here is how the issue starts.
a low tier server who is always the underdog, get a guild that moved down from t2 because their server has same issue. so now your server is getting a big big boost and u are winning all the time….
yay u move a tier up and then u face 2 servers that are still way stronger than u. now u get challanged very hard for weeeks until u receive another transfer. then u are even, but because u are even with the server that used to beat u, that server gets discouraged and either falls appart or gets new transfers….and this goes all the way up to t2 until the low tiers are very very low and the high tiers including tier 3 will be incredibly stacked….
ang guess who sets the bar? the top tiers. t2 servers are not strong enough for t1 so they will look for transfers. tc has gotten a lot of transfers and is slowly moving into t1…which will push another t1 server down…..and the remaining t2 servers will be smashed by them until this t1 server either gets a ton of transfers to move back up or falls apart..
and it keeps going and going…
that’s the point, we want the ‘real talent’ to stop hiding behind their groupies.
its been a while and the lower servers had a lot of training from your bloatedness.we have one major advantage you don’t, the courage to face hard odds, and we are all level 80 now.

and u think we had no training at all? u think all the guilds just blob and thats it?on my server for example we face a lot of groups and zergs twice our numbers. sometimes we wipe, but we also crushed some serious numbers. we got trashed by tc for weeks, because we didnt have the coverage. u think we dont have t courage to face hard odds?! we have all faced the odds at some point. even tc that is dominating t2 atm is facing the ods in t1 atm.

Anet needs to stop rewarding treason, and t1 and t2 needs to stop thinking they have skills ….they are fat …nothing more. bloated servers are full of traitors and groupies, players who ran from their servers because they didn’t have the skill or the courage to face difficult challenges.
ok first off, u dont know much about what is going on in t1 and t2, do u?
u just judge everyone without knowing anything at all.
fa(my server) for example got to t2 and got smashed for weeks. we lost a lot of guilds to t1 , but we got amazing guilds that joined us and brought us all together… every server has a history and skilled players.
yes t1 is crazy stacked and has queues almost all the time, but telling everyone that we are fat and have no skill….hmm maybe one or 2 guilds should move down to your opposing server and teach u how unskilled we all are. and after a 13 man group took your entire borderland u will cry that we are all cheating right?
btw there is technically 4 t1 servers. tc is a t1 server too as they overpowere the other t2 servers by a lot. u think u got problems? check out the matchups fa had for the past few weeks.
we are too trong for t3 and too week for the other servers up here.

I hate the buffs, but I feel exactly the opposite of the op.
zeroing the ruins is a complete waste of time unless you have full map cap ( in which case the roamers should be working on the camps ) and small organized groups of 5-10 rule that area.
Yes, it’s rough on solo roamers, but WvW was never meant to be solo-able.
yup agree with u wvw is meant to be more of a team based gametype, which doesnt mean u cant roam or do some things solo. if u wanna solo spvp is most likely more what fits u. roamers are part of wvw though.
i hate the buffs. had a duel with a warrior eventhough he had a 3 orb buff and it was fun, but i ended up losing due to the buff.
that’s not fair either – they don’t like fighting the same bloated servers over and over – There are a few groups of people that don’t need a ton of zergs to win – they are the ones that constantly bring all these servers to number one …and thats honorable – whats NOT honorable is when everyone flocks to say they are a part of them and turn those guys strategy into this massive ball of meat.
We have some pretty mean pvp strategists in the mid tiers that would have fun fights vs these guys – we will never see those fights if they are covered in fat. It’s not justice to them, and its not justice to pvp’rs who would rather face the odds than join a bloated server to play hard.
This is pretty true. Just look at the current TC/JQ/BG thread in matchups. We’re all having a frekkin’ blast!
Same thing when TC had just move up into T2 from T3… those were some of the best weeks I’ve ever had in WvW. Sure we didn’t get record breaking numbers or anything, but it was fun for everyone to have a new challenge and learn how to fight against the different tactics that each server was using (as well as learn from each other). We still have a solid friendship with BG from back then and have fun when we face them. I would be sad if we never got to pair up against them again
actually i had a blast vs bg/jq aswell. they were very nice….sor though is like woah!!!!!! they got insane numbers……the thing is 1 t2 vs 2 t1 servers is better as the 2 t1 serer will fight eachother too,but a t1 server vs 2 t2 servers…not so much.
Depends on the T1 server and the other servers you’re paired with in T2.
For example… BG doesn’t always just blob up (causes massive lag) and avoid even/outnumbered fights to try to get the most PPT (boring as all kitten).

