As it’s being brought up in like 8 different threads without anyone actually reading the solution, to disable the sepia colour filter people are complaining about, simply disable post processing in your in-game graphics options.
This will have the side effect of removing effects like the green tint from necro deathshroud, but hey
You can disable the colour filter by turning off postprocessing
I myself really enjoy the outfits, How else would my necro be able to look like a truly terrifying undead knight, or my Ranger me able to wear something other than a kittenty trench coat
it reminds me of winnie the pooh, floating along on a balloon
context is a wonderful thing
can this topic get locked already?
One of the reasons GW2’s economy is stable is because of the TP listing fees, I see no reason to remove or cap them

No please. these sorts of faction divides are what turn communities in to hate-fuelled cesspits
You just described a full-offense glasscannon, you have no defensive traits, and you expect to not get annihilated by some of the smartest and most well-designed mobs in the game?
Thanks for a super helpful and informative post.
Try Invigorating Precision and maybe Dagger/Pistol. But I am usually fine just using IP and the normal Dagger/Dagger build. Something like this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fZAQNAoYVl0MpwpdOx0J0PNRLRtdHECjoXvh2XQAEiA-TBBXgAA7PK/C1H0r+zjSQA-eObviously you can use Executioner too, but IP makes things so much easier. You can also swap Furious Retalation for Practiced Tolerance to avoid burst better. If you decide to use Pistol offhand, move 1 point from deadly arts to trickery.
If thas still to troubeling, go for the s/p build with 56003 and the dual traits.
Thanks a lot, invigorating precision really made a huge difference
So I’m in love with thief as a class, been doing really well in pvp, kicking butts in dungeons and other pve, however almost everything in the silverwastes kicks the kitten out of me.
How do I go about staying alive in the silverwastes? I’m full berserker/scholar 6/6/0/0/2 and have force/fire sigils for all of my weapon sets (d/d, d/p, s/p, s/d, p/p, p/d, sb) but things like teragriffs and thrashers just annihilate me
If you hate vistas just wait until you find jumping puzzles.
Seriously though, I myself really enjoy exploring the maps and finding all the high up hidden nooks and crannies, you can get amazingly views of the world without even using a vista if you really try.
Vanity storage has been a thing in MMO’s for almost a decade
Not sure what maps you go on, but my experience with the GW2 community is incredibly positive.
Sure there’s the occasional asshat, but you get those regardless of where you go, in life and online. They’re best left completely unacknowledged except for a report to ANet
you can’t crack an MMORPG because only the client assets are stored locally. everything from talking to npc’s to moving around on the map requires communication to and from the game server to be able to happen.
Offline games are cracked easily by simply circumnavigating the programs security measures, as all files necessary to play an offline game are stored locally, requiring no input to or from a game server in order to play
With a lot of time, effort and knowhow someone in the distant future might be able to emulate GW2 server responses to create an offline GW2 experience, but I doubt anyone has the time, willpower or reason to do so

Traherne goes dark side :O
That would be an interesting and potentially awesome twist. Leader of the pact suddenly batting for the other team
pretty sure it was already touched on that specialisations are a part of the mastery system
Well, there’s the Dev Tracker, but it would be nice to have a “Go to first ArenaNet post” button in topics.
I for one don’t understand why we can’t get numerical hp readings, myself. Would make life a lot easier
Generally warriors tend to go for Berserker stats, which is Power, Precision, Ferocity (power being the highest). Berserker gear builds are considered the best for PvE content, ensuring high damage output.
This page offers an in-depth explanation for what each stat does.
The wiki in general is my go-to info source for anything I want to know about (You can access the wiki in game by using the /wiki command in chat, for example “/wiki Warrior” will bring up the wiki page for the warrior profession in your default browser.
Other than the wiki, I strongly advise making use of the extremely friendly community we have here in GW2. Ask questions in map chat, seek out an active guild and so on, there’s almost always someone willing to lend a hand with issues. The guilds I have joined have taught me a hell of a lot about the game and what direction to go in.
I also strongly recommend using dulfy.net. here is the dulfy guide to a great pve warrior build used by a lot of players
salvage anything you can’t use that isn’t a high value exotic/precursor, salvage, salvage, salvage. the amount of gold you can make from selling salvaged mats, while not huge, is consistent.
Purely from salvaging equipment drops as a level 80 I make 15~25g per day.
You can also buy heavy crafting bags with laurels if you chose, which roughly equates to ~75 silver per laurel, with more if you’re lucky
the dance, pretty much. humans have some derpy disco move, sylvari have a bollywood dance routine, otherwise they are the same in terms of animation
To my knowledge it is very difficult to bleed, poison, confuse or torment a piece of wood/masonry.
Burning I’ll give you, but that’s about it.
not been ditched, just not showing anything actually happening with it right now that we, the forum community, can see
Metrics confirmed that new players are too stupid to understand that being dead and having a big interface show up on your screen wasn’t a clear enough indicator that you can’t currently use your other skills.
The metrics said it.

