Ya know, I really like her mane.
you people ….. ….. i better not even complete this sentence actually
Also; Here’s what I don’t get about TA and never have…
Ya go in there, and everything’s Green as heck, unless ya go the “easier” path to the left then it’s ugly grey/brown with Recluse spiders & other icky stuff…. BUT THE WEAPONS ARE PINK/PURPLE
I think Anet wanted to give the community a couple of weeks to work the kinks out in our approach to fighting Tequatl. Remember the tears we cried when we all first went through the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon but ultimately came to the point of farming them.
Many of us Gw1 players weren’t impressed. Infact a number of us beat it in Beta.
The people who were having issues, already quit long ago.
There’s a reason the dungeon forum is always either dead, or trolling itself.
yeah….
And their meaningful conclusion after seeing so many people rage quit the overflows
… is what?
Does that mean Anet thinks there are problems with the Tequatl fight?
Was about to make this same exact post…..
When something is trending well for them, they’re all over it like Skritt on Shinies
….Instead here, you barely heard from any of them, and there’s already a TA-A forum now opened which tells us they also just want to get this disappointment behind them.
.
It’s a lot like the Dynamic Events subforum itself right now. …You’d expect something that’s the biggest selling point of the whole game, to have a lot more Dev or atleast CR presence in it….. NOPE, chuck testa
.
So my prediction on this remains the same: It will die off completely once ahievements are achieved by 1/3 of the population while the other 2/3’s quietly moans that they felt cheated here…. then eventually there will be a patch that scales back this silly and incredibly NON-challenging encounter (which is only mistaken as being challenging by those who don’t know how to MinMax for a DPS test against the clock)
…Instead of …y’know, actually making it really fun and challenging like some of the better fights in Deep/FOW/UW were….
(edited by ilr.9675)
you forgot one:
Character Slot Expansion for 800 gems = 38g24s00c for 80 slots = 47s80c per item.
This is actually going to be my next step now that I already have both a private guild stash and several extra banks & bag tabs….
(I prefer to diversify).
…though I don’t think I’m going to do it with gold—>gem conversion.
I hate to say it, but I’m really starting to get tired of making “chinese sweatshop wages” in this game like it was some SOE propery, to get stuff that european or american residents gets for 1 hour of work. I like a challenge, don’t get me wrong, but I know where to draw the line as well.
I don’t even have to make the $10-$20 doing something I hate, I could just as easily do something I like/find equally challenging (graphic illustration for one…)
TLDR:- is anet manipulating the trading post that’s supposed to be player driven?
No.
Awesome and your source?
The fact that a while ago, Plat ore was ~25c 8c each =P
…and there was actually a glut of it even before that
If you looked closely, you’d see Mithril is doing the same thing more or less right now.
(It used to be one of the pricier metals before we got this “Everything that drops for upper levels in level 50 or lower zones is inexplicably a level 80 item” which I personally think should be throttled or somewhat rolled back so Mithril can regain some value)
(edited by ilr.9675)
What I’m gettin’ at here… and I hope I don’t have to elaborate on (I prefer brevity b/c most people dont read walls of text or they only skim over it and then shove words in your mouth just so they can Forum-PVP over something incredibly dumb) … is that the impetus behind this “Disequilibrium” in the first place, was some ridiculously short term Impulse-buy spree on couple T7 mats but meanwhile if you look at the sheer volume of Bots running around Cursed Shores, it’s pretty clear the Gem trade still isn’t going in the direction the rest of the casual hoped for.
I’m not sure what direction you’re hinting at, because, as a casual, I want gems to be as expensive as possible. It allows me to use my real world income to supplement the low gold income due to my casual time schedule.
TL:DR; casuals want gems to be expensive. You agree?
Well see the confusion here, you may be unintentionally injecting, and I’m sure Smith is aware of it too…. is that there’s 2 types of casuals. There’s the Profesional-In-Real-Life variety such as yourself, and then there’s the flaky “I already spent all my walmart wages on the steamsale & the latest COD clone” casual who’s always just bouncing around between games. …Or they’re still playing WoW on the side and being even more impulsive there. Both are casuals in that they dedicate limited time to habitual play in this game. And Both are sadly required to maintain a healthy peak population and rapidly flowing commerce …or what economists call “liquidity”.