honestly t1 servers should never ever be matched up with anything alese than t1. they should be a league by them self. im on fa and facig sor (geez ty anet) this week and we really really worked hard, but sitting on 40 ppt atm. is this fun for 7 days?no! t1 is soo stacked that it should get its own ranking and own matchup.
no other tier ever wants to face 70 man zergs 24/7. and the 3 bloodlust make that zerg even more unbeatable….

people stack becouse of the AOE cap, 30 people attack 5 people they will hit all of em… 5 people attack the 30 people the only hit 5.
by raising the cap or just eliminating it, the stupid warrior hammer drone/mindless train will become something that require to use at least a braincell.Good luck aoeing anything if they remove the aoe cap, because the servers will lag so much you will only be able to press 1.
this and do honsetly believe the aoe cap is gonna make zergs go like:oh cool now we are gonna split up?
nah then that 60 man zerg will have no aoe limit and wipe 15 people in less than a seconds

The terrain is good? No it isn’t…its a huge problem. Limits escape routes. Allows a zerg to hide within.Horrible post….next time start out with a valid point instead of some kissing.
i gotta say, i disagree with u on this one. the terrain is great as even if there is a zerg there, u can kite them way better than in flat boring wide terrain. a zerg wants to stay together in a massive ball. if everyone has to jump and run through narrow passages and obstructed areas, the will scatter a little more due to not everyone taking the same path.
my guild destroyed zergs of 30+ with out 13 people because of chokepoints. your smaller group has an advantage if u know how to kite a zerg.
but i dont think a lot of zergs will go there or stay there for long.they’ll go cap bloodlust and leave a few scouts back.
the are is just too disconnected from the rest of wvw so the zergs actually go around it. they go for bay and hills and then will go towards garrison but avoid the watergate.

Necros are in a good place right now. Are they OP? Probably not. They have their weakness, but….
I am a little perplexed about an issue I am having with a number of them at the moment where they are killing me in a matter of ~1-2 seconds. I don’t know if its a bug or what but I just don’t see anything in the combat log that even nearly equates to the damage required to get me to half health, let alone kill me.
No idea what that is but i get something similar when hammer warriors get involved.
A sudden spike hit that gets 15k out of my hp and downs me.
Considering i have a full zerker warrior with hammer as well,i consider it to be some short of glitch which some are constantly reproducing and it doesnt get logged in the combat log (and i know very well i didnt get hit by a boosted killshot).
Seen it happen when faceing enemy necro as well but that was once,and it wasnt reproduced in the next fight with them.
Yours is the only other mention to such case i have seen.

sory but i gotta say there is 2 types of necros, the ones that have been played since the start and the meta hunters. the meta hunters are no threat at all, butthe original players can easily destroy 4 people at the same time. very often i get nuked y tem in seconds with a a mass condition bomb.
also the mass fear is a problem. the need a little tone down, but so do warriors.
Perplexity runes need an ICD on the 6/6 bonus, and the condi duration needs to be decreased. It doesn’t matter whether or not my opponents bring condi removal because I can stack confusion on them faster than they can remove. As long as they’re attacking me (even autoattacks), there’s something for me to interrupt and drop another stack of long-lasting confusion. Heck, they stack confusion even when they attack me, due to the 4/6 bonus. What the runeset actually does is boost my survivability by a ton, because my opponent needs to slow his attacks down a lot to avoid having one of his skills interrupted.
It’s easy to think you’re outplaying your opponent because you’re interrupting his skills, but the fact of the matter is that interrupting is stupidly easy to do, since even autoattacks can be interrupted.
the duration of 6/6 is too much that is right. 5 stack for15 seconds per interrupt….. no glam mesmer was ever able to stack something lieke that ever. ourkitten grandmaster traits for confusion last 5 sec…the rest about the rune is ok, butt 6/6 is what is giving u 25 stacks from an engi.

