The tunnels can be opened by doing the event for opening them (killing bandits).
It is not timed.
It saddens me that it seems like Konig is better informed about GW lore than the current writers are. Saddens, -but doesn’t surprise me.
The lore inconsistencies are pretty obvious for anyone really into the lore. It also feels like they went with the most obvious and easy answer. I really wish they would have gone for a twist that in hind sight actually made sense, and actually managed to surprise us.
Please, tell us where all these inconsistencies are. Just because someone doesn’t agree on something doesn’t mean it is incorrect or goes against established information.
They have told us that the Sylvari being minions was planned from the very start, and as such it is very unlikely that they didn’t also plan out the whole story around the fact that the end game so to speak would be this reveal.
Sure, you will probably claim that the writers simply lied about it being planned from the start, but the fact that people have been speculating about it since they would very much suggest that there have been hints all along. Even if you refuses to see them.
Wouldn’t make much sense, seeing as they have never Trademarked any other Living Story part. Nor have they had big announcements for them on big gaming conventions.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com is probably the best place to ask for help. Not sure how active it is nowadays though.
Lets not derail the thread shall we?
Great initiative ArenaNet, sadly I won’t be able to attend (a bit far to drive/fly/swim/paddle from Sweden after all) but good luck to everyone that is PMing!
Going to follow it on Twitch but would be awesome to actually meet the people in person. Maybe one day
I would love to see these threads in interview that even hints at
- GvG
- Guild Halls
- Personal Housing- New race
- Personal story rework
- WvW rework
- Dota SPvP
- New skills including elite skills. (with shorter cooldown)
- New class (This one is maybe not very likely but there’s a possibility)
What is natural for non-human races though?
The Pact wasn’t aware of that. Two Sylvari were corrupted before, and that’s all they knew.
The Pale Tree also said she managed to protect the Dream from the dragon attack, so while she is still alive, for all we know, Dream Sylvari can’t be corrupted.
I would actually assume that the Pact (they do contain elements of the Order of Whispers and the Priory after all) would have connected the two: “Sylvari that cut herself off (Machine) from the Tree went mad.” and “Sylvari that cut himself off (Soundless) from the Tree went mad” and as such, they would not bring Soundless at the very least.
Which would suggest that the masses of Sylvari that turned against the Pact during the attack on Mordremoth were Sylvari under the “protection” of the Tree, which clearly didn’t help them all that much.
The PC is a Dream Sylvari.
The Pale Tree clearly stated that the Dream protects the Sylvari from the dragon’s influence.
The PC, like Trahearne, Canach, Caithe and every other Sylvari that was born from the Pale Tree and did not turn their back on the Dream is safe from Mordremoth’s control.
Sylvari born from another Tree, Soundless and Nightmare Courtiers are the ones at risk.
I highly doubt all those masses of Sylvari that were with the Pact were all non-Dreamers tbh. In fact I would almost bet that none of them were, seeing as the Pact was fully aware that Soundless seemed more likely to be corrupted by Mordremoth.
Extremely unlikely that playable Sylvari will be effected in any way or form.
It won’t move along faster.
There is a queue. You will get support when it is your turn.
If it has been more than 3 days since you sent your ticket, post in this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-older-Part-2-merged/page/35#post4701443
You have to keep in mind that there are millions of accounts. And most likely thousands of people in need of assistance, so it will take time. Support are only human after all, they can’t work faster than humanly possible.
As for the waiting time: It is pretty much standard in this market to have a couple of days waiting time for support. It is not something unique to ArenaNet.
But there is no mistake in the Personal Story.
The mistake was made in the Living Story Season 2 Chapter 7, which have now been fixed.
Earlier, clearly.
We don’t actually have an exact year as to when Wynne dies (nor as to when Riannoc dies) so we can’t really answer that.
So what happened to that giant flower in the trailer?
The one that we destroy when we complete the new world boss encounter?
Why?
Doesn’t it state that he was the first to die?
Just as the now updated Living Story Episode.
No.
One press per action is the basic rules.
They said nothing about the patch on the 27th being a content patch. It seems to be a balance patch, based on their post today.
Aye, it probably won’t contain any large content additions, but it would be rather weird for them to have a patch that ONLY involves a bunch of balance changes.
I seem to recall them adding the Epilogue for S1 with some balance changes as well.
Aye, trying to play games on non-completed OS is usually not a good idea. Mainly due to the fact that it is rather hard to support it, since it will most likely change quite a bit before the actual release.
The best thing you could do is probably to go back to Windows 7 or 8.1.
I cannot quote this hard enough. The might nerfs might tone down celestial eles and engies, but 5 months wait for this? A few shaving here and there? What we need right now, is to defibrillator the meta, not just poke with a needle and see if it is still alive or not.
