My connection is perfectly fine, but the patcher tried to download at 1kbs, then said there was a connection error. This from the number of people patching, or what?
I understand now why people only pvp in groups. trying to pvp in a pug is an absolute kittening nightmare of people not having a clue what direction to go in, only focusing on kills and just generally having no tactical sense at all.
Does this improve as I rank up, or will I just always have to be grouped to do well in pvp and have a team with some level of brain power?
inb4 it’s another book
not quite sure why you’re expecting a class designed around high mobility melee combat to be able to range as well as a class designed for ranged combat.
I feel like the only one in the world who likes Trahearne >.<
I like Trahearne, but I dislike the entire concept of being a supporting actor in my personal story
if your main goal is to be useful and demanded in parties/at events, then ele and guardian are unrivalled in the support their offer groups
would be nice to have some midgets in dresses, yes
Favourite: Necromancer. so much fun to play in both pvp and pve, whether you go powermancer or condimancer.
Least favourite: Engineer. so clunky and boring to play – and mesmer, just too fiddly and tedious
This suggestion would involve rewriting the entire game, which currently occurs over a period of a year or two at most. A character starting off as an eight year old child at character creation would be no more than ten at max level.
For all intents and purposes the character would be stuck as a child for the remainder of the life of the game.
Trahearn may be an idiot but I dont think even he would put a nine year old inpositon to be second in command of the Pact.
this guy didn’t actually read the OP, it seems
no thank you. Playing Fable’s intro scarred me for life ;(
You do not have any right or permissions to sell items that are not available in game for sale through the TP/to merhchants, plain and simple either for gold or real money.
If you attempt it, and it goes kittens up, it’s all on you.
generally specific areas do have concentrations of resources (mining nodes underground/in mountains, herb/veggie patches on farms, wood nodes in heavily wooded areas).
Nodes have specific placements, and are not randomly generated
if open PK comes to GW2 in any form I’ll uninstall and never look back.
All open PK does is turn game communities in to hostile environments
1: Something horribly underwhelming not worthy of the hype
You want guardians to have a smashing board? Works OK for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OykittendKlbM
Sometimes… shield becomes smashing board
Why not?
This is why not…
I laughed far too much at that
eh, if classes with the ability to want to waste a utility slot just to move faster, more power to them.
the sheer animosity generated by simply discussing this topic is reason enough for it to never be implemented in the game.
no thanks. nuts to your huehuehue 80 exp berserker speed run 5k ap + lfg
Precursors in the gem store = Pay to win. Period. There really is no other way to look at it. Crafting a legendary is the end game, but now you put it behind a pay wall. A move like this would be a terible, terrible, terrible, most horrible and Grenth blasted idea ever.
No.
How’s this pay to win? PvP stats are equalised and legendaries don’t offer much of a stat difference tonother gear.
I could understand you saying it’s pay to win if gear stats were a massive factor in pvp, or if legendary gear offered insane stat boosts, but they don’t
the only time a macro (or macro-esque technique) is acceptable is when it’s offering no in game advantage.
If you are using software allowing you to do something you normally could not, it’s against the rules (ie, an autoclicker that clicks faster than you can or clicks while you are away from keyboard).
for my luck/bag opening, I just have an autohotkey that I activate to click 10 times a second (well within what I can manage on my own) and disable it once all my stuff is consumed/opened
It’s not open ended or open to interpretation, just because you feel it is.
probably my first ranger. 80, full exotics with ascended accessories, all traits unlocked.
Just got bored of ranger, so deleted him to make room for something else
Also, if they add a new region (coughcanthacough) their personal story may be entirely different even if it’s based on the same time line.
stop talking about things you’d like to see because I say they won’t happen!!!11111oneone
You could just ignore threads about features you think won’t happen, you know.
As much as I do miss direct player-to-player trading, I realise that the TP’s fees are one of the key reasons our economy isn’t inflated beyond belief, so I think it’s a small price to pay
Moderating lots of forums takes up a lot of time. Time = salary. Salary = spent money.
Less forums to moderate means less time/employees. Less salary. Less expense.
Making a reduction in services provided sound like an improvement of customer service is about the oldest PR trick in the book.
The game isn’t dying, it’s just less alive.
what’s to moderate? the archives can’t be posted in.
Eh, I think duelling is moot in GW2. not for the animosity it generates, but because ANet staff have said in the past that the game will never be balanced around 1v1’s, but rather group pvp
This forum restructure is actually same as BURNING DOWN A LIBRARY.
Those topics and all the post in there are part of the 2 YEAR Guild wars 2 history and you will hide them from public ?
