Now this i love. That would be awesome to click on someones icon to tell them someone’s coming. too often i was completing a map seeing someone was downed ran up and just before getting there they ported. smh
Definitely no inspecting unless we can manually turn off anyone from seeing our stuff!
Absolutely not. Been in too many games now where people abused that to the point the devs had to completely remove it from the games in question.
It will also help prevent people from knowing if you have exotics on or not and booting you from party if not.
Seen that happen too often in other games. it’s still a form of discrimination, and it’s still ugly.
I disagree with removal tho i would suggest they change the stats to power/toughness. would work better.
I also would like to add that if they won’t fix it (because it’s not working in open world AT ALL in all of my test runs of using it [outside of getting slightly better resource node drops]) then please remove it because tempting us and then denying us the better drops is cruelty.
I’d like trackable bars for these things. would speed things up a bit.
I third it. It would be nice to make these outright as well.
I would ask that an option to buy runes of holding be available via the gem store to save time. Gold as the only option just doesn’t work well.
As a crafter who’s been cut off from gathering the mats needed for end game gear from any other source other then this single dungeon, I can tell you we’re definitely NOT the minority. Unless by minority you mean, those players who spend more then five minutes in a game and who don’t jump to the next shiny that’s released with a fancy title or box cover.
The minority here are the dungeoneers just like the minority is the pvp’ers. Those two have had a very long history of only temporarily jumping the numbers and then leaving a game out in the cold when it counts. Those of us who explore, RP, gather, craft, and care about looks and not spreadsheets should be the focus of any game developer because we are the ones who keep the profit margins going long after the crowds interested only in stats and theorycrafting have long gone.
I find it odd that most of the mobs of the world have a chargeup effect but there isn’t one for these bosses, they use these skills like I would swat a fly.
Something does need to be changed in the ui.
My gaming background: I’m one of those old school gamers that started out playing the countertop games like DnD ADnD (had all 4 versions thru the years) and then moved on to GRPS, Shadowrun, WoD etc. Always being vividly imaginative I enjoyed these games throughout the years.
When MMO’s came out it offered me a chance to actually see clearly what other’s imaginations had come up with. Right before this I had started to play common games like RTS, spRPG games but no mmo. My first mmo experience was with the launch of WoW, My first character was an undead warlock named Bitsnpieces.
I then made a hunter. I was in the game so early that they hadn’t added pets to the hunter class yet. Loved it. I found they had just recently added engineering as a profession and picked that up since I liked the idea of having explosives.
It worked out well until somewhere after BC was released, a man named Ghostcrawler (a marine biologist I found out later) took over the project. Since then the game went downhill. More and more problems arose, the only time ideas from other games were updated in WoW were implemented was after losing a large chunk of subscriptions (which has happened off and on four times already over the course of years.)
Do I like the game?
I love GW2 core concept as demonstrated by the manifesto. Having been there done that when it comes to plenty of years of dungeon running I find dungeoneering tedius and annoying. Since I became sick and could no longer work, GW2 offered me a home. A place I could relax without worrying over numbers, gear, or other people’s expectations. I could finally have fun exploring, gathering the mats necessary to make the items I wanted (as an avid crafter) and finding the secrets in the game that lead to rewards.
That being said. I have a big BIG concern over where this game is heading. The general malaise from their most recent patch aside, there’s a ton of things that have been reported in bug reports, in the forums, and I’m sure via support tickets that are affecting this gameplay. The things I hate about the game have only recently come thru that have made this game unplayable in any other way other then one single dungeon. I’m sure that’s not what the devs had originally planned for this title.
- DR, MF, lowering drop rates of globs, lowering of the drop rates in the open world.
- RNG for items from the fractals
- Ignoring many of the problems the adventurer classes face in pve (which was one of the reasons I left WoW originally because every week something was nerfed about my favorite class, I had to relearn the thing all over again and had to change gear multiple times over a three month period. I fear this is occurring again with the adventurer classes in this game)
- Trying to force the community to play in a single play style. (Many of us who came from other titles came to GW2 because it offered us a change from the dungeon only play style. If people want to play that way fine, let them but don’t force the rest of us to do that.)
