it’s nice and all to add a better DX version but with 500×500 textures (with a 3 or more stretched scale) it’s not gonna make the game look better all of a sudden, they first need to make an ultra option for textures (1K or 2K textures) before they even think of adding better DX versions.
after both feature packs one thing that annoys me the most are the blinking icons with levels and renown hearts, most of the level ones don’t really have anything to say and the renown heart screen is there for no reason at all other then showing that you completed a heart.
i say get rid of this annoyance, make them both on auto pilot so you don’t have to deal with annoying blinking icons.
renown hearts never had to be changed anyway, keep them like they were before the chance.
i know levels now give a reward but more more often then not the reward is ether completely useless or you already have something much better, let alone the fact that most can’t be sold or salvaged so they end up being destroyed anyway.
what i think they should do is reward players with a level token, a vendor in every major city sells stuff for your level and improves the higher your level becomes.
that way you can level without an annoying blinking icon but still get a reward you have a use for, they can always make the reward account bound to prevent the whole “free gold” issue.
have a good day
my question isn’t what are they changing anymore because they already have this set in stone, my question now is WHEN do we get the info.
it’s bin long enough, the wait is not fun anymore, at least show something.
a time frame about when they are planning to talking about systems would be a start, even if it’s a global “this X month” it’s still better then total silence.
what ppl start to forget is that we know little to nothing about the new system yet i see so many complains already, i know Anet isn’t known to learn from past mistakes since 2 years ago (when they got arrogant) but complaining about something unknown is like talking to a wall.
i am not big on defending Anet since that time but come on, at least let them release info before complaining.
oh no, let them crash, the joy of ppl whining about a price drop is like music through my ears.
the only ones who worry about a price drop are the ones who want to sell them, the ones who want to buy them are only seeing this as good news.
heh, my problem with this is more that i fear the precursors we can unlock are more based on new weapons then the old ones, i never had any interest in legendaries but with the necro being able to wield a GS twilight looks really interesting all of a sudden.
then again, i can barely pay for 1 piece of T3 cultural armor…….
but but….the trinity is already in GW2……
warrior, ele, guardian……
one advice i really have to give, when you ever think of replacing your CPU, NEVER do it with your bare hands.
always have non-static gloves on, one spark can ruin your CPU chip and that’s gonna cost you.
oh and stay away from asus, i know some are blindly in love with asus but it’s horrible.
they custom make their own drivers making the official drivers for video cards non-compatible and the quality is below average, till this day everything asus i owned has always gone straight to the “useless” bin and replaced with ether XFX or MSI.
better then nothing, i normally don’t just jump to conclusions till they have more info and i really hope the first thing they do is show this change first so we have something to look out for.
first look at this:
http://i.imgur.com/hblHbGt.jpg
now you can complain about a small map………
if they keep the unlock crap then they should at least make the account bound in a global sense, every trait unlocked according to roman nr + which row in attributes/per tier.
that way, every player who has already fully unlocked the traits ones has them all on every character, veteran players don’t have to fear because the grandfathered characters will do the unlocking for us.
far siverpeak is a nice server tho, it’s filled with helpful players and for what i can see, they win quite often in WvW.
so in short, report said email sender as scammer and that person can say goodbye to his/her account.
At this point I think the Revenant is also a Monk/Necromancer/Elementalist/Ranger/Warrior/Ritualist/Paragon/Assassin -_-
Comparing GW1 and GW2 classes…
Monks = every class
Necro = Necro
Ele = Ele
Ranger = Ranger
Mesmer = Mesmer
Warrior = Warrior
Ritualist = Engineer
Paragon = Guardian
Assassin = Thiefand now, the only one that was missing…
Dervish = Revenant
the guardian is a mixture of warrior and monk, the paragon has nothing to do with that.
engineer was never really done right to “replace” the ritualist, so you could say that this profession is on it’s own.
the revanant is most definitely ether an assassin/ritualist or something entirly new/
GW2 beta was in april with several stress tests every 2-3 weeks, i don’t think an expansion needs that long to test tho…..
if we’re talking about literally any hairstyle as long as it’s natural, i would like to see more nordic hairstyle like the vikings used to wear.

if <$10 yes, otherwise no tnx.
No Tengu no money for u!Do you really think something with that much content will be that low? I mean sure it isn’t a huge expansion from what has been revealed so far, but the fact that there introducing a new class all together it wont go for that cheap.
look here:
http://store.guildwars.com/store/gw/en_IE/cat/categoryID.67871700/currency.EUR/ccRef.
this is the store with FULL games and they have more content then HoT would ever have, you really think an expansion can be more expensive just because of a new profession, and just one to make things worse.
it’s not “with that much content” but instead “with that little content”.
sure, it’s worth more then $10 but 20-30 is really the max i would pay for it.