well in Fa we invited everyone on the map to our wvw ts where we made a tequilla channel. 100 people were online ther and we had a ton of fun and our wvw commanders even joined in and helped. yeah we got him down very very low …but failed, but no cussing out no nothing. we were dissapointed, but we had fun on ts…so instead of raging at people and calling everyone a noob, join the team and work as a team.
actuallly if u look closely at the ruins..that would make an epic castle with an epic arena attached to it. woah a castle with multiple floors and a lot of narrow passages where u could place traps like in eb jp. and then turn the arena ruin into an actual ruin…..wow that would be epic.
epic castle that is hard to take plus a gvg arena!
oh and btw i heard they moved the keeplord to the bottom, because people would kill him by arrowcart through the floor….well they dont the just fix the floor then?
yeah fa bl normally gets steamrolled with attacks during oceanics.yesterday our map was empty and the only time an attack happened it was like 15 people…. and our ts was almost empty…..this is concerning
Too many people want to complain and offer little or no solutions.
I have a solution…all the complainers should go off and design the MMO they want and let the rest of us enjoy a well designed and enjoyable MMO while we wait for your epic one to roll out.
Or maybe you should pay attention. Many forum users predicted what would happen BEFORE it went live. They were right. It wasn’t too hard to know that bloodlust would impact balance.
Forum users also made plenty of bloodlust suggestions. Try doing a search before writing a post.
yeah a lot of people here have predicted the mess we are in right now. people that play wvw every day for hours and are used to siegeing, zvz and defending keeps, know what things can be exploited and how things can be bad for wvw.
we all warned anet about bloodlust. the new terrain looks very pretty, but it feels very disconnected form wvw. its like a big spvp map in the middle of the map. we would have welcomed some sort of arena for gvg way more than this.
there are so many awesome suggestions in this forum and also warnings about leagues for example, but anet seems to ignore it and still goes through with it.
same with balancing classes. we need a wvw balance, but now that anet is turning the maps into a big spvp field, they wont have to balance differently anymore.
anet:please listen to us. we play this gamemode way more than u do and just looking at numbers is not gonna help u. u gotta fix the server population before u can move forward to the leagues.
alliances, improve outmanned buff, improve keeps before introducing more siege masteries. ad gvg areas, give guilds a way to build something to protect keeps, introduce traps and new terrain around towers an keeps that slow down zergs….etc
there is soo much out there anet. check the forums again and just try to implement some of the suggestions. if u are not sure, make a test server for us. test servers are pretty good so devs and players can work closer together and find solutions together. stop shutting us out, work with us.
t1 is very far apart form all the other tiers. tc is the strongest t2 server, but even they got terribly destroyed vs sor.
im on fa and we are too strong for a t3 matchup but to weak vs tc. look at our match up atm.
the gaps between tiers is huge…1 week in t1 was enough for us…it is frustrating to be trashed by 60-70 man blobs almost all day long.
alliances could be the only way out.
alliances should be formed according to matchup,numbers and coverage.
for example fa was facing tc and db this week. db an fa both arent strong enough to beat tc that had a lot of transfers. fa would need an alliance of a lower tier server with a little more oceanics and sea guilds to compete. db would need a stronger na/oceanic alliance.

He used to be at the top, but could be killed with a treb there. So they moved him down. That’s also when SMC became 35 instead of 50 ppt.

That’s literally the only advantage GW2 has over the competition right now. WoW has better PvE content. SWTOR has a better story. DOTA/LoL have better small-scale PvP. There’s no analogue readily available for large-scale group combat in the current market, so unfortunately you’re stuck for now, but there are more than a few promising options coming up.

no more pvdooring, more trying to actually get the keep step by step. give 10 people a chance to defend. and yes for havoc teams it will be way harder to ninja something, but it would make it way more fun.
also for attacker how about underground tunnels to bypass one part of a big keep…just stuff like this would make wvw an epic experience.
btw: place the keep lord of smc on the top of the castle not the bottom…it makes like no sense to have him waiting on the groundfloor where as the actual throne room looks like its the one on the top floor…
erm i like the idea. it wouldnt even affect u guys in pve if u are not in one of those guilds.
its only the 2 guilds that can attack eachother if they want to. if u are pve only and your guild is at war, dont represent until war is over…would also make sense from an rp perspective…. also why would a duel ruin your adventure? the world map is giant and also u would not be hit by them anyways.
its guild wars after all and this would be more like a guild mission.
main cities have to be neutral ground though. even ro had a dueling options on some servers and that game is as pve as it gets and people liked it.