I maybe little bit of dramatic but this is against freedom of speech and leave the impressions that you’re trying to hide your past – your past which you’re ashamed of.
Instead of changing this rotten peace of no feature forum platform you’re trying to build an ICE castle in the middle of desert.
#SafeTheForums
Freedom of speech doesn’t apply to a privately owned forum that requires agreement to a terms of service to use. Just saying.

Engine optimisation.
The game looks amazing and is not a hog on system resources.
Lore.
The game lore is fantastic and I love how each map has it’s own story to tell through dynamic events
seasonal limited items are specifically designed for these feeling you are experiencing. They entice people to buy gems immediately during the small window in which the item is available.
The claim ticket weapon skins also make use of this limited-time marketing tactic, but to a larger extreme as we never know when the skins will be swapped out
can this thread be locked? All it is is people arguing over semantics and being asses
Would be nice to get different colours. Main reason I don’t play mesmer is because the particle effects are incredibly obnoxious. I’d definitely pay for something like this
It would be nice to have swifter responses from staff when it comes to gold sellers. Had the same one in DR whispering me for 3 days every time I’m there, reported it at least 20 times, still no sign of it being killed off.
Excluding community (guild/friends/etc) what keeps you playing GW2?
I’ve been playing a few months now, and I think I’m burning out a bit. Without anything to work towards (Ascended gear is just too much of a long term grind and expense for no significant advantage) things are just getting repetitive. every day I do exactly the same things, and it seems like there’s hardly any variety on things to do at 80 unless you’re a hardcore pvp/wvw’er.
I’ve got 12 characters to 80 now (keep deleting and remaking) and once my characters hit 80, I just feel a bit lost. I don’t want to spend all day doing the same dungeons and world bosses and content, but it seems like that’s all I end up doing when not just chilling out in DR and socialising with my guild
5 is the only one I care about, but it’s such a huge one. ANet doesn’t seem to be taking any feedback on board at all, and from what I’m told they haven’t once reverted a change met with huge negativity.
A game developer that doesn’t listen to or communicate with their customers is not a good thing. I mean they have a position specifically for forum communications and Gaile can’t/won’t even answer 90% of our questions/concerns directly, if at all.
Bifrost, nice tip of the hat to Norse mythology with the name and the rainbow theme, while not being massively over the top with an obnoxious trail and glowy crap like other legendaries.
I’d love an arc/LS that delves in to Anise’s story. She’s so mysterious and clearly has sources everywhere and a lot of knowledge, but where does it all come from?
Human beings enjoy the feeling of progression, this is why many grindy as hell games are still super popular. The level/skill point bar is an enticement for people to play. removing the journey of levelling up will turn off a lot of people (I myself would feel no sense of accomplishment having no levelling grind. I feel accomplished when I get a character to 80)
There’s a lot of nay-sayers on the forums, but there’s a huge number of people playing, enough to participate in major events and world bosses (and fill multiple maps) even in the middle of the day.
I’m currently diddling around in unranked trying to get used to necro. I’m finding sceptre/focus condition damage build fun, but my guild says power necro with daggers is the best way to play them in pvp?
What are the advantages of each one?
they’re both great games, but if GW2 was your first MMO, I can understand the preference to GW2. My first MMO’s were ultima, wow, etc. 5 different skill bars, a myriad of skills for any situations, etc are what I’m used to (and honestly prefer, in my personal opinion GW2’s UI and skills are too oversimplified)
The community (Both in-game and on the forums) is very polarised about the game’s health. Some say it’s dying, others say it’s going strong.
Personally, I feel population is declining, but there’s still plenty of people around to do events, dungeons, world bosses, etc even in the middle of the day on a weekday, so things can’t be too bad
it’s a precaution against people who may not have been in their legitimately. doesn’t take less than 5 seconds to walk outside the gate before you log off.
Under water combat doesn’t suck, it just needs tweaking (like not letting sharks aggro you from across the ocean as soon as you go under water >.>).
I enjoy the under water stuff and would love to see underwater combat expanded upon, or have entire under water maps
never happened to me, it’s likely your graphics card/driver that can’t handle screenshotting while rendering the amount of things it does at a world boss
Short and sweet: if you log in for the first time in a day, then log out and back in without claiming your log in reward chest, the log in reward chest vanishes from the UI and can’t be claimed for that day.
Loved how they took on the asian theme, no anime styled “imagine a bad word here” which I am sick of, it had a dark atmosphere I really loved and Winds of Change.
to be fair, when GW1 was in it’s prime, the “anime craze” hadn’t hit America like it has now.
Metrics
I personally would just like to see something other than western style architecture and locales in the game.