If you’re struggling so much financially in life that you cant set aside $40 or so between now and release, you really shouldn’t be spending all your time online gaming to begin with. If you’re sitting here telling me you’re gonna have to choose between the expansion or a weeks worth of food, how are you affording internet access? I’m not trying to be a kitten, just pointing out clear priority issues. I mean if you can’t afford a dollar a day (assuming the game was coming out in 40 days, probably much longer) you have bigger issues then an mmo expansion.
Unless I’ve missed something no one’s said they’d have to skip buying food or other essentials to afford this.
But it wouldn’t surprise me if for many people it’s a choice between buying HoT and buying other non-essential things. For example going to see a movie that month, or buying another game.
So if you had to buy HoT to keep playing GW2 people might choose to prioritise that over other things, whereas if you can keep playing and get it later they could wait.
and what about a choice of a one-time yearly event or the expansion?
don’t judge someone’s personal situation without knowing the details, it just comes of as being self centered.
maybe they are the guardians of the forgotten, remember the empty shells in the crystal desert
Of course I will buy it. I don’t understand people who think 30$+ for an expansion is expensive. WoW:WoD is 44.95$ and that game has a freaking sub fee on top.
EotN was €30,-, for an expansion that has more then HoT yes, i find that really expensive.
Tell me what’ll be in HoT. You seem confident about your info.
with what they showed it has less, just look at what EotN has and compare that to what we know about HoT.
also, the €30,- is enough for an expansion, i really don’t care about any norm, expansions are worth this and no more.

maybe, i first need more info and the hype train isn’t gonna do any good right now.
for now the expansion is a bigger version of the LS, nothing else and only actual info can say otherwise.
the least they could’ve done is grandfather the whole account instead of just the characters, would’ve saved us at least 40 paged off this thread.
i first need enough info about the profession and the trait system needs to be fixed, until then it’s a no go anyway.
most enemies in GW2 don’t look like the GW1 variant……
all i am doing is waiting till there is a list of things they are planning in HoT, i really can’t care less about PAX or their stream.
i judge when i can read all about it, before that it’s nothing more then hyped up crap.
I’m for raising level , why ? simply , because you are all boring when you cry for your lvl 80 , almost three years playing and we ’re more boring because the game does not progress , only progress in cosmetics , veteran players need progress in levels and new weapons levels , new equipment and new lvl 80+ maps , and if you dont like levels? dont level up, take all your cosmetic items and shut up. I have LEGENDARY AND ascended GEAR so what , should i use it 2 years more? I dont care i need progress, i dont need achivement points
you are clearly not a guild wars player, any GW veteran can tell you that increasing the lvl cap is not needed at all to add interesting content.
i DO want to hear from them about a change, i DON’T want them to talk about it again.
every single post from a dev in this thread it’s always “we have brought it up” this and “we have talked about it” that.
i can talk about it just as much, that doesn’t mean something is happening
stop talking about it and actually do something, i really don’t want to hear anything less then “we have listed all the possible solutions and are testing them one at a time”.
i rather them adding DX11 first, for one only a minority of the players even use win8, most use win 7 or lower.
adding only DX12 would alienate everyone who doesn’t have win8 or higher, i am 100% sure they don’t want that.
oh and one more thing, the engine GW2 uses is not the GW1 engine.
they wanted to use the engine but it was to limited so they used a different engine, just look over here and see for your self.:
http://www.umbrasoftware.com/?url=umbra3
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/partners/
i only have 1 max lvl and almost a second one after all this time, i would be really kittened if i have to grind even more lvls.
GW1 never had a lvl increase and it was never needed, i don’t see the need in GW2 ether.
if anything, i hope they lower the lvl cap or remove levels since with all the scaling levels are pretty much useless.
why is it so wrong to make GW1 active again…….no really, are you so focused on GW2 that you don’t see what GW1 still has to offer.
they can add expansions, new chapters, update the graphics (and you don’t need a whole new engine for that).
heck, if they add more and more stuff for GW1 they can make it possible to add allot of stuff in both GW1 and GW2.
for instance, add the whole northern part of kryta/maguuma jungle as an expansion and within lore add this in GW2.
that way, GW1 becomes more active, they can add stuff for both games and even have a profit from both games.
toxicity aside, i just don’t see what so fun about it.
you can have a big story in PvE, you can’t in PvP.
i don’t play an RPG so i can kill other players, it’s what CoD games are made for, i play it to immerse my self in a world and to have adventures of my own choosing.
i like to have fun and killing other players isn’t my idea of fun, even if i would have champion-like skills i rather play 3 hours of PvE then even a minute of PvP.
