Is this something only visible to you or to other players as well? It should just be a display issue; if you relog, it should display correctly.

Ok — after an extensive discussion, here’s what we’re doing: We have uncensored the names and removed the suspension. However… here’s what you need to know: If the name is reported again, it may be censored again if the agent who reviews it feels it is across the line. I personally don’t feel that Nipper is offensive at all, but there may be folks who disagree with that opinion.
I am not sure how bound you are to the names and you now have a couple of choices:
We do not do renames “upon request” but we will in some special situations, like this one.
If you wish to continue to play on the characters, you’re good to go. If you wish to rename, please submit a ticket and ask that it be escalated to me personally, so I can get involved in the rename process. (You’re welcome to include a link to this thread in your ticket, as well.)

and it’s hard to tell which one Mr. Smith is referring to, since he drops into troll mode when the conversation veers towards private information only he has.
You’re right, that response isn’t necessary. I’ve gotten a bit frustrated sometimes when I spend time to come here and talk to people and get a lot of accusations, but that’s not an excuse for having a short fuse. I apologize and will be more tolerant in the future.

The only connotation I can find for “nipper” is “a young person.” I’ve heard the expression, like “When I was a young nipper…” and it was not offensive or intended to be offensive at all. I have heard of a related word — abbreviated form, but different, in my opinion — that is very offensive for people of Japanese descent, but I don’t see that this is connected.
You have had a series of name blocks, Nipper, but I’ll investigate this and we’ll figure it out. No more use of… that other words, now, y’hear? Thanks.

The forum is not really designed as a means to immediately follow up on a support ticket. Your friend did exactly the right thing in writing up the ticket and sending it in. In most cases, the matter will be reviewed and resolved in less than a day. The second account block is interesting and a team member is looking into that.
But as a rule, posting here to say “My friend submitted a ticket” is a little premature.

No, you did not get hacked. Display Names that are in breach of the Naming Policy are changed. There is no option for a player to alter his/her user name upon request.

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed however you mention that your necro minions were causing ectoplasms. I built it specifically so that only players can draw ectoplasms off – that way rangers, mesmers, and necros wouldn’t enrage their party just by playing. I think someone in your party may have been attacking when they shouldn’t have been.
It changes pretty drastically relative to a couple of different factors (like time of day), but it doesn’t take long.
Clear out your mailbox. There’s a limit on the number of letters that the mailbox can store. Note that there’s a display bug so even if the mailbox shows as not full (X/10 letters) it’s not counting event letters and other mail that will prevent new letters from appearing.
I always think it’s hilarious when a dev/mod comes out and makes such a fallacious comment as to rule out with almost 100% certainty a bug could have been introduced with the patch….like their track record is perfect.
I think it’s hilarious when I’m looking at a million post patch salvage results and you tell me I’m wrong.
I’ve had a Guild Wars 2 account longer than I’ve had an NCsoft account. In fact, Ive been playing Guild Wars 2 for months and only decided to make an NCsoft account today. I just made one today to try out other NCsoft games. And I found I had different log ins for gw2 and NCsoft. Are they connected in any way or what.. I need this explained.
NCsoft Master Account and GW2 are not connected. And it gets even more confusing: You can have a Support Account for NCsoft games that is not the same as your game account and is also not the same as your NCMA.

Hey, I’m bumping my own posts to update: We have identified a bug with guild influence. We are working on the best resolution to this issue, and if your guild was impacted — and I’m sorry but I just cannot tell right now if this situation would apply — we will remedy that with a replacement of influence.
Again, I cannot say for certain that this situation aligns with the new bug. Quite honestly I don’t know that the bug involves cancelling upgrades. But overall, the devs are on it! Your guild leader may submit a ticket to Support to discuss this situation with the team.

Hey all,
We made some very intentional changes to the way we calculate loot. One of the effects of this change is that there is more loot dropping in WvW. Yay! Increasing the loot in WvW was one of our goals and we’re glad that it’s making some of you happy. Also, just to be sure that we were comfortable with the impact it had on loot in WvW we had our economist do some analysis of the drop rates in WvW after this patch. After looking at his results we’re still comfortable with the changes. On a personal note, I was very happy to get a much better badge drop rate when I played yesterday

This item was not updated at all. That is, it was updated to include more colors, but it was not changed in the main coding, so I can’t see of any reason how this would have been misplaced or taken out of the inventory with the build.

Keep in mind that there are several events that need to be completed before he spawns, so camping out at his spawn point won’t tell you anything.

While we won’t be implementing a retroactive design solution for players who were affected by this issue, I’ve spoken with our Customer Support Team, and if you received a rifle from the box before it was fixed, they recommended that you open a Support Ticket so that they can follow-up on a solution with you.

