Well jokes on him we won 500-180, atleast i had most dmg and offence in my team :P

So this is likje the 4th player that whisps me during unranked telling my how kittenty i am. I play casually and i find this game PvP to be very dificult, but enjoyable when you meet ppl at your skilllvl. I find warrior to me my most “succsesful” class However today i met a guardian who seemsed to know what he was doing. I wouldt go down easy.
At one point i managed to kill him and he whispers me how bad i am at warrior and so on and so on. It wasnt really trolling even just a passive aggresive tone like he was actually serious.

Not that i really care. I know i suck hence why im in unranked. But I mean is this how the PvP community is in Gw2?

Ive always juggled between guardian and warrior since gw2 started and asked the same question. Guardian or Warr and people has always told me Guardian due all the things they bring to the table. And yet i always come back to my warrior :P

Yepp noticed to, not at first then i noticed something was wrong and it became really anoying. Hope it gets fixed.

The playstyle isn’t bad, but I just wish it had more damage and better bursts. Having crappy burst feels like it goes against warrior design.

I know right, i had some satisfying crits with nr 4 i believe? maybe put that skill on ammo? atleast that would be somewhat of a burst. But burst dmg should come from a skill called BURST dmg :P

After some more testing I have to admit, a slight dmg buff would be a welcome :P

Yeah im not trying to justify its bad dmg. Im just so tired of berserker and wanted something fresh, hence why i might still roll with dagger. I never raid and do fractals anyway

So now during stresstest ive been able to give SB another try, and i must say. The soundseffects, visuals from the daggers, and feels sorta fast, I might actually World PvE with these. Sure the dmg is very lacking compared to like Axe, and i only play power cause i dont own any condi gear. So i wouldt mind if they got buffed or something.

But yeah these dagger might grow on me. Even for a PvE scrub :P

I forgot to mention i also PvE mostly, im curious what spot Thief has in PvE encounters besides World PvE

Ive been struggling to find a class i can main since like gw2 came out, ive been playing on and off since then. So yesterday i created a Charr Thief cause i like the fantasy of a Thief cat.
Anyway ive tried thief on 80, and i feel like they die easier than a zerker guardian, but dont kill as fast as other zerker classes. Also yesterday i tried Metabattle builds. And boy conquest pvp, or spvp what you wanna call it. I died freaking instantly. Im not sure how to learn thief when i never get the chance to like do any real PvP. It feels like the rest of the pvp community are lightyears ahead in skills.

I want to make thief work cause they got cool abilities etc, but as a kitten player it does seem like the classic warrior is the only choice :/ even tho i feel like they die easy to :/

I never got the chance to try firebrand during the beta weekend. And atm im struggling to decide what to play in PoF.
Im mainly PvE so at first i thought spellbreaker looked cool but then i heard its lackluster in PvE compared to Berserker. Then i thought Soulbeast looked cool but heard mainly bad thing about that aswell.
Firebrand looks cool aswell but i only have Zerker gear and no condi gear at all.

So im curious in terms of dmg and PvE capabilites. What does the firebrand do? Dmg? Support?

To be honest, i dont see much point of running in general pve, may be some boss fight/raid/dungeon, other than that, spell breaker offers no damage increase over berserker.

Axe raw damage is much higher than daggers and spell breaker offers no benefit to condition damage.

Yee i was afraid of that kinda tired of that tbh, hence why i was hoping for something fresh :P

At first i was so excited to see all the cool sound effects and animations on Spellbreaker reveal, then it seemed very PvP heavy oriented?
Im not sure tho since im not that cunning when it comes to guild wars and not PvP focused i wonder how the dmg is in PvE? If its even worth roaming around with daggers and zerker geared.

So ive played with Zerk gear since the start in PvE, id like to tryout Condi warrior to just try something else and use aother weapons.
Now when i looked at gear it said Vipers on Metabattle for Raid PvE i dont raid so idont know if its good.
But i couldt find vipers on Black Market, is there another piece of armor i could get for a good build?

Also im curious is condi warrior any good?

Im fairly noob at this game, i do have a few 80s but i play so casualy that i cant consider myself a good player even tho i have played since the start. Im considering Ranger, ive tried light armor classes also thief but since i suck i die instantly.

Now im curious what role Ranger fit in Pve and Spvp (i havent tried WvW) ive seen videon on rangers doing good Condi dmg but maybe thats not a viable spec.

