I disagree with alot of what your saying,

1- the healer
Staff ele-shout bow and shout guardian are these healers. Teams are literally running a zerk class next to a healer/support class to run together. So your mistaken about that.

2-class fundamentals
If you watch the Ag tourneys and see the winner of that and watch them go to the Esl, can you tell me why most of them get smashed. You have alot of players running the exact same builds and team comp yet 1 team wins b2b 500-200 and your gonna try and say this is not skill based?

I agree there are alot of passives in the game that are truly a pain such as vamp rune but for you to say this game is not skill based but build based it completely untrue.

Lastly saying dmg is too high is wrong simply cause bunkers would be too strong otherwise and the first meta of this game was bunker wars. The skills of all these animations and crazy effects you mentioned has a player saying/doing a certain action. You literally can listen to things happening and point out who has 10% health left and certain utility skills being used. Obviously there is a lack of build diversity and certain classes are at a unfair advantage but overall your comments are not correct.

I seem to remember soloq only having 2-3 min queues – are you sure they weren’t talking about teamq which did have fairly long queues? Also this was no issue anyway because you could play hotjoin or duel friends while waiting for the queue to pop. They need to fix this too – I have already suggested on another thread that they allow queuing from custom arenas but kick you from the queue as soon as you map switch. This is a perfectly reasonable compromise.

No, on my old computer i had many que time picks and yes most of the time i would wvw while on que. I would have a few get up in the 30 min times and i started to yolo que. I wasnt the only one, alright now lets just say im wrong and it had 2-3 min ques ( which we dont even have right now) you would still run into all the probelems i stated earlier.

I mean come on guys why did they get rid of it in the first place? Many people who complain about it probably took some time off from PvP or the game and came back to see it gone. When you get a casual game such as this your not gonna hold people for long periods of time.

In helseth video he said repeatably “theres a chance”, “if anet really gets leagues right” over and over. You cant come out with the EXP and have a solo que when the player base still isnt there. Everyone here talking about solo que are like small children who found a bunch of money and just spent without thinking ohhhh some one will come back for this.

why cant we leave hotm?

  • People would que up and it would take to long, go do something else and when que popped they wouldnt accept since they already started a dungeon/fractal/WvW runs/etc

Leaderboard

  • the old one showed who the best players were but they never reseted it or gave out prizes for seasons. The 2nd one was all grinding and made older PvP players upset based on having to carry bad players and having to do 5-10 a day to compete.

This is what i meant by revamping the whole thing, anet hasnt came out with anything right in PvP for a very long time. This new PvP is super awesome compared the cele meta we had for so long so i give them that but the solo que posts to me get put on here and no one even addresses the dead bodies on the floor. Everyone is just like yeah i would love solo que and i would love solo que to if it worked. If you could explain to me how it would work with the small community without bringing in dota-LoL to set examples i would love to hear it.

What advantage to dagger necros have as an unfixed bug?

They would be in combat attack nothing and spam 1 and gain life force. No one would be there them and it was posted on the forum. I was just stating this as things that went unchanged for a long time. I dont play dagger necro so i couldnt say to what the state of this is but i can check. Currently vamp rune is always bugged with something.

Nooooooo, don’t go “all in for soloq or teamq”. Unacceptable. We had soloq in the past. It worked. Give it back.

yeah it worked so well we had 20 min que times and no one ever used it at the end. I dont know if the “all in” thing is the right way to go but currently the player base is still to small and we wont know what we have until the exp comes out.

NO, i feel every other week or so someones throws this out there when the facts still are the same.

1- we had solo que and it died for many reasons

2-many people yolo qued

3- this is a team game of 5 vs 5 and no matter what many people will find a reason to why something is broken and its never them.

4- Its already been proven by the many devs who come on here saying you match history is fine. You lost because of the team you were on and the premade you were with. It is amazing that people come on here screaming about unfair match ups and then a dev comes on and shows there past 10 match ups and only one was unfair to them. Seriously how spoiled are the children here?

Good point. Only dead unpopular games like Dota 2 and LoL separate solo and team queues. Clearly GW2 knows how to make a successful and popular PvP experience. Let’s put faith in them as opposed to those other dead games.

