promise.
No more painful on the eyes than their first rendition.
Then again, I am probably the only person on the planet that rather disliked Cantha and Factions as a whole. I’d be perfectly fine with GW2 never going back there.
Put me in that boat too. I prefer the look of Elona and the stuff they added in the Eye of the North to Cantha. I’m not sure why people are so focused on it to be honest.
Hey! They managed to fix charr main hand weapon shrinking issue. We can cross that one off the list!
I was genuinely surprised when I logged in yesterday and saw that my weapons didn’t resize when I put them away or when I jumped.
Anet slightly redeemed yourselves. For now.
Bridge the gap shouldn’t mean eats up the mats you were going to use for your legendary…. just sayin’
Except for getting the crafting level from 400 to 500 building an ascended weapon doesn’t use any materials that you would use to make a legendary.
Why is it a shame it’s a gem store item? It’s something that people will pay for it they want it but it’s not needed.
That being said, I won’t be buying it because it’s not infinite use.
Because it’s a money grab pure and simple. People have asked for this feature since release.
GW1 had the exact same issue and they changed it so we could respec in any outpost for free.
It’s a pretty kitten move.
lol, clipping issues/etc. isn’t why MOST people aren’t playing a Charr engineer.
So you managed to ask everyone who plays the game and is not playing a charr character how they feel on the subject?
Impressive.
I don’t know. I seem to remember reading stuff about humans in most MMOs being the most played race. I’m pretty sure that the further something diverges from a human, the less people play it.
I should try to find the references, but it’s late.
All I know is that I’ve seen quite a few comments from people who said they rerolled their charr because of all the clipping issues (mostly tail and horns/main) and armor stretching over the last year.
I’m am in no delusions that these comments represent any sort of majority or even a minority but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter who plays what or what their reasoning is/was.
It’s pure laziness and they should be held accountable for it. It really is that simple. I fear the kitten storm that will take place when they make a new beastlike race (lookin at you tengu). If they can’t get it right a year after release they won’t bother getting it right in the future.
Having more work to do than you can do in a requisite amount of time does not equal laziness. It equals being understaffed. You can call them lazy if you want, but really,. how do you know? Are you suggesting they’re not hard at work on other things? And if they are hard at work, are they really lazy?
See, that’s the problem. We know they are hard at work. Making things no one wants. Like new back item #132 (which looks terrible on charr, surprise surprise).
And I call them lazy because they said it’s not worth their time to deal with the charr issues.
Charr are fugly. It goes beyond a few clipping issues, they’re a messy, (now I feel like im being racist), awkward, boring race to play.
Thanks for sticking to the discussion instead of telling a bunch of strangers your personal preferences for what you like to play in video games (which has nothing to do with the topic that’s being discussed).
Lol, you’re welcome. Touchy much? It has everything to do with the topic. I’m saying that what the op thinks is a major issue, isn’kittens a discussion forum, I can voice my opinion if I want to, thanks.
Your opinion. Yes. No one asked you how cute or ugly you think a certain race is. We’re talking about long standing bugs and design choices that have nothing to do with personal opinion.
And then there is the fact that you said they were ugly and boring just to be spiteful to the people who do like them.
lol, clipping issues/etc. isn’t why MOST people aren’t playing a Charr engineer.

I have a couple charr and an engineer (one character is both of these things) I haven’t noticed any glaring issues or bugs. In my opinion these issues with how low the number of players using them can be summed up honestly like so:
Charr don’t have cleavage.
Engineers take more effort / patience to play like other classes.Same reason there aren’t as many Mesmers. It’s a complicated class that’s less rewarding up front.
So you never noticed how your charrs tail magically pokes through his armor? Or that his hair disappears when he puts on a hat? Same with his horns? Or that if you equip a 1 hand weapon it will magically shrink? Or the many many stretching issues because pretty much all the armors in the game were made to fix human skeletons and not charr?
But yeah, no cleavage so all our complaints are moot.
lol, clipping issues/etc. isn’t why MOST people aren’t playing a Charr engineer.

I dislike the blue too. I would prefer more neutral colors, black, grey, white, etc so they are easier to match with armor dyes of all colors.
Yeah, but we have so many cool blue weapons already.
That’s the point.
lol, clipping issues/etc. isn’t why MOST people aren’t playing a Charr engineer.

