It’s not a bug. When you complete a story step with another player, it asks if you wish to accept progress and advance to “name of next story step.” If you want to keep playing with that other player and accept progress, it will move you both to the next step together, even if your character normally wouldn’t follow that storyline. The alternate would be to NEVER allow you to accept progress, which would make playing co-op rather annoying, since you’d have to play each story step once for every player.

Yes, that worked for me, too. I usually have several screens full of orders waiting for me that I salvage for luck.

After I picked up items, a large green star showed up at the right edge of the screen, indicating that the episode was now available. It’s now unlocked in my journal. I still haven’t received any mail about it.

It takes a lot to fill up the internal queue, so I’m not sure that this will solve the problem for everyone, but would you kindly try the above and let us know if that resolved the issue for you?

Thanks, this has solved my problem. I’m using trading post very heavily for trading items and I had a good amount of ordered&bought items waiting in queue to pick up. When I picked some of them up, I received the unlock dialog of “gates of maguuma”.
I couldn’t have guessed that it was the TP.

So my friend that got Gw2 some time ago had trouble playing so he ofc got a new pc, however he forgot his password and character name and now he can’t reset his password as he forgot his character name.

He is on my friend list and i can’t see his character name either only his account name (Keith.6035)

And as he forgot his password he can’t join the forums and ask anything himself, So my question is, can you send him an email about his character name or maybe make it so i can see his character name on my friends list?.

I see your friend submitted a ticket, which is the perfect solution for this situation. The team will do their best to help, and normally this isn’t a complicated situation. I should mention it might take a day or two, but we’re shifting some of our people to help out with tickets in this area, and I don’t think it’ll be longer than that.

Unfortunately the crash has damaged most of the crystals that have fallen into Dry Top and their power fades much more rapidly than in the cliffs. Each crystal will grant you 15 seconds to use skills before the crystals power has dissipated.

I’m aware of an occasional lag between the gold trade and the receipt of gems. Receipt usually is instant, but it can take several minutes for the gems to arrive. (It can be concerning because the gold goes out and the gems don’t come in right away, so you’re thinking, “Hmmmm…”)

If you can, I recommend waiting 24 hours before submitting a ticket. (You certainly can submit sooner, but 99.999% of issues resolve within an hour, and then an additional .9999% clear up within the 24 hours, leaving just a tiny, tiny percentage that require closer investigation.)

I wonder if there’s a way ANet can make an ability in the options menu to disable viewing someone’s guild name (and guild tag)?

Enabling optional visibility of names would involve some pretty intensive technology, and it’s not something into which we’re putting resources at this time. Names — char names, guild names, guild tags — have always been visible in Guild Wars and in Guild Wars 2. We handle several reports a day, and we take them seriously. Submitting a ticket is just great, and I believe it will take you just a minute or two and your doing so will have very positive impact on the game.

We need:

  • Guild Name (exact spelling)
  • When possible, a character or display name of a member of that guild (this is golden for us)
  • Guild Tag (Unfortunately, we can’t review tags without the guild name OR a character or display name of a member)

It took like 30 minutes for them to show up in my account I don’t know if this is due to my posting here or reporting it as a bug or if the tp just lagged that badly. First time this has ever happened to me and hopefully the last.

We try to use 11:59 PM instead of Midnight because there is a lot of confusion about whether “Midnight” is the last minute of the old day, or the first minute of the new day. As you can see, the date was late night (11:59 PM or 23:59) Pacific time on 29 June.

So “I don’t like that name” or “I misspelled the name” or “I want to get away from former friends” isn’t sufficient reason for the changing of a Display Name.

Thanks to those of you who shared — and confirmed — that the codes are very sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed. If there are spaces, add spaces. If there are dashes, add dashes.

Sometimes I see gift cards that work when you put in a huge blob of numbers, ignoring spaces or dashes, but it sounds to me from these suggestions that the best way to add gem cards is precisely as shown.

To the OP (Rasputen): Could you please try entering exactly as shown and report your experience? If the card does not work at that point, I’d strongly encourage you to take it back to the store and request a replacement.

