could also be that your older system has a better/faster HD than your newer one.
benchmark it to test.

I got the same CPU as you do. LA loads in about 10-12s with my SSD, but on my 3TB HD it takes 32-35sec

1. People can still hit you while in stealth. A smart player will spam their auto attack.
2. Did you move out of SR too early? It will reveal you if so.

You don’t need to run virtu MVP with a GTX 670, it should be more than enough to run GW2.

The problem is with Vsync it will half your FPS if you can’t maintain 60 fps and in LA your CPU will be bottlenecked so it can be hard hold steady 60fps.

Use frame limiter and/or use nvidia adaptive vsync if you must.

Widescreen works fine for me on my dual monitor setup. Both in windowed and fullscreen.

Maybe update your video drivers and maybe monitor if there is one.

For your CPU the game should be using more of the CPU load.

• Check what other background task is draining resources.
• Try clean boot mode (see Part 1.1)
• Suggest re-installing the OS to eliminate any software issues.
• Check your temp using one of the tools in Part 4

There are several different thief builds with their own unique play style. Suggest you browse the forum and try out different builds. Maybe watch some youtube/streams of people playing their thief in pvp.

Unless you specify more on how you want to play and/or your current build there isn’t much to advise.

Install it on C:\ first then move the Guild Wars folder over

This is my build for tPVP (P/D condition)
Works well in heavily contested capture node points.
Caltrops/Choking gas slowly nips away at people who try to capture the node while a bunker build distracts them and I poke at them with pistol coming in/out of stealth.

You still haven’t provided us on what settings and where the fps is being measured. So we can’t even begin to judge if something is wrong or normal.

But to give some perspective, the latest intel generation cpu is 40-50% faster than your fx-4170. Even with overclocking in WvW it still dips to 30fps, but everywhere else it can get 60fps stable (pve/spvp/dungeon). Show’s how CPU-bound GW2 is.

GW2 will never reach 100% on quad core or higher CPU, but will still bottleneck.

Why? Read Part 4.3 don’t think you fully understood the reason.

Your CPU (Phenom II X4 955) is bottlenecking. It’s the reason for your low FPS and GPU utilization issue. GW2 is very CPU bound.

Where is your FPS being measured and what settings?
If its WvW or Large cities that would be normal. GW2 is very cpu bound.

GW2 doesn’t do incremental patch files, so none exist. It updates by comparing what files/datablock is missing.

These forums are so useless , Ive been on here for about 3 hours looking for a solution to my crashes. IS THERE ANYONE THERE THAT COULD PLEASE HELP ME . the tooltip doesn’t change when you add +duration so it can go unknowingly that you get zero benefit. I wasn’t aware of this common knowledge until I tested myself wondering why it never gave me the extra tick. Some of the runes set only provide +10% duration paired with a 10% sigil its only 20% so there would be no benefit. Alternatively, if someone used a 15% duration rune set but didn’t use a weapon sigil.

I liked using Rune of Lyssa for the (6) bonus, but since it was only 10% +duration I never saw any dmg benefit. Suppose in PVE you can use food to nudge it up to 25%, but in sPVP my main purpose won’t have any. Probably go back to stacking bleed with 3 rune set. Depending on how much +condition in pvp it can be more useful than duration since people use condition removal.

What about choking gas poison? (tooltip says 5s)
Without sigil I got 19s poison duration, with 10% sigil I got 21s.

Runes of Afflicted, Krait & Centaur has all have +15% bleed duration
Sigil of Agony has 10% bleed duration

By stacking these runes/sigil you can get different bleed duration.

Tested with Pistol Vital shot bleed in HoTM heavy golem.

So looks like you need a certain amount of bleed duration for it to actually take affect due to rounding

Using only the sigil(10%) or one armor rune bonus (15%) won’t net you any gain. Need at least 25% before it gives you that extra tick. To get 2nd tick you need 55%. By stacking everything you can get two extra tick. Having more +condition seems more appealing now.

Physical reboot like this is due very likely to hardware issues like power and/or temperature.

I’m leaning towards the fact your GPU can’t handle the load requested by the game. Its a hardware stability issue and can degrade overtime.

BSOD is usually due to drivers and/or hardware issues. Would help more if you provide the error code of the bluescreen.

probably its the distance it starts loading/rendering new stuff on the horizon whether it is visible or not, could very well be a poorly designed area.

You can just delete the whole Guild Wars 2 folder and files in my documents. Basically the same as uninstalling.

Almost every single one of your post history is about complaining the same thing repeatedly. You need to fix your system.

You have a Intel i5-3570 CPU, one of the top consumer CPU, and get only 8-14FPS. While other people with the same CPU gets 40-60+fps.

so. your saying its ok the game runs like crap on modern systems and for the poster because its just his system being messed up some how….

sorry but the game should run far better on far lesser hardware then this fellow has, even if the systems got some issues.

pretty sad how much better tera, another game known to be cpu bound runs on the same system compared to gw2….

Go look at his post history and complaints. You’re missing the point. His hardware should be performing much much better, yet refuse to troubleshoot it thoroughly and instead just whine/complain on dozens of threads wanting a magic pill from Anet.