While I am sorry there are no Charr updates or engineer updates, I can’t really hold it against them. Such things take time. We’re getting a large balance patch in a couple of weeks. Perhaps they will address some of the engineer cosmetic issues at that point. We don’t know.
Still, I would think that these types of changes would fall on different teams, and that cosmetic ‘fixes’ would be further down on the priority list. Not sure what I think about new hair-dos, although admitted I’m one of many that has been asking for a few more options for Sylvari and Asura since….well, beta. Such things might actually be easier than the fixes being requested, and they opted to simply get them done and thrown into the game while they continue on the others.
We really don’t know the whole story. We don’t work there.
How much time do they need? Most of the issues have been around since the betas. And then there are completely new ones in the last month or two like the charr main hand weapons shrinking magically.
So again, how much time do they require? They sure as hell can make things worse at the drop of the hat so how much time do we have to wait for them to get better?
Hell, charr still leave footprints in snow that go in the opposite direction the character is facing. And that would be such an easy thing to fix. It would literally take them about 15 seconds to fix it. But no, we have to stare at that kitten for more than a year now.
And the end of the day it’s pure stubborn laziness on anets part and they should be embarrassed. If they wanted to they could probably fix all the problems revolving around charr and engineers inside of a week.
And we do know what the whole story is. They flat out said it’s not worth their time to fix. There is nothing to interpret or guess at.

Max size charr character.
Did it in less than half an hour.
Never saw a complaint my character was taking up to much space.
I think people use that as a poor excuse to justify their failing the puzzle. After 3 or 4 jumps most people die and it’s clear sailing the rest of the way. Learn the first 1/4 of the tower and it’s pretty easy from then on.
You shouldn’t actually need to see the jumps to make it. Besides that if you stop to look for the next jump you were going to slow anyways.
I’m not trying to rag on people who had a hard time with the puzzle but the difficulty of it was it’s charm.
I would agree with less of a waiting time after a failure though. Waiting is the worst part.
P.S. I would love to do it as a clockwork knight, but ya know…that kitten thing only lasts 5 minutes. Food for thought Anet!

Percentage of players who play charr and engineers combined. My guess is less than 25%.
Percentage of players who use hair. 100%
I’m not thinking that Anet’s priorities are wrong, in spite of the fact I would welcome fixes to charr and engineers also.
Actually according to Arena Net’s only released numbers at the end of “year one” it is 23%, not accounting for possible overlap. Engineers are listed as 10%, with charr only being 13%. Hence why Arena Net has all but admitted that they feel comfortable completely ignoring us. Or at least that they can get away with deprioritizing us in favor of “wider reaching issues.” This of course creates an endless cycle of crap.
*Players don’t play certain characters because of the problems.
*Arena Net puts less time into fixing those problems because of how few people play those characters.
*So fewer players play those characters.
*So Arena Net puts less time into fixing those problems.
*So fewer people play those characters. And so on and so forth…sooner or later the charr/engineer population will drop to zero; it is the only logical outcome. And the sad thing is Arena Net won’t even care.
I think you overestimate how many people aren’t charr for that reason. And I have and love my charr and don’t really notice the problems.
The percentage of people who think about or notice this stuff is pretty small….from personal experience.
Be that as it may it’s seriously lazy and they should be ashamed of themselves.
If I was an armor designer for GW2 I would be outright embarrassed that the uppers are letting those things go.
Let’s not also forget to mention Charrs magic shrinking main hand weapons. That one has got to be an extremely easy fix.
Anyways, where did they say we’re getting new hair styles? I’m glad I’ve saved my free hair style and character remodel kits.