Guess this is it, countless feedback, and that’s that. See you guys in 5~6 months for another balance patch that will probably do kitten all. I have lost hope for pvp in this game.
Would you rather have kneejerk mega-nerfs instead of trying a few things at a time?
Won’t this might nerf effect Celestial as well though? I was under the impression that the easy access to (and power of) might was the main issue with Celestial, but I might be incorrect.
^ You are talking about the personal story. The rest is talking about the Living Story.
I would assume it would be these items they tune down:
We’ll tone down the effects of a couple of specific items with the potential to far exceed the role they’re expected to fill.
Superior Sigil of Battle: The amount of might granted from this item has been reduced from 3 stacks to 2 stacks. The duration remains at 20 seconds.
Major Sigil of Battle: The amount of might granted from this item has been reduced from 2 stacks to 1 stack. The duration remains at 20 seconds.
seeing as that is exactly what they said in the very blog post you linked.
Well, first of all “Conncept” was right what i was suggesting was more like multiclass and less as subclass, secondary i was a little bit confused on why will be something like that so unbalance…classes are supposed to already as balanced as they can be right now so multiclass in my opinion will be just interesting!
Anyway, i’m just trying to think “out of the box”!!!
Something that is balanced individually might not be balanced when put together.
Lets take Elementalist for example.
It can do massive amounts of damage to rather many enemies rather fast.
Now add in the thief’s easy access to stealth into that equation and it suddenly becomes very much more powerful.
They had multi-classing in Guild Wars 1.
It was basically impossible to balance. Thus it is very unlikely that they will add something like that in this game.
Not having outnumbered doesn’t always mean a level playing field.
The enemy having 50 people and you having 40 would most likely not tag you as outnumbered, and yet the playing field is not really that even when the enemy have 10 more people than you.
Not to mentioned the fact that a 15 man organized guild group is usually much stronger than a 30 man PUG-group.
I can buy Wynne’s Locket at the vendor in SW for 1000 crests and 10 Gold.
I don’t know if that’s because it has been added during the last patch or whether it is because I have completed the achievement. It’s definitely worth having a look if it would save you from having to do Wicked Rodeo :-)
Having said all this, all the other armor pieces (save the chest piece) are now available to buy as well, which was not the case before the patch.
They unlock when you have completed the achievement.
When you are outnumbered you shouldn’t trigger swords ever. This would allow you to sneak attack. If you have numbers you can scout. If you don’t have the numbers no cross swords will alert the enemy to your location. This is an easy fix that would make a huge difference.
It could also backlash and getting people to rage about new people joining WvW because it removes their outnumbered status, which might end up hurting more than it is helping.
WvW is in need of more people, not less. Scaring people away because you want to be able to sneak-attack won’t really help anyone.
Will just create even more rage and abuse than it is now, with people raging on team-mates for making them lose out on the achievement and so on.
What? Re-read what I wrote. I’m not complaining that they’re charging at all, I’m complaining they’re charging extra for less work.
Doesn’t really change the point of my post though.
They need to charge extra for something. And I am rather certain that most people prefer they charge extra for something completely useless than something that gives actual advantages.
One day I’d really like to see ANet’s justification for charging a premium for individual armor pieces, particularly for pieces that don’t appear to require any extra work to implement across weight classes (only chests and legs need separate models for each weight class).
Why would they need justification?
But alright then: They need to make money in order to survive. They choose to do so by charging for completely useless optional things rather than things that actively effects game-play.
Would you prefer being able to buy items that makes you more powerful than people that can’t/won’t buy stuff in the gemstore?
OH and wtf with the laurels…. WE NEED MORE LAURELS NOT LESS LAURELS….
And you can easily get more laurels per month now than before, so I really don’t see what you are raging about.
Those are multiple.
6 of them to be exact.
3 Carapace
3 Luminescent.
That is as far as I am aware many more than have been released in the gem store during the same time period.
NOW WHERE DID ALL THE PVE DAILIES GO!?!?!?!?? First you take away my ability to get a lot of my dailies done through dungeons (my preferred content) NOW you’re taking away all the other PVE dailies too!?!?!?!?!? The only PVE daily today is stupid Queensdale Event completionist. I can’t even go dig up something now for daily. Like wtf!?!?
Huh?
You might be bugged in that case, since I am getting 4, as usual.
Great Jungle Wurm
Maguuma Jungle Foreger
Mystic Forger
Queensdale Event Completer.
Might I suggest posting a bug report if you only get one? (Since I am assuming you have high level characters, due to your comment about dungeons.)
kittenit in the Gemstore AGAIN… GEZUS.
1 for 1 PLEASE Anet.
