What if people don’t care about having longer Q times? Those who like all maps can just select them all and have a normal Q time?
I would wait 10+ min to not get skyhammer/ temple / khylo
A fair question. This is what I would speculate: Some people wouldn’t want to compromise on their map selections regardless of how bad queue times get. They then want a way to have there map filter AND good queue times. Then we have to incentivize people to play with no filters so that picky players can still have decent queue times. This is very much a slippery slope argument, but as someone posted earlier, this is what happens in WoW. While it is totally feasible, it’s far more complex to teach than a vote system.

Closing this thread as it is not a technical question and it is also a duplicate thread.
Odd concern but a real one.
The maps have far different “completion” times. By that I mean, some matches simply take longer to complete based on the map.
If you move to a “pick the map” meta, will we start to see everyone picking the map that is the fastest to play?
If people start picking maps that generally end right when rewards max, then we may just need to increase that time or rebalance rewards..
I plugged the values we have into
http://stattrek.com/online-calculator/hypergeometric.aspxAnd the results were favorable(20% Skyhammer will happen)
Unfortunately I don’t think 33% of the population will vote skyhammer 100% of the time to uphold these results.
Sociology has thoroughly proven that people will vote for whatever everyone else is voting for; If you show the results..
I’m leaning toward a Weighted system with More RNG rather then a direct democracy (For this particular feature)
Most likely its the skyhammer lovers who will throw away their votes as they are in the minority.
We can always hide other players’ votes until you have voted.
How would you do a weighted system?
I meant uneven as in the number of matches with less than 10 players.
You mention people picking maps they are built for, do you consider that a bad thing? Imagine a scenario where we have templates. Everyone would always switch to the most effective build for a given map to ensure a win. That’s what people like to do, win
As an afterthought – if it makes you feel comfortable having a ticket in you are most welcome to do so!
We’ve gotten tickets and right now they’ll do no good because we don’t have the answers we need to do anything for you. There is no need to submit and if that changes I will most certainly let you know. =)
The team is looking into this right now. Sorry for the delay.
Sounds like two parties on this idea:
Personally I’m partial to the RNG + vote because of queue times. I can just queue up and not worry about maps until the match is ready. I wouldn’t need to ever Veto a map because I enjoy them all, but my preference may change at any moment.
In a veto system, we would have to balance how many maps you can veto versus the queue times.
In a vote system, do you think people would vote for the already most-picked map to not ‘throw away’ their vote?
I’ve spoken to the WvW team and they are still investigating. I don’t have any concrete information to pass on but one of the teams (WvW or Support) will let you know when we have something to post.
For those submitting tickets hang tight. We don’t have any news yet but will certainly update you as soon as we can.
Evan , so the filter can’t be implemented because of Q times? Because if there’s a vote system it still not the player choice but the majority.. And those who love skyhammer will never get that map basically.
Filters will always impact queue times, which is very undesirable. We should avoid anything that increases queue times or effectively create more queues.
You’re recognizing the problem with majority voting, but there are ways around it. Specifically balancing randomness with player voting. A few people have mentioned having random vote options, which sounds good. It makes it so the most popular choices aren’t always available. The remaining question is: How often would the least popular map (by any amount) actually get played?
Also, please do not focus your feedback specifically on Skyhammer and why you don’t like it. There we always be a least popular map and we should take that into consideration.
The reason why ANet won’t do anything about flippers hijacking markets is because it benefits them greatly to see these higher prices. Remember that gold as a currency is tied to gems which can be purchased for real money. They hope to drive new players into purchasing gold in order to catch up which is exactly why they keep on nerfing popular farm spots.
Unfortunately this short-sighted greed is having an extremely negative effect on the game as a whole. Short of getting extraordinarily lucky a new player will have no way to ever compete on the market. They’re strangling their own game trying to squeeze a few more dollars out of it.
I don’t agree. The best result for the game and therefor the best result for ArenaNet is for the markets to work as efficiently as possible (usually). Fortunately, the nature of the trading post provides a lot of natural force for markets to work efficiently. While nothing is 100% perfect, the large majority of every part of the game’s economy runs incredibly efficiently and we put a lot of effort into making sure that they remain that way.
Do you consider the precursor and Chaos of Lyssa market working “efficiently”?