All in all this game is great. I’ve not had this much fun until recently with the changes they’ve made. I was doing fine gathering the things I need (I don’t speed thru anything) while leveling and running with my guild in open world events, always having enough people out there to handle the events effectively. Now tho with their Nov 16th patch changes, they’ve scared my section of the community. I hope they tell us their plans soon.
right now i agree it is a trend. We’re all anxious to see their response to this problem.
I this only happening in US servers?
I’m in Gandara EU and haven’t experienced any difference in any zone.People are still attempting Balthazar, Orr chat is always active, everyone still do all the dungeons. Lucky server or American behavior?
It’s happening on mine daily. People aren’t doing the older dungeons (can’t ever find five) if we do find five they ask you what you’re wearing. If we try to go to Orr to continue with our normal events process there’s not enough people to clear the temples to even buy anything because they’re all in LA waiting to get into fractals.
We need a response about what exactly they plan on doing about the bottlenecking they’ve put into the game by:
1: adding gear with higher stats
2: making it impossible to farm for mats for end game crafting (DR, broken MF, impossibly low drop rates)
3: making all of the drops worth anything drop only in dungeons
4: making new rewards using a currency only found in one dungeon
All of these things have lead to this model they have now, which is basically causing people to care only about one play style and that’s not what their manifesto told us this game would be.
I do hope they give us some word next week sometime when the holiday is over about what exactly is on the agenda.
This data does not take into account the incessant misses, the long drawn out timers between attacks (pistols should not take as long as rifles, even thieves suffer because of this) and does not take into account the timer before bombs explode as well as the time it takes for grenades to hit their target as well as the problems facing engis where an enemy can simply step to the side to “dodge” a grenade because they aren’t a tab target ability.
So while it’s nice to dream that every attack we use will hit and sure it does seem we do alot of damage against the test statues in the town, that’s not the reality of the situation when in a real fight even in pve.
(edited by tigirius.9014)
I was thinking more along the lines of an effect similar to the effect my thief receives after coming out of stealth letting me know how long it will be before I can stealth again. Not sure what it’s called but can’t be that difficult to do.
Well there was one i thought was interesting it only have three buttons on it and it was for cleaning up the environment but WOW did it do soooo much more damage and was more effective then the Elixir gun that takes about 30 hits to do any damage close to killing any mobs especially with the cond damage nerf we’ve experienced where burning is the only thing viable anymore.
I would like to request some sort of simple cooldown debuff animation for how long this takes so that we can know when to use it next. It would help out with support spec alot as I use this to help keep the healing going along with the cooldowns of the various regen abilities I have in the toolbelt.
So I was in Fire Heart Rise and I was helping Lyon with his experimental grenade kit and I noticed a huge difference in damage vs my kit with explosives as the focus of my spec.
Each tick of the single grenade that I was throwing was 1711 for the #1 ability. For my grenade kit it’s 830 (adding two together, if i turned on the extra grenade trait it was 1126).
Each #2 ability (which is the burning grenades btw, with Lyon’s kit hit for 1812 noncrit.
Mine hit for 2 grenades for 330 = 660.
The kit had a couple of grenades I’m very surprised we don’t have. But that’s beside the point. It amazes me everyone thinks this is perfectly normal. It’s sad when a kit from an npc for heart quest does more damage then the kit the class is actually supposed to use and specialize in.
When using my grenades it took a total of 10-11 attacks to kill the same elemental as I killed with the npc’s kit that only too 5-6.
Can we make it work properly for PVE again. All we’re asking for is that explosives actually do appropriate damage. Grenade and Bomb kits haven’t worked properly for a long time now.
I’m curious as this is one of the items we were told would increase. Has anyone had luck with this? I can’t get them to drop at all.
Curious as I would love to compelete my exotic set with a set of Ogre runes which are now close to 4gold ea the last time i checked.
RNG is RNG – you have had bad RNG. I just salvaged 10 rares yesterday with BL kits – first 6 were 0 3 1 2 3 3, next 4 were 0 1 0 0.
Actually no…because ANY mathematician worth his weight in water will tell you that no one can make an equation that generates an absolutely random result, there is always a variance of + or – in which Anet definitely has their finger on to adjust one way or another. So please don’t insult our intelligence by telling us that.
Secondly, My last dealings with salvaging was on 4 rares (because MF just absolutely refuses to give me better drops so I found by not using it I have a higher chance of rares oddly) and when I used their BLC kit with 50% chance of rare mats I got 0 globs.