it sounds to me like you’re comparing a legendary weapon skin in GW2 to a legendary champion skin in league of legends, to be honest.
A legendary weapon skin in Guild Wars is a status symbol and sign of a lot of time/money invested in to an account. A legendary champion skin in league of legends (I own all and play a lot of league with a lot of money invested in to it, by the way, so it’s not an insult to league) is simply a redesign of a champion’s base texture and particles with a new voice over and nothing more than a sign you’ve put at least $15 towards the game at some point
The legendary weapon skins are instantly recognisable, make you stand out from the crowd and are unique to only that weapon, this is what gives them their legendary status, and it’s a job they do very well

for a casual player, exotic is more than enough to do all content apart from level 10+ fractals. Ascended is only necessary for completing higher level fractals, where you need agony resistance
If mace is the case, then I hope thief gets it.
I want thief to get a rifle or longbow, they’re the only class without access to a 1200 range weapon
Was just wondering if there’s a list or guide anywhere regarding what mob gives what F1 bundle
Ranger has the highest dps of the two if we’re talking flat damage in full berserker set ups.
Having said that, if I was given a choice between having a guardian in my party or having a ranger, I’d pick the guardian every time, due to the sheer amount of party support they offer.
Every class can dish out a hell of a lot of damage if built for it, and guardian can offer far more to a party than ranger can.
I also actively play both guardian and ranger, and can vouch that guardians are far more useful in parties
wow… 10 hours a day on average and not bored or burnt out?
Also people please don’t judge, it’s not your business what people chose to do with their time, for all we know OP may be disabled and not be able to get out of the house or something, or they may simply love GW2.
So what sort of stuff do you do each day to keep you interested 10 hours a day each day? I’m curious.
Check out Guild Wars 2 Music Box if you want some really awesome AHK scripts for songs. Harp is one of the most popular ones people write song scripts for, too.
I’d definitely get one as I enjoy changing up my looks, but I doubt ANet would make it given I know some people that go through 50+ transmutes a week, so it’s likely a top seller in the gem store
Revenant gear unlocked in account wardrobe?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: rapthorne.7345
Just wanted to point developers to a thread made in General Discussion here, in which someone appears to be wearing the revenant starter armour set in rata sum (seems devs have more watchful eyes on this forum that others). Could it be that the beta testers who played revenant got the armour unlocked in their wardrobe account-wide?
I will check my wardrobe as soon as I’m home from work. I didn’t get an unlock at the bottom right of the screen while playing the beta, but you are making me paranoid now xD
Uhnlocks from character creation (like the necromancer/mesmer face masks, etc) do not give unlock notifications

Isn’t that just a mace?
This.
I’d love a wardrobe/storage/etc for my perm gathering tools and toy items, keeping track of what character has what on it is tedious
I’m happy with the transmute system. The main thing that would have me buying a lot more gem store skins is having things that match more (some skins just don’t go well with pretty much anything), and less “partial” armour sets
I hate to break it to you, but the PvE in Guild Wars 2 is probably the easiest of any MMO I’ve ever played
I play via satellite connection, and I have no problems except the very occasional drop out due to weather. I can play pvp fine and get no lag at world bosses/in pvp/wvw.
Thankfully we live in an age where data transfers are highly optimised, you do not need a very high-speed connection at all to experience client based MMO’s well (Most MMORPG’s go through only 5~30 kb/s depending on activity).
Ping is more important than speed, and I get a 100~150ms ping connecting from the UK to the NA servers, so I expect you’ll be perfectly fine
ranger is incredibly flexible and can survive very well in pvp… not sure where you get that they’re handicapped vs other classes, because it’s really not true.
As for revenant, right now they outdo every class in pvp, but they’re in very early beta phase and will be balanced out by the time the expansion is ready for release, trying to strategise against a class that will inevitably see major balance changes before it’s released is a bit poiintless
It’s all marred by the total inflexibility of the class, unfortunately. utility skills locked in to legends without being able to be switched out.
Will be an amazing class to play, will just miss the customisation options
most people I know buy the heavy bags, you get about 70~80 silver per laurel with them, other people use them to buy ascended trinkets. It’s really up to you and whether you want to gear up or cash in.
my thief uses dagger/pistol. s/p useful mainly for the 3 skill, which dazes, gives evasion frames and gives a lot of damage (9 strikes on up to 3 enemies, each hit on each enemy also triggering signet of malice if you’re using that heal skill)
honestly your preferences contradict one another. you want to be tanky but don’t enjoy heavy armour… don’t get that, tanky classes use heavy armour.
As for overall preferences, I’d strongly recommend thief or ranger. it takes a while to get used to thief play style, but once you do you will have a very hard time dying. not sure if you’re using underleveled gear or just a weird weapon combo, but there’s no reason at all as a thief to be dying to same level mobs.
Downside to thief is that in higher end pve content (fractals, some dungeons) you will get the snot kicked out of you if you don’t pay attention.
Ranger is a brilliant jack of all trades class that does everything very well, it’s an easy to use class, deals a lot of damage in range or melee (greatsword or sword/horn are great dps) and is pretty tanky on top of having the option to let their pet tank for them and uses the medium armour set which, at a higher level, features a lot of the coats you seem to prefer.
Honestly it feels to me like you’ve spent not even an hour on each of the classes to come to the conclusions that you have. Since the npe, most of the classes require getting to the 30’s or higher (having unlocked most/all utility skills and elite skills) to experience their true potential

I also received this email, and I do not own a twitch account, so I’m not sure what’s going on there.
Also please edit the topic title to be more specific, I thought GW2 had been compromised or something.
Could this be a breakaway from berserker only meta?
I sure hope so
Everyone talking about modern engines seems to be forgetting that GW2 was built on a modified version of the GW1 engine. Obviously it will not have the features of more recent engines, and to suggest that ANet should invest exorbitant time and money in completely replacing a satisfactory engine is ridiculous.
But ANet have clearly shown that they are willing and able to add new features to the game engine, as can be seen with several revenant skills and the hang glider mechanic, among other things.
ANet developed the engine themselves, after all. thinking they can’t/won’t expand and update it as the game grows is a bit silly
it promotes panic buys and makes people rush out to get gems where they normally would not, pretty common sales tactic especially with digital goods