I personally have always stated that 100 Gems should be costing atleast 5g and have found them to be either possibly manipulated, or undervalued these past 3 months. (ever since COF farming got overly popular). Meanwhile casuals in that second camp, continue to complain they’re just too expensive for their meager Gold-farming capabilities to afford in the volumes they’re like them to be …. typically citing their costs of 30s per 100 when the game first came out. So yes, for anyone making more than minimum wage IRL, 1 hour of your time buying 20 hours of “fad-gamer’s” time, is always a bonus and not even “inflation” by definition.
30g???
If that’s what you consider lucky, than I’d hate to see what you consider a rip!
And no I ain’t a TP flipper. Infact I don’t even farm in this game like I did in Gw1.
This is just common sense here…. add up how long you hadda spend per day gettin the FDaily. I spend half that time just doing some temples or mindless wandering in mid-level zones while pickin’ herbs. I get constant changes of scenery, some nice little challenges, AND enough valuable mats to either sell directly or Forge for 50g easily. Since this summer I’m up to 400g raw profit just doing that. (which I spent 3/4’s of on a buncha Skins & Ascended crafting and even some gems)
And even I know, that if you wanna gamble?? …get the T6 mat bags isntead :p
(edited by ilr.9675)
Why is there no News on this?? This is actually a BIG DEAL. …especially with the threat of more Ascended gear continually being added.
Some people say you get these for Zone completion…. those people wouldn’t know their Skritt Burrow from Pockmark Flats. ….don’t even matter if it’s only 20% off, anything’s better than full price for getting this UNNECESARILY rare tool for maintaining the preferred look of our character.
They could atleast mention it in those news blurbs while they’re talking other gemstore junk
^Yeah that pretty much sums it up.
Not to mention: You don’t deserve a straight up damage buff in the first place just b/c you clicked a little blue button on your screen somewhere. That’s not how you should earn more damage back. Damage should always be a reward for coordination and reflexes. Not just a permanent buff you get b/c you pushed a button once. (even awful zerker warriors have to put more effort in than that)
like I posted elsewhere, I’m seeing an increase in ectos if anything this update…
No see that’s the entire point, I already do that stuff the same way you’d “win” this, b/c it’s all there is to do… Even on ranger I’ll have 3400 attk power and 9-10 stacks of might SOLO…. B/c that’s how 99% of all combat in this game is won.
And in the rest of the game, it doesn’t usually fail just b/c some people are a scepter camping guardian yellin’ “I play how I want!” …
No this is literally the entire game right here and it’s time for them make the REST OF THE GAME they always promised us …. the game that was more like Gw1 where there was more than 2 builds to run for every (well almost every) Class.
(edited by ilr.9675)
No fight does so long as they keep reusing the same exact mechanics for “Efficient Combat”, over and over and over again. The only thing missing here from Anet’s “Golden Recipe” is a bouncer at the door rejecting anyone who isn’t a PVT Warr or Timewarp Mes
What’s actually disappointing here, is that it seemed like they were finally starting to branch out into some more interesting fight mechanics with Molten & AetherRetreat. …NOPE, we’re right back to this stupid crap again… Stack & dodge a couple big hits that are really far apart, and focus everyone 100% on power/might meta. …zzz…
(edited by ilr.9675)
Feel some of the questions were leading….
But that’s the case with most surveys, it’s really hard to construct well-stated options that all have equal plausibility behind them
Is NSP still having a ton of trouble too?
That one really surprises me b/c they seem to have their stuff together when it comes to Temples. They kept completing Grenth & Balth with a smaller than normal force even when many other larger servers thought it had become impossible.
…I don’t understand it. (Then again I can’t seem to ever get in to SEE why they’re still failing it?) …I’m guessing it’s b/c all the Living Story pubbers are still crowding out all the more serious PvE players…
Way to completely derail the thread in 1 post guys
On one hand… locals to a server can take solace in the fact that Guesters often get that Network error when waiting in a Queue while guesting.
On the other hand, the OP is right…. this is a flash in the pan DPS check that took a lot of resources and effort obviously but won’t see much play beyond this next week unless it’s changed to something with a deeper skill curve (spamming on turrets and side-stepping out of an AOE doesn’t make anyone a lot more “skilled” than most other PvE’ers … Nor does being in T2/T1 wvw: Aka: “Bandwagon Land”)
It was neat to a lot of people…. well… a lot of people born in the 80’s, haha
What would be the point of stowing the Pet??