There’s something wrong when you have a 100% chance of getting nothing.
So i was looking up jeweler crafting mats because since i got a few orichalcum i thought i might start putting together the items needed to make some exotic jewelry.
Keep in mind these are only exotics folks, they are not infused nor do they have anywhere close to the stats that legendaries have.
So I looked it up and low and behold I need 1 glob of ecto per exquisite jewel 5 of these jewels per piece of exotic jewelry right. That’s a tad extreme when even the candycorn jewelry didn’t require so much.
So I looked up the next best thing, the rares. Embellished jewels actually use globs of ectoplasm and require 3 embellished jewels per jewelry piece. REALLY?
Why would anyone make rares when it takes just as many almost impossible to find globs of ectoplasm to put together the exotics?
This makes no logical sense.
I’m a huntsman as well so I looked that up. Apparently, the requirement for globs of ectoplasm for rare level 80 items is only required for jewelers.
So I ask you. Someone please explain to me why this is solely a requirement for jewelers and how this is in any way balanced if none of the other disciplines are required to have a glob of ecto per dowel or sigil or rune or any other thing they need to make rares until they can collect the extremely difficult to find mats to make an exotic set?
op you certainly AREN’t the only one let me tell you I’ve been complaining for about a month now. I have no idea what’s going on or why we haven’t had an answer to why this is like this now suddenly.
Bots certainly aren’t the problem anymore since they can detect them now.
sooooooo why are we keeping DR and the quantity of drops so low again?
you were right on the mark until you reached the end.
Ascended gear is a problem for multiple reasons and not simply because it was added to the game with higher stats, tho that does present a very LARGE issue in wvw.
Right before they added ascended gear they performed a series of stealth nerfs and some announced ones.
They added DR claimed it was due to bots, they broke magic find, they reduced drops to almost 0% chance from open world mobs, they prevented magic find from affecting chest drops, and they claimed they’ve increased the drop rates from champions and veterans but so far all I’ve received is the same crap that i’d receive from any other normal mob making fighting those things useless unless karma as a reward is involved. They nerfed the number of globs of ecto per item to less then 30%. (out of ten items salvaged you might get 3-4 globs now if anything. I recently salvaged 4 level 80 rares and got 0 globs, at that rate one can’t progress at all)
So basically that leaves us with a single play style to progress in the game. dungeons.
The drop rates in dungeons are the only way to actually receive rewards for your time.
So what do people do in response to this, they play fractals not just for the infused gear but also for the chance at getting drops they can make a legendary with. (keep in mind when i say drops i mean rares, items that give use globs of ecto.)
So it’s not solely about the infused armors being better, it’s more about the fact they have not only made a single viable spec per class to play by destroying cond builds, but they have also made only a single viable way of progressing in the game.
This is supposed to be a game filled with choices and for the most part it is until the end game. It’s so confusing what they have done to progression and to any other spec other then burst damage specs because the end game has even fewer choices now then ever.
conds are nerfed beyond belief about a month ago. They were doing this before they actually started coding differently between pve and pvp ability behaviors. That aside it was actually not functioning properly for many of the classes to begin with.
For example, pistols taking just as long to fire as rifles but having half the dps. Bombs/grenades for engineers having a global 1 second before causing damage (travel times/timer before exploding), shotgun for engis doesn’t hardly cause any bleeding for any real amount of time to make it useful. (I dunno about you but if you’re shot point blank with about 100 led pellets I’m sure the wound would be gushing.) Three examples of how it doesn’t function properly that come to mind immediately. This doesn’t just affect the thief and engineer tho, it’s global.
Burning as a condition is the only condition working as intended because it’s not delayed by anything and not nerfed like the others were.
Poison and bleeding need a huge boost and they need to have their limitations taken away.
Cond damage builds should be doing ALOT more in pve otherwise why have it as an option if it’s not going to be fixed. They literally should just take it out of the game if they don’t want to treat it as a viable option for a spec. We’re already being forced to be Prec/Pow/%damage builds on everything. I can’t remember the last time i used a kit on my engineer outside of being underwater for dps.
It’s actually easier to follow the pow/pre setup with pistol and shield or dual pistols because of the way they’ve bottlenecked us into a single viable spec for every class right now.
