And people enjoy that. If you don’t, then don’t duel.
GW2 was designed with class synergy in mind: different classes with different damage, control and utility skills, combo fields, AoE sharing (and stripping) boons and conditions. That’s why PvP has the 5v5 structure, and the objective is to hold points, and not kill each other.
GW2 is also designed to be soloable too. Which is why there are selfish skills and personal storyline that can be completed alone. It is also why AoE sharing is not targetable so that you don’t need to select other people.
Since dueling is not a supported game mode, it is natural that the available method to duel (custom arena) has inconveniences.
This is a reason why dueling needs support because it has inconveniences such as griefing.

I wouldn’t mind buying some new gear, but I only buy armor. I like to mix and match. What’s the point of doing a full outfit?
I do not want full set of armor in gemstores.
They are expensive. 800 gems for one set vs. 700 gems for an outfit. 2400 gems for all three sets. I also have to buy transmutation stone if I want the old look again. With outfit, I can switch to my outfit or my armor.
I rather that ANet add 100 more outfits than adding three more gemstore armor because the outfit will have all my money.
Armor should be free instead.

The biggest problem I find with GW2 is that content just doesn’t feel fresh. I am always going into the path of least resistance and never anywhere else.
Merge dungeons with Fractals and then up the reward to 10g/20g/30g/etc. Then there can be a Fractal finder tab to join fractal instance from anywhere. This will give fractals 32-100 new path and a ton of more variety of boss fights. To solve players that keeps refreshing to get the shortest path/swamp fractal, every day will have a pre-determined path. Meaning, it is no longer random when you choose. There are a ton of instances and choices to keep fractal fresh.
Dungeon currencies will now be converted to fractal currency. While exclusivity is important, it is lost the moment when ANet put dungeon rewards in sPvP. I don’t need to set my foot in Arah to get Arah gear. I can simply just rank reward farm my way.
After 1000 runs, no one cares about the lore, if you do then don’t join my group I don’t want you to watch the storyline. If ANet wants to keep lore, then ANet can make explorable path be a side story instance that can be done alone or with 5 people. Those would give a one time reward like a story mode path. This way, ANet doesn’t need to completely trash explorable path. Then ANet put the short and harder path and more fun boss fights in Fractals. They can recycle old mobs while still keeping the lore about them with the side story instances.
ANet can include also Living Story season 2 instance and boss fights. They are really fun and deserve a fractal instance. This will allow fractals to grow while more Living Story is created.
Fractals 10-19 should have no agony involved. Mainly so that players without Ascended Gear can play two or three different daily fractal instance. Add a level 60 Fractal path and shift the agony progression starting at level 20 instead of level 10. Fractal 10-19 will still drop Pristine fractal tokens so players can acquire ascended rings.
I won’t pretend it is an easy task, but this suggestion will allow Fractal/challenging content to grow:
- Recycle old content.
- Can recycle newly added content.
- Add tons of new boss fractal already and can easily add some more new bosses. I want to fight a harder Forgeman boss, he was epic. I want to fight Kodan’s Bane again. ANet can easily add Shadow of the Dragon which is one of my favorite.
- Bring every dungeon players together. No more waiting for people on doing a instance that no one wants to do.
- Cut down the frustration and boring parts of dungeon instance. Instead of a 6 hour path, ANet can simply cut down the entire annoyance away. Looking at SEp2 and Aetherblade.
- It also benefits new players. They can watch the dungeon instance cinematic without needing to interrupt because the speedrunners are doing fractals.
- Less clutter on the lfg finder UI.
- Daily paths will feel fresh every day because there are 32 or more different instance that can be comboed for 3 paths. More instances can be added through living story.

People have been asking for some dungeon loving for… well 3 years almost now.
ANet should just merge dungeons with Fractals and then up the reward to 10g. Then there can be a tab to join fractal instance from anywhere.
Here I see a problem of convenience vs lore / story. I think fractals are probably going to be the place we see new small group content (beyond LS). But I do kinda feel that there’s still a place for dungeons.
After 1000 runs, no one cares about the lore.

