There already is a perma-ignore option. Just keep doing what you’re doing now and pretty soon your account will be compromised and you’ll never see the reminder again (because you won’t be able to log in since a hacker will have control of your account and it will get banned).
I like the IDEA of a positional requirement, I just think that ArenaNet implemented it in the absolute worst conceivable way possible.
Done correctly, each skill on the SB should have a base effect AND a positional effect.
The base effect should primarily be DPS related and the positional effect should be primarily Control/Support related (obviously there should be some overlap where correct positioning also leads to a DPS increase as well on some skills).
Just for the record, I am not opposed to a Gem Store item that will unlock all waypoints for a character when used. Price point around 1k gems seems reasonable to me.
One for the whole account could also work if it was priced at something ludicrous (10k gems?)
Also for the record, I would never buy this item as I prefer to complete the maps and get rewards.
I’ve previously suggested that throwing in a stack of Exotic Luck Essence should double your chance at a Mystic Forge promotion (so you’d throw in 3 Rares and 250 Exotic Luck Essence in the Forge and you’d have a 40% chance of getting an Exotic back).
Your flaws were using assumptions as they were the norm…..in your case specifically that all rich players will forge b/c they are smart. That ignores the consideration of the time and effort it takes (which you very well know).
It simply shows how players can have a disproportionate impact on other players via wealth gained from only a few specific playstyles. In other words, there are “OP” playstyles when it comes to the economy. Anywhere else in the game something being “OP” is not tolerated for long as it’ll be balanced for the overall benefit of the game in general.
Disproportionate impact because you are better at doing something than others is not “OP”, it is the entire point of gaming.
Every time you complete a map you receive a bunch of goodies. This suggestion would severely harm your ability to get goodies.
For that reason, this is a really, really, really bad suggestion.
Do the map, get the goodies.
Under no circumstances should the account wallet be removed.
I am completely ambivalent towards suggestions that do not remove the account wallet, but I will show up and denounce those who seek to remove the greatest convenience improvement they have made to this game.
Odd, these very forums repeatedly claimed that the focus wasn’t on gameplay and development toward exciting story and mechanics because we didn’t have expansions (relying on the Gem Store, etc.) and now that we have expansion(s), it’s the same lament.
Again, what’s a Dev to do?
The people who said that before were incorrect. GW2 presented us with free content and free story updates at a frequent pace and only the people who wanted to pay paid. The people who complained about a lack of an expansion were in the wrong and unfortunately got their way so that now we do NOT get free content, we do NOT get free story updates, and now EVERYONE has to pay.
I have lots of negative opinions about the expansion people because they have ruined the only MMO I have ever enjoyed.
Not everyone has purchased HoT.

Looks to me like the price only really started to spike about a year ago.
There’s a couple of bizarre spikes in “Sell” listings, but the “Buy” listings have stayed much more steady. Not sure why they’ve gone as high as they have in the past year, though, just the same.
That price spike appears to be related to someone trying to corner the market by buying up the entire stock and relisting at an absurd price point. Since there is no reason to actually buy these bags, I’m sure they lost a lot of money in the attempt.
There are only 353 Moldy Bags available for sale, and those only because they were listed 3 years ago at too high of a price…
As an aside, how can one tell how long an item has been listed? I know I can see how long my items have been listed but I didn’t know we could see how old other people’s listings were. That information could prove quite handy, not only for buying but for future listings, as well.
We can’t actually see it, but if you go to a site that charts pricing history you can see if it has been very static at the price and volume to get an idea as to how active the market is.
In the case of these bags, someone bought out nearly the entire stock last October leaving only the most expensive ones from ancient times on the market. Because the market is nearly dead, those ancient expensive items appeared to be the “current” price and people started listing any they found at or below those prices.
Since nothing in those bags justifies those prices today and because the drop rate of the bags is nearly non-existent, it will likely take a very long time (years) for the market to accurately match the value.

Moldy Bags effectively DO NOT drop in the game any longer so what you see on the market today is not indicative of any aspect of supply, demand, or “scalping”.
You can’t be hostile and passive aggressive at the same time, so I’m not sure how you will go about doing that. I certainly will not be joining you with it.
Pedantic note:
Both Active and Passive-aggressiveness are forms of hostility, so every time you are being passive-aggressive you are also being hostile.
I’m more irritated by the fact that the search bar extends all the way across the top of your inventory which frequently causes me to click in it unintentionally while doing my typical Deposit and Compact ritual (my permanent items are always compact proof in my bags). This leads to my action/movement keypresses all going into a search instead of moving/activating skills.
ArenaNet has indicated that they intend to allow you to salvage WvW gear in an upcoming patch. It will salvage into the upgrades and WvW Badges (not materials).
He gave Rangers 24 hours of a useful skill. My guess is that he’s been fired…
Erm… moon and sun aren’t part of nature? And guess what plants need in order to grow
By that same argument we can state that the Charr war machines require fossil fuels to operate, and fossil fuels are made of plant matter. Ergo, Druid is thematically linked to tanks.
Short of it is, as some prior posts, if the cost to ‘craft’ the precursors is the same as buying on the trading post, what is the point?
The point is that now every related drop you get moves you closer to completion of your project, meaning you can obtain it without spending any gold.
Have you tried doing a repair on the game client?