Doesn’t make any sense.
There seriously needs to be an auto-sort or stack function. It would make life easier.
There are bags that do this automagically.
Here’s my setup on my main.
regular starter backpack, karka bag (event), 15 slot gear box, 15 slot invis bag, 15 slot crafters bag.
That pretty much sums it up. They are available in all sizes and the mats for the smaller ones (like lower levels) aren’t expensive or hard to find. I did also at one point have a oiled bag for greys but decided 5 slots was more important.
Oh and there is a compact command in the bag window on the gear cog interface.
Seems to be true unfortunately. The new Fotm dungeon being the sole means of progression for many now.
See it’s not just that they added this gear it’s that they pretty much have taken away any other means of obtaining anything else.
Casuals like me are being affected by the addition of this new armor set being the new shiny. Most players who want to be competative in wvw will be grinding this single dungeon. That means they won’t be doing open world events like freeing the temples in Orr. We’ve already seen this time and time again where the temples are all taken over 80% of the time and no one can even port to the locations on the cursed shore. Add to this not being able to get a large enough group to take back the temples because everyones running fractals and you’ve got a big problem.
They also broke the drop rates, kept DR (preventing farming of mats for crafting), and broke magic find so that it doesn’t actually do what it’s intended to do, increase the quality of the drops.
So now. the sole method of getting anything you need is all in dungeons.
That’s why you see such a large number of people posting to the forums right now. They’ve bottlenecked people into a single play style.
Bleeds don’t do much even with Cond armor on i know i have it.
That is a subjective fallacy of a comment.
The block should have a secondary attack like the other classes with similar abilities, like when hit bam dazes or knocks back or multiple quick hits.
That is not even factually accurate. You say "other classes’. well there are 2 other class’s with shields. Warrior is one, and its shield skill that block, has no natural secondary effect. So, stop making false claims. Further more, it is not a shield skill, so your claim, doesn’t apply at all. It is blocking ability, not a shield skill
They need to bring bleed damage universally up to where burn damage is. .
How so? They do not even function the same. Bleeds easily out damages burn. Bleed can do up to 2,875 damage per second at 1200-1300 condition damage, were as burns cap at around 630 damage per second. They stack and function absolutely differently.
It’s not a fallacy it’s a fact. They nerfed the dps of conditions like bleed and poison about a month ago. Check the patch notes.
Bleeds don’t stack as quickly on this class as they do for others, they don’t stack as fast on pistols either (without a quickness rune or potion mind you) because the attacks for pistols have been nerfed to being as slow as rifles. (I know I play a thief as well and pistols on thieves are almost useless at this point as well).so , once again, bleeds don’t do much damage. My original statement stands.
Poisons were nerfed around the same time.
The block I’m referring to is the block we commonly see in the underwater attacks of the spear and the ground attacks of the mesmer where one times the blocks and when the enemy hits, the next attack occurs immediately. Like creating a duplicate in the mesmer’s case.
Inconsistent abilities are part of the problem with the engineer class. Many of us have made this observation before. It’s almost as if, some of the abilities were just thrown together as an experiment to be balanced and completed later in the development process.
I love the class don’t get me wrong, but I just think there should be more working on this class to fix the holes before any new content should be considered.
Even without being traited for healing right now supply crate has saved my hide multiple times. (it takes ALOT more mobs to kill me now then it did glad they fixed healing)
When the X wears off is where the danger lies. While trying to take back temples for example you could find yourself normal and without a prayer of surviving the twenty or so mobs you just made mad by knocking them around with the tornado.
grenade kit and bomb kit both have a huge disadvantage and thats the 1 second timer before they go off. This isn’t the best kit people and they are truly less powerful then the rifle because of it. they have only two uses in the game, using them for anything else is usually suicide.
The frost affect does not last long enough to keep enemies from reaching you, and poison does not do as much damage as fire, that is still imbalanced.
6% bleed is a useless trait as you are also without any real dps from these explosions because enemies just keep coming while they are poisoned bleeding and on fire.
Cond damage needs a boost to work properly again because without it the cond’s engis have just don’t do much damage really.
Giving grenades a tab target lock will not increase their damage because quite simply the explosive radius will still be so tiny people can step to the left to dodge them.