4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
You realize metabattle isn’t the end all of builds. Burst precision has a distinct and build defining use as does burst mastery.
Metabattle is at least much more convincing than taking your word. When I tried creating different builds with it, I was sorely disappointed with that trait. It is clearly a trash trait.
I will not be listening to any typed up arguments based on speculation because I prefer evidence. You could also submit the build here and I could try it. But then you would think I would be biased if it turned out to be a terrible build.
Also, if you want my evidence:
Trash build 1
Trash build 2
The fact that there is no good builds that have Burst precision. Now, I’ll be waiting for evidence that back up your claim that burst precision is good.
I truly feel sorry for you. And I hope you realize that metabattle is kitten.
Then contribute to it. If your builds are better than the ones in metabattle or decent enough to be stand against great builds, the site would appreciate your contribution.
So far, I’ve tested and played many pvp builds in metabattle and many of them, if not all, aren’t downright trash except the “testing” builds. That alone is enough for me to trust metabattle than some dude on the internet. A single good viable build in metabattle that has burst precision is enough for me to change my opinion. That is all it takes. If you can get bearbow in the meta/great sPvP section and the moderator allows it, then it enough for me to lose my trust in metabattle. That is all it takes.
I don’t know why you are uncomfortable with metabattle, but if you have evidence that is better than metabattle have to offer? I am all open to that. Now here is why I don’t take words of internet strangers or youtube videos.

Anyone speculating that druids will get new pets?
- Nature spirits- ANet probably made utility Nature spirits stationary to differentiate Druid’s Nature spirit vs the utility.
- Spirit pets- Pets but transparent.
- Oakhearts- Because they’re cool.
- Sylvari pets- Just because…
Speaking of spirit pets, Ranger’s F5 skill could be Pet spirit form. It would give them a spirit form that gave them a way better F2 skill. Or morph the druid and pet together to make a transformation like the WoW series.

@Tigaseye:
Look through the forums … dig through the past several years. You’ll find this little situation occurs:
(1) The community is largely saying “X” sucks so bad.
(2) Someone tries X and loves it … masters it.
(3) That someone makes videos showing how good they can be with it and how awesome it is.
(4) The community suddenly accepts it.It’s not always the case with every skill / trait / etc. but it has happened plenty of times.
In WvW, I’d say it depends on what I’m doing and what I need as far as if I want a Ranger or another class. If people still haven’t figured out which classes are ideal for which roles … that’s their own deficiency. GWEN isn’t ideal everywhere. It just has a large enough success rate that the bandwagon has jumped on it.
Thinking is apparently hard … so some/many don’t do it and just go with the bandwagon.
Which is why I usually say, submit your build to metabattle
So other people can peer-review the build using that skill.

Something that you would have noticed if you had read the whole suggestion. But frankly speaking, it seems like you’re discrediting any other turret suggestion just to push yours. Since you did the same to the MiniEquine thread.
I can understand you may like yours more, but this attitude is nonetheless annoying.
I don’t like yours either, but i don’t go there with hyperbolic statements about “the total destruction of turrets”.
The more I read it, the more I read a class mechanic suggestion, not a utility skill rework. In a turreteer profession, I want this for a class mechanic.
But it isn’t a class mechanic, it is for utility skill.

4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
I’m going to disagree with that 100%.
I don’t want a stunbreak. I already got a lot of stunbreaks on necros. I already got tons of stun defenses like Rune of the Nightmare, doom, reaper’s protection.
I need stability. Something that lets me stomp safely. I’ll trade that worthless stunbreak for more stability. DS breaks stomp channel, so I can’t just watch the 2 downed skill animation.
Isn’t stomping generally considered to be a bad idea pretty much most of the time? In my somewhat limited experience the meta seems to be just kill the dead with your normal attacks rather then trying to stomp. If you’re in a team fight and you down someone it seems like you should just put a DoT on them to stop them healing and then focus on the ones who are still alive.
When you’re a condi necro. You don’t have cleave skills. Staff 1 pierces but it does very little damage. Marks do not activate on downed people.
The only choice is to stomp unless you want the downed player to be revived.