It’s already permanently out of combat the instant it dies
I always assumed….
I’m guessing there’s a LOT of things that are always assumed here when it comes to Stowing …right?…. As in compensation?
What would be the point of stowing the Pet??
It’s already permanently out of combat the instant it dies
I think Muddy is already pretty good on its own ….. stupid kitten Recharge nerf it received recently for sPvP aside…. (am I contradicting myself here, I don’t know for sure).
It makes perfect sense as far as Visual physics of being covered in mud goes. But I think there’s plenty of other much less utilized skills that could use a reveal effect attached to them first. …. things like: Throw Dirt, Spike Trap, Sun Spirit (get it??, cuz the sun reveals stuff?), Sig of the Hunt’s Active, and Guard…
…let me guess…. b/c their pets would get Spark’s aggro?
See this is why I say it’s good in an ironic inflection
Modbot would move it here before any dev could look at it. We might repeat the Tafu thread opening with dungeon selling, though.
Could always ask in the Account Issues department and hope Gaile responds
That’s who we used to ask about other activities misreported in Gw1
The Armor??? … Okay you’re definitely talking about the Heavy armor which most people all agreed looks like Sewer Pipes and car fenders after they been in a wreck
Nah it’s good, it even has the 50% reset bug … but OP was smart and reset it completely
*scans message quickly, sees bear multiple times*
ohhhh dis gon’ be good...
What is this??
I moved off of CD specifically to get away from you people and your Tier3 matchups.
It doesn’t require too much if you’re talking about the actual “Staying Alive” part.
The level of difficulty there is just about perfect and it’s no where near the split second timing required to stay alive versus Liadri or Lupicus or higher level Fractals bosses.
The waves of enemies on the Turrets isn’t that bad either, infact they’re really easy when compared to how ridiculous things can scale up on the Warmaster Chan escort (which some of us beat every night despite that).
The mobility required in using the Jump pads for instance…. and also jumping the Poison Ripples during a “Lag Storm” might be a little challenging at first and require an adjustment period. But even that can be overcome in time by no-so-good / easily-confused players.
The only problem here, is that it’s still a “DPS check” and we already had a TON OF THOSE in PvE endgame. And a lot of the ones we already have, are still more fun than this crap is. This crap is “trying”, but it’s not difficult. It’s trying, because you’re watching a server full of people with bad specs, crappy Non-Ascended gear, bad DPS support utility choices (OR NONE AT ALL), sluggish or non-existant “performance” on turrets, and they’re even worse at support Positioning
….Basically, the kind of people who’d allow everyone else to get Petrified against Simin (Path 4’s DPS-check boss) while taking 30 seconds per spark pull.
The Event itself is almost perfect…. except for this Timer and Massive HitPoint pool which can’t be affected AT ALL by individual “exceptionalism” like most other DPS checks in this game and even other “Raid Content” in a lot of other games. ….Basically, just like WvW: There’s needs to be more ways for smaller elite teams to contribute more and greatly accelerate the speed at which that massive HP bar starts going down
We could also use some sort of “Drop” from the Champions at these things….
I don’t mean more RNG coffers, no, I mean more stuff that helps beat the Event sooner.
- Supply for building our own Siege like in WvW is one option…
- Bundles that extend the time on the clock if a small team manages to escort them to a specific point without the carrier being downed. (kind of like CTF)
there’s probably lots of other options too for Anet to come up with…
…That they could also apply to Jormag since they removed loot from those champs
(edited by ilr.9675)
You can put conditions on him
Proof/Video please
Berserkers should have to do some crazy “Shadow of the Colossus”: climbing puzzle stuff to earn their Crits on these things…
.
I’d also point out that it’s not even Zerkers who suffer the most from this, it’s actually Knights & Assassin gear that is hurt more by this. It’s just that a lot of “pubby” Zerker players aren’t usually as “good” at playing the game in general and their entire build/utilities are also completely “Glass” based so they get downed a lot more often than a really dedicated Assassin or Knights player who’s more diversified.
(edited by ilr.9675)
Zerkers can go to turret defense. If they don’t want to, rebuild. Don’t want the expense? Your call but don’t blame others for your decisions. Leave the frontlines to the ones that can take a hit.