Would like some opinions from experienced rangers

So i just got back to this game, after i got burned out from WoW and all that. Figured i finally pick up those cool armors for my guardian to play around with the Wardrobe, and i noticed that none of those i wanted are there

Now why i cant possibly imagine, why is it?
Also will they ever return in the future?

I found all the intresting armor to play around with was on that gemstore. I wont buy outfits cause i cant make my char personal.

So i love how thief look animations and their weapons etc etc. However ive never really mastered the class. I just went with zerk gear cause that what you where supose to do back in the day. BUT. ive played this game quite alot but only very casualy so when playing thief i die die die die out in the wilds. Is there any spec out there thats decent in both the killing and survival :P

So im thinking of coming back to GW2 due being tired of everything else i guess and its free. But im pretty casual and thought id try something else. Now how are Eles in PvE and PvP also im not really good at this game. hacing a hard time with mechanics. How are eles for casuals?

So i havent tried GW in a loooong time. I know its not a treadmill MMO and thats what im used to but how do you find motivation and where? Since you dont grab gear for anything other than skins and most skins seems to be with real cash or in game money. But what do you do with all the time in the game?

I want to find this motivation cause i think gw2 is a pretty cool game.

Save your celestial avatar form for when you need to wipe a bunch of conditions, or when you need to Daze the enemy team. When you enter CA form decide what you want to do. Your main Skills are 3, and 4.

• Cycle between 3 and 4 to heal allies and daze enemy.
• Cycle between 2, 3, and maybe 4 if you are fighting condi users on point.
• Pop skill 5 near downed foe, or if you see enemy approaching 10% health, the final pulse will usually down them. You can also use it do finish off a bunch of minions.

With GS, focus on landing skill 2. Spam auto-attack when fighint another on point (keep moving). Save skill 3 for quick evade and attack, save 4 for longer block and attack. Pop skill 5 if they turn their back or side. It’s hard to land sometimes.

With SW/T, focus on laying the fire field early and throw torch is your main condi damage, but a little slow, so find the right time to use it. Sw 1 auto attack is severely underestimated by most enemies. If you can get quickness, you can burst down opponents really fast. I find alot of newer players will start to smash you when you open up with SW1 auto attack. It’s usually a free kill.

Start SW1 auto attack chain -> pet swap to Bristleback (grants quickness) -> f2 -> continue auto attack

It’s nothing fancy but will get the job done, if they don’t move/evade.

Yeah i will try these specs I did see a ranger with LB and staff that kicked my kitten , could just be that i sucked. But ive tried PvP not for awhile since i came back and ive lost every match, littlerly every, i usually had like 50/50 winloose. Could it be season is coming and people are just preparing. Cause atm everyone seems “Pro” and the battlefield is just a clusterkitten with stuff going on :P

Hey there. Don’t listen to the advice about using LB, and some of the builds on Meta Battle are not optimal for Druid and will give you a bad day, as I am sure you have already seen. Many people will disagree with me, but I will leave you with these things to consider.

1. Druid is the elite spec. and is the most powerful trait-line (by far)
2. Stay away from LB because there are too many blocks, reflects, and evades that others can use to mitigate your damage (which isn’t that high to begin with).
3. Stay away from LB because staff will deal more damage over time (it’s auto attack can’t be reflected and pulses 3 times so is bound to land a hit or two)
4. Choose a build that you can last on point with. It’s a point capture game, so if you can’t survive on point, or long enough to revive an ally under pressure, your role is limited and you will feel like you can’t do the things others can (because you can’t!)

Rom and Argi have a really good sense for how Druid/Ranger works. I like the paladin greatsword build they have.

It just seems like if you dont excel in this game you miss out on huge part of the game. I dont say that you should hand out content for free just like that. But i dont really find a middle ground. could be the game design and i just dont fit right in, wich is a shame cause its a good game.

As the title says, i kinda like spvp and my win/loss ratio is about 50/50 i would say, im not worst but far from the best. And i wanted to try out this new league. I figured hey im not that bad so i give this a try. 10 matches and 10 losses later I gave up.

So what about PvE then? Well I just cant get good at Fractals and dungeons, so im not even gonna try Raids.
Ive never experienced a game where my casual gameplay have hurt my experience so much :P

So does my mediocrity ruin the game for me?

Im thinking of getting my first Ranger to 80, ive played some PvP and quite liked it. I win some and loose some. But how are they really in PvP and PvE?
I usualy PvP with guardian and people say they rock but i kinda struggle.
How many viable PvP specs are there? Ive been told that condi builds sucks and so on.