-server alliances would help with the leagues it would also make the leagues unique. alliances are formed according to players and coverage on each server. so if it was like sor/tc/fa matchup…tc needs help(t2 server/t3 server) and fa needs a loot of help(jq or db). sor would not get an alliance.
-improve the loot please! all im getting atm is whites and blues with a couple of greens. im losing so much gold with all the siege i have to buy and all the upgrades and repairs.
also could we get some t6 mats and t6 nodes on these lvl80maps? and please not in the jp only?
could we get help with the ascended crafting…maybe buy stuff with badges instead of laurels.

please make one big balance patch for wvw only and please based on a gvg situation and not a 1v1 situation. some classes are stuck atm: mesmers:portal/veil/support, rangers….ermmm no role(maybe thief detector after october patch), thief: ganker, camps, roaming, killing dolys, tagging gates…in a zerg….melt to death(also stuck because of spvp 1v1)
-fix exploits. some people are still able to portal inside the inner bay gate.ac range behind the gate area.
-make walls a little safer as zergs can nuke everything on the walls and make an omega golemrush for example pretty hard to defend.

Tried the new changes for two days. Still don’t like the buff. After playing in the ruins I have to say that I am not sure if I like the mechanic of the cap points. I like spvp as is, but I am not sure if the same mechanic works in wvw. It makes those parts very disjointed from the rest of the map. Was capping the buffs, but not taking camps or scouting, so it felt separated from the rest of the wvw feel. I think to me it feels very much like hotjoin and not like tpvp at all. Or roaming.
I don’t think that the buff is the big problem atm. Its terrible but not as big of a deal as simply the imbalance in server pop and coverage. No mechanic will work until they either fix the pop/coverage imbalance or adjust their matchmaking.
Considering the attitude of the wvw dev I doubt it will happen, so rather than staying very negative about it I think I will just take a break from wvw.
very much agree with u . i love the design and the ruins look great. finally some interesting terrain. i wish the terrain was more like that around keeps and castles , so zergs would be slowed down a little and some choke points would give us advantage as defenders.
but this middle part feels a little disconnected from the rest of wvw. it feel s like im entering a new spvp map when i see the cap points. i even swap builds before going down there and then im stuck with it when i have to go defend a keep.
people also seem to pay less attention to swords on the map.
i wish they would have started with reworking the actual map and the keeps. also instead of the bloodlust cap points a nice gvg area would have made a lot of guilds out there happy.
lag seemed better for me today and ty anet for removing the bl icon flickering. it was giving me a headache! lag spikes are still there though during bigger encounters.
its worrying me that on our server tonight was like no one online and the other servers same thing…we are in t2 and oceanics was dead…i mean we managed to upgrade bay o.0 ….i mean with wp…and hills almost too…..still waiting on the usual 30-45 man zergs to steamroll everything…..o.0….also a few guilds didnt log onto wvw atm…

yeah its kinda sad that my lvl 30 guardian survives longer in a zerg than my lvl 80 full exotic(ascended trinkets) mesmer. a lot of mesmers i know switched either to warrior or necro because they wanna fight, tag and move away from veil/portal botting.
Why would you think you should be able to take a keep with 10 people before the enemy can react? Objectives already flip way too often. Musical Keeps ftl.
actually my guild does that all the time. we take even keeps like that, because the other server is too busy running with a giant 60man zerg in our bl, so we go to the undefended stuff.
its all about tactics, but yeah sometimes they will send their zerg to kill u and then u move on.
ok how to find the real mesmer:
1.clones dont dodge
2. if its a gs mesmer, clones doesnt throw the sword at u
3.clones dont walk backwards
4. new clones that pop up run straitght towards u
5. clones only use autoattack.