*diversity ( the ability to bring in a new crowd without alienating them and keeping old Gw2 Pvp players to stay)

  • the appropriate fixes to PvP and bugs (seriously im still getting hit by skills under the building at kylo, etc)

These are just basics things that needed looking into. Not including everything they need to bring in such as new maps for conquest, deahth match and stronghold. It would be very disappointing to me if we didnt at least get 3 new conquest maps and 2 new death match maps and 1 new stronghold map.

To top it off you want Anet to just scrap there whole idea on PvP and do what helseth has said? So i ask you this, what is the % in your head they go in and change the PvP system to meet up to the standards in the video you have mentioned?

I don’t know what you mean by diversity but they are rolling out a new system for match making and rewards are fine. The legendary division does change everything. If you do PvP just to get your dailies done you can’t even comment on what PvP needs.

What are you even talking about? WATCH THE VIDEO. What do you mean by scrap the whole idea of PvP? They aren’t “scrapping” anything. Jesus I swear some people just like to talk without putting any reason behind it.

Alright a few things since you just dont seem to understand what im saying. I have now watched the video and it seems that Helseth and I agree on alot of things. A few things we differ is his belief that F2P is huge for the game.

I agree that GW2 is awesome and the PvP is elite in so many aspects but people coming into the game will struggle F2P or not. The Skill level in this game is unlike any other and what i meant about DIVERSITY is the ability for match making to put players in the right matches. What good is F2P and solo que if people of your level are not on. 2 things happen and 1 of which is you play players better then you over and over making you frustrated with the game. The other end is you playing players your better then and they get the very same feeling of being ovewhelmed.

Helseth also touched something which is a negative which is competitive players egos. There is already a ton of players in this game who believe they are better then they really are. This becomes a huge problem when they get stuck in a league simply cause there not good enough and have excuses. Not only did he touch this he only talked about the positive side of things which isnt realistic at all. He also talks about the carrot-goals- end game content for PvP which anet already destroyed. How many people quit the game the second we all became level 80 over night?

Seriously i want to ask you if you read what i wrote? I asked the question on the facts, what has anet done to give you the idea they can make this work? They killed level progression, unique titles and clothing for PvP players, the leader board, and still have unsuccessfully fixed bugs that give dagger necros a huge advantage.

What if people dont come into this game and dont stay? What if old players dont come back? What if the rewards are not to the peoples in this games liking? Seriously did you just missed everything i said. Helseth and I have different views on it but simply stated we agree. The population in this game is too small and i simply stated that anet would have to do alot right starting with fixing the stuff that needs fixed first. As it currently stands solo que still will not work for all the same reasons it didnt work before. Helseth literally said nothing and only has hope for this game since he loves it.

some help on burn builds

I understand the counter just wondering how everyone felt about them. Saying sigil of generosity to me says people think there fine but I find it a bit weird to look at it from a 1 vs 1 stance.

Now the engy one always get me cause they can stealth. I will literally be standing at a point decapping and capping and boom i get hit by this condi engy. 3/4 of my health is gone and i brought this up cause on this day of PvP i ran into a thief -burn gaurdian combo. They were teamed up and i ran into them 3-4 times and the thief would stone me and the guardian burns and use sr so i didnt see them coming. Basically instant death for me except on my staff ele.

I wouldnt have a problem with either build at all if simply condi cleanses remove the highest condi amount. Like i weapon swap on warrior when i have 8 stacks of brun and weakness and it removes weakness……..

Or on my ranger i use the pet to heal and remove 2 condi and it removed psn and chill instead of the bleeds/burns and torment.

Last one- fighting a trap ranger and a condi mesmer. I ran into his traps didnt see either of them, instantly i see staff skill 5 of mesmer around me. I have insane amounts of condi at this point. I attune to water/cleansing ire/ healing rain and almost all the condi are gone. The 2 that isnt is the 15 stacks of bleeding and 12 stacks of confusion. Just a bit of unknown frustration by me i guess.

I just would like to hear people opinions on burn guardians and condi engineers. Ive actually played less ele lately and ive found that the stacks of burn from these 2 classes get really high really fast. They also both have alot of skills for alot of blocks or invulnerability. Ive actually found them annoying in many ways, especially when they use vamp rune and get a passive get away.

Just wondering what peoples classes are and how they feel about these 2 condi builds.