Gates of Maguuma
Over the smoldering fires of Lion’s Arch, a roar echoes from the west. Now, mysterious incursions into Brisban Wildlands have alerted Tyria’s heroes to a threat reaching across its frontiers to tear at its foundations. Mystery and adventure await those who go forth into long forgotten territory.

Achievements
After completing the Gates of Maguuma episode, players can showcase their tactical mastery as a hero of Tyria by completing challenging, episode-related achievements.

NEW FEATURES AND CONTENT
Introducing the Story Journal

  • Located inside the Hero panel, the Story Journal gives level 80 players the ability to play and replay unlocked episodes of the Living World, starting with Season 2. Additionally, it allows players to easily switch between Living World episodes and the Personal Story.
  • Episodes of the Living World are permanently unlocked when players log into a map with a character when an episode is the current live release. If players happen to miss this free period for an episode, it can be unlocked later for a small gem fee via the Story Journal section of the Hero panel.

Flipping does not increase any price, in fact, without flippers sell orders could be higher, if you don’t understand this, then you don’t understand how it works, plus with the gold sink it creates its actually helping reduce inflation, which is good for everyone.

yeah… no. How, in gods name, should people who buying cheap and selling expensive help keeping the prices down? It makes no sense.

When a player adds velocity or liquidity to a market, the result is often lower prices and often prices closer to equilibrium.
Given recent feedback let me try also this in other terms (I’ve tried this before and failed so bare with me).

Supply and Demand curves can also be called Willingness to Pay and Willingness to Sell curves. Essentially they are the shape of what people are willing to pay or how much people are willing to sell for. If everyone is will to pay $5 then the “demand” curve would be a flat horizontal line at $5.
In real markets the curves end up being curves because people have different preferences or costs. I might be willing to pay $100 for a new video game and you may be willing to pay $50 and yet another person $30. When you extrapolate this out you get a smooth curve of what people are willing to pay (it works the same way for the willingness to sell).

Balance (or equilibrium) occurs when those two lines meet, and people are willing to pay the same amount people are willing to sell. This price is decided by the market as a whole. Given the “freeness” of our market in GW2 people can sell for more or less than this price. In a textbook this would never happen because people always want to be in that balanced state. In real life though, especially in video games, people have different preferences outside of that market equation. Time is a major factor of this equation in real life. Imagine you could instantly sell items to a vendor for 1 gold or you could place them on the TP for 1gold 5 silver; some amount of player would be willing to sell straight the the vendor and save the time because their preference for time or convenience makes that a good trade off for them and that’s awesome, people should be allowed to make that trade off if they want. Now let’s say people instead just place everything on the TP for super cheap instead of vendoring because it’s easier. The prices these items are placed at are often placed below that equilibrium price which leaves room for someone to purchase those items and sell them at equilibrium price earning some profit per item. The person who purchases and resells values that trades and so does the individual selling easily, in this case both parties match what they want. Now the market has items placed at the equilibrium price for the standard buyers/sellers that sell at that equilibrium. Those sellers cannot change that equilibrium price and placing items above that price will result in the items not selling. They cannot raise the price, the market has decided the price and other people have decided their willingness to sell.

The first question to ask here is, “Isn’t the profit of the reseller directly equivalent to how much people are willing to trade off money for time or other preferences?”
The answer is yes, and more than that, the potential profit is split between all the different individuals attempting to buy and resell. Since the profit is finite and will become distributed between players, why wouldn’t people begin doing that until everyone only made little to no money? If everyone was the same person they would, but there must be some barrier to entry to that activity, there must be something that stops people from jumping in and distributing some of that profit to themselves. The most common and the most correct (but not complete) is that it takes time and skill, if it did not there would be almost no profit in the activity because the potential would be split between too many different individuals.

“Setting the Stage” was added post-release*, so no item rewards were assigned to it. (So players who had gone past that point in their story wouldn’t feel robbed.) So the lack of an item reward is not a big.

  • Originally, there were 3 identical versions of the DE meetup in LA (1 for each Order) but they were consolidated into a single step, which is now “Setting the Stage”
