We are aware that there currently is an issue with receiving guild recommendations when you guest for a chapter of your guild on another server, we are working on a solution as this is not an intended behavior.

General Guidelines:
- Take a screenshot with your mouse hovering over the minimap while it’s zoomed all the way in so we can see the sector name. Make sure your screenshot has a clear view of the issue too!
- If you got stuck, please describe to us what you were doing before hand, along with a screenshot (this includes listing any skill you may have used upon being pushed inside the terrain).
- If you can, open up the screenshot in a picture editor (like MS Paint) and circle or point to the issue.
- If the world or large areas of land appear to “pop” in and out or “flicker,” please be sure that you are facing the appropriate direction in your screenshot and follow the screenshot directions.

General Guidelines:

- List the names of every piece of armor/clothing/weapon equipped (this includes the level requirement) when you encountered the issue

Note on clipping issues: While we understand the desire to have all clipping issues resolved, the way our items are designed sometimes causes some small issues that cannot be fixed easily. We’re looking for severe clipping (like your shield is impaling you or your daggers are completely hidden by your coat.) Things like hair clipping or minor clipping of weapons into armor are sometimes unavoidable.
Please attach the screenshots to your forum post rather than hosting it elsewhere.

If you complete both targets you’ll receive the merits from the mission, which can be used to unlock more mission types (and rewards from those missions).
I’m looking into why some of the bounties don’t appear to be scaling normally. They might just need more health in general, given that many of them live in low-level zones.

I don’t want to speak in absolutes. The new colours were added this time; similar additions may also appear in existing (purchased, in inventory) kits in the future. However, there may be additions that are not offered in the kits. That is, a kit purchased in 2013 may not have as many components as a kit purchased in 2014.
Sorry I can’t be more specific, but things change as time passes. I prefer not to comment in such a way that it could be seen as a “promise” for the future.

Sending gold should be no problem, but if you are not sure, why not ask support. There you could mention the 2 accounts involved and you might get a waiver for such an transaction.
There are some limits ingame, but I guess a character who has 100 gold has no more limits active.
The devs aren’t really manning this board. Gaile isn’t a dev and she may not be able to respond, but what Michael said is the same as what she will say. If you want a fast response, asking support is the fastest way.

Please do not write Support to ask “What if” sorts of questions. Many people who do this are (1) RMT trying to figure out the means of detecting their transactions , or (2) legitimate players who have nothing to worry about.

The issue with laurels is now corrected. While we looked into the possibility of replacing daily rewards that were lost as a result of this issue, it’s not possible for us to do that due to technical limitations.
We’re sorry that you may have missed a few laurels but are happy to confirm that moving you will be getting your reward chests for future daily achievements.

Over last couple days we’ve seen more dev posts on this forum than past 3 months altogether. We really appreciate every post Tyler and Evan made.
My question is, can we expect this level of communication with PvP community to keep up? Or are you doing this just to calm us down a bit, after last patch nearly caused riots, and we’ll be back to usual silence soon enough?
Former would of course be preferred, and I’m pretty sure community’s attitude towards devs would quickly improve if you were to keep it up.
I believe it will be a little of both. Because of how our workflow is setup, right before and after a patch we sometimes have more time to post. Between patches, we’ll all be very busy. We’re always trying to find ways to improve our communication. I’ve been trying to spend more time in HotM to make sure there is some dev presence during primetime.

Thank you for the reports! After investigating the issue, we’ve found a bug: the daily/monthly progress for the Southsun JPs aren’t resetting, so you won’t be able to do them for the daily achievement if you did them previously.
We’re investigating a solution for the issue, but in the meantime, other JPs should still count for progress on the achievement. Sorry for the bug!

This is a performance optimization. People who are too far away from you do not show up in the world. PvP is a special case because you always want to know about your teammates. Is this something that is coming with the rumored culling patch next month where we can tweak it in options? Honestly I never had a problem seeing people on my team until recently… not sure if I am just being more observant so I have no idea how long it has actually been like this.
No. What you’re seeing in PvP is people going outside the maximum range we’d ever tell you about a player. That range almost covers everything in sPvP maps, but not quite. In any case, it is a different problem than culling.

What is your current story step objective? There’s a group of NPCs with you (based on who you helped in Chapter 5) so rushing ahead can be overwhelming.
One thing people are forgetting – if you delete your characters, you are also deleting the bank. So, anything you had put into the bank, including coin, would be lost when the characters are deleted.
You retain the back, because it is account-bound and not character- or soul-bound.