I guess quite efficient for the flippers.
I suggest you head over the BLTP forums and check out the numerous posts I’ve made about the precursor markets.

Skyhammer is only an example of a map that some people have vocalized that they like less than others. There will always be maps that people like more and less than others. What I’m trying to get from you guys is to think of how a map voting system could work with regards to all player preferences. How could we ensure that players can always get chances to play their favorite maps?
As a fan of skyhammer this feature would make me sad ;_;
Thank you for responding, as this is a very real case we would have to handle. What would make this feature work for you?
I am now a blacksmith.
We’re investigating a bug or bugs involved with delivering this tournament’s rewards to some players. We’ll update this thread when we have more information available.
We’re looking into this, thanks! It clearly has much more health than intended.
Are you suggesting an equal random between the top voted maps? What happens in this situation:
To clarify some of what was said on today’s episode. There were improvements made to the tournament between the last one and the one that wrapped up today and we believe that some of these improvements were better for the tournament as a whole.
This isn’t to say that the spring tournament was perfect and no changes will be made. Quite the contrary. The purpose of next week’s CDI will be to gather organized feedback from you guys, the players, to allow us to make better informed decisions in changes to make for the next tournament.
The best thing that you as players can do is to give informed, constructive feedback. Let us know what you think worked, what you think didn’t work and what changes you believe would make a more enjoyable tournament for everybody. Whether you believe it or not, we do care about your feedback and our goal is to make the next tournament more fun and engaging.
Please continue to discuss and give feedback in the relevant threads until the CDI thread goes live. We will be reading your feedback, both in the CDI and elsewhere. We can’t always respond and we can’t give definitive plans for the future immediately, but we are paying attention and we are taking your feedback into account.
What if you don’t care what map you play on in a vote system? Should there be a ‘pass’ or ‘vote random’?
What about the case where some people legitimately want to play on less popular maps? Would they ever get to play their favorite map?
This would be a system that provides good metrics.
Skyhammer does not have any more uneven matches than other maps last time we checked.

I’m positive I haven’t got mine yet
Nice! =)
The team is working on sending them out – I just don’t have the answers we’re looking for (I didn’t get mine yet either). Please stay positive in this thread. Thanks!
Keeping this short, there is no need to submit a ticket. Customer Support is not handling anything related to the tourney at this time. I will update if this changes.
The Tournament Rewards will be available on the Battle Historian NPC, located in all of the portal keeps, as of June 3rd.
As this is a necro thread, we are closing it.
Summary so far:
If you purchase the Mistforged version, you will also unlock the Hero’s version.
Hey folks,
Tomorrow on “Ready Up” I’ll be joined by WvW Principle QA Jessica “Wuv Doctor” Boettiger to talk about the WvW Spring Tournament, including a FAQ on the end-of-tournament rewards. See you there.

To quickly recap what you have all been saying, it looks like there are two significant groups that think they have the best solution to this issue.
The first being to scale all of the asuras up to be larger and scale down the charr and norn. The second is to turn everyone in the match into a human.
I think that there are a few things worth mentioning. The ‘generic humans from WvW’ are not like other character models in the game. They have a smaller animation set which would be unable to properly display all animations, which is exactly what the original problem is. The other thing to note is that with SAB the scaling did not make all races the same height.
Hopefully this provides some insight and can help drive discussion on more viable potential solutions.
Mistforged Hero’s weapons can either be purchased directly for tournament tickets or crafted in the Mystic Forge with:
To clarify, we had planned for the cost of Gift of Heroes to be a combination of tickets and badges, but the item will now only cost tickets. Tournament tickets will not expire.
How do I report in game when I think someone’s account has been hacked?
While at the bank area in Divinity’s reach on the black gate server. I saw two characters belonging to MOOF.3275 go from the bank but naked and straight to the market seller. After having my own account hacked over the holiday and the few hellish days afterward, I do not want to see anyone else suffer. We need a option added to the in game report function to let us report when we think an account has been hacked. I have seen another one, but they logged out before I could try and find out at least their account name.
I do not believe you can report this in the game, but you might submit a ticket. Of course, if you can contact your friend outside the game, that would be helpful, too, and we could then work with the account holder. In any case, if this player has been hacked, it’s very likely we can set him right with an account restoration once he contacts us.