So you justify this ridiculous design by saying that all the zerkers and condition classes need to go play at the back of the bus? You confident you have enough dps with (let’s just say) 30% of the players all defending turrets?
Yeah pretty much… except it’s a lot more than 30%, hence why it fails so often.
I’d weigh in on the “waiting for Rez” debate…. but first I’d actually had to have died :p
…I STILL don’t understand how so many people manage to die in this thing. Are they all level 50’s or something?? Someone should point out to them that the level of that section of the zone is darn near 70, lol.
yeah…. but only b/c I play it like a dervish instead of the way it was actually designed.
I wanna do it…. I wanna get 6 noble runes to find out if there’s some kind of new Might build that can be fenagled out of them…
I bet people are gonna start reporting elitists aswell.
OH NO
what are you all going to do now??
actually, I don’t know if I’m ever going to use this thing. Atleast with LFG.com I could typically rely on finding people atleast at the experience level to do ACs/CMs without Leroy Jenkins’ing into every encounter we could just as easily pull or sneak around.
No such luck with general pubbers though.
alright I gave the Tequilla a shot, and it killed my pet instantly somehow.
Incredibly easy to avoid Waves…. it’s like JUMPROPE…. you like jumprope Stewy??
But Way too advanced for our Pets apparently. We’ll never teach them to jump… They can bring someone back from deaths door like a Doctor, but jumping is FOREVER BEYOND THEM. So Instead of DPS’ing at full capacity, I spend the whole fight watching my dead Pet’s switching-bar count down from 45 or whatever it is so it can help me clear these turrets of Vets & champs & junk.
I don’t have this problem against Giganticus Lupicus or other insane damage Bosses by the way. I can keep all but a Stalker alive versus everything from Alphard & Alpha to the SpiderQueen & Wraith Champs.
It’s rather hilarious when the water wave will deal 4800 to me and yet intsagib my pet. If there has ever been an example of pets needing either more damage reduction or to receive stat bonuses from our gear it’s this event.
No reason an npc with equal or more life than me should one hit from something that does less than 1/4 of my life.
What’s your armor/toughness? When I used to run Knight’s I got about 3k/2k armor/toughness from gear.
I can definitely confirm what Substance just said. While running pure Valk’s, I’ll take maybe 5k damage from the Waves but the BlackWidow dies instantly or loses 95% of its HP which it didn’t have to spare in the first place since there’s all these other random poison fields and junk everywhere.
(edited by ilr.9675)
If it’s so good… why does some pumpkin curry crap cost 5x as much??
Free market has spoken
Where is my money man?
Bloodstone dust is completely WORTHLESS b/c everyone has 2 million piles of it.
Empyreal’s & Deldrimor Ingots on the other hand….
(edited by ilr.9675)
This
is
BUILDWARS!
No the bigger issue here affecting this, is actually Traits. There’s some good ones on some classes, but most of them come NO WHERE CLOSE to the diversity we used to have in just Gw1 Prophecies, let alone all the other chapters piled on
I already have a Glowy Blue sword from not sucking at fighting a Lupicus.
All others pale in comparison IMHO…
.
And what’s up with this Mary Sue again?? ….inb4 she’s the Mad King’s Pony by Oct 31st
speed run….
…(level, gear, ect)…
…. a must kick about 20 people what are I dont know..
hahaha… this was as far as I got before predicting this wouldn’t end well
Yeah that’s the most likely explanation.
We got “Runs” all the time in Gw1 and no one ever said crap about it.
Some of the devs probably got runs when they were short on time but needed to get an Alt through a big lonely area they already fought through 10x by then…
even condition classes get kitten over since 25 stacks
uuhhhhh….. You might wanna edit that to say ZERO stacks…
They are immune to all controls and conditions just like,
..http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Destructible_objects
We’re having a lot of close calls on Balth Escort all now because of this.
- Pact is being rushed WAY more than normal when we had more ppl listening.
- Vital & mostly harmless “bait” mobs are being nuked instantly again.
- Even the Subjugators are getting indiscriminately nuked where they spawn by Ranged n00bs who don’t understand how the AI prioritizes range with wells.
But even after we get up past the first 3 most dangerous waves…. There’s also:
- Pact not being healed when AOE’d by Purifiers/Corruptors
- No one waiting BEHIND the pact to nuke the mass-spawn of Nobles
- Very few if anyone covering the areas around the Vet Acolytes with CC’s & slows.