I am truly at a loss of words. Sigil of generosity, rune of water, etc etc have cool downs on when they can work. Simply put thieves,D/D eles and mesmers have no limit to the amount of blinds they can put on you.

D/D ele is so much better then any other ele build that you dont see any other ele builds in ESL tournaments. Every team has at least 2 ele and none of them will stray away from the D/D.

Mesmers have insane amounts of condi with invisibility and im simply looking for a cd on blinds. They shouldnt be able to cast blinds every other second with invulnerability and distortion.

Thieves aswell, if you dont want to hvae everyone run cele sustain builds. You cant have thieves shadowstep,blind,daze,shadowstep hit with some stabs and shadow stab back rinse and repeat. I understand thieves have a area of effect blind skill but if i dont stand in it and they can still put endless blinds on me and go invisible what is the point?

Seriously if you dont want to remove thieves blinds what about the other 2? I didnt watch the ESL but i assume every team had at least 2 d/d eles and 1thief/1mesmer or both. Yet after months into this new patch when everyone got there hopes up for new builds all that happened was mesmers got to be a big player in the game where as before they didnt.

Engys/guardians/warriors/rangers all have to make a choice whether to be DPS/Condi (both if they want which would mean there pure glass anyways) they all have to set up strikes based on what attacks they land and the playstyle of the players around them.

D/D ele cele can do everything from dps bursts, 5-10 condi stacks of burns with 2-4 other condi,sustain, give team mates boons to the point that using another weapon set would hinder the team.

mesmers and thieves roam with nearly full bursts builds and can hide behind invisibility/blinds. People come on here and complain about rangers/warriors/guardians skills where they cant get hurt which i find hilarious being most players force you to use your ability to do so and go invisible and simply wait for it to go away. They come back knowing your a fish in a barrel. Best part yet is there is a rune which literally gives these spam blind/invisibility players another out. Yeah amazingly if you were to time everything just right and catch them better not be dps because they will go mist form and then bam. You still lose, great job on timing your opponent but he got away and all your utility skills are on cool down.

But hey anet says we dont need any changes and they want us to watch the ESL tournaments and I for one dont why when its incredible clear certain builds are far superior then others.

Ummmmmm i assume at this point its L2P d/d ele or leave. Also if nothing is wrong take away the class amount rule on the tournaments. If there is nothing wrong why dont you just let teams run 3-5 d/d eles in these tournaments so we know who are the best teams really are.

upgrades camps

I would like to see bonus stats to upgraded camps. It always stinks when you fully upgrade a camp and 2 people go to defend the camp with swords on it and there is 5 of them. The guards more the most part are useless when the enemy has 5 or more people. I typically spend more gold on the camps/towers/keeps then i get back from WvW so like a small increase in dps/health/ etc would be nice in the exp.

[Sugguestion] Remove Downed State From WvW.

I disagree 100%. Playing on CD where we only have small groups most of the time. It gives us a chance for team play. 1 friend runs MM necro with the teleport downed state skill and a thief runs the shadow refuge so we can teleport people to us for rezzes.

This is huge when were a 3-8 man group always fighting bigger zergs and we slowing pick off stragglers in the back before engaging in a big fight at a camp/tower/keep. To me it adds another level of game play and lastly i disagree with the Necro comment simply cause its always had at least 1 good build good enough for WvW and PvP.

I big thing that was cool for me in GW1 was the ability to watch a pvp match in the game.

We got tournaments like Esl/AG and no one gets to see them unless they go looking for it. Is there no way to show they weekly final match. Just 1 match from the finals from each tourney would be great. Having 2 competitive matches to watch for anyone in the game with a broadcast voice would be great for the EXP HOT.

Currently there isnt much to do in the hotm and this might be something to see.

there is nothing you can do about crazy people in the game. Imo i would love a zerk range ranger on my team to stand on a ledge and do the dps while i sustain on a point. A huge problem with people in this game is the idea of people fighting on the point. Only 1 person needs to be on a point to hold so the rest need to support since there is nothing worse then team wipes on a point.

I have screen prints of people saying im bad after beating them in 1 vs 1. Its the way the game works, everyone thinks there is a certain way you have to play and they rage at others when you dont do what they want. Lastly there are some players in the AG/ESL weekly using rangers so rangers have some cred right now its just people dont get to see these matches.