We need tab targeting to make this kit on par with the other kits otherwise it’s just another job instead of a game of fun.
There is no justification for keeping it a ground target ability. (accept #5)
I can understand this being an issue when the game first launched when you were dealing with thousands of new customers joining the game per day, but does it really need to continue on into months later?
The load screen for going to LA is absolutely insane. The server for the placement of players in which overflow channels or same server shards is entirely too slow.
I don’t have the top of the line. But I definitely don’t have a wimpy computer a wimpy router or a wimpy interweb connection.
The load times are horrendous.
Weird to find this here but okay.
I wouldn’t think that a function that’s typically server side has anything to do with the client or hardware.
The drop rates, DR, and magic find have been broken for about a month now, but recently since before them adjusting + – the undiscovered dyes there’s been a marked absense of any rare drops.
What’s worse is that even the globs of ectoplasm have completely been disabled. My last attempt of getting any rares involved combining 4 level 65 godskull rares in the mystic forge to get a level 70+ rare to salvage. I used their BTC salvage kit that one normally buys with real money, and out of 4 rares I got 0 globs.
Magic find doesn’t do a single thing for drops. before this last patch I got worse and worse scale drops (if everything stacks I would have 278% I’m guessing since there’s no indication online or in game of how this works.) and I would get nothing or greys. with this newest patch (the one that added infused armors and the fractal dungeon) I get nothing but blues now. But if my mf increases in the slightest (like if someone in the guild turns on MF guild buff the one for three days) suddenly I get greys again.
I’ve gone over the math and the drop rate of rares (the only way people can get globs btw) has dropped to nothing, the only way people can progress now is to run a dungeon because that’s the only place anything drops and even that is dropped to almost nil even with mf, can’t buy nothing from the karma vendors at the temples because no one is clearing them out.
Oh well guess I’ll wait for enough people to drop the game and their profits drop enough to actually take action once more, the only time it seems to make any difference.
We can post and post and post about it but usually the only way to get these execs who demand these things from the devs ( demand that they force us to buy more from the store or buy gold by making it impossible to progress any other way), [the only way to get those who demand these things from the devs] is to hit them in the pocket. Once that occurs we’ll see a complete redux and return to the manifesto 100%.
Magic Find is currently broken.
Edit: As are the PvE zone loot tables.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Abysmal-drop-rates-now-everywhere/first#post832297
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Didn’t realize we should be posting in there.
yep.
The DIRECT result of a new tier of armor and dungeons as the only means of receiving drops and of progression.
waiting for someone to post how harmless adding this tier of armor is now. We’re seeing the results of it and the fears that most of us expressed when they added this are coming true day by day.
no one is in Orr anymore, so how can we get karma. nothing drops anymore accept in dungeons so how are we supposed to craft, temples aren’t freed anymore so how are we supposed to get the sets, powerful blood (hardly) and globs of ecto (almost never) drops (due to DR) so how are we supposed to farm?
in b4 someone claims drops work fine for them.
we tried to warn people about this happening when they began their campaign of stealth nerfing drops a month ago. (like we wouldn’t notice rares disappearing entirely from loot or magic find actually reducing drop quality instead of the other way around).
This above all else needs addressing alongside all of the problems with class balance in pve. (you know where they tried to balance it for pvp but the code wasn’t separated properly so it’s affecting pve behaviors.)
RNG in open world is just as bad at this point. My progression as a gatherer/crafter has been stunted since a month ago. Imagine buying multiple slots for alts and not being able to gear but one of them. Yeah.
Globs are almost impossible to salvage for now, even with the BTC salvage kits.
Rares almost never drop off anything
Vet/champs don’t have improved drops.
Magic find is still completely useless even when getting drops from regular mobs.
DR is STILL in the game even tho they don’t need it since they can detect bots now.
It’s just disheartening the whole thing. When did this game lose the ability to have fun and become a second job?
I am liberal in the sense that I want reasonable government protecting the minorities from dictations from people who already “got theirs and want even more”, but when it comes to gaming I do think that if you want a legendary then you must work for it.
That being said, I don’t want a legendary nor do I personally want infused armors, but that does NOT mean I won’t be vocal when I see an injustice.