That is the purpose of balancing.
So I can play the pre-existing class and the new class.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
If turrets was a class mechanic, sure. Make it more complicated. But it isn’t.
It is a utility skill.
I can’t see the issue. Who said utilities always have to be straight and simple?
Other classes already have utilities with charges – elementalists’ summoned weapons.
This is just a sort of AI minion with charges attached, whose abilities deplete charges, whose defensive abilities depend on charges, and with charges that replenish with time. A charge based minion, basically.
On a class that hasn’t even to bother with a second weapon, at least by default, and that alone make us simpler than other classes.
So if we want to add some complexity, we’ll have to depend on utilities.
Be it kits, or other things.
You do realize that conjure weapons has no viability in PvP. Most of them aren’t even viable for PvE play. Remove Lightning hammer’s blast on auto and remove Icebow 4, and you basically remove conjure weapons. ANet also said they will do that.
If ANet added this to Turrets, it is just work to destroy turrets. It is much easier to just raise the cooldown to 900 seconds to destroy turrets completely.
What you listed is a great example of why ANet should not implement your suggestion on turrets.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
(edited by runeblade.7514)
Who said they can’t be a bit complicated?
They’re an utility skill, right. But our class is basically focused on utilities.
It isn’t like kits are much different in that regard. If we can play while taking care of multiple cooldowns from multiple kits, then having a single value for utility to consider will be relatively better.
After all, until now, turrets have been even far too simple. Put them down, toolbelt is essentially disabled, you can use only an overcharge every now and then.
That made using multiple turrets very limiting on our part. Sure, enemies may have died, but that was mostly because of sustained pressure from autoattacks, rather than our active plays. Cause our active play consisted as most of chaning few weapon skills and some overcharges – and such a limited selection made for predictable plays.I’m not pretending that my suggestion is perfect. But as far as them being turrets, i can’t think of anything better.
I’ve read your suggestion. Those are all but turrets. Like you said yourself in that thread, they’re more like spells/skills, phantasm-like. What’s the point, then? We’re just giving up on the whole concept of turret if we do some change like that.
Also, they end up being far too similar to gadgets in my opinion. Heh, we could just have the overcharge directly as a skill and it wouldn’t change almost anything as far as gameplay goes (it isn’t like the turret actually does something, after all, beside being eventually detonated).
You wrote about it as a better suggestion. But frankly, i can’t agree – those aren’t even turrets, after all.
If turrets was a class mechanic, sure. Make it more complicated. But it isn’t.
It is a utility skill.

How do you know Banshee is the Necromencar elite specc?
We don’t, this is just a speculation thread. I believe it’ll happen because of the reasons I stated in the first post
Necromancer’s Banshee getting support shout is dumb.
- I can understand Banshee getting Shouts.
- I can understand Necromancers needing support.
- I don’t understand Banshee using shouts to support allies.
It sounds dumb when a Banshee is yelling at their allies like, “YOU GO GET STRONGEEEER!!!!!”
A Banshee shout would be, “SCREEECH! I’M SHOUTING STUFF HERE TO SCARE YOUUUUU!!! SCREECCCHHH!!!!”
If Banshee gets shouts, It should be a CC spec, not a support spec.
I don’t see the necro shouting at all. For them to use words to direct phantoms/spirits, I can understand, but giving orders just seems odd. Like I said, necromancers are on the dark side of society so it’d be really odd for them to lead others. Heck, the reason for turning to necromancy is usually not a pretty one (like a dead mother/friend/cat).
A banshee shouting at enemies. Do you see that?

