yeah gotta say sor was pretty nice and actually i had a couple of awesome duels with a few of them. sor would at least let us take stuff to get a karma train going. jq seems more like a big bully to me atm. lat time we were matched up with them during jq/fa/bg it was actually fun.

It looks like FA is cracking at the seams. They fall apart too much and we might get two new servers into gold.

we are a little beaten atm, but we got a great community. the ones that leave wont be missed as we keep on fighting. people are just a little tired atm due to constant mass blobs, spawn camping and lack of sleep. we get moments where our moral is down, but we wont let t1 destroy our server.

and there is still time to have a little fun

And from my own observations, Maguuma has Tier 1 skilled players with Tier 8 coverage. Thus is the reason why we deserve that spot, since skill is measured higher than population.

ok so ive seen maguuma in various matchups and yes u guys lack coverage. u have some pretty good players on your server. so does my server. we push zergs that outnumber us by a lot and win many times and i gotta say lower tier servers are way more about tatics that numbers. but believe me u dont wanna be in gold league. if your 30 man zerg runs into a 70 man jq zerg u might get a few wins, but a lot of times u get steamrolled.
i think u have faced a t1 server before…not sure, but the current t1 have stacked even more and do have some very skilled guilds now. but if u get up here, u will see for yourself.

my server is fighting hard and we are a little tired but we wont give in. even while sitting on 10ppt we will still try to push. so hope u guys will do the same.

i see a lot of good suggestions here. a lot of people refer to spvp 1v1 balance though and spvp is a pain for eles atm. for mesmers its somewhat ok, but the lack of aoe, stability and weakness to conditions is still an issue. as a mesmer in zvz fights daily i do feel very up atm and the update doesnt promise anything to change that issue.
my problem is
im great in spvp 1v1 and roaming, but in a zerg not viable apart from being used by warriors as their servant veil/tw, massinvis/nullfield/portal bot. this is making my gaming experiance pretty bad atm. anet nerfed glamour build into the ground of nothingness and never gave us anything viable back in that area. imo it was the only good thing that worked in wvw zergfights.

the warrior meta in wvw zergfights is a pain and like the video of counterplay stated, there is no counter play as it doesnt make sense to give a dps, tanky class with the best healing the most cc in the game. as heavy armor classes are already pretty tough, they dont need to stun an enemy to kill it. they dps it down and have their toughness and vitality to stay up in a fight. it does make sense though that they have stability.

now a light armor class does need a lot of stuns and cc as they need to be able to keep the heavy dps classes off our backs. our dmg should be coming from condis, cc, aoe and be a viable counterplay vs warrior trains.
confusion was that as it punished the 11111 spammers with massive dmg. we didnt need dps (glam build has like 900 power and 1700 condi dmg while having 1400k toughness) we had the confusion too keep the warriors on distance as when u get confusion u gotta back off a little before attacking again.
eles have a very low health pool and in spvp need some more cc to keep those warriors off their backs too. staff eles in spvp need a buff as its not viable atm, but in wvw staff eles are part of the meta due to aoe that hits like a truck and waterfields support.
thats why necros are in a good spot in spvp and wvw. they got fear and marks to keep an attacker off their back and enough condi and aoe dmg to be a big threat. aoe is the most important thing in a zerg fight, thats why mesmers are missing out atm.
people even advised everyone to roll a warrior/necro/ele or guardian. engi is ok and if played right pretty strong, but mesmers and rangers are bottom feeders.

And I can’t speak for FA (although many will express the same sentiment), but me having fun in WvW isn’t something that’s conditional on accomplishing even the slightest thing in regards to PPT or score.

honestly, i do have a strong urge to work with sos rather than against them.
today i saw a giant jq zerg running into their pangloss while a bunch of sos were trying to fend that massmob off ogre watch and i went in stealth and put a supply trap down to help sos…and because its fun to do that. sos has been spawncamped like we did.

the other day 3 of us were in so bl karmatraining camps as ther really wasnt anything else we could do. so when jq attacked sos garrison we went and put a guild cata down at hills. well 3 people managed to get into the lords room but omg it does take a while to get that lord down…XD
well in the end sos came in an capped it and we all were like… well at least jq doesent own it anymore and sos had an easy cap.
so seriously if fa attacks sos then its only because we see an opportunity to get at least a few caps, but we are busy enough on our side and we are facing the same 70 man blobs everywhere we go.