- Almost no one removing burning & healing the Redshirts at the end where Balth’s Fire Rain starts coming down on them (NEED MORE WATERFIELDS!!)
This was not a big problem over a week ago before Guesting started getting out of hand. Now … I can speak for NSP on this: The head commanders are not against guesters. …but they would really appreciate it if more people would actually learn the details of the encounters and change their utilities/weapons accordingly. …Or atleast turn map-chat on and listen to it. If you’re guesting, then you have a responsibility to have map-chat on to hear the advice of the resident commanders.
Thank you. (even tho most of them will probably never see this)
(edited by ilr.9675)
I’m not necessarily complaining about this type of content, though it’s not really my cup of tea, I’m only annoyed by “omg I beat Tequatl, I must be the best player ever now” attitude.
Solo’ing dungeons is difficult, being near the top/at top of PVP rankings is difficult, winning 1 vs 3 encounters in pvp/WvW is difficult, SAB tribunal mode is difficult, high level fractals/some dungeons can be somewhat difficult. World bosses atm are not difficult. If you’ll get enough people to stand in predefined places, you’ll beat any of them, it doesn’t require skill, just people, who are able to listen/read.
^In 100% support of this Post^ ….. We need more 3rd party voices on this.
Yes, PLEASE stop using “difficult” and “Coordination” to describe this Event.
You want difficult and coordination?? Come with any of us into Arah and Melee the Lupicus …. Or pull off a 20-man Balthazar Escort where you actually HAVE to use perfect positioning, split second reaction, CC rotations, and then adapt instantly to recover in the event that those things still weren’t enough. Or do the 40+ fractals if you love a gear grind with your Skill-Test.
…Just don’t pile onto the chorus of lucky scrubs and other less-lucky scrubs who’ve been doing nothing but farming Cof1, Deadeye, & then Grenade-Charr-Pirate Champions the past months when they’re not in FG fighting l00t Pinatas that don’t even Scale properly!
The Devs won’t ever (well extremely rarely) specifically post a response telling you to expect a Nerf to any Boss. They’ll only post in regards to Bugs and sometimes Misleading UI or Graphic indicators, or just outright bugs…
My prediction, ….and I’ve got a long history of accurate predictions when it comes to Anet’s iteration process, is an HP reduction is possible and probably the most simple answer if their datamining that the general attendance they expected to win it… still isn’t winning or is falling short by ~25%. But I also think if there’s a clean way to just change the win mechanic to something more positive and fun, they’ll take the extra time to do that instead.
Unfortunately that would also mean a longer span of people getting more and more tee’d off and ragequitting the encounter … There’s quick fixes, and there’s final fixes… pick one.
The nature of the internet will always cause this, all popular mmos suffer from this (except lotro which always seemed immune). The devs put out content which requires server coordination…
NO
You’re NOT ALLOWED to use such general and positive terms for this fight
This fight’s win condition is 100% an absolute DPS check, and nothing more…
There’s lots of servers who coordinate daily to achieve what others call the impossible.
Then there’s other servers who do not coordinate one bit beyond bringing maxed out pure power vit builds to this who succeed with time to spare. ….This is not a server coordination issue. This is artificial difficulty. This is a Spreadsheet in action….
What are your thoughts on this? Have you observed the same?
Nope… I’ve been with my old Temple “zerg” that figured stuff like this long ago.
Much more relaxing for the most part. There’s been some drama lately about “Guesters” but I’ll take that any day over this “group DPS Race” they call a boss fight.
I only had to watch it once to figure out that there’s nothing worthwhile to partake in yet. I really hope the “win mechanic” gets tweaked and migrated to a more agreeable middleground for more people so that their civility will be easier for them to hold onto. But I’m not holding my breath when this kind of “Inciting instead of Exciting” content (Pavillion, Ember Farming, Scarlet, etc) seems to be the RULE lately, not the exception…
celestial items still have more stats on them than other sets, you and everyone else who are complaining about this are doing so completely without merit. If you bought celestial stuff for the paltry magic find gain, that’s your own fault
People keep saying stuff like this in every topic about Celestial. But ultimately, it’s only because they don’t understand how Stats & Specializing actually work in the game.