Linked accounts do share a common password. If you do not own GW, or did not link GW with GW2, then they may have separate passwords, depending on what you chose to use.

We will be adding a feature that allows you to change your character’s name quite soon. This will be offered through the Gem Store, or the Black Lion Trading Company.
We do not have plans to offer a feature for changing an account’s display name, but that may be offered in the BLTC in the distant future. No promises, I’m just noting that it may come down the line (or may not).

As mentioned above, I don’t have an ETA for when this will hit Live, sorry.
I’m looking into the bug right now, it appears that occasionally the escort pre-req can go into a weird stasis state where it’s started but the escort event isn’t running, which will stop the Behemoth from appearing. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to reproduce the bug, though I’m doing what I can to prevent Brenda from stalling out.
Curiously, is this also necessary when reporting them ingame while doing the problematic story quest?
If it’s an in-game bug report, the exact story step and your location are included automatically, though it helps a lot if you include the name in the description so I don’t have to look up all the external info. And for forum reports, of course, I need the story step name or I have to guess where you’re running into the bug.
If you add the possibility of taking critical hits to the LA dummies (i dont know why they dont atm) then they would do fine.
The dummies in LA are probably like turrets and walls in that they can’t be crit have have conditions.

First, we need to solve the problem of people leaving before the game begins, its simply a flaw in our roster design. Then we need to determine a suitable punishment for people who leave during a match, and do not return.
On top of these, it sounds like some people are describing a bug forcing 4v5’s. We do not know what would be causing this or whether it is a new problem or not. It’s hard to tell when there are multiple ways a team could be missing members.
To clarify, bugs take higher priority over features like custom arenas. However a punishment system is a feature that takes considerable more time, and must be weighed against our current features plans. We always have the option to re-prioritize just like we did with matchmaking.

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: Our QA teams test the dungeons at the dungeon level, and at 80. They test it with different ranges of gear, and different people. I’ve watched non-QA groups do similar things, under various conditions. We have a review process.
Will 80’s have an easier time? Sure. They have more tools to use and more experience with the class. Our side-kicking system is something we are working on too, to ensure that things remain challenging for those folks and that their gear doesn’t make all the difference.
Will we ever release a video of our internal testing process? Highly doubtful. Just as I doubt we will ever post the builds, classes, and gear our testers test with.
One thing we see frequently with at-level people going into dungeons, is that while their character is the right level, their gear is often 10+ levels behind them. When you combine a low average gear level, not having all your skills/tools available, and not being as experienced with the class, it’s going to be significantly more difficult than what an 80 makes it look like.
We build dungeons for at-level players, and then reduce the strength of higher level players to bring them more in line with the players at that level. We do not balance for 80’s sidekicked down to at-level.
I’ll throw out feature wise, many of the things we’ll be doing feature wise across the first half of 2013 are typically the type of features you’d likely only see in a paid expansion traditionally. We’re really excited about the opportunity to be able to do that for Guild Wars 2, and think there is something really compelling in that experience, which is really the only message we wanted folks to take from all of this. March will of course continue this tradition of free releases, major features, and of course the growth of living story as we expand its role in Gw2.
All of that being said, this is exactly why we try and avoid talking about stuff until it’s ready, if we say something early and it ends up not ending up exactly what people expect, it doesn’t work out for anyone. Saying something like “expansions worth of content” means different things to everyone, and is nearly an impossible goal to meet expectation wise since everything expects something different, which is a big part of why marketing stepped away from that plan very quickly after asking us to use it when speaking to the press/fans.
I imagine it’ll still get quoted until the end of time, but hope that helps explain where it came from, and what to expect. Just to re-iterate the post I made back in January:
“To set expectations accordingly, the January release will be a relatively small release that sets the table for the stories and features we plan to roll out with the Feb/March releases and beyond. Also, there will be no new race, profession, or new region with these larger Feb/March releases. One of our major goals with these releases is making our existing world as strong as possible, ensuring there are reasons to go to all the locations in the world we’ve already built, and strengthening the core game we’ve provided. In saying this will be an expansions worth of stuff in these releases, we’re talking about the number of new features that will be rolled out across PvE, WvW, and PvP in early 2013, which usually you’d only find in an expansion for a traditional MMORPG.”
