Don’t bother argue with Chopper and runeblade. They’re close-minded Warrior main who want infinite buffs for Warrior without trade-off. They have the most subjective view , that you should never take any of their points seriously. Also they have the tendency to insult people without providing “proof” to validize their credibility.

You wanted proof, why didn’t you say so?

Lets look at metabattle. It isn’t perfect, but at least it is the only site that narrows build to builds that actually works.

Why Cleansing Ire with no trait investment is a good thing? Maybe because gaining an entire master trait for free, one of the strongest and most defining master traits in the game, will have some slight balance repercussions. You can now get Dogged March, Cleansing Ire, Last Stand, AND Defy Pain in one build.

Because then there is actually a balanced choice. If it is not balanced, then it is way easier to balance than currently. Last Stand and Cull the Weak will never be choices while Cleansing Ire is still in that same spot. Last Stand and Cull the Weak would need to buffed immensely to compete against Cleansing Ire. Example, Last Stand: cooldown is 10 seconds. CtW: applies weakness at -90% hp. That sounds OP to you? Well, it is enough for me to decide if I want to lose Cleansing Ire over it.

Of course, ANet could nerf Cleansing Ire instead. But if it is nerfed to the point where it is a balanced choice between LS and CtW, warriors will fall out of existence and will be even lower than trash tier.

It wouldn’t be just Dogged March, Cleansing Ire, Last Stand, AND Defy Pain in one build. It could be Shield Mastery, Cull the Weak, Sundering Mace because those three traits look like it works well together. It could be Armored Attack/Last stand/Rousing Resilience because those three looks like it works well together.

That is three distinct combination vs. Dogged March/Cleansing Ire/Spiked armor/Defy Pain.

Indifferent to the defense stuff even if it’s a bit over the top in a way.

The idea for baseline Fast Hands and warriors sprint is just silly and selfish. Warriors don’t need it, for one, and classes don’t have hidden passives baseline like that. It would be a very unintuitive design change.

Engineer have 1 second weapon swap.

Cleansing Ire should be a minor. The other two major traits in the same line cannot compete against Cleansing Ire because CI is necessary for warriors to be viable. With CI being a minor, the master major traits will be equally good and warriors have some choice over what they want in the defense line. I can then actually see a choice in picking between Last Stand, Cull the weak, and Spiked armor. I can’t see CI being baseline, but as a minor trait would do it.

FH should be baseline. It’d make warrior feel a little bit more distinct and then they could balance EVERY warrior trait and skill around the warrior having it. Discipline won’t be a require traitline anymore. Instead of Defense/Disc/x, it’ll just be Defense/x/x. Which will open up more diversity choice for warriors.

Warrior sprint shouldn’t be baseline.

Can someone make a viable build without Cleansing Ire and Fast hands? Warriors need a viable build that isn’t a standard x/bow build that has Cleansing ire and fast hands.

Non-warriors are welcomed to help. I want to play more builds.

Its not the best traitline, it is the most necessary traitline because of a single trait. Every other trait in the line is trash.

Warrior’s logic:
Because a trait makes us OP, it should be baseline/minor because we’ll take it 100% time because of how OP it is.

Same logic can be applied to all classes. Lead the Wind makes LB OP and mandatory to any power ranger, so it should be baseline/minor.

Lead the wind is mandatory for only power rangers. That’s okay.

If Lead the Wind is mandatory to the ‘viable’ condi, bunker, power, cele, Spirit, or whatever, then I would agree with you that it isn’t okay. Deception Evasion is in every Mesmer build, I don’t think that’s okay that it is a GM trait.

CI isn’t a trait that make us OP, you are confused and ignorant. CI is a trait that make us viable. Let me shed you some history as a warrior player since beginning of the 3 day head start.

Warriors didn’t have a place in the PvP scene. Warriors were free-kills. It wasn’t until ANet added CI that warriors started popping up because it was the trait that existed.

Switch Armored Attack with Last Stand.

Last Stand + Rousing Resilience works very well with each other. I use it on my SW leech build. I get auto-toughness + stability proc at the same time.

Plus, Armored Attack would work well with Sundering mace if I want to use a offensive defense trait build.

If the leap changes go away, then Teleports should also be affected. Mesmers, thieves, ele can ignore the condi by simply teleporting away.

Retaliation doesn’t stack intensity.

