Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
So how is this any different than
Guild Wars 2: Flame and Frost?
Guild Wars 2: Flame and Frost was not trademarked?
Except we are at 2.5 years, and there hasn’t even been an announcement yet. Usually the announcement is 6 months before launch. At this point we are looking at slightly over 3 years before the first expansion. But there is the possibility that Anet is going to launch it very soon after an announcement in which case it might be sooner.
Historically ArenaNet have released expansions/new campaigns around 3 months after the announcement though.
Which could easily mean announcement at PAX and release around the 10th anniversary of the series.
You were claiming that the only thing that hints about an expansion is the prediction, which is quite clearly not the case. Which was the whole point of my post.
Your explanations of the points doesn’t really remove their hinting at a potential expansion.
Customer service can’t do magic. It is not just snapping the fingers and the problem is solved. They need to figure out what the problem is and how to solve it.
And you are not the only person that might have issues.
You have no higher priority than other paying customers and as such if there is a large amount of tickets (which is quite common around the holiday season due to influx of new players and such) it will take time to get it fixed.
And once again: Post in the thread I supplied.
I’m not applying logic anywhere, I’m just saying these are the only hints we have around expansion. I’m curious what your argument is based on, though.
Actually no.
We have multiple hints about expansion.
The prediction.
The current living story.
The trademark registration.
The fact that we know that they are working on big things in the background.
Two people from the very top of the company having a 90 minute panel at the main stage at PAX South.
So you actually DID get a reply, contrary to what you said about not getting any reply?
They even apologize that it is taking time (which is also stated on the Guild Wars support page).
Post in the second thread I linked earlier in this thread.
You do not answer the question.
Did you or did you not get an automatic reply when you created your ticket?
Also, where did you contact the GW1 support? (As far as I am aware said support does no longer exist and is taken care of by GW2 support, as stated here: https://support.guildwars.com/home )
What makes you so sure the issues is not with the mail supplier?
Have you gotten the original automated reply?
Yes, it was something that was posted before the trademark registration was discovered.
Don’t really see how that proves anything at all though.
I am not saying there will be an expansion, but more and more information points towards it.
No reply at all:

Did they trademark previous Living story chapters?
No, they did not.
I hope they get to mine soon it’s been 6 days already no reply yet. Backlog must be really full.
Title implies and logo implies that we’ll be fighting the dragon, whatever was his name, and we’ll probably be in the area where he resides.
It’s not an expansion. It’s the Season 3.
Think about it, they can’t possibly add full scale (current gw2 map size) expansion just basing it on Maguuma.
And yet no other part of the Living Story have been trademarked as far as I can find. Why would they suddenly start now?
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
As far as I can see none of the Living World episodes have been trademarked.

“Point of no return” should be renamed “No point in returning”.
Or Prelude to Heart of Thorns?
Some images (including a new logo)
So.. apparently this is a thing:

Maybe we are getting an expansion after all?
Or who knows, maybe they are going with a movie or another book (do trademarks work the same for that?) ^^
EDIT: Seems like the link to the search doesn’t want to work:
Here is a direct link to the trademark:

18 dollars for a quest chain? You can get Skyrim for less, expansion to SWTOR costs 20 dollars, you can sub for month to any sub based MMO and complete bunch of these ;-) GW2 istself cost 20 dollars in some e-shops.
You can also get the quest chain for free. Either by logging in when it is live, or by transferring gold to gems.
Also a bit silly to compare a game that have been out for over 3 years with something that have been out for about half a year.
The fact still remains that there was something new.
If there was nothing new, there could not have been something new. Ergo, claiming there was nothing new is factually incorrect.
As for the rewards part I talked about the large amount of new rewards. New crafting tools, new salvage items, new head gear, new bell and so on.
Even when they are at work we get stuck waiting weeks for game breaking bugs. Your point is invalid. And no, wintersday was a repeat of last year. There was nothing to do, please don’t make kitten up.
I have yet to see a single actual game-breaking bug being in game for weeks. Please give an example.
Aye, MOST of Wintersday was a repeat, but there WERE new stuff as well. I do not recall being able to do the Scavanger hunt last year for one.
Nor do I remember having a reward track in sPvP for Wintersday stuff.
Nor do I remember a rather large amount of rewards that I could get this year.
Claiming there was NOTHING new is blatant lying.
Aye, there are griefers. And adding the information you want will give them even more ways to grief.
You can prevent those things by talking to your team-mates before and during the match. Just doing your own thing without planning ahead with the team is usually a rather good way to lose.
Running from point to point is usually not seen as a good tactic in most maps either for that matter.
lmao… easy to say but when you’ve got no evidence fingers can be pointed anywhere…
Why point fingers at all?
Everyone that have taken part of a match should already be fully aware what went wrong. No need to point fingers at anyone. Just think about what happened, why it happened, and how you can stop it from happening in the future.
Paying attention to the match tells you everything you need to know as to why you lost.
Where did they say that they are removing it permanently?
The current event is after all a test, to see how different concepts might work in the live game. And as such it would make sense to go back to the standard way while compiling the new information gained and then make a decision based on that.
We have known that the no white swords and PPK would be a TEMPORARY addition to the game since before the event started. It is not new information.
Anet your playerbase is starving and you are continuing to feed us crumbs.
We need a meal!
Actually, feeding a starving person a meal might kill it. It is better to feed it crumbs…
You people keep using this nonsense excuse when the reality is that it is a poor move resulted from poor planning. We just had 5 weeks of nothing and will probably have 2-3 months of nothing after this. Yet people will keep claiming an imaginary 2 week content release schedule regardless.
I had loads of stuff to do during that time.
With Wintersday and quite a bit of new rewards and so on. Claiming there was nothing is false.
I also question if you would actually prefer to have to potentially wait weeks for potential game-breaking bugs being fixed due to people not being at work, if they released it before the christmas break?
That is the issue though.
For you it is just imaginary/fanciful words, but quite clearly for others it does have a meaning that would go against the naming policy.
Just because there are many people on a map doesn’t mean everyone will use the chat. Back in the days when LA was the place to be you could easily see 50-60 people standing around and yet only 3-4 were actually talking in map-chat.
If you have a friend that was there on time.
Or if you use the LFG-tool.
Or if you organize something on reddit.
Or on the forums.
I don’t need to pay to start my own LFG group. I do need to pay to understand the lore though. Which is worse than what free to play titles do. And you actually had to buy the game to begin with to play it.
No you don’t. You can do every single S2 story instance in the game without every paying anything at all.
^ You are aware that you can still access the other parts of the story, right?
So everything since the start of S2 have been permanent as well.
They reserved the largest room for the longest amount of time of anyone at the conference… if that isn’t hype then what is?
Oh, I am fully aware about what they have done. But they have not SAID anything at all about it. Without people checking PAX we would not even know about it at this time. And that is a rather large difference.
The community is hyping it up. ArenaNet have done nothing other than scheduling an event.
People really should keep in mind that ArenaNet have said a grand total of nothing about this as far as I am aware.
The only reason this thread exists is due to the fact that someone saw that they had a scheduled appearance on the PAX homepage. ArenaNet themselves have however not even mentioned it.
I don’t need to. As ArenaNet’s current policy is to tell us nothing, it’s literally impossible for them to be less likely to tell us anything.
This is what I wrote:
People are aware that making fun of employees makes them even less likely to tell us anything, right?
I did not say anything at all about them telling us less. I said something about them being less likely to tell us anything (and right now they do tell us stuff now and then).
People are aware that making fun of employees makes them even less likely to tell us anything, right?
As they don’t tell us anything as is, there’s no risk of being told “less”.
Read the post you quoted one more time.
The number of reports does not effect action taken by the CS.
Might I inquire what the name of your character was?
People are aware that making fun of employees makes them even less likely to tell us anything, right?
Where did it say? It was pretty much the most aggressive dragon before it was killed.
To be fair being aggressive isn’t the same as being strong.
In fact in many cases it is the complete opposite. The creature being aggressive in order to scare the enemy rather than facing it in normal combat (which it would in many cases lose).

(Two branches of same step). At the end of the lvl 20 Norn-arc.
And it is the same with the Personal story for the other races.
It does not count for the cultural armor achievement, but it does unlock the skin.

I’d like to see a reference to 2010. All I remember is, “When it’s ready.” right up to, “Coming later this year.”
Ah, my bad. Was actually the beta, with release for 2011.
http://dailygamesnews.com/2009/11/guild-wars-2-wont-release-until-2011.html
Or maybe, planned ahead, like any normal business would do.
And rushed out the release?
Or release it before the winter holiday and then have us potentially wait weeks for them to find fixes to potentially game-breaking issues?
Yeah it’s from the same people who were saying GW2 will be released in 2011/2012 and the first expansion around 2014. Not very good “predictions” but we will see, there is also that big announcement at PAX, coincidence?
To be fair the original release for GW2 was planned for 2010 as far as I remember, and it actually was released in 2012, so they were quite right
I very much dislike the lack of choices. For pve/wvw/pvp you are stuck with very few choices unless you do a combination of them. For example if you only like to do PVE you are stuck with maybe 3 out of 4 things you can do and 2 of them may be tedious and time consuming. (such as fractal runner and specific zone event completion)
You are aware that 3 is the only amount you need to complete the daily, right?

And how do you figure that out? Nothing in the trailer for Point of No Return even points at Rytlock.
The fact that all of the teaser pictures involving Rytlock have had the Point of No Return logo on them?
The fact that the whole reason for his initial disappearance was due to fighting Mordremoth?
It is rather unlikely that they would show his return in a teaser, since they most likely want to keep it as a surprise.
Yeah, missing the point by a mile I see.
But that is just it. There will ALWAYS be people that have night at a different time than others. That is how timezones work.
A great example is people living in Australia. Their “prime-time” is really not good for either EU or NA-servers, so where should they play?
Or the people that does not work standard 9-5 jobs? Should they also be left out from WvW simply because you don’t want them to play during the time you can’t play?
So why didn’t the WvW guilds apply? Or do you really suggest that ArenaNet knowingly invited sPvP guilds over WvW guilds?
It also makes rather little sense, seeing as what people mainly complain about when it comes to EotM is that it is too much PvE, which most likely wouldn’t really be the case if it was based around sPvP-feedback.
To be fair they did add more stuff around the world early on in the Living World, but more or less no one even noticed it so they most likely decided that it was not worth spending the time and resources on it.