My fix is to give Turrets a significantly low duration, Somewhere around 5 seconds. Then make it stronger, and make it invulnerable.
- This will make it PvE/WvW friendly.
- This will make it great for mixed builds.
- Fortified turret will make it possible to have a full turret build.
This will remove the passive playstyle that many people dislike.
I’ve got to say, this is the best alternate solution I have seen yet. The only downside being is that it would require an extensive rework of most of the turret traits, which I do not see Anet committing to. However, this is possibly one of the best things they could do for turrets. Thank you, I’ll follow you on your linked thread.
I don’t see many extensive rework to be that complicated.
- Turret last 5 seconds. Solution: reduce duration from 5 minutes to 5 seconds. Turrets already blow up when duration ends.
- Invulnerability- Give turrets the invulnerability buff
- Some Turrets projectile animation just need to be changed. But not extensive enough to not do it.

I think the man has a point there, even if he doesn’t express it quite clearly. There is no real trade-off for being a Chronomancer it seems (I’ll wait for the stream to be sure). You will lose some skills, gain some, but in the case of shatters, you just gain one.
The new F5 looks a lot like our current Distorsion. It’s technically an immunity to all incoming damage for 1-4s (I’m pretty sure about the length, though it hasn’t be confirmed). The differences are:
- The new F5 will likely be on a slightly longer CD.
- You cannot wait for your skills to recharge with the new F5 (since you return to where you were in space-time)
- You can cast skills and they will be recharged instantly after the F5 ends.
- You can maybe die during the new F5 if you’re not careful, but that’s not even sure.A logical choice would have been, regarding the similarities between the two skills, to just replace Distorsion by this new shatter. But since we can use both, I fear that not picking the elite specialization will be a bad choice, no matter the build.
I agree with this.

First of all, every turret is tied with a resource (displayed as a boon, so that even enemies can see it). Said resource is called Energy. If UI changes can be done…
I stopped reading right there. Turrets shouldn’t be that complicated. They are a utility skill, not a class mechanic.

My 2 cents:
You gain resistance when your endurance is full.
Duration: 2 s
Pulses every 2 seconds (When endurance is full)This would really change your playstyle and would reward active play (only dodging when absolutely necessary).
More like passive play. Don’t dodge if you don’t want condi necro to kill you.

Honestly, I also think that FitG is better than ever. Having a stunbreak on a 10" CD (!!) is incredible!
I agree that 1 stack of stability for 3" is pretty puny, especially now it’s been nerfed. But it’s enough to make it reasonably safe to shroudstomp, or to flash and get off your heal. Yeah they can still interrupt you, but that was already the case if there was another necro on the enemy team (I’ve interrupted many a stability stomp with corrupt boon).

Hambow would probably be Arms, Defense, and Discipline.
Arms: Berserkers Fury, Rending Strikes, Burst Precision
Defense: Dogged March, Cleansing Ire, Defy Pain
Discipline: Warriors Sprint, DotE, Merciless Hammer
Lol Burst precision.

On a traited Cele shout warrior in PvP this thing clocks in at 8773 healing per 16s, and benefits from Rune of the Soldier. That’s 548 group HPS alone, vs. Healing Signet’s selfish 394.
Plus, you cranked the normal 600 shout radius to 1200. On the other hand, it can’t have a cast time because other shouts are instant. I see it’s kept in line with other shouts when it serves your preferences. :P
This needs to be beaten to a pulp by the nerf bat. It’s too easy, and puts up 6.9 times as many green numbers up as Healing Signet in a 5v5, and has other utility too. Try to aim for some diversity, seeing as Shouts are the most competitive in one game mode already.
Taking into account that Rune of the Soldier and Vigorous Shouts & Lung Capacity are gonna be taken, I think the numbers should be closer to:
“Victory Is Mine!” | Activation Time: 1/2s | Recharge Time: 25s
“Heal yourself. Gain adrenaline for each condition on nearby foes.”
Heal: 4,200 (1.50)
Adrenaline: 1
Number of Targets: 5
Range: 600With 638 Healing and the proper traits, it’s still a godly upgrade from Healing Signet to Shout Warriors. Healing Signet passive is getting nerfed btw. You will have the same self survivability as current Healing Signet, and gain a huge amount of support from thin air, where there was none present before. I bet if Anet used this idea they wouldn’t even make it as good as my suggestion, yours is just a herald of the apocalypse haha. All good though, I have a feeling they won’t change Healing Surge as much as some may hope, anyways.
People don’t realize how huge a buff it is to be in the shouts category and benefit from all those traits..
I rather have Healing surge than that.