People keep ignoring the most important question.
What is natural for non-human races though?
Lol. Well, from the pictures in this thread, it looks like hair extensions are considered natural.
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/55/46/5f/55465f594bb2e75f09436b6059704fff.jpg
However since ANet hasn’t specified styles for Asura and since Oola shows the styles can be elaborate, I would say just about anything goes.
Uh, yeah those are senegalese twists they’re a protective hairstyle for women with natural hair…
So you consider that a natural hairstyle? mkay
I don’t think you understand what I mean when I say “natural hair”. We have plenty of relaxed, straight hairstyles in game, typically this is attributed as “white people hair”. Black women who want to achieve this look use hair relaxers to make their hair straight like that. This typically damages their hair. However, when she wears her hair naturally (i.e. no relaxers) it takes on a soft, curly, kinky texture. The appearance and style changes depending on her hair care regimen. This is what I mean by natural hair.
So this ‘natural’ hairstyle is achieved by exposing it to artificially created chemicals, ok.
Also I’d like to point out there is a difference between “Natural hair” and “Natural hairstyle” as you seem to use them as if they mean the same thing.
Natural hair simply means the hair is real hair.
Natural hairstyle implies the hairstyle hasn’t been significantly altered (artificially) by accessoires, knots and chemicals. Or at the very least creates the illusion it wasn’t altered.Did you at all read what I wrote, dude?! I literally said natural hair is achieved when NO artificial chemicals are used to care for the hair. When I use the term “natural hairstyle” I am referring to hairstyles that women who wear their hair naturally can achieve.
then all you have to look at is this:
https://www.google.nl/search?q=medieval+hairstyles
GW2 isn’t in the modern age we are now, it’s more in the medieval times.
(edited by sorudo.9054)
if they made professions like necro’s able to dish more DPS with them and increase length of effect, that would improve it just nicely…….strictly PvE ofcouse.
i would rather them focusing them on having more control over zoom, in GW1 you just had to hold the scroll clicked and you have full zoom control, in GW2 the camera is ether to close or to far.
they call me chef at work but i barely know how to cook, it’s more a calling name to appoint a rank even if your profession isn’t the same.
Rha, I proposed some hairstyles, and I still work … But I do not know if the developers involved Asura like it, or do not want to deal with the Asuras.
absolutely love the first from third picture and last from forth picture, and that not only for asura
the problem is simply Anet’s choice of charr, if they let players decide what charr you want this would never be an issue.
to show some examples of how charr could’ve bin done with some modifications ofcouse.

and just in case you think charr never stood straight up, guess again:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Charr_Wardkeeper
I think it might be confusing to call someone “Commander” when there is the Commander rank in the game. It seems that the team chose more generic terms to avoid confusion with actual game-achieved attainments.
you really think i care about that, i am a commander by rank, not by showing of a tag that tells nothing of said skill. (the tag should be called point leader, i never listen to them anyway because more often then not they are the one dying the fastest)
if you could stop forcing difficult on players, that would be great.
you already have 3 whole new areas, dungeons, fractures and world bosses…..all new.
do you see new dungeons that are not so difficult, new areas that are made for lower levels/difficulty……no?…….my point exactly.New dungeons? where?
TA Aetherpath. It’s nobody’s problem if people asking for difficult content don’t do that dungeon. Sorudo hit the nail on the head.
Ahh, I thought he was talking about something new, not something that came out over a year ago…
it’s still new-er then from launch, my point is simply that i would like to see new areas and dungeons for the ppl who just don’t enjoy dungeons as they are now.
i like dungeons in GW because they still have normal enemies to fight, some things need some puzzling to get through a door.
in GW2 you’re bombarded with veteran enemies and higher, it’s pretty much a straight path through overpowered hordes of enemies that do nothing more then keep you busy.
what’s wrong with having a small dungeon that is more made for the casual group of players, a dungeon that just exists to have a side adventure without the hassle of overpowered enemies.
also, is it so much the end of the world to have lvl 30+ area’s, is it really so much a death sentence to increase the world’s size for the lower level characters?
max level isn’t the only thing in the world you know, they can already get everywhere but in the mean time lower level characters need to constantly play the same old world as it is from release.