Courtyard is actually my favorite map atm. I cant remember the last time i died on my staff ele in there. I run into a zerg drop some burns and mist form out and press that 5 skill on my ele and watch people drop since alot of people think that zerging is all you can do in there. Theres alot to couryard but many people get rolled since they play builds they only practice in 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 situations.

burn guardians and d/d arent the same. Burn guardians lose 1 vs 1 all the time vs any class that can cleanse or use sigil of generosity. Burns arent the problem its just that 1 class with that 1 weapon set that no one beat except cele necro but even then the ele can easily run away to heal.

Burns arent the problem so changing how burns works is silly, how about just allowing guardians to stack 7-10 if they they want to play burst burns. Just let d/d take a small hit in condi stacks and things will be fine.

For once trap rangers/guardians can be used in pvp. Simply cause 1 class with 1 weapon set can apply 4-10 stacks of burns, with might, protection,regen/ with blinds on burn applies with no cd just shows anet lack of motivation to fix a class.

Seriously run of the monk/water have coold downs on abilitys such as remove condi and restore health when hit. Yet mesmers and d/d have no cool downs on there ability to apply blinds.

I personally think burns are ok since burn guardians give up alot and can quickly be bursted down by condi or dps but D/D ele is simply the best in the game at everything. If you reduce D/D eles burns from 3-1 and drakes breath to 2 and put a 15 sec cd on blinds. I could guarantee things would change. Simply put D/D eles who do a ton of burst dmg no longer get huge amounts of condi dmg by simply getting lucky. They would have to actually coordinate there attacks to either apply condi or burst.

Avergage Queue Time Doubled Recently

i honestly think people have just ran out of things to do, come in do there dailies and leave. And now people more and more are using daily rooms to get in and out of the game says theres nothing left.

I personally got all the dungeons skins, glorious armor sets for all classes, back pc (that was a long long time ago) and collected over 1k tokens for dungeons twice now. Theres nothing left to do and if 1 event which people arent enjoying simply cause its about tagging events and not actually completing them says alot.

Ummm banners for warriors?

I think they do that because now shout warriors can also use banners to increase they’re survavibility more and more.
Before the patch you wil lable to chose between banners regen and shouts healing. Now you cna have them both!
That’s why they chose to reduce the healing of shouts and not increase the ranger and reduce the cooldown of banners.

But you can still make a very ecceptional bunker with that 2 traits.

I find it really hard to survive vs condi with a banner shout warrior tryinig to use the banner trait.

If not using the banner your using the remove condi on weapon swap and with rune of the soilder with 3 shouts and sigent of rage you can constantly remove condi. You might be seeing players using banners for 1 vs 1 situations but thats all it is. A gimmic 1 vs 1 thing since banners atm do nothing else and even have a 20 sec cd after it has disappeared from play. Where as some of the shouts you could use have less then a 20 sec cd. Just funny how it all works.

There is literally no reason atm to run a dps character except on thief or mesmer. Rangers and warriors are not legit options on higher tier play teams and the rest is sustain with minimal damage from condi. thats the game at the moment.

Burn guardians/trap rangers/ some venom sharing thiefs and some mesmers.

I would say cele players get everything but what makes them so strong is the ability to stack might and apply condi dmg. You look at d/d eles who can apply 3-8 stacks of burn with 20 stacks of might. Thats basically the same as a pure condi burn guardian that can apply 4-6 stacks but he doesnt have the defensive skills or dps burst abilities. Cele necros as well have the ability to have 15 stacks of might and apply bleeding/psn/chill/ etc.

I like burn guardians atm. Maybe a slight lowering of burn dmg simply cause there can be bursted down easily. Trap rangers arent really a huge thing simply because bleeds and psn stacks dont do nearly as burns/confusions/torment.

Back to the point though, if you watch the AG/ESL tourneys any dps player is always tag teamed with a bunker and simply put every team usually has 2 d/d eles. Your seeing some rangers but you can see 1 match there a big help and the next utterly useless. You can though see condi mesmers/thieves/guardians far more often tried in these tourneys because its easier for these builds to survive and apply dmg.

I have an easier time applying burns than bleeds and poison consistently in sPVP as trap ranger. While bleed is clearly meant to be our top damage condi, it just kills too slowly even at high stacks. Additionally with all of my evades it’s fairly easy to hold a point 1v2 for a long duration and apply a lot of area pressure while I do it. I think my worst match up is trying to decap a point from DD ele because if they’re played well we basically stalemate until I get +1’d.