I believe that traits can push a duration over 100%. All other sources will be capped at 100% though.
The objective of Precursor crafting was never to make it easier to get a Precursor (the design is not intended to match the COST of buying one, but rather to match the amount of effort/time required to forge one). The objective of Precursor crafting is to give players a non-RNG method where progress can be advanced towards the goal.
There is already a way like that. You can progress towards the goal of buying a precursor with by farming gold. Those precursors were initially obtained by RNG but i have never seen a time when there were no precursors of a certain type on the TP so it is safe to say that there will always be one on there that you can work to buy. Players wanted a third option that wasn’t entirely dependant on RNG or farming large sums of money. This method (seems) to bring the money farming plus a lot of running around.
Farming gold was trying to hit a moving target though, as the amount needed changed with supply and demand.
This new method has a fixed cost for everything, allowing you to have a measurable sense of progress.
Basically, the old ways of obtaining a Precursor were either 0% complete or 100% complete. The new way allows you to increment your completion by some value between those giving you a feeling of accomplishment that was lacking in the old system.
It’s not intended to make it easier, it’s intended to provide a more measurable and predictable experience.

Healers create a dilemma in any game in which the roles exists:
In order to make them a viable option you have to make them mandatory (because if you don’t need them, then it is ALWAYS better to replace them with more DPS). If you make them mandatory, then all the other specs will become unwanted (kind of like how it is right now since other classes do everything a ranger does but better).
With the addition of Druid one of two things will happen:
1. Every ranger will be forced to play as a Druid.
2. No ranger will be able to play a Druid.
In short, healing as a role breaks the game and should never, ever be used.
I mained R/Mo in GW1.
I’ve mained a Ranger since the beginning of GW2.
When you put lipstick on a pig, some people will fall in love with it. People that know better will point out that it is still a pig.
In this case we didn’t even get the pig.
And if you really like the ranger you would stop being so negative about it, being aware of its flaws and constantly focusing on it are 2 very different things.
The Druid is not fine how it is designed right now the same as the ranger is a subpar class. And that is a fact.
Now just curious how people will behave in one month or so after the release when they see its a bummer.
Way too many people are pointlessly crying like this. How can you say the Druid is not fine, when you haven’t even played it yet. You assume that it will be bad because of your own personal bias when in fact it could be very good. Inetead of whining, Theorycraftin stuff you think will be interesting to test out. Then you can actually give feedback after beta that doesn’t involve “waah Druid isn’t what I wanted it to be, waaah”.
Healing is not necessary.
Healing is not necessary.
Healing is not necessary.
Repeat that to yourself until it sinks in.
Got it? Ok, now think about what Druid can and cannot do.
Do you see now?
No? Ok, repeat after me again:
Healing is not necessary.
Pointlessly tacked on.
You can farm Silver Doubloons on your level 80 by killing Dredge in Lornar’s Pass.
The problem with healers is that in order to make them useful, you have to make them mandatory. If you make them mandatory, then you have just recreated the holy trinity. The LACK of a holy trinity was a main selling point (and the best part about) this game.
ArenaNet is going backwards by adding antique game content rather than developing new things and going forward. Raids, trinity, expansions, these are all the wrong direction for the game.
At this point it’s important to note that we can’t say for certain whether Anet has created a need for dedicated healers in PvE content until we play it.
I disagree completely that raids, trinity and expansions are the wrong direction for the game, but that’s just me.
There are plenty of games already out there that offer those things. We bought this game because it didn’t.
So yes, it is the wrong direction for this game.
The fact that you prefer it to go in the wrong direction, notwithstanding.