i don’t mind seeing difficult stuff added but lately Anet is exclusively thinking of the hardcore crowd, making casuals feel like they don’t belong anymore.
if you could stop forcing difficult on players, that would be great.
you already have 3 whole new areas, dungeons, fractures and world bosses…..all new.
do you see new dungeons that are not so difficult, new areas that are made for lower levels/difficulty……no?…….my point exactly.
before the change: plenty of PvE choice with always some AP’s.
after the change: just 4 very specific PvE dailies with a high chance of forcing it to play your max character, 10 AP when you completed 3 dailies you might not even be able to complete.
and they wonder why we hate the change, i rather only have 3 AP’s with plenty of choice then no AP because i really can’t get the 2nd or 3rd done.
let’s get one thing straight, the shape of breasts has nothing to do with the same area shape on the armor.
if it did matter then we could also not change the shape on existing female breasts (let’s take the human as basis), you would see ether the breast clip trough the armor or you would see space between the breast and the armor.
so let’s not delude our selves around that, it adjusts it self on the shape the body already is even if it’s flat.
however, i do have to say that some armors are meant to have breasts in it, you can already see it when you wear a specific robe (forgot the name) with a bikini top while being a flat chested sylvari.
i see both sides of the story, yes it’s unfair to make asura/charr armors unisex (male) but i can also see why they did this in the long run.
there should be a middle ground, have all female armors for all females regardless of race but within reason.
in aura kingdoms they have it so that if you buy 10 boxes and the best loot didn’t drop after 9 times (in this case an outfit) the 10th will be a guaranteed drop, it’s a kind of service to say “thank you” to the players.
Anet however is pretty much giving us the finger and let us farm more then even perfect world would see as sane.
i really hope that IF it’s an expansion it doesn’t raise the level cap, it’s bad enough to have lvl 80 as lvl cap (lvl 40 would’ve bin fine).
however, i would never pay more then €25,- for an expansion and it better be an expansion in every sense of the definition.
just a small list of many i expect to be in it:
- not 1 armor set, i want to see at least 4-6 armor sets per armor class.
- 5 weapon sets.
- a whole new area (at least the size of EotN).
- mission areas
- new weapon types
- more weapon choice for professions
- new jumping puzzles
- a more GW1-like story line
- a more in-world way to use some gem store services. (like having a barber to change hair styles and a makeover apparatus to change body)
- profession changer
again, just a small list of what i expect in an expansion of €25,-
my sylvari is called harrlley quin so……no way it can make her even more mad then she is already :P
So inconsistent…
That’s part of my complaint. The other is: “So how exactly does doing this relate to the Trait Mastery getting unlocked?”
At least with Elite Skills your target would use it. (This was a considerable problem with some of them.) After they changed the capture system, it was not too bad but the initial one was even more BS than Traits are now.
How?
You had to have the Signet of Capture ready, and you needed to hit it while targeting the user, while they were using it. For some of the Elites I just can’t see how that worked at all.
I’m not sure when you stopped playing GW1… But all you had to do was have the Signet of Capture, kill the boss and use the signet on their corpse. A menu would pop up that would allow you to select the skill you want to take, which would usually be an elite skill. It’s way easier to capture skills in GW1 than it is to obtain traits in GW2.
Originally Signets of Capture worked like Tobias explained, prior to the June 8th, 2005 update, this skill had to be activated at the same time the targeted boss activated the desired skill. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Game_updates/20050608
that’s almost 10 years ago, it’s time you keep up with the times.
Galphar was explaining something that Tobias posted. It’s time you kept up with the thread.
it still happened 10 years ago, it’s time you get the point.
No the point is that before the April Trait patch people were asking for something like the Signet of Capture for Elite Skills in GW. What we got was the Trait revamp. Now IF they had gone the capture signet route then, IMHO, we wouldn’t have this 70+ page thread complaining about the changes to how we get traits.
no, we would have a 70+ page complaint on how annoying it is to even get 1 elite skill to begin with, i never wanted the whole capture in GW2 at all and never will.
last time i logged in i didn’t change in to a god, was blinded even while i could see just fine, became the leader of the world by throwing a speer (and in GW the speer is one of the lamest weapons) and i didn’t say things that made no sense yet ppl worship me for it.
it’s true that in an MMO for the most time you’re the center of the game but then again, in GW2 you become the sidekick more often then not.
in GW your character was only the center of the stage when you deserved it, for the most part you are seen as a hero but not threated like the only fighter of the world.
i wonder why they stopped doing that in GW2…….
So inconsistent…