The injustice I’m seeing in this game is that their model for the fractals flies in the face of everything we were told this game would be and the reasons why this game would have a more horizontal progression model was due to people having responsibilities and RL concerns.
reducing drops to mere nothing, keeping people from using the expensive magic find sets by breaking them, forcing people to run long drawn out dungeon runs to get anything for drops, making the fractals so important that people aren’t even doing Orr content anymore to free the temples, making the infused armor nothing like the original infused armors in GW1 by adding higher stats to them…..ALL of this is in the direction opposite from what we were told this game would be in their interviews and manifesto. ALL of it.
So, It’s not so much they added gear …fine add another tier. But keep the game horizontal.
Make the new gear craftable or remove the stats….simple.
Make drops what they were when the game launched so people can continue to farm what they need, why am I being forced to run dungeons to get ANY drops at all?
Make the magic find stat actually work properly AND affect all chests.
Make chests scale to the level of the person finding them when opened.
All of these simple things will bring the game back around to what made it what they described in their manifesto. That’s why we’re angry. I could personally care less that there’s a shiny, what I don’t like is they’ve bottlenecked the progression to only 1 play style and they’re making this game a job and not a game.
I would love this.
Oh and thanks so much Anet for making the arrows for increasing decreasing the number of items back to the original setup because it was a pain trying to click hold up and down the quantity with my mouse like it was a week ago.
I guess i didn’t notice this since i was leveling a huntsman at the same times but yeah that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever….o.O
Hmm i like to roam around in LA in my own server, but i only get in the overflow. So i log out very fast cause its boring. Wish you could put the dungeon in some other town ( so that ppl come there too ) cause i enjoyed the chit chat in LA, but now.. thats gone too.
The only concern i have about this is that it takes four forevers to load. I can understand this being the case at the launch of the game where there’s bound to be bugs, but i do not have a wimpy computer nor do i have a wimpy router or a bad connection to the net and it STILL takes forever to load in LA. If the mystic forge wasn’t there I would never log there (as I am not a dungeoneer style player so fractals mean nothing to me.)
I hadn’t thought of this as being a problem but it definitely is. RNG has never been a good system for drops in games especially with something like this. I feel your pain because of the opposite reason. Now since they’ve been playing with the drop rates for a month now and left DR in the game despite not needing it due to detecting bots more effectively, I can’t gear my alts.
Only one of my characters has half his exotic gear.
Why you ask? Well it’s due directly to their playing with drop rates, messing with MF so it doesn’t work and it’s pointless to have, and keeping DR in open world environments. They’ve done all this I suspect to make people run dungeons more, buy gems to convert to gold.
It’s backfiring because now most of us can’t get a single rare to drop, and if by some miracle it does occur, we get none of the mats we need not even a single glob of ectoplasm drops even while using the black lion store salvage kits.
It’s gotten absolutely ridiculous. They want us to pay for character slots, fine, they want us to pay for bank slots, fine, but we should not have to use RL money to get the items we need to gear our characters.
Racial, guild, globs should not cost RL money to obtain. That’s unacceptable and until they change it they will be receiving more complaints.
I feel your pain, I would be mad as a badger in heat on wednesday if that happened to me.
Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving,
I’m new to the guild wars world and I’ve enjoyed playing with my Asura engineer over the last couple of days. However I am seeing quite a bit of negative feedback towards the game on the forum.
In all honesty, is this a game worth sticking with or is it one already in a state of decline?
Despite those who despise anyone saying anything negative about the direction Anet is taking and who try to minimize the complaints of others by making them seem unreasonable crazed terrorists who want to ruin other people’s fun, this game is worth sticking with.
There are serious concerns but I’m sure Anet will address them in time. They are most likely gathering their statements and bug teams together after the holidays to get the work completely that will return the current state of the game to it’s former glory (which was only 1 month ago btw).
I plan on sticking around to find out if they will be taking their players reasonable and just concerns seriously in future patches.
I would suggest sticking around to find out what happens next yourself.
Aside from the loot magicfind and profession bugs It’s a great game. We’ll just have to wait to see if they will be making the fixes that are needed in upcoming patches which will quiet the forums for the most part.
All bugs progress drops problems aside, this game is the best experience in any mmo I’ve had thus far. As a gathcraftsplorer this game definitely fits my play style and until recently was the best horizontal progression I’ve experienced in any title.
