UPDATE: We finally received an email with the code. Not sure if it was just slow process or if someone from support pulled some strings to get it to us.
I did do some further research while waiting and found an old thread where it took someone about an hour to get their code. Perhaps Anet should have a warning in the digital purchase system that there could be a delay in receiving your code.

I think your suggestion is good. Letting folks know that there is the possibility of a delay in getting the transmittal e-mail is a good idea, and I’ll see if we can add that in the future.

If you do not get a response after checking Junk Mail and Spam, I suggest you check out this thread to see if some of the troubleshooting steps will work for you.
This is not at all a common experience, but we’ve had instance of this and I feel sure that submitting a ticket will get you the help you need. So please submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page, then clicking “Submit a request” in the upper right-hand section of that linked page.
You cannot “wipe the slate clean” and start over. You will need a new serial # and a new email address.
This is correct. You could delete all your items and characters, but some achievments and accomplishments and general history would remain.
Right click the name, choose report and choose botting. This will give them access to time, server, character and everything the character is doing at that time. They can’t use a video feed (which can be faked). What they need is metrics from the Guild Wars 2 computers.
This is accurate. We review reports 24/7/365, and hundreds if not thousands of accounts are closed every month, so this is an effective system.
To add a bit more: Linking is limited, also, so that there is a sort of “cultural history” for the account and the player. It wouldn’t be appropriate to have five Guild Wars 2 accounts benefit from the accomplishments achieved on a single Guild Wars account. Just as it wouldn’t be right to have a Guild Wars 2 account enhanced by multiple Guild Wars accounts.
So Guild Wars —> Guild Wars 2 on a one-to-one basis.
Given the choice, I’d always opt for two-factor (mobile) authentication. From our perspective, so many e-mail accounts are hacked on a daily basis, and quite honestly that is more likely to happen to an individual than his/her smart phone getting stolen.
Remember, if you have two-factor (mobile) auth and you need help with it, just drop a note to Support and the team will help you sort it out.

A lot of times, we’re finding when someone submits a ticket that he or she blocked our in-bound address as spam, maybe months ago. Once we get a ticket, we often can find a way to get the e-mails to you. So please do click “Support” above and then “Submit a request” to enter a ticket.
We will get this addressed in the future. Sorry you were startled by it!
That doesn’t match up with the way the storylines are set up. If you ended up in “Stealing Secrets” after “Setting the Stage” it means the player who “owned” that instance was in the Order of Whispers. At the end, when it asks if you want to accept progress, it will show you the next story step that it will put BOTH players on. It hasn’t actually changed your order, but it’s put you on the Chapter 4 OOW storyline to keep both of you together.
The information above is correct. Your friend must buy a EU/NA version of the game to be able to play with someone in those regions.

Enabling the tempo lock on your lute quantizes all of your lute chords to a global 120bpm tempo. This allows you to not only play in-time with yourself, but also to play in time with other tempo-locked lute players’ chords as well as people playing the Musical Frame Drum.
Unlocking your tempo allows you to play your chords freely, outside of the global tempo, similarly to how the individual lute notes are played.
Recently? Two awesome moments in a single match last night – not sure why I was so tickled.
First one: fighting an engineer and warrior 1v2 on Mine. I get the engineer down, but the warrior keeps training me instead of rezzing his ally. I end up going down and start spamming my downstate #1 on the other downed engineer. The warrior starts to stability stomp me and I saw my life flash before my eyes. There was nothing I could do. Right as the stomp was about to complete, the enemy engineer uses his downstate #3, knocking me out of the stomp. I WAS HYPE! With the extra few seconds the engineer bought me I was able to dps him down, giving myself the rally. I beat the warrior shortly after and capped the point.
In the same game, I was killing chieftan and a warrior attempted to steal. I ended up downing the warrior while fighting both of them. Chieftan aggro’d the downed warrior, so I used the boss to body-block the warrior’s Throw Hammer skill. Was very kind of him. After I stomped the warrior, I apologized to Chieftan for what I was about to do, and promptly collected my 25 free points shortly after.

Kim.4152 is correct, when you authorize a location, as long as you remain inside that IP range it will not prompt you to input your authenticator again.

I know how she got her name, but did you happen to have any alternative names for Taimi (or Rox, Marjory, etc.) that you, personally, were fond of, but they ended up not being chosen for various reasons?
Braham’s original name was Dyre, but some felt that the pronunciation sounded too much like “Die, Eir” so it was changed. Considering their strained relationship, this was for the best.
Taimi has the best lines.