Even when you are a slower attacking player on a single target, having 25 stacks of confusion can kill you. Retaliation is only dangerous when you are doing a rapid AoE attack like whirling wrath.

Obviously you did not read threw or you would of notice in my rules for free to play that the gold sellers problem is solved.

None of your rules addresses the gold seller spam message.

Oh…. no.. your right. I mean i thought Arena already took care of that with the Block & Report. One thing I’ve notice, is how much the community contributes on reporting does spammers. ? i’m one of the first. So i don’t really see an issue.

You don’t understand the issue, not one bit.

Block and report works because Gold sellers are limited with a paywall. Without it, Gold sellers can simply make new accounts and spam every day. Blocking and reporting will do nothing because gold sellers can just make new accounts to keep the gold messages on your face.

It cost money and time keep the bot plague from being unbearable.

I haven’t heard about any complaints about Magic Carpet and Sonic Dredge tool. Players will tolerate mounts even if they said they wouldn’t.

You haven’t been looking hard enough. Also, we can’t stop Anet from pushing crap out on the gem store.

If I am forced to look really hard, then magic carpet isn’t a big issue. Mounts will never be a big issue just like magic carpet isn’t. You need to provide hundreds of threads with hundred of different people discussing magic carpet made the game very terrible if you think I am wrong. It needs to be on the same level as NPE traits.

If ANet put in mounts right now, People will learn quickly to tolerate it.

I agree. But instead, Condi gear should determine the % heal reduced. This will give condi classes the attrition role.

So, 1.32% can be increased to 5% per a stack if the player is speccing for condi.

Yes, I understand they were removing the underwater combat, but they could have removed the water…keep the ship in a dried up lake and removed cap points…Now it’s a TDM map l, rather than removing content. I don’t particularly care for the map but don’t really think removing it was the right way to go.

You’re asking for a entire redesign of the map.

The water content is about 60% of the map.

Its hard to transport teams of 8 players rather than 5 players.

Their esport yeah, each profession was supposed to be able to cover several roles …but here we are, imaginary roles forced on professions with no chance of breaking free from them.

The moment they start talking about “roles” the moment they invalidate this forced 5 man limit, if they want to keep this 5 man limit so badly then they must buff professions accordingly!

My point still stands.

Judging by ur mentality OP, go greatsword + hammer traited 00626 with zerker amulet and pack runes. This works just fine. I made a 1v1 video about it, works to an extent in group fights as long as u watch your sorroundings and have an understanding of your opponents are capable of and how the fight evolves. A decent point roamer.

Yeah… you’re literally just spamming your buttons when they’re off CD. Not exactly play anyone should idolize. Whirlwind Attack only ticking once, using Earthshaker into his shelter and aegis and actually just plain missing it once (unless you swapped to hammer to use earthshaker as a gap closer… in which case lol), using rush at point blank a second after the guardian used his invuln, dodging nothing randomly…

On the other hand, that guardian is blocking, dodging, blinding almost everything. It just shows that the build is strong.

Warrior with longbow??? I don’t get it. How can a big dude with a ton of health and a ton of CC be worthless? Do they not have tanks in this game?

And generally speaking I never follow the ‘meta’ in any game I play. I actually hate the word. But why would you play a Warrior with a longbow, that doesn’t make any sense.

Because Longbow is the only weapon set that proc cleansing Ire without requiring a hit.

Cleansing Ire is a very powerful trait because it removes 3 conditions every 7-10 seconds. Without it, you will be eating condis and die.

speaking of Panic Strike and Chill of Death

Panic Strike is just… you get below 50% HP and don’t have a instant cond cleanse? Well.. you are death. Ask some mesmer players about this trait if you want.

Now Chill of Death: I don’t mind the chill, it is powerful but does not lock you in place like immob, the problem about this is the damage. It is always combined with the close to death trait (+20% dmg against <50% HP enemys) so it hit’s like a truck. Bonus points if procced from down state.

Both of them are not avoidable and should be reworked, since it can proc on everything. Some ideas:

Panic strike: Does 1s of fear instead of 2,5s immob. Fear duration does not increase with condition duration.
Explanation: Fit’s way better with the idea of “panic” than the immobilize. Also gives some additional counterplay with stunbreaks.

Chill of death: inflicts 1s of chill on low health enemys and removes 1 boon. No longer deals dmg. 5s icd
Would be still powerful but removes the crazy dmg spikes.