Idk, I’ve never felt particularly useless…. But maybe I just haven’t been in that scenario yet?

Oh no i was simply stating a observation in some of the AG tournaments ive seen. Some matches no matter the the ranger he seems like some all powerful warrior able to impose his will on match.

Then literally the next game hes getting bursted down easily or forced into corners, i dont play ranger alot to say why this happens but they have a front runners ability to dominate in winning situations and simply crumble most other situations.

Since you only balance PvP every 6 months...

yeah i hear people complain about every class in this game. I would like if they made a post about there thoughts on what needs changed but no i would hate having the people on the forum have input.

See i think burns are ok and that a class like d/d ele with all its super powers abuses it where as burn guardians and rangers will get thrown under the bus because of it. I would like if Anet just did away with the whole Amulet system and allowed us to put points in what we want.

For instance 10 points to put into Boon duration-condi duration-etc and each point into that system is 1%

Then give us i dont know 3000 points to put into our regular stats as in power/precision/ferocity/toughness/vitality.

I would take healing out of the big 3000 points and put into the 10 point one. It be alot like GW2 when it first came out with PvP without having to be forced into certain trait lines. That would be ideal for me.

If you trait for a banner is there nothing but a regen? No increased radius? No reduced cool down? Literally nothing for a banner if you trait for it except regen?

Well can we at least add this to the things that need looked at as well as vamp rune and d/d ele. Please make this 1 of the top things you fix since its simply making 600 radius to 900 and a 20% Cool down reduction.

is gonna be worthless anyway until shout war gets a shout with stability, going for balanced stance or dolyak signet makes basically no sense…also remember that it’s not a guaranteed rez too but more like a downed healing skill

Obvious solution would be going ele ofc…there’s no point playing any war spec in pvp atm anyway, there is no conquest role where warrior is gonna be first choice, just reroll or wait for some balance…no reason to tryhard anymore

hahahaha right, warrior is my favorite class mostly since its the one ive used form the start. I use my staff ele in tournaments but i would like to play this class for fun at a high level.

Burn will get a nerf, think Anet already confirmed this somewhere, but most likely not pre-HoT so just hang in there

Which shows the next problem this game has. Way too slow balancing.

Sorry other games throw minor balancing changes for completely broken stuff out like bi-weekly. Anet requires 6+ months.

A balancing patch every 2 weeks… so rapid iteration on balancing is required for 3 years now, but they just don’t do it.

question what are you running? Why are burns such a problem atm?

Against a burn guardian you just go sigil of purity and generosity with 1-2 condi cleanse. D/D eles i can understand but burn guardians? Trap rangers? Im just wondering why people are screaming blood when there are counters?

there is a video on this forum of a team who took those burns and put them back on the guardians.

Simply put there are ways to fight burn guardians in 1 vs 1- 2 vs 2 situations. though there isnt 1 atm for d/d eles and the vamp rune.

condi is so much easier simply cause you get the condi and the defense. Warriors/guardians have to give up so much on stats now to do enough dmg to down people. Warrior also has no range so no need to play a class that will struggle to hit its target.

Name a condi and its easy for a build set up, trap ranger- 3 traps with entangle and make sure to daze once in the traps, the dps player dies immediately.

Cele necro- places marks on the ground the melee dps character has to close the distance. Now with chill sigil you get hit switch weapons and start running the melee character cant keep up and you simply just let the condi take its time.

Guardian thats condi just use focus that way you can apply shelter for invulnerability and then 3 blocks after with 2-3 dodge rolls. You can time a rampage or a mesmer mind wreck with these abilities. While smashing the 1 button will apply a burn on them constantly.

I have no idea about the 2 hammer engineer one but the first one with the warriors is probably a no.

Currently warriors dont do enough of anything well. If you go pure dps rifle is a bit slow and kill shot is very obvious. If you go any melee you just dont have enough range. Only showbow is really useful for warrior atm. So your team would lack dps and would eventually break down to the dps of mesmers/thieves and the almighty power of the D/D ele.

I disagree withe the cele amulet being the problem. I do believe there is a problem with d/d ele for the simple fact that its better at everything then every other ele.

