Sounds more like an issue with your system’s settings, drivers or configurations.

Depends where you are measuring your FPS.
20-30FPS with that hardware should be normal for crowded areas like Lion’s Arch.

I have a Core 2 Q6600 with Radeon 4670 and I get 30-50fps questing in PVE maps on low/medium settings. Lion’s Arch I get 15-30fps. Your CPU is slightly better than mine.

I don’t use the in-game setting. I use MSI Afterburner to frame limit to 60, works fine with 314.07

server side lag does exist, but are usually rare hiccups due to upgrade/patch/maintenance that affect thousands of players.

However, isolated lag issues are often due to the user end and/or the ISP/connection between them and the server.

About 30 minutes ago, go jumped on by a thief while I was at 30% health. Hey guess what, i won without even healing. Also lv 80 not upleveled in WvW.

I can give you all the anecdotes you want. They don’t constitute evidence any more than your anecdotes of you being killed evidences thieves being OP.

For the record I play guardian, and yes, there are plenty of thieves that outplay me. In my experience, people like you think thieves are OP and try to play one not realizing that everyone can kill uplevels really really easily. You guys become the type of people that I destroy above ^. Yes, I’ve been totally destroyed by every kind of thief build at least once, they are good players, I don’t cry OP. I’ve also destroyed every thief build at least once as well. They don’t go on the guardian forums crying about guardians being OP.

Sorry, I was extremely proud that I beat that thief at 30% hp and I needed to chest thump (altho he probably let his guard down thinking I’d be an easy kill at that point)

fact is thieves can run glass canon and have more survivability than any other class along with the most damage. other classes get actively punished for running glass canon because they can’t go invis and run away to compensate for high dps. if a glass of any other class gets caught unawares they die. if a thief is surprised he stealths and skips away.

thieves could take a 50% dmg reduction and they’d still be amazing. if a thief doesn’t win in a 1v1 right now they must be really bad.

also play a glass canon ranger. it’s a glass canon thief without the canon or the defense from invis.

Sounds like a L2Play issue.

A thief going stealth because they are low on health? Thats indication for free kill. They can stealth, but doesn’t mean they are not there and can’t be damaged.

30 in critical for damage
25 in acrobatics lets me have more dodge , damage and initiative. You can avoid most damage in Fotm by dodging.
15 in trickery lets me have larger initiative pool, more steal and buffs, i switch to uncatchable when running/skipping mobs or neeed to kite bosses.

Yes it is normal for any Glass canon build.
Successful burst = kill
Failed burst = death

There is not much balance centered on 1v1, its more on group play.

You’re an elementalist, you should have one of the best escape/mobility abilities of any profession. Something a lot of people complain about. With that, you should easily be able to recover and come back.

Don’t think much will change for the thief. There are other profession people are complaining about more. As long as there is stealth, new inexperienced players will still cry OP against a thief because they haven’t yet understood how fight.

Its more of a question which other profession will get a buff that will put thieves in an unfavorable position.

D/P and S/D is already the counter build against P/D.

D/P you can stay or go in stealth at will. P/D can’t really attack much if they can’t CnD you. You can also blind them when they attempt to CnD.

S/D or S/P has can immobilize a P/D preventing them from CnD.

a P/D that misses their CnD is a huge penalty to their ability to damage you and initiative loss. Two misses and they likely toast.

is your gw2.dat file size reset too? If not, it should resume and might take awhile to update the % for files already downloaded.

use pingplotter and monitor your ping over time

alternatively you can try gaming VPN services like WTFast or Battleping etc

I use the northern most waypoint in Lion’s Arch and looking at the mystic forge.

Pretty annoying trying to join a map and having to wait 30-60seconds to be told its full. Most so when it does it multiple times in a row.

Why can’t it just immediately say its full so we can choose a different one?

my goal against bunker ele is not to kill them, but threaten them enough so they run away. You can’t really kill them 1v1 unless you catch them by surprise and get a nice burst.

If you are already running on a SSD putting GW2 on ramdisk won’t increase load times.

Your load time will be limited by the CPU uncompressing files etc.

Healing in GW2 is by doing avoidance, damage mitigation and picking downed player up. I guess you can get a pocket guardian/bunker-type to follow you around.

Yes, it can be better and likely will be changes to follow.

In your described scenario you didn’t factor in the other remaining players, they are suppose to come for support.

Most of the time hotjoin people cry in map chat about imbalance/OP they are for the most part wrongly correct. Inbalanced in difference of skill level that is rather than mechanics. They haven’t learned to counter. Common to see a single digit or low rank complain in map when they get demolished by 30+ ranked players.

You probably have corrupted files preventing the OS from loading or HD that is failing causing the corruption.

I suggest trying to reinstall windows and if that still freezes then you are looking at hardware issues.

I play 0/30/0/25/15 PP/SB build and switch PP to SP for melee only places like Jade maw.

PP – single target and require mobility
SB – single target that is stationary
SB – trash clearing
SP – melee required area

I use smoke screen a lot whenever it is available. SoM+Caltrop is awesoem for dmg/regen/cripple. Shadow Refudge is a must to save you and your team in pinch moments, i never switch this utility out.

Well if you do 500 chest at once ofc its a PITA. I usually open my chest/salvage while waiting for the tPVP queue to pop or 2m prep time before match starts. Rewards are merely cosmetic and aesthetics, if you don’t care of those then no point opening.

majority of the skills listed are not “unstoppable”, only ones that grant invulnerability really are. You might not be able to see or interrupt them, but can still bring them down by damaging.

What error codes does it give when crashing?
ArenaNet.log file should contain a history of crashes.

Would be more informative if you provide the BSOD error code.

I suggest doing fresh installation of windows, but if that doesn’t solve the issue likely you have a hardware problem.

BSOD in most cases is use to software drivers or hardware problems. Would help more if the BSOD error code is provided.

The 4 anet players were engi, ranger, necro and guardian; all ranked 11 to 17

Just had a match against a team of 4 anet players + random PUG.

They had guild tag of Arenanet and special Red Icon next to their name. Asked them via whisper if they really gw2 dev, and they said yep. Interesting.

Questing is playable, WvW won’t be worthwhile the fun is where the zerg is at.
