Are hard counters to terror build, but no one wants to use those and just prefer to stick to their current setup.

Terror is OP against bad players. Learn to counter necromancers, like necromancers have been learning to counter thieves and mesmers. Don’t expect any nerf soon.

Dhuumfire it’s OK. Necros asked for burning, we got burning. It’s not in Curses (condition damage tree) but in Spite (condi duration tree). So you cannot stack damage and duration for burning, unless you wanna be a glass condi burster. But that’s ok too, if gc mesmers and gc thieves are ok, then gc necros should be allowed too. No nerf required.

Please stop this crying fest. It’s lame to see how mesmers are complaining now. While they have been trolling with stupid OP mechanics since 10 months ago.

the kitten minion detonates Death Nova upon Putrid Explosion. Death Nova does damage. Hence, should do the damage of the Death Nova. This is called Synergy.

This post is for reporting a bug, not for asking anyone opinions on what is OP or not.
And, as a bug, this should be fixed.

make dagger cleave, and axe an hybrid weapon. Remove vulnerability and put poison on #1, remove cripple from #3 and put it in #2, put weakness in #3 and done. You have an attrition weapon that use the condition duration on Spite line, just where is the trait for Axe.
Your foe can’t run, can’t dodge, can’t heal while you do abysmal damage, pretty much the attrition concept.

I think Devs realized how we feel about the class. They started to post more in the forum and even watched and participated on BOC podcast (via chat). In SOTG they took a lot of time talking about warr and necro, two of the worst classes for pvp atm.

But, I won’t show gratitude to anyone before necros are fixed and become viable in tpvp and a welcomed in fractals/dungeons

By the way, the bouncing thing makes it such that almost all AI are bounce-able. Meaning not just clones that are eating up bounces.

Necro minions are gonna waste your Reaper’s touch bounces (imagine enemy->player->minion instead of enemy->player->enemy). Engis are gonna get their Elixir F granting their turrets swiftness. Guardians are could get their Ray of Judgement wasted too.

it won’t be on the curses tree.
burn it’s more like a spite tree trait. Bleeding + burning + terror influenced by condition damage would be OP and too much burst.
In spite, burning would be influenced by condition duration, making it more attrition and less burst. Burning and Frozen will be AWESOME!

you posted a critical hit on the mage and a normal hit on the zerker, please show both crits o both normal attacks.

beside, post a normal attack on the zerker, not that sometimes-weak-attack.

sometimes the hit is much harder and this is because the nature of the whirl attack. You wont get all the attacks all the time against a single target.

1.- ….And you have been playing for a couple of months so that means you don’t know what the damage was before Feb 26th. And you haven’t experienced the Mesmer greatsword working properly…

2.- Because between the bouncing attack on mirror blade going to clones or a ranger pet or a necro minion instead of a player and the inconsistency of pZerker the GS is pretty much dead in a tournament spec.

1.- I played mesmer before that, just I had not play it since march-april. I think the damage it’s good as it is now, phantasmal berzerker follows your target and then attack, it’s AI its pretty good compared to necro minions. You get better hits on other players since they are not static objectives.

2.- all bouncing attacks works like that. Focus 4 on necros doesn’t bound on our minions and I think it’s crap. Because when the projectile doesn’t found a target it stop bouncing and you lost skill potential. You can prevent this bounce issue staying in melee range.

let me understand…
you used to hit up to 5 targets for 5k damage each 6 secs or so … and you think that was ok-ish.
Those pics were taken a couple of hours ago and I think it’s ok, maybe it was a bug and now it’s fixed, or maybe Devs are feeling good about the current damage of phantasmal berzerker skill. Remember they don’t want to much AOE in the game.

look at this, I played my mesmer after a couple of months, first match top player kills… the burst it’s insane with pretty good defensive and escape mechanics.

1. first pic: you can hit hard too. For me, this is high risk high reward.

1. Clones/Shatters-Class mechanic get used to it its not going anywhere… Clones do no damage and mindwrack does good damage only with all the right traits base damage sucks.
2. Phantasm Dueling Build: only good in 1v1 complete garbage in any tourney
3. Moa: Dodge Dodge skill #5… wait… then go kill that Mesmer
4. Focus Pull-Long cooldown and in PvP the focus phantasm sucks.
5. Hard to Catch in Fights- Once again the point. Jsharp has said that they want mesmers to have some of the slipperiness of the thief without getting it all… we do have some… however for actually escaping a fight every class including guardians and a DS necro can catch us.