Basically you’re complaining because right now you can do what you want ( If you want to play sieges, there are many towers and keep, if you want to roam, there is the central part of the map), in other words you’re just whining because you want to ‘more of the same’.
erm nope nope and nope again i made this thread becaus ethere is a ton of people that rage quit after the patch one of our big guilds didnt even log on today. also if u check the forums the majority of people are not happy with the patch.
if u would have read the post right. i actually stated that raging is not the solution and also that i like that they added new terrain. so stop pulling out sentences and vent on them.
it is great fro roamers to have something to focus on apart from camps and dolys, but for a lot of us who like gvg and duels its not fun because of the buff. also we do need new keeps new structures as its starting to get old.
i am not against everything that came with the patch. new graphics new terrain that is nicely designed.
its a step, but we need a lot of other things too.
now the roamers have their playground, how about we get ours?

Give it a rest. Try fighting players without a 15+ beside you. Your adrenaline should go up as a human being more than taking some wooden door down…
dud u realize that this thread is not about u roamers at all right? this threat is about what people that are upset with the patch actually wanted. roamers are a pretty small part of wvw. havoc teams are more popular and yes we like big open fights too.
u are a roamer then go roam. but your comment has nothing to do in this thread.
you have your keeps and we roamers have our playground now. dont see the problem at all.
well considering that wvw is not a roaming based game. the keeps have to be improved. the structures are way to easy to get into. they have not been improved at all. a new castle instead of the playground would have been way better accepted in our community.
roaming once in a while can be fun for a lot of us, but the majority in here likes gvg and zvz battles.
we want epic battles and sieging, not a 1 thief ganking a person that is running supply kinda style.
now that the patch is out. people do clearly disapprove.
reasons: the map change feels like a bigger version of an spvp area and many of us are not that much into spvp. we like siege and keeps and everything that an rvr is:taking keeps,castles, towers and build defenses.
now i like the look of the ruins. beautifully designed and looks like they did put effort into this, but the whole standing in a circle thing and not getting reward for it, is not really working for me.
it feels like a playground for roamers. also the stats u get from bloodlust is way over the top. imagine a zerg of 60 at your keep with 3 bloodlust, then the ram mastery, and the guard leeching and applied fortitude,. the outmanned server is doomed in this case.
i think anet struggles with figuring out how to change wvw. the ruins are a roaming paradise and i gotta be honest, i had some fun roaming today, but this is not really what i wanna do all the time. this element is a new addition, but we want more rvr additions now.(and the bloodlust stats have to go!!)
so lets tell anet (again)what we do like about a wvw type of game. not just raging. raging isnt gonna change anything. but we gotta make clear to them what we really want and how it could be implemented!
what i would like:
new keeps/castles/towers: the way certain points in the ruins are, i like how we can defend, because the enemy has to run up through narrow stairs. keeps should have a lot of such places, so the enemy cant just open outer and the 2 steps later they are on the inner.
walls should be safer, so u can at least use some siege to defend it if a megablob hits.
additional upgrades for keeps.
underground tunnels that have to be built or something like that.
guild halls or even guild keeps or towers, which would require a larger map
an arena for gvg would have been better than the ruins or even a separate gvg map.
the reason why people are looking forward to games like cu is also that u can build your own guild keep, tower or guild hall.
u want gw2 to be a living breathing world, so should wvw be growing. leave the main keeps as they are, but allow guilds to install structures that can protect those keeps. what if u could build a watch tower with our guild or something that the enemy has to take down first before they reach garrison.
to slow a zerg down the maps need to have areas that arent so easy to reach. an outmanned server need time to put down siege and start defending.
what about server alliances i would love to help some lower tiers out if they get hit with a really bad matchup.
bigger maps, less pve and spvp elements.
more use for badges
also balance wvw and spvp separately
now anet, if u could please look at what people want. we didnt ask for leagues as we already know that its not gonna end well and we didnt ask for bloodlust. could u please at least try to implement some of these suggestions. some people here have some very epic ideas.
aslo its called guildwars, more guild wvw based stuff please.