I use staff ele and i ran into alot different combo fights when its me vs a d/d ele. I went rune of the earth so i can apply 7-8 protection for team mates aswell as more heals with staff.

The problem i run into is d/d ele literally can do more of everything from stack might for a entire team, apply big burst hits to down opponents in 1 vs 1 situations, apply huge condi dmg with ring of fire that you cant dodge in or out.

You cant do these things on staff or scepter. I also believe we shouldnt nerf burns simply cause burn guardians are finally a viable choice as well as trap rangers now. People have shown videos of counter plays to those builds where as there has been no counter play to d/d eles. Its so bad that AG/ESL has limited classes per teams simply cause everyone has found it to be a joke. Teams were running full 5 eles and 4 ele teams.

Simply put when this patch first came out mesmers and eles were too strong and they slightly fixed mesmers. Still a little strong imo but D/D eles are in a god mode and a reduce in base dmg to there burst hits aswell and a reduction of 1 to there ring of fire and drakes breath to me would bring them back into balance.

They would still do dmg and still be able to do condi dmg and since they all run cele that how it should be. A cele character shouldnt be able to destroy anything and currently only d/d ele does that to every class.

In PvP the sword could be used but most dont since you simply dont do as much condi dmg as other classes. Even witht eh F1 skill you apply 10-12 stacks of bleeding but alot of classes easily remove it since its 1 condi and others simply blink/shadowstep/invulnerable/ that F1 skill. Also all it is melee range, you have rangers with there shortbow and traps and they dont need to be near you aswell as every other class where lies warriors problem.

You could try s/s in pvp but i warn you that it could get frustrating.

Question why does the the great sword reduction with might is in the middle trait and hammer/axe/ and increased melee 1 handed weapon speed is in the 3rd tier of choices for specs?
I am now running a hammer with axe/axe and i have to do strength-arms-discpline. I have to use elite specs on weapon cool downs and increased speed. Great sword warriors dont have to and they get the best bonus with it, might on crit.
Which brings me to the berserker spec in the upcoming expansion. How are you suppose to use that spec when you want to use hammer? GS with rage and stances is perfect for berserker.
In the upcoming expansion the only viable weapon build will be GS with another set and Longbow with shouts. Axe skills are all 130 range but throw axe and eviscerate only has 300 range. Hammer is all 130 range except the 3 skill to cripple and earth shaker for 600. Mace no range-sword doesnt do anything compared to the condi every other class in the game does.

Thank you for your reply ! The thing is, I hate the ele gameplay, I don’t like to switch elements…

D/D Ele is under a lot of fire lately as well and looks to be getting nerfed soon, Anet even said they’re looking into it since a team won ESL with a 4 Ele 1 thief comp.

Lol i hope anet is looking into it, the fact they have to say ohhh only this many classes per team says it all. Not to mention you cant use a certain rune with a certain class. If you look at the AG/ESl teams every team is using at least 2 eles and if you want to win you have to run d/d.

D/D is so much stronger the then the other ele options its funny and its even funnier that they thought it was ok back when they made this patch to the point that every other post on this forum was asking about d/d ele and mesmers. They put mesmers back down but not the all powerful d/d ele.

You guys seem to only relate this issue to engineers alone.

I am also referring to annoying automatic stun breakers, endure the pain, spectral armor, decoy, smoke bomb, Armor of earth among other ones. When you pay attention to every animation, and you know they exhausted all their utilities, and you track their cooldowns, and you carefully plan to set up a CC finishing rotation for the kill.

These stun breakers ruin all of your hard effort, and your opponents literarily escape an otherwise sure death. This is an example of reward for no real effort or skill.

I disagree with some of this because because you can see them. If you see a warrior with endure pain you know you cant do dps damage but you can still do condi dmg. When ele gets armor of earth you see the protection and stability boons by there name.

What i call the passive play is the the stuff you cant account for because you dont see it. For instance when you have someone on the ropes and then they turn mist. Everyone says run condi for this situation but i run a dps warrior and if i have a dps thief with me and we burst down a ele and he has a vamp rune. He gets to go into mist and use his f1-f4 skills gain a million boons and health and we have to start the process over again.

Another passive thing that annoys me is guardians shelter heal with the ability to heal and hold a point as well as a mesmer sword 2 skill. They take no dmg and can still hold the cap points yet when a warrior gets endure the pain (a trait choice) he can take condi dmg which atm mesmer/guardians/ele can apply alot of them real quick and over and over.