the new people have to learn about upgrades and tower defenses and siege placement. we had a guy from my old guild training people on trebs and mortars and ac’s for weeks.
a new player will always feel lost in wvw when they start.
i can remember when i got to wvw for the first time. i used to buy the wrong upgrades because i didnt know. i didnt know how to use a ram or a treb. i didnt know about builds or anything. then i got picked up by a guild and learned the ropes quite fast.

these videos could definitely encourage newbies to play more often and effectively help the server.

good to see a few rangers out there, but when we are talking about the meta its not about roaming and 1v1. mesmers do excellent in 1v1. i hate facing mesmers in a 1v1 and i main a mesmer…..the issue though is large group viability. i can take down a single warrior(on my roamin=spvp build) but the warrior trains are over the top atm. they are the new noob class and godmode in wvw.all u hear in ts is get on your warrior we are losing, cc on the right, cc there, veil, reroll warrior or get out, u are a rallly bot go warrior or guardian…..

I agree with this 100%. Being a TC player, it sucks getting crushed by T1 when we fight them (which will be most of the season). What sucks more though, is not being on even footing with FA and SoS. Get some transfers so we can have even fights!

Also, the OP mentioned he retries to queue every 15-20 mins. I don’t think that helps. If anything, it makes it worst.

also yeah requeueing is not a good idea as it can backfire and u are stuck for even longer

the problem with the balance is also that anet doesent separate gamemodes like spvp and wvw. the awarrior was always good in wvw, always important and most commanders ran it. now in spv the warrior was a mess and not viable at all. the buffs made him very very powerful in spvp due to having high stability and high cc while haveing massive healing and toughness and dps.
this has destroyed wvw class balance.

all u see is warrior/ guardian trains and then ele and necro.
mesmers are epic in 1v1 and roaming but in wvw right now u barely see any at all. reason: u nerfed our confusion which was the only multi target zerg wvw build and our retal builds into oblivion without giving us anything back in return. now im stuck as a squishy weak veilbot for the kitten warrior trains.
this is not fun and no balance at all!
or do u hate mesmers that much? ill be happy to give u all my 1v1 skills all my stupid clones and phantasms that die in 1 second in a zerg anyways, and get something back that works vs zergs!

Warrior forums are filled with awesome ideas to improve the class, meanwhile other forums are filled with whining, and its bleeding into our class Area.

Warriors never went on other forums and QQed and asked for nerfs to other classes, WE wanted improvements to ours.

actually they did. in mass to nerf confusion as confusion was actually strong vs spamming.
the problem i have with warriors is not in roaming or 1v1 spvp. i have a problem with the current godmode warriors in wvw. all u see is warriors and if u dont have a group with a lot of warriors u will be crushed. a group of mesmers vs a group of warriors is gonna be a guaranteed win for the warrior train.

Mesmer is a great dueling class that can handle multiple enemies pretty well, and is quite useful in zergs as well, including stealthy missions like portals and veils. Compared to thieves or warriors, to roam with a mesmer and outplay opponents it does take a lot of practice. I couldn’t dare tackle more than 1 enemy with my mesmer until I was at around 100 tPvP matches with her.

tpvp is not wvw at all. try to face a group of warriors/guardians with a group of mesmers. its not gonna end good for mesmers. u will be stunlocked to death and can deal enough dmg to get past the ridiculous regen a warrior has. in a 1v1 its different. i have a different build for roaming and there it is the warrior that has a hard time, but in a zerg id say u can only stand at the backline and be a veil/portal bot for the godlike warriors

you are on jq and your server has gotten a lot of transfers. probably thats why u are stuck in queue for so long.

agree with u very much on this. most of our gvg guilds contribute a ton of ppt every day. i dont even know when they have a gvg, because right after they are back on the field defending and capping. people that are against gvg seem to just not get the point of certain guilds that keep running into each other on the field, might wanna have a gvg.

my guild had multiple guilds we kept running into and had a lot of requests for a gvg after. but my guild doesnet do gvg.
so u know lets say this one guild runs into yours over and over and u smashed them quite some times. well maybe u surprised them or u had an advantage. then that guild wants a gvg where u dont have a tower to run back into and no surprise flank from nowhere.
so yeah there u can see different pushtactics and all that. it is also good to learn new tactics u can use out on the field. i really dont see why people hat gvg so much.