1. Clones do no damage they are only a deception mechanic, are you really complaining about clones not doing damage? Do you want they hit like phantasms? Mesmers can create new clones with dodge roll without cooldown and you really think they should do damage… lol
2. You have good weapon sets for 1v1 and you are complaining about it?, not all weapons and specs are good for everything, this is even more lol than 1.
3. Don’t know why the best shutdown elite skill of the game is in this post. If you can’t think of at least 3 good uses for this skill… you should stop playing mesmer.
4. I play necro, please tell me more about long cooldowns… lol again.
5. Omg, you are ignorant. There is no such thing as a DS necro all necros are DS necros. Necros can’t catch anyone. Necros can prevent enemies to run from battle, those are two totally different things.

Sure mesmers have bugs, as any other class. But this is more like a l2p issue.

I thought of that but that’s exactly why I made this topic. It’s not fair to judge a class too soon if perhaps trying something at a later time will make me enjoy it more.

I’m torn between Thief, Necro and Guardian. What to do :S

-Necros are awesome outside tpvp. Great for WvW leveling and farming. Some ppl dont want them in dungeons/fractals though.
-I haven’t played thief pass lvl 10 so I can’t speak for them.
-Guardians are awesome everywhere except for solo leveling, but great for dungeons/fractals.

1.) Add 1 sec poison or burning to axe 1. Don’t increased base damage, make it an hybrid weapon.
2.) Bone minions run to your target before explode.
3.) Minions attack your target when you press 1, even if the attack miss the target. Minions stop attacking when you drop the target.

Compared to the Mesmer we do have more Health + our class mechanic provides a second health bar.

Please people, stop saying this. Life force is not HP, you start the match with 0 LF, you can’t heal LF, you can’t even heal HP in DS, it’s hard to build LF and degen itself at a stupidly high rate of 4% per sec.

They need it to stay alive, we don’t. Theoretically.

To be fair about the tooltip fixes, a lot of them seem to be dealing with hard coded descriptions that need to be recoded, then rewritten, then re-checked for every language the game supports. And then they need to be bug tested to make sure that they’re accurately changing along with stat changes, and as soon as you involve bug testing like that you get mind numbing work combined with meticulous paperwork to catalogue everything with. That’s the main reason we only get a couple tooltip fixes per class each update.

However, balance changes are a whole different bag of tricks… At this point I think they somehow still don’t have a full game plan of how they want the classes to work together in the end, so they’re just doing tweaks here and there while they experiment behind the scenes as to what may work. As people have said, the Warrior and the Necro both need changes almost at a structural level and they’re deathly afraid of going in the wrong direction and then having to rescind any changes.

God, they are lazy… last month tooltip “bug fixing”, this month tooltip “bug fixing”.
How much time did it take to re write those descriptions? 10 minutes? 1 day? 2 kittening weeks? I’m really frustrated necromancer are the only class they don’t give a kitten about.

lets go through your list and debunk some of this shall we?

Classes with no access to invulnerability:
-Necromancer: death shroud, plague form + blind spam.

DS is not invulnerability, it’s a class mechanic. The “second HP bar” is not such thing cause it degen itself.
Plague form blind are just in an area, do you know what a ranged attack is?

Classes with no access to vigor:
-Necromancer: this one is actually correct, but only a few classes can get enough vigor to rely take advantage of it (ranger, ele, guardian, engi-sort of).

“few” and you list 4 out of 8… lol

Classes with no disengage mechanic on their weaponsets:
-Necromancer: death shroud 2 can theoretically be used as a disengage

theory is not what we are discussing here, stick to the thread

Classes with no access to swiftness in viable builds:
-Necromancer: spectral walk?

you’re right here. but not in a condition build.

Classes with no Block/Evade skills:
-Necromancer: again, death shroud = most imba block mechanic in the game.

Again, DS is not block. you need build life force to use DS its really hard in some builds, and it degen itself so fast.

Necromancer is perfectly fine where it’s at in my opinion

epidemic epidemic is one of the few good thing necro can bring to a high pvp scenario.

WELLS they are good on power builds, and power build are lackluster

Just because it’s harder to play doesn’t mean it’s not viable.

We’re not ignoring any of the classes, I’m sorry if people feel that way. We simply don’t have time to personally post in all threads, on all our sub-forums.

If we feel ignored it’s cause of slow and non existent balance patches (for warr and necros, respectively) not for your lack of replies on the forum