One can only hope that the mistakes they are making right now will be fixed soon and won’t further alienate players like me from mmo’s altogether by making this a dungeoncentric title.
dungeoncentricity is why I left all other titles behind.
They have a chance now to prove to us their manifesto matters going forward. I hope they take it and keep the pride they’ve shown in their videos to the public in future patches.
I think I was on that same Arah event run, total loot?
Three blues and a level 65 Medallion of the Traveller. Plenty of junk bones though.
That’s been my experience in Orr all over. It’s like they want us to only do fractals. Not all of us are dungeoneers Anet, you know that because you attracted us to your game prior to launch.
Please fix the drop rates and remove DR asap! thanks.
drop rates have NOT increased they are still the same notably off of champs/vets.
It’s like either they have serious issues with this mechanic and they are bugging it by manipulating it, or they are manipulating the drop rates so that people might be more inclined to make gem purchases for gold exhange, if it’s the second one then they are lying to us about the drop rates increasing on vets/champs because it’s seriously NOT happening.
I know they claim it’s completely random but mathematically it’s impossible to make things completely random and currently the drop rates from items off of vets/champs is unacceptable.
I ran around killing things last night and out of three veterans 1 champ I got 1 grey and 3 blues. The grey came off the champion.
I ran around today this time with my luck rune on one of my weapons. I got 2 blues off of four vet kills.
Now keep in mind these blues ARE level 80 like they promised but still not seeing better drops from vets/champs. We should get greens/rares more often and we should definitely see MF increase the quality of these drops immediately after the percentage increased. (my mf from the rune on the second set was at max 25 stacks).
And currently chest drops are always blues 100% of the time.
Anyone else getting this?
Same goes for tools (axes, pickaxes & sickels)
Exactly that would certainly keep people from having to destroy stacks if we could. can’t sell them.
This is not really an option actually. And no they won’t ever go for it. However there is an alternative to your request that can be done by Anet easily.
They could make key personal story dungeons repeatable with enhanced rewards upon completing them. They have the tech already built into the game for this so it should be easily done.
They already have scaling, instancing, and scripting so making a few key personal story events repeatable where you could play with a duo or trio without issues or even solo without issues would be easily programmed.
Some of the battles would be fun to repeat imo.
And that’s if you absolutely must be in an instance. Imo i like the open world stuff the most we just need more meta events with great rewards to keep us going, no more of this dungeon only model crap that seems to be the focus coming out of the dev team, it breaks the manifesto every time they enhance dungeons to do anything other then horizontal progression. (like right now they need to make the older dungeons drop the infused armor items just like the fractals so people aren’t stuck doing just that one dungeon over and over and it would make the other dungeons worth while again).
Perhaps a color-coded system could be implemented, so when you mouse over and see the text “(f) gather” it could show red if your current gathering tool is way too low for the node. But… gathering tools are cheap, and sometimes even if the node is way beyond my tool.. I could still get something useful.
I actually think that’s a good idea. I have text turned on for my toons, so when i click on a node the name is in yellow….how about if they make that text gold if you can successfully gather them with the tools equipped and red if you need better tools.
Also, imo once you reach level 400 in any crafting profession there should be available to you the ability to craft your own tools, ones that don’t need replacement but still need occassional repairs. That would offset the cost of these as well. Make them have special materials like an exotic but also give them like a larger number of times to be used like those crafting tools available now from the commendation vendor.
It just makes sense that if you learn to do a crafting profession to a maximum you should be able to build your own better gathering tools for said profession.
Not a big fan of capes. I replaced every cape with a backpack or cloak in LOTRO because i don’t my character to look like a comic book super hero in this setting it just doesn’t fit.
I would love hooded cloaks both with the hood up and down, I owuld like backpacks of multiple types for multiple purposes (there was a cook backpack and a cartographers backpack with rolled up scrolls quill and ink and books wrapped in leather in LOTRO) those are just two of the kool things that come to mind.
Also one could make an alchemists backpack with some empty and some full potion vials, a bag or two of special ingredients.
And a bag filled with treasure items like the top could be a tiny bit open to see some gold in there with some chaless hanging on the side and a crown and a jeweled dagger hilt sticking out the top. the sack could be Burlap.
Guild variants abound and non guild variants preferred. Could we make these items and guild backpacks in the future all obtainable with karma please?