Another one to me is the d/d ele ring of fire, not because of the stacks but the fact i cant even dodge threw it. Like really? I get hit by by it and get 3 stacks the ele stands in his perfect circle stacking might and i dodge into him and i get other 3 stacks. With a blind and when he attunes to earth i get a cripple and potentially a bleed.

I could go on but some of the things you named can be easily counter played with other options where as there passive attacks that cant be countered such as the ones ive noted down. These are the things that need some focus on imo.

Ummmm i was expecting something different. I mean most of them seem really strong atm because its beta but i dont see myself using them in the future. Not only that but you gave them there own unique names.

Berserker/druid etc etc. You said using thes spec in the exp will allow different things in the story line which i dont like and having used the ele,rev, and warrior i feel like there not for me and to be forced to play these specs for any reason other then me wanting to shouldnt be part of the game play.

Lastly the big thing for me was the new spec wont change what im currently doing. On ele i will still run earth-water-arcane. If someone cares to disagree i would like to here the other side of a shouts/war horn ele in a team 5 vs 5 setting. The warrior looks like it will stay in its DPS meta form which is nice but that forces a team comp of at least 1 support character for it which means we probably wont see a ton of berserker warriors in team play.

I would like to here other peoples opinions on the classes new specs and there view on the new weapon based on 5 vs 5 settings.

Ok so i run a trap ranger and there are people sitting in my traps and im not doing the same amount of dmg other classes are doing. I was in a 1 vs 1 a rev and he didnt even dode he ran into all 3 of my traps and i used entrangle. He was at 50% health and decided to run off and heal.

But on my bunker ele i cant last for more then 15 sec against a mesmer and revenant. I use staff so i pop magnetic aura but that doesnt matter against a revenant or mesmer but they can apply 8 different condi and what seemed to be 17 stacks of confusion.

I find it a bit funny that bleeds and psn just dont do anything in this game when these are the condi your giving warriors and rangers. A nerf to burns will kill burn guardian builds so im my question is will the revenant and mesmer be the tag team champions of condi/dps burst builds?

Berserker Sucks In PvP

I ran berserker in place of discipline and i used Gs-Mace/shield. It worked well, i did the stance heal with the 2 stances. I used the knocked down rage with the Elite rage heatbutt skill. This combo was great for 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 situations especially in berserker mode to get that added stability and ferocity bonus. I would use the Mace stun f-1 in beserker mode and then switch to greatsword.

But i would have to say i dont see berserker working for any warrior character other then GS-axe/mace/shield dps. Warriors would have to run no condi cleanses and with the new revenant and mesmer condi dmg. Seriously i ran my bunker ele and the mesmer and revenant put like 8 condi on me and there was like 17 stacks of confusion.

I do have to say warrior is a class thats kind of only had shoutbow and hambow in this game so giving that class a average spec isnt surprising.

PvP Disappointment from a GW1 Perspective.

In Guild Wars 2 people get dragged through content and actually think they are decent. I have literally seen a Elementalist sit in Fire attunement and spam 1 on staff in fractals.. not level 1 or 2, but 38.

HAHAHAHA i would agree that GW2 has held the hands of the bad players in this game. I recently recruited 2-3 people in the guild and when they asked what we do i replied with a little of everything. We began to go into PvP dailies and 2 of the new people said they main certain classes being a necro and warrior. My friend mains necro and i main warrior so just for kicks we had duels.

Ummmm what happened next was me and the other guild member crushed the 2 new guild members and the silence on our team speak was a bit uncomfortable. I dont know how GW1 made it more known but GW2 has allowed the masses to think there better then they really are so you definitely got me there.

I know a ton of GW1 players who say that GW2 pvp is better and most of them liked it but GW1 players cling to the trinity. I personally thought GW1 was robotic and bland and even watching the fights they had on there kind of of felt slow.

There is nothing worse imo then when given a certain role like healer and you stand there and watch over team mates. Having played other MMO’s before GW1, GW1 would of died if it wasnt for its great story telling and lore.