Im a casual PvP player 99% Spvp and i get most classes some im having a hard time but thats because lack of skill. But with rev i dunno could be the lack of skill, but i just dont know how they are supose to be played :/
Any good guides out there that could clarify or something :P I just seem to instantly die:/

Ive always loved Thief animation and such, im having trouble in PvE cause i suck so hard with them cause they are squishy sure my guardian are squishy to but i can handle that with aegis and such.
With Thief i just die die die.
But PvP seems fun and i want to be good at it, but i dont know wich weapons and build to use that would suit me.
Any tips? Thief feels like the hardest class to play as :P

In PvE ive only been able to just unlock the DH so i cant speak how well it plays with dmg with Zerk gear adn such.

But ive been trying it in PvP, im not a hardcore pvp player but i cant really find a spec that works and sorta find a wep combo for the bow that suits it, i dont really know the place for DH. Sure ive been able to use spear to drag people into my traps.
I dont seem to do enough dmg to make a diffrence really.

I have to agree with op, traps are very very pvp oriented imo, as DH you want to stay as far away as possible yet you can only meele trap wich means traps are useless in PvE, unless very certain situations. I can see their value in PvP, not so much in PvE :/ Wich is a shame, they look great

So when it comes to PvP i mostly play spvp, what build can i use that involes gs and something else.
Im not pro so i need something that can still keep me alive.

So ive never played Necro before. But when i saw 2h sword and Reaper i fell in love instantly, just the way the spells looked and animations and so on. However ive read some pretty bad stuff about necro but since i have never played necro before i dont understand all of it.
Also I mainly play PvE.
But the idea was to start leveling a necro before expansion

But from what ive understand, these World masterys or what they where called, seemed more gimicy or some fun little perk lite gliding or something, It didt feel like it had a real impact on your character in how you play him/her etc. Since we didt get more skill slots or whatever to spice things up im curious how this expansion is gonna feel like an expansion and not a big patch. I dunno i want to stick to this game so bad, but there i just that little thing that keeps me from playing long sessions :P

So I love Gw2 for the casual gameplay that suites me and when i feel like it i can try the harder stuff and feel rewarded when i succed,. However, I only play short sessions because there are some things that is pretty dull (atleast to me) And thats, stats and special effects.

Do you guys think we are gonna see some kind of new stats? Higher? Or new runes or something that changes the way we play to spice things up? Right now i can get exotic geared in 1 min once i hit 80. I know the reason why people like it, to me however it somewhat lacks depth.

But enough of that im just curious if we are gonna see something diffrent with this expansions. Tbh the Reaper is enough to make me buy HoT :P

Sup Avipt. Have you tried Shoutbow or Hambow? Those are supportive in their own way. It could be that you’ve been going against really tanky classes in those matches and in those cases you have to make sure that you always land your poison from Sigil of Doom. That’s a hard feat to accomplish consistently, but with practice you’ll nail it like it’s second nature. I think it’s brilliant that you watched some youtube videos to learn different specs. Watching other practiced players is def one of the best ways to learn the game.

Also, even though it might sound cliche, I think it’s good to keep the mentality of not relying solely on skills/traits to give you the advantage in fights. Like, “Oh here comes a condi necro I got CI I got dis,” No I need to be active with my movement anyway and using the terrain/objects to negate damage. Good players will take advantage of you if you get carelessly comfortable.

Thanks man! GS is in the most specs ive seen, but I dont find it to be my best friend, charge miss most of the times and puts me in crazy positions, same with whirlwind skill, throws me off ledges and stuff, and 100b miss, not very noob friendly wep :P

So ive just started with spvp for the first time and ive noticed that my warrior hits like a wet noodle on people, ive tried diffrent spec from youtube, I dunno i understand the basics of the game when it comes to pvp but ive like 9 out of 10 so far. I just cant contribute to the team. Is this a warrior thing or do i just plain suck?

Im lvl 45 atm and havent started with crafting, if i go with 2 crafting now, how many levels will i get from 1-400 per proffesion?

Im in no way skilled at this game, never tried Ranger before, i just thought it looked cool Sword and dagger had pretty sweet animations

So ive played around now with a few weps and i find shortbow and Sword dagger to be a cool thing, and as i understand it involved condition, would it work to level with condition?

So ive never really played a ranger, i like the medium gear and the gameplay looks fun However cant decide between these two racer, wich one should i pick and why?

Yeah i mean ive had the game for a very long time but never played any long sessions so ive only been able to gather zerk and played with that, but its hard to enjoy the game when mobs in dungeons one hit you, with warriors its a bit more forgiving but i just like guardians visuals.