were people really expect something called “druid” to be dps oriented?
Couldn’t you simply research what druids are in gw lore?
And by the way, Druid is 10000 times more awesome then I imagined. Can’t wait for the sound effects.
And dude, you can have pet wyverns, come on.
No, we expected there to be good news for Rangers. This is basically a new class that the current Rangers didn’t want/need.
Agreed. Going from unwanted to mandatory means that it will be “Druid or kick” for all group content. Rangers wanted a spec that would make us useful, instead we are going to be pigeonholed into a healer role that NO ONE HAS EVER ROLLED A RANGER TO PLAY.
I am amused with the amount of complaints going on here about being a heal-bot and not being able to PEW PEW away in a dungeon/raid/where ever. Guys…we HAD NO PLACE before…we were taken because no one else would fill a slot. Now we should have a slot and rightfully so. We won’t be the joke profession any more and I am thrilled with that! Some players enjoy playing a healing profession and now we get the option to. If you want to still run around with your bow and bear and pew pew your heart out go for it…but don’t try to spoil the new toys for the rest of us!
You will only have a spot in the new content. You will be auto-kicked for all existing content.
So our Elite spec will be designed for raids, which are participated in by about 5% of a game’s playerbase (based on stats from other MMOs).
I knew bringing raids to GW2 was a bad idea, but I didn’t realize it was going to be this bad.
As expected, Druid was an afterthought.
I get 0-2 a day. I’m not sure what the weighting is, but I’ve definitely had some 0 streaks.
4 Weeks left, still missing a lot of info!

Again, it astonishes me that people are willing to pay $60 for things we have been getting for free.
Absolutely astonishing.
You are getting nothing that we weren’t getting before other than a handful of additions that are smaller than the updates we’ve gotten previously (again, for free).
This is a backwards step in terms of gaming progress, but I can see why they are doing it since so many players are more than willing to immediately rationalize dropping this money for nothing.
There is a relevant PT Barnum quote for this whole subforum…

My biggest concern is that launch is 4 weeks away and other than Raids (which I have no interest in), they’ve not yet given a single reason to actually buy this expansion at these price points since everything else in it is stuff that they have been giving us for free for the last 3 years.
You won’t be getting most of it for free anymore.
Everyone is getting on that pharmaceutical company CEO for jacking up the price of that drug, but ArenaNet is effectively doing the same thing (arbitrarily adding a price onto content that was previously free) and gets lauded.
I preferred the free content every few weeks versus the antique model of expensive content every 1-2 years and cannot conceive of a legitimate reason why anyone would prefer the latter.

It’s amazing to see how tons of people will come out and defend Anet for anything. Trolls aside, I’ll reiterate my points.
This is a dropless game. What does drop is largely useless to the guy who isn’t leveling toons.
-Most of the exotics are mostly gold bordered junk now too, with rare exception.
-Any fun utility items that used to drop have been all but removed from the game.
-Ascended which would at least be an upgrade for me, all but never drop.
-Blues and greens for salvaging were fun for a while. But getting to 300 MF is a treadmill goal that is all but unattainable for most. I stopped at 100 because it does nothing but make you poor.
Nothing against you here, but the loot system is designed in order to remove the grind aspect that some players prefer (because some players hate it).
By making the drops evenly distributed based on RNG versus having to grind a single enemy/instance repeatedly for it, you make it possible to obtain the things you want by playing the type of content you enjoy (by getting things all the time, selling them to others who want those things, and then buying the things you want).
If you are used to grinding (or if you like it), the loot system here will be a bit of a system shock to you. If you cannot or will not adjust your expectations to match the non-grind design, then maybe you should try out a few other MMOs to see if you can find one that better suits your playstyle.
Consider it revenge for that chicken sandwich you ate earlier.
If a chicken had eaten that chicken sandwich, would that have been cannibalism?
Chickens are actually notorious cannibals IRL.
I’m fine with downstate, they just need to prevent rally from kill in WvW.
If ArenaNet needs my voice talent during this strike I am certainly available.
If they are selectively punishing people then how are they targeting them? Forum posts?
I got forum infraction once because I say not nice thing about arena net. It seem like all I get for few week was junk drop. This of course was RNG work not conspiracy. Just thought funny.
I got a forum infraction once and promptly received The Colossus.
If you want drops, you need to be doing events in Orr.
If you are not doing events in Orr and are complaining about no drops, it is because you are doing it wrong.
Champ bags, Mystic Forge, and Silverwastes are all designed to eliminate the impact of Magic Find.
Because Reflects result in 200% damage mitigation, they should ALWAYS be a 50% chance to work (see Strider’s Defense). This will cause their overall damage mitigation to return to 100% (200% half of the time is 100%).
If it came paired with a 70-80% reduction in damage from all sources while under 50% health, then it might be worth a consideration.
As is right now, it is 100% irrelevant at all times and should never be used.
With the insane ability to apply burning that Guardian has right now, I’ve been wrecking with a condition build.
They didn’t save it, we’re simply a footnote not worth mentioning on our own.
You sound like you need a hug, pal.
Really! XD
Druid was the first they talked about. And the last to be revealed at a special event.
Sounds to me like something special. But please do insist negativity.
You must be new to Ranger. That’s good, it means you still have hopes and dreams and optimism.
We that have been playing Ranger for a while have to be negative, because then reality doesn’t hurt as much since we were expecting it.
If they saved it for something special like that . . .
HYPE OVERLOAD!
They didn’t “save it”, they don’t have enough to talk about so they plopped it in as an afterthought with something else.