I suppose we are totally disregarding multiple full sets that have been obtainable in-game during the last parts of S2..?
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
Aye, I have a feeling that if it is a expansion it might simply be along the lines of: All open world and such changes are unlocked for everyone for free.
The new personal story (if such a thing comes with it) will require payment, as will potential new dungeons. That would seem somewhat fair in my eyes.
I would say that the cutscene at the end of E8 shows rather clearly where the Sylvari belong.
It is very unlikely that Mordremoth could take over hundreds (or possibly thousands) of entities within seconds unless there were a connection already established between them.
I highly doubt that it will be a paid expansion. That would go against everything Anet has promised, even since GW1.
They do not like segregating players due to expansions. To some extent, even GW1 somewhat avoided this (extra campaigns/eotn weren’t required). This is why they strictly stick to a b2p model.
Anet’s philosophy has always been, buy once, play forever.
They only charge for one price to access their service and servers, and anything else they charge for doesn’t deny anyone this access.
I would love to see all these promises about only ever having to pay for the vanilla game in order to get access to every single thing ever released in the game.
You are also completely ignoring the fact that in Guild Wars you had to pay (full price no less) in order to access Factions and Nightfall, even if you already bought Prophecies. Which would go completely against what you claim ArenaNet having promised.
I would like to add onto this since a majority of you likely skimmed over it in your hyped up senses right now.
Quote’s taken from the link.
“A service mark differs from a trademark in that the mark is used on the advertising of the service rather than on the packaging or delivery of the service, since there is generally no “package” to place the mark on, which is the practice for trademarks."
“Under United States law, service marks have a different standard of use in order to count as a use in commerce, which is necessary to complete registration and to stop infringement by competitors. A trademark normally needs to be used on or directly in association with the sale of goods, such as on a store display. As services are not defined by a concrete product”
This will not be a boxed Expansion therefor. Will it be electronic? Possibly, but its hard to imagine them not releasing boxed version.
That doesnt mean that it wont be a large sum of content or “Expansion Like Content”. Lets not forget ANet has called all their Context Expansion like. I feel this is simply a step they are taking to monetize a part of the story yet.
Ill be hyped when I see it in actuality, until then I wont hold my breath.
Edit: In re-reading just now, I could see this as paving the way and path to an expansion later on, but not so soon, again I wont hold my breath and Ill wait to see what happens on the 24th.
You are however ignoring the fact stated in the post right under it.
The fact that there are MULTIPLE trademarks registered, and only 2 of them are Service Marks, whereas two other are trademarks. One for toys and one for Applications/Games.

The point being, they don’t have EQUAL access to reliable stability.
Stealth doesn’t replace stability.
No one said anything about every class having equal access to it.
And no, stealth does not replace stability, but it does make the boss much easier, since it won’t target you if you are invisible.
Isn’t it the opposite? It’s the sylvari that have turned against their creator, Mordremoth, that are traitors. The rest are the loyal ones.
There are two groups of traitors here ^^
Those that turned against us.
And those that turned against Mordremoth.
But they are traitors.
Possibly not willing traitors, but they are traitors nonetheless.
If I talk about the situation of the military in country X with my friend, and said friend turns out to be a spy for country Y, I will be branded a traitor, despite not doing it knowingly or on purpose.
What makes you so sure that was the case? For all we know the weak-minded (as in none-playable) sylvari have been knowingly working for Mordremoth since the start, as double-agents.
Because they wanted to give us a false sense of security so that the attack by the Shadow was more of a surprise and might caught us off guard?
Thief doesn’t. We have one elite skill which only lasts a few seconds on a long 90s cooldown.
Still doable without stability. The trouble I had was with shades smothering the flames. Didn’t realize I had to kill the shades. Did it as a group to get past it though.
Ergo they have access to stability.
Thieves also have a rather massive advantage with the easy access to stealth
Traitorous? What do you mean by that?
And how did these ‘traitorous’ sylvari of yours get inside in the first place since we needed to do something extreme to just open that gate.
I mean that the Sylvari race does appear to be rather traitorous, based on the cutscene (all of them basically turning on the Pact and killing everyone).
Wynne had the Seal. It is not that far-fetched to assume that Caithe got the seal from her.
Or it might simply be a case of the cave simply being controlled by Mordremoth and thus its servants can enter freely.
I would assume they wait until the official reveal before doing so, since as of this time we don’t actually have any confirmation about what it is.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
I wonder if there’s an intentional parralel with the real world where people shout that all muslims are evil because some of them are extremists.
Those people are idiots too.
I would indeed assume so, yes.
How did the Shadow of the Dragon get inside as well? Is there some back entrance or something?
It was clearly let in by the traitorous Sylvari.
. . . and how can I send said cookies to you?