The suggestion to create a new e-mail address — preferably from another provider — is very sound. Be prepared to answer account-verification questions, but we know that our players will understand why we ask them. With that info, I feel sure we can help!
I like the feedback that you’ve received in this thread. The reason that we “white list” IPs, is that we believe strongly in two-factor auth, but we don’t want to inconvenience you many, many times by asking repeatedly for you to approve your home IP.
As suggested, if you prefer to authorize, you can! Simply do not click (or uncheck) the “remember this network” box and you will be asked for authentication authorization more often.
This is a matter that absolutely cannot be resolved with a forum post. I note that you submitted a ticket. Please await a conversation with an agent, who will answer as soon as possible.
I don’t understand.. when they restore our accounts, the gold and the items transferred somewhere else will not be removed from the hacker account or from their customers accounts?
While we restore many accounts a day, we also take out hacker accounts on a daily basis. When we find the hacker, we lock down the account to prevent the use of the items and gold that the hacker stole.
So yes, we look at the accounts of both hacking victims and hackers to make sure that what the thief did doesn’t have a lasting, damaging impact on the game economy.
Is it possible? If it is I’m guessing I use the pay safe card option?
I honestly do not know this, but it seems to be that we accept Visa cards pretty much worldwide. Have you tried to make a purchase? If so, did it work or not work? If you need help or advice on how to purchase gems, please submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. Provide as much information as possible in the web form, because that will create a ticket within the support system. You are not required to provide all the information but may leave fields blank when you cannot accurately complete them. The team should be able to help you.
I cannot tell how long you’ve been in the game, but if you have questions, please feel free to submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option.
We can help. If you need access, or need us to review the possibility of an account restoration, please submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. Provide as much information as possible in the web form, because that will create a ticket within the support system. You are not required to provide all the information but may leave fields blank when you cannot accurately complete them. The team should be able to help you.
If you later need to update your ticket, simply reply to the e-mail associated with the ticket (with the 6-digit ticket number in the subject line) and provide any new information you wish to have added to your ticket.
As far as I know, you must just wait for the auto-response reply, and that will reference your created ticket number.
Good luck.
That’s exactly right. If you do NOT get the “we received your ticket” e-mail, then I might assume that the ticket for some reason did not process properly. You could submit a new one, but keep in mind that duplicate tickets will slow the process, so only submit a new ticket if you are certain that the first one did not go through.
To verify, check Junk, Spam, Deleted, and alternative “tabs” to verify that you truly did not get confirmation of the receipt of the first ticket.
Hello, my account was fully restored back to what it was before the hack. all of my gear, mats, ect are back. Took them a little over a day to investigate, got an e-mail a couple hours ago asking if i wanted my acccount restored. and got an email about 30min later saying everything was restored. Support has been amazing.
I am glad that all is well. Thanks for updating. We’re really happy to know that all is well, not just in the ticket, but on the forums, too.
See ya in Tyria!
Once you’re sure your computer and e-mail are secure, or once you have obtained a new e-mail address, please submit a ticket by clicking “Support” at the top of this page and then clicking the “Submit a request” option. The Hero’s and Mistforged Hero’s Weapons will be Rare and Exotic, respectively, and will have a variety of stat combinations to select from. You could also just use them as skins if there is another weapon you prefer to rock (ya know, for stats n’ stuff).
Smooth Penguin is correct, this is not an account issue. If you see someone in-game violating the ToS, you should use the report function in-game.
Would this work as a pre-match filter for matchmaking, or as a map vote system?
If two worlds tie, both will receive the better reward.
For example, if there are two worlds tied for 1st place, both will receive 1st place rewards. Then the next world would receive 3rd place, and so on.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. There does, indeed, appear to be an issue with the Applied Fortitude Buff and Scaling. We’re investigating.
We’re aware of how confusing it is and it is on our list.
Hello all,
Just a quick note to let you know that we still have a dedicated team working on improving the megaserver issues.
Thanks for this well thought out post!
It is our goal to ensure that WvW matchups are not only competitive, but also engaging and fun. Variety is essential.
Constructive criticism like this helps us to improve, and we look forward to bringing you the best possible version of WvW Tournaments in the future.