I would love to see an option where I don’t target AI with tab targeting. If I want to target AI, I would manually click them myself.

Players move around a lot. AI don’t move around as much.

There is an option that will target players first, then tab target to minions, unless no players are in target range/sight.

the Next Enemy keybind does this.

Elite Weapons and Utility skills

Elite spec Weapons and Utility skills should be baseline because I would like to have more diversity.

The elite specs will still be valuable because I would want to have the F5 mesmer skill, the Reaper shroud, or the new virtues that is still in their adept minor trait. I would also want to choose the elite specs because the necro shouts traits are on that line if I bring shouts or that his movie monster build is just OP.

If I don’t bring necro shout traits, they are weaker or have long cooldown than if I bring them.

So, please make elite spec weapon and utility skill baseline for diversity sake. All I want is to use Rise! with my MM build. The other shouts, the reaper traits, and greatsword just doesn’t look good with MM builds.

Grave Digger gave me an idea.

Reworked Quickening Thirst: Life siphon will now recharge instantly if the channel is complete.

If Life Siphon isn’t interrupted, Life Siphon doesn’t go into a cooldown.

Why? I really want to see Life steal become a thing. I made interrupt a weakness to it so that Life Siphon won’t be too OP.

I don’t see the current Quickening Thirst worth bringing at all. There is still Speed of Shadow for speed boost and most necro use Traveler runes anyways.

Organize traits by theme

One thing the reaper elite spec showed me what I didn’t know what I wanted is that each trait line should be organized on the theme.

For example,

Themes

  • If you pick all bottom traits (Relentless Pursit, Decimate Defenses, and Reaper’s Onslaught), it is our movie monster themed line. It is hard to stop you, you move and attack faster.
  • Middle line is our chill based line. It helps you spread chill, deal more damage to chilled foes and make chill do damage.
  • Top line is our brawler line, it rewards you for hitting lots of enemies. Your shouts recharge faster, you get lots of siphons, and sustain.

I think ANet should rework all the specialization and organized it like that because it is cleaner and it will potentially remove useless/out-of-place traits and then give them a role.

I think I’ll pass. Even if you were offering 100g, I’d hardly ever have enough time to be able to say " I can complete this today".

You would get a small part of Arah p4. a small part of TA aetherpath and Volcanic Fractal in one run.

Dagger could go for a defensive weapon through life froce and life siphon.

Life siphon sucks though.

Could Venom Share thief be effective buffer?

I play Venomshare thief from time to time.

Its an okay build. You can’t do anything much other than find teammates and give them venoms. I drop one venom for shadow refuge for strong stealth support and escaping. Its easy to play. If you like easy builds, this is one of them. It is a poor self-sufficient build though.

IMO, Fast hands should be nerfed. Start with a 6 second cooldown to see how much effect it does to warriors. I want to see more builds without FH. Other classes works fine without FH.

I believe that ANet wanted Sword users to go to Tactics because Powerful Synergy is there.

IMO, it should merge with Opportunist. Only 3 skills immobilize. If it merged with Opportunist, then that trait will benefit a lot.

Uhm wait… didn’t they just do that 3 or so weeks ago? Except if you mean something other than the new traitsystem. Necros got 1 or 2 cool changes, the rest stayed the rubbish it was before.

Huge plate mail and…a dagger?

The stiletto was a knight’s weapon. Most knights in medieval times had a stiletto and/or a rondel. Last time I checked knights used huge plate mail armor too.

Knights in Medieval times uses Daggers as a way to cut through the weak points when the enemy is knocked down. They get on top of the enemy and then pierce through the parts where it is weak. A sword, axe, hammer has too long of a reach when you are on top of them.

If you think that knights used dagger as a offhand weapon, that would be silly. A dagger can’t cut through armor. A sword does a better job on killing unarmored foes because it has a long reach. Shield is better off as a offhand because it is a weapon and provides more protection.

Daggers can be used defensively and an offhand, but that would be silly for a full plated knight. Anything a dagger can parry, the armor is enough to protect it.

If a warrior gets dagger, it would have to be a physical utility skill that does more damage to disabled enemies. It would make sense in gameplay and immersion. Physical skills have tons of CC. For the immersion explanation… because of above explanation.

Then give Guardians something new.

What if fall damage traits has an extra functionality-

If you have less than 50% hp, use Chaos storm/Stomp/Muddy Terrian/etc.

Don’t just stick it in anywhere. Make its own trait.