I dislike the blue too. I would prefer more neutral colors, black, grey, white, etc so they are easier to match with armor dyes of all colors.
funny how at the same time some people are complaining that it ikittenoo hard xD
the game finally has 1 hard enemy and people complain lol
what do they lose??
nothingif the enemy ikittenhat hard that noone can beat him then noone else will get the rewardkittenoo
and if an organized group managekitteno kill the bokittenhen they deserve the rewards
i jukitten dont see any reason why people would complain
if they want easy bossekittenhen they should kittenick with shatterer, jormag and all the other world bosses
but that doesnt deserve to give good rewardkittenhen…
Actually we did lose something. I’ll let you think real hard about what it is.
Currently, the only reason that I see would be a reason for an increase to level cap would be to expand on the trait system.
Even then, bigger numbers doesn’t mean better content. I personally don’t have a need to see bigger numbers on my screen. I would much rather prefer focus on actual content and mechanics.
With up/down scaling in place, it doesn’t really make a difference what level you are. You will always feel on par with what ever you are doing. A level increase wouldn’t change that.
As far as progression, to do it vertically only bloats the numbers. As you increase in power, so does your enemy. Bam, might as well call that what it is…“power creep”.
Open world content just doesn’t need it.
Raid systems make use of it to keep players playing gated content. There are others ways to simulate this effect. Ascended has kind of done that with AR.
If you wanted to add to this when or if Raiding appears, you should have two versions.
1. Story mode-so players can see the content with minimal rewards.
2. Non-story with exclusive rewards. New skins (Armor sets/Weapon sets)with additional AR or resist slots. You could even add slots that increase your ability to gather mats with picks/axes/sickles.From discussions I’ve had about this game, it seems more people want additional skills/weapons/armor skins than anything. Hardly ever do I encounter the “we need more levels” topic.
They’ve already confirmed that we’ll be getting new traits (along with new skills) in 2013 so you can scratch that reason off your list.
Rejected unanimously by the GW1 veterans.
Speak for yourself. I played GW1 from release pretty much and a level cap increase wouldn’t bother me all that much.
Female Human with white hair, playing a Thief all in dyed in black, with a Japanese name.
Delete your character please
I didn’t know we were all supposed to make our characters according to your preference and standards.
I don’t have a female human thief with white hair all dyed in black yet but I’m going to make one just to annoy people like you.
No you won’t, you say you will but you wont
Probably true but it’s the thought that counts.
It’s only a vocal minority of people who post on the forum that feel that way. The majority of people are playing the game and are perfectly okay with it..
So what’s the purpose of a forum?
1: Game is great!
A:NET = Thanks for the response, we appreciate it
2: Game sucks!
A:NET = You’re just a vocal minority. Those who enjoy the game don’t go to the forumsSay WAT!
I thought it was a pretty widely known thing that only a small portion of the player base bother with posting on the forums.
Yeah, that’s what they say. They also say the forums were full of people demanding gear grind shortly after launch, which is why we got ascended gear. Funny how that works.
Fair point. But just because complaints happened to align with a decision that Anet came to doesn’t nessarily mean the complaints on the forum held sway over that decision.
We won’t ever know until Anet tells us. And they won’t.

yeah i know about next week’s “dungeon”. All the past ls dungeons seemed boring (never did molten facility but i watched strifes video and i could hear it in his voice how painful it was to go through it). Also they still havent fixed any of the bugs in the paths or revamped encounters.
That is something I agree with.
Thats not the point. Just because its a minority thats speaking out doesnt mean their arguments arent valid or that the general population wouldnt like those ideas. The general population from what i have seen dont care what comes out just that theres something new to do (thats not a dungeon because for some reason people dont like dungeons and neither does anet).
This comment is especially ironic considering the update next week revolves around a dungeon.
I wasn’t aware I said anyones arguments weren’t valid. I just said that by and large the complainers on the forum don’t speak for anywhere near the majority.
But as far as the manifesto and ascended stuff goes I look at it like this. No matter what anet did some one would complain. Just look at the AP rewards for a perfect example of that. Anet literally gave away a bunch of stuff to people for free and people complained about it. So for one person it could be the most mind blowing amazing game ever made but for the next it could be the worst.
See where I’m going with this..? People were going to complain no matter what they did. But at the end of the day they had to do something.

….
The gap is the investment in how long it takes to get. Before ascended stuff one of the biggest complaints we saw on the forums the first 2 months after release was that exotics were to easy to get.Say what? I read the forums quite a bit and have not come across this complaint ever, much less one of the BIGGEST complaints the first 2 months after release. More spin bullkitten from the powers that be?
Links please or it never happened.
It was, believe it or not. And I don’t care enough to do the research but you’re more than welcome to.
but do they HAVE to be different?
Yes? What is the point of making a game and having it be exactly like the last game you made? If you love GW1 so much you can still play that game you know?
(edited by fellyn.5083)
So it all still comes down to players being generally unhappy with the introduction of a higher tier of gear? I mean, how is that a deterrent from playing the game? In fact, I’ve heard from so many that the skins aren’t even something to really gawk over so why the big fuss?
Good luck to you guys who seem so utterly dissatisfied with the game all the time. If something makes you unhappy constantly, logic would have it that you move on to something else. Bar the recent lag/disconnect issues and certain bugs in-game, this game is a gem.
It’s only a vocal minority of people who post on the forum that feel that way. The majority of people are playing the game and are perfectly okay with it.
You just watch, some one will reply to this and be like “but my entire guild of 482 people all quit because of it! Anet done goofed!”. Which is a claim not even the person who made it can back up with any sort of proof.