Gonna say no because of that.

Mesmers need its own F5 skill or Chronomancer’s F5 replaces the F4 skill(Distortion) instead.
I don’t care what ANet does either way, I want to make a choice of being a mesmer or being a Chronomancer. I do not want to be a Chronomancer because it is way stronger than mesmer.

I think that mesmer should have their own F5 skill or Chrono’s F5 skill gets into the F4 slot.

I’m trying to make a condi necro…. and you can be condi scepter or condi staff… but not both.
Is that diversity? or just one more example of how much necros suck?
It depends, is either build viable for PvP play?
If not, it is just one more example of how much necros suck. Also, an example of useless diversity.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Please don’t do this <\3
Staff is not a condition weapon, it’s a universal utility weapon. Curses are basically strictly for conditions now, I’d be very sad if this happened.I rather take Speed of shadows over Soul Mark. Soul Marks should just be baseline and staff mastery should take its place.
Staff 20% CD should just merge with Greater marks in Death Magic and the Life force should become baseline, that would be GREAT (as a personal preference to have the staff trait in death where it has always been). But cmon… Either way~ not likely to happen because #Necromancer.
I rather have it on Soul reaping because it is the jack of all trades traitline.

So what I hear some people saying is, this is not destroying diversity, except for the diversity for builds that suck?
I for one like experimentation. And what was meta today wasn’t a year ago, and may not be next year. Experimentation sometimes creates new more exciting builds.
So please don’t go around acting like they are just removing builds that “suck.” You never know if someone finds a combination that ends up being excellent.
Except, of course, that entire set of math is changing.
According to this post,
Okay, NOW it should be good.
6/4/2/2 yields the most results with 19,627,920 different combinations
3/3/3/3/2 yields the least results with 7,776 different combinations
66,713,226 different possible trait combinations with the current system
196,830 different combinations with the new system
99.7049% reduction in trait combination by switching to the new system.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H9KAc7ghxmrxsq0bkWNALddKMkETmdQ1dW-eS7Xa8Hc/edit?usp=sharing
There is about 196 thousand ways to create your trait builds, down from 66 million.
Have you actually tried more than 196 thousand ways to build your character?

Personally I’d have preferred the Hammer trait to move to Grandmaster in the defense tree than in the Discipline tree, because I have never really had any interest in any of the defense GM traits (and still don’t),
I think it was an attempted disguise to try to kill Hambow build by making Merciless Hammer compete with the same spot as Burst Mastery.
On the otherhand, I think that Body blow and Distracting strike may revive it.
Especially body blow. I can see myself dropping stances for Physical skills. I can massively inflict tons of weakness and bleed stacks with hammer/kick/stomp/rampage.

Nerf to FITG has hurt necros too much.
You mean the very significant buff to FitG? Because it is significantly better now than it ever has been since Shade was nerfed to create it.
I don’t consider the added stunbreak to be a buff. I wanted stability, not stunbreaks. I already got a ton of stunbreaks already.
I needed FITG to stomp people.

I say no because it is way too OP and warriors don’t need Dogged March all that much.
It is strong, but not necessary for warriors to be viable. If I brought a shield, I would take shield mastery over dogged march any day.
And I would kite you all day.
Ok, I’ll just shoot you with my longbow while I’m standing on the point.
If I have MH sword, I’ll make sure you can’t kite me.
If you’re shoutbow then you’re using dogged march anyway, so what point are you even making?
Sometimes I use sword/shieldbow.