woah yesterday there were a lot of anet tags running around. anyone else noticed that? the jq anet guy kept ganking people like a boss and our fa anet guy joined us in our 40 omega golem rush and helped us to get our bl back.

maybe anet asked them to play with their tag to prove that not all of their employees lose their temper like that. it is good to hear though that anet is not against gvg…now lets hope its not gonna take them another year for a big update. please anet improve guild content!

t1 has stacked too much. its because they all wanna fight it out in t1 atm. so why not lock them into 1 league. seriously anet u are forcing us to get smashed 7 weeks in a row. u think thats fun? no its not fun at all its absolut bullkitten!

well something has to be done as right now rank 5 and rank6 server will face the worst leagues ever. why cant we just have it so if u are being destroyed in 1 league u will move down to the second league and the ones winning league 2 move up to league 1 or something.
rank5 and rank6 will be stuck in those horrible blowout matches for weeks and that is not fun for us at all.
this for the whole league is really gonna happen as anet separated t2 and t1 . now rank 5 and 6 suffer vs the horribly stacked t1 servers.

The T2 servers are the worst place to be of the 24 servers. You will never fight anything but T2 and T1 servers and you are guaranteed to fight all three T1 servers (currently TC has close to T1 numbers so every week for 7 weeks you will more thank likely be crushed). There is no incentive to transfer to a T2 server unless you like getting your kitten kicked. T1 should be it’s own tier, never has any server below T1 come close to not being a blow out since the new matchmaking system was implemented.

If players want to fight T1 servers, let them transfer to T1 servers. No-one else has the numbers to reasonably compete.

The new league system is better for most servers but it’s a disaster for T2 servers. Population imbalances are a monster of a problem in WvW and nothing has been done to address it. The new league system is going to guarantee is a significant problem beating down on a handful of unlucky servers.

Match variation doesn’t matter anywhere near as much as some semblance of match balance. I know that WvW by design is imbalanced and I know that Devon wants match variety but T2 servers don’t want T1 variety. To make an extreme example, putting the 24th ranked server against the 1st ranked server is technically variety. It’s not a good match.

T1 needs to be locked off in it’s own league.

yes please anet make this happen u are destroying 2 servers at least. can we please have to option to not be part of the league then? can we decline. i dont wanna be part of a league where we are getting smashed for 7 weeks straight. a lot of people are already not logging in anymore because of this.

well for all the ones that think gvg is hurting wvw, because of spots taken and stuff.

most of the gvg i know of (and im in t2) are either held at the end of a matchup, before reset and during times when a matchup is already decided and not much going on. if we are still fighting for garrison, those guilds are helping and part of the defense.
gvg never happen on reset night and i have not seen one during the first few days of the matcups. so our queues are not influenced by this.

I think the people suggesting that we just ignore the ppt in these blowouts are missing the problem entirely. I don’t give a kitten about the score, however the score conveys a lot of information. For example, if I log in and see that my server is getting blownout out in ppt by 300% I don’t even bother trying to WvW and just log back out. Not because I care about ppt per se, but because such a blowout indicates the types of fights I will be seeing. In the above example I can be sure that I’ll rarely find a fight where we aren’t outnumbered by a 2-1 margin. That type of fight isn’t fun. The game at that point simply isn’t entertaining.

And being on the other side of the equation isn’t any better. When we are the server blowing out the competition we get all the fair weathers coming out of the woodwork. Consequently what might start out as a fairly even fight usually ends when our zerg comes rolling in squash the enemy.

Either way, these blowout matches aren’t fun. The ppt is not a problem, merely a symptom.

allow us to have an alliance server so we can at least compete without having to get transfers.

i like fa’s community. we all work great together and dont wanna have to turn into a mass blob server just because we are consistently forced to play vs t1(and tc…). also make defending keeps a little easier.

improve safety on walls(ele/necros can reach almost everything up there)
improve the keeps so a massblob for example has to run through a few chokepoints where traps (like eb jp traps) can be placed that could actually destroy a zerg. rightnow we cant even upgrade as whenever we manage to take a keep back. 5 min later a 70man blob pvd’s right back in and there is no way to stop them even with 4 ac’kittenting them.