Angel McCoy had the names for Rox and Taimi ready to go, and we liked them so much we didn’t have to think of alternatives. Fortunately they both passed all the subsequent reviews by Editing, QA, lead writer, etc..
I remember collaborating on Marjory’s name, in that Angel had the first name locked in and I think I suggested the surname. Or maybe it was vice-versa. It was a team effort, in any case, and once we put ’em together we were happy with the result.
I’m going to refrain from listing the alternates we suggested because we might need ‘em later. During the brainstorming process for names (namestorming?), we usually generate several ideas that we like, and those we don’t use we usually put aside in case we can apply them to another character later on.
But I can say, as a huge MST3K fan, I try to avoid names that sound like they’re from the list that Mike and the ‘bots generated for the hero of the MST3K classic “Space Mutiny.” (e.g., Rip Steakface! Bulk VanderHuge!). Sometimes it’s harder than others (I’m looking at you, charr and norn).

They’re actually known as Destiny’s Orphans.
Actually, no they aren’t. That was scrapped (read: never came to canon) dialogue. Just like Arachnia or Abaddon’s Dead Children, it holds no weight in the canon story.
Confirmed: “Destiny’s Orphans” is not the official name of the adventuring group that includes Rox, Braham, Taimi, Marjory, and Kasmeer.
It was playfully mentioned in a scene between Rox and Kasmeer, but it’s not their official name.

The current cast is light years better and shows some real progress in story telling. I hope to see some really memorable work coming from the future. This is an area where the Anet team really seems to have listened to the players and made some meaningful work.

We’ve worked hard to make the PC’s best friends interesting and not cookie-cutter buddies. They’re the PC’s supporting cast, and as such, all their stories affect and reflect the PC’s story—your story.
I think the best solution is to strike some sort of a balance, but this is far more easily said than done. It means making every player feel like they are a part of the world and have had a small but measurable impact on the world, or otherwise somehow accounting for the existence of all these other heroes running around. I don’t know the best way of doing this, though.
Yes, you nailed it. I’m not sure we’ve completely figured out the best way either, but we’re getting closer all the time, and we’re always working toward that goal. Discussion threads like this help us to get a feel for how we’re doing and for what you want.

While I understand the obvious technical reasons for it, I’m still a little bothered by the fact that we’re never mentioned by name. Even as Ellen Kiel introduces us to the Zephyrite leader along with all the others, each of the NPCs is mentioned by name. The PC, however, is “And their leader.”
LOL! I know what you mean. You have no idea how hard it is to try to make that sound natural when we can’t use the PC’s name in voiced content. I could write a whole dissertation on it. Believe me, I wish we had that technology. It’s not an easy thing to create though. Quite complex, and very unlikely to ever sound natural. I think it would end up being more immersion breaking than the nicknames we use for your character now.
P.S. You may feel you don’t matter to the game world, but you do matter to us at ArenaNet.

The thread Hamster linked two appears to not directly call that issue out as a WvW-specific problem. If you are experiencing issues with lag leading to disconnects in WvW, please provide more details in this thread.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’re working on a fix.
It looks like scaling for two players can add about six or so more enemies (there are several different spawn groups that each scale up.) Although they don’t all spawn at the same time, once they defeat the NPCs they’ll tend to crowd around in one area and become a tough nut to crack.
Btw, I’m glad I’m not always the hero. There are millions of characters in the gw2 universe, it would seem rather crappy that they would all be the awesome hero who saved the universe from doom. I like being among the ranks: a commander in the pact, a faceless wanderer who joins up with some others and become the heroes of LA… It’s just a personal taste, I like being a not-so-extrordinary character who the steps up to the plate when he’s needed to.
This is a very interesting opinion since so many seem to feel the other way. We make every effort to put the player character at the center of the story because…well…it’s your story. But, I also believe that the player character doesn’t always have to be the one with the answers. Sometimes, your teammates (Rox, Braham, etc.) need to help out or risk becoming faceless flunkies. There’s a balance point, of course. Your teammates are an extension of you, living through your story with you.
Add a small indicator for gear that is used in a template (much like the rarity border).
Would be very helpful if templates used actual gear.
I guess the problem really is how do you make an all encompassing system for PVP and PVE?
The answer is you can’t there will have to be two systems as long as you want an economy in this game.
Skill and trait templates could absolutely be shared. They would just be two compatible components in the larger template system with other non-compatible parts.
The problem is making the feature approachable and easy to use when there could be SO many potential parts.

Look for them, if you choose. If not, that’s cool too.
Start small, man. Basic template it still better than no template.
Why not discuss the best possible system? Scheduling and phasing feature releases is our deal :P Plus, there’s no way we can avoid remaking the entire feature later unless we are good about scoping all possibilities.