It really is only the might-stacking builds that can make cele shine. I’ve never been impressed with cele on my guardian or ranger, for example, where the other amulets do a better job. I suppose you could lower the stats on cele to bring it in line, but as far as I know only the ele can really take full advantage of cele. For example, the cele signet necro build is far from OP. On this basis, it seems that a nerf to d/d ele would probably be sufficient, rather than buffing the other amulets.

you make a good point but when you look at any match. You say oh they have 2 ele and that means to cele ammy and they have also have a necro with signets which probably means he is running cele. Thats 3 players on 1 team running a cele ammy and they will have a advantage over the other team unless they are running the same thing.

Ive also ran into alot guardians starting to use cele with vamp rune. There are alot of classes that have better options if looking for a certain role but atm if you watch any AG/ESL tournament there is at least 2-3 people on each team running cele ammy. I could be wrong and maybe they just need to bring back D/D ele back in line but i would like better options for players who want to use a ranger/dps warrior/dps guardian.

Here is why i think amulets need fixing. Today i play with some warrior stuff and i ran a rune of strength-zerker amulet with sigil of force on both weapons. I was using a hammer and axe/axe.

So were in a match and its a 2 vs 2 at mid in legacy and this d/d ele is literally just standing there stacking might. I have around 6 might and i hit 5 on the axe/axe build. It is whirling winds and this ele literally eats it and i take his health down i would say 60% and he and the other person fighting at mid now have 15 might and begin to crush me immediately and we lose the 2 vs 2 fight.

I normally run a power/condi build on my warrior and was using carrion amulet and found that there is no need since cele was simply better. Here is why amulets need fixed. The fact that no matter what class you have, your gonna look at cele amulet and realize its better for almost every situation.

When you solo que you should be talking about who is what on your team but your not and because of that you have to run these hybrid builds that do everything and its terrible that there the best builds either way.

Amulets need a boost in stats imo. Cele ammy is simply better then every ammy and i do believe you need a jack of all trades ammy but it shouldnt be better then every ammy in the game. Make it so if someone wants to run a bunker that he can acutally run a bunker. If someone runs a pure dps player make it so people actually have to pay attention to him because he does so much dmg that he has to be targeted first.

Problem i see though is thief and mesmer do a ton of dmg and with the invsibility/shadowsteps/invulnerability etc etc. There will be problems bringing them back down to earth. I just see a problem though when rangers/warriors/guardians have to play 1 type of role and other classes do it better.

I wonder what everyone thinks about boosting the 3 stat amulets stats up but i think that could help counter the cele effect. Lets just say base +175 and sub 2 get a +125 on the amulets.

Don’t be too optimistic. You don’t know how ANET balances. They will do one of two things:

1. Nerf something that impacts a majority of classes and hope that it hurts ele as well.
2. Make a ton of changes at once, and just break something new that is broken.

I’m hoping they learn their lesson this time and fix burn stacking which is the issue.

sustain is the real issue. If you tone down burning a bit all it does is that it takes a few extra secs for ele to kill the target. He would still win every single duel, be unkillable 2v1 and only sometimes die 3v1, all with elite mobility, team-support, downstate, condi clense, everything you can name, along with being the most boring spec of all time and easiest/most forgiving spec in the game atm.
eles would still be stacked 2-4 on every team and their amount would be the primary deciding factor in most matches. But this thread isnt really for discussing anything. Its just my daily routine, play 3-4 matches, have them all be decided by which team rolls more eles, get frustrated fighting those countless eles and their endless heals, close the game, make a thread/post just for the sake of it, do something else.

Sustain nerf is absolute priority. Burning needs only a slight nerf on the ele and bug fixing RoF. Blinding ashes needs higher CD. You dont want to nerf dmg too much, i dont mind ele doing some dmg.

i really think that anet needs to fix the amulets in the game. ATM cele amulets allow for players to do everything with 3 classes, ele/guardian/necro and if the simply boost the stats on the other 3 stat amulets it would give a bigger purpose to roles.

Ive been playing power/condi warrior and i was using carrion. Big shocker cele was better and that is the problem right there. Its like the zerk ammy with maruder. 1 cant be better then the other but the counter. Thats one opinion i have on this.

Bunker guardian cant kill anyone but cant escape if another person came.

D/D ele can kill anyone not running cele ammy or is a bunker/support character and has the most mobility in the game. Hopefully the ele ran vamp rune so if he got caught by a burst hit he has a chance to get away and heal.