this wont happen to a t1 server. before jq got the mass transfers, we actually had fun matchups with them. now its just another sor giant. sor/bg/jq have received soo many transfers over the last few weeks that right now noone can even have fun when facing them.
please anet make t1 a league ore allow alliances. but 7 weeks like this is gonna kill all t2 servers and after that slowly every other server out there

yeah but u get to fight some servers u can actually beat. all we will see is t1 in every matchup. t1… how can u have fun when u sit on 60 ppt and u will try to take a tower and the 70 man zerg keeps running over u? u cant havoc u cant take no nothing. there is always 70 people ther always day and night 24/7. every matchup will have a t1 server for us.

yeah but now anet destroyed 7 kitten weeks for us. no fun. u know facing a t1 server once in a while can be a challenge but those servers are soo stacked that they can fill every bl with 70 manmass blobs. i can siege up garrison all i want . that blob is in within 30 seconds then second gate another 30 seconds, than boom done, the rest of the bl will dissapear within 10 min max.
we never wanted to fight t1 never ever, as our guilds like good fights. no we are stuck with this and its terrible. we cant even beat tc at all.

fa is my home since the start and we went through a ton of matchups being the underdog, but at least we could put up a fight. fighting a t1 server(and the new stacked tc) is u vs 70 man blobs pvdooring everything. they just steamroll everything. seriously it should be server 1-4 goldleague or give fa the chance to all transfer to a new server so we can at least play.

7 weeks with t1 servers. no. that means 7 weeks for us sitting on 60 ppt every night. great. and jq/bg/ sor keep getting more and more guilds.

Ahm, ok so i checked the vid and i can see the amount of insulting – coming from the players – starting with “just let the kittenes in the middle die” and continuing by calling him a kitten and telling him to play somewhere else.
Once again – you were insulting him because he wasn’t playing the game based on your rules.

Look, it’s really simple. There’s no other reason to be there behind the windmill EXCEPT to GvG, watch the GvG, or troll the GvG. He wasn’t there to GvG. He could have been there to watch the GvG. But no, if he came to troll the GvG then he’s going to be treated as a troll. Treating a troll as a troll is not disrespect. The fact that he also popped the Anet tag to represent the company while being a kitten is what takes it to a whole new level.

There is lot’s of reasons to be behind windmill. Farming mats and skill points, sneak patch to enemies supply camp. XD

this very much. on my server guilds fight during the entire week, but towards the end there is a few gvg happening and i think its a great addition in wvw. btw that gvg happened 1 hour before reset.

also the dev knew that this was a gvg area, why did he go there and why did he stand in the middle of it? people asked him t leave and he didnt move. so that that looks to me like trolling. who cares about other people doing gvg. why even try to ban it? all the guilds i know that do gvg are top guilds from our server, guilds that play a lot and help our bl’s and eb a lot. so they have a 15-30 min gvg so what? why go there to interfere?

The problem is people in GvG BELIEVE to be the only skilled people who know game mechanisms and playstyle. Always made me laugh hard and I always troll on battlefield these said GvG guilds when they get kitten hard. These GvG players achieve nothing and don’t play anyway better than guilds involved in WvW: basicly GvG is a more simple mode for newbies.

dude your complains about gvg dont really fit here at all.none in here has stated we are the more skilled players. our guilds take many many objectives every day. wedefend, we ninja we upgrade we cap stuff, we push zergs of the towers. we did not claim to be better than u guys ever. gvg is not a non stop thing at all. they have a few matches like that a week, so what?
my guild doesnt gvg as we are a small guild and also we focus on other things, but we do not judge the gvg zone. there is a zone where everyone goes to and is not interfering with anyone else. im also not complaining abut roamers that just run araound and gank stuff.

spvp is not gvg at all.different balance, different builds, smaller areas, stupid circles, different armor etc

The rule is kind of unclear. What constitutes “authorized personnel”? So any ANet employee can whip out his giant “I’m special” guild tag and start ordering people around?

He was justified in whipping it out when he was being slagged for just standing there.

For some reason, folks seem to think that having an anet tag (or just being a random player) is an excuse for them to be treated like kitten, and that they should just take it because they are employees. I’m glad he spoke up, regardless of the underlying incident, because folks were acting like entitled brats.

Hopefully this won’t derail any progress toward GvG, because using this as a reason to kitten about it IMO is lousy, and showing them support just shows support for the toxic behavior that’s become rampant in certain parts of the community these last few months expecially.

If there was no queue, then there is no reason for him to complain.