Yes they should drop like a stone with all the rares from world events, but I’m on an epic run of 0 ectos from master salvage kits atm. I hate RNG.
I’m not sure it’s RNG… I have a run of 1 ecto from 25 uses of BLK’s… that has a chance of:
0.000003% chance of happening… seems unlikely it’s due to RNG. I think they may have nerfed ecto drop rates to compensate for the increased drops. So ecto prices might not plummet as much as I originally thought.
Lets start this train early with this patch. We did not nerf ecto rates of any kind, we’ve never nerfed ecto rates, if we change ecto rates, it will be in the patch notes I promise you.
PS. Your math is incorrect, salvages are independent statistical events.

I do document the changes. I am not in charge of the patch notes – that’s someone else job, and they decided that the patch note wasn’t worth including. Keep in mind we have to translate these things, and there could be several reasons it was not included, from budget to time constraint. I am working with the people who write the patch notes though, to not drop off as many as they have been lately for dungeons.
We had them in story before launch, but what we found is that we couldn’t strike a balance between the amount we give for completing story mode, and the difficult difference. Our feedback was that rather than face the challenge of Explorable dungeons, high skill groups would just afk faceroll the much easier story mode content for the guaranteed smaller token amount. We tried several things, but couldn’t strike the balance, so we removed tokens from story mode as a reward and put them into explorable mode only as a reward.
Yeah, there’s a few bugs I was grappling with that we thought got fixed – there something weird with the FPS that seems to have to do with shaders (investigating), but aside from that the only issues I’m seeing are with Detha and the Ghost Eater. We were seeing some of the same problems with the traps, and I was fixing them as much as I could – but it seems I didn’t fix them up good enough. her getting stuck and the traps sometimes not firing are known things – try leading GE out of the trap and then back into it – that might help for the time being.
And… well… Detha is Detha, lol. I’ve been at it trying to fix her, but the issue where she doesn’t start rebuilding the traps isn’t 100%, and we’ve not been able to get a solid repro.
As for things players feel the spy kits were necessarily to get through, we’re watching the feedback and will make sure to give them some extra QA attention to ensure they are in line with what we want players to experience.
All new stuff in dungeons is going to be hard for the first few days. We see it all the time with new content – people fail and get knocked down when they aren’t used to that sort of thing, and they claim it is too difficult.
Give it a week or so for everyone to develop strategies, learn encounters, and build fundamentals, and they will claim it is too easy. Trust me when I say this, the numbers are punishing (but less than they were before), but knowing the mechanics will greatly mitigate the danger.
For those upset about the changes I made to Food items that life steal on crit, and the spy kit, here’s some words:
Spy Kits: permanent stealth at the cost of karma isn’t good. It’s practically exploitative since it’s a pay-karma-to-win scenario, and it needed to change. We test all of our dungeon content without the use of external items to make sure it is all capable of being completed. This has led though, to a recent surge in players using items from the open world in dungeons to trivialize content or outright break bosses designed to present a specific challenge to a five man group.
Food item life steal on crit Cooldown: The best heal in the game can’t be 100 blades or other similar attacks. If you want to play a glass cannon, there should be danger involved, and the food buff mitigated the danger and allowed glass cannons to stand and trade blows without having to utilize their own heals or dodge rolls. They could just stand still and win – and that’s not the type of dynamic combat we want for our game. We test our content without the food buffs to ensure they are capable to players without access to them, and make sure the balance is good enough for players who don’t have those buffs. There are a lot of other viable food buffs in the game, and this one food buff meant a core few items were dominating all the others.
For those also thinking I went rogue and did this, I went through all the checks and balances, and discussed the changes with leads. While I do have the power to change dungeons, things that affect the world outside of dungeons is handled through meetings to make sure everyone is on board with a proposed solution.

Also, this thread will not lead to a constructive discussion. Therefore, it will be locked.
If you witness suspected behaviour in game that could be violations of the in-game Rules of Conduct, please do not post these reports on the forum, as we’ll have to remove them. Any in-game misbehaviour should be reported via the in-game report tool or through the ticketing system to our Customer Support Team with all required details such as screenshots, videos etc…
The rules in the WvW section also apply to this section.

There’s nothing I can say that will change any minds—but I did say that the staff had an extremely low drop rate, and we did just boost the odds of rare items appearing at the end of large events. Congrats to those who got one!

There is a current problem with Guild Bounty Missions and they are not functioning correctly.
We would advise guilds not to spend the influence to speed up the process to unlock the Guild Bounty Missions until such time that we are able to fix this error. We will keep you updated in this thread with regard to that fix.
