Leeching Bolts don’t heal your in Shroud either, last time I tried.
Wonder how many times GOON is gonna get sold.
It’s a rare drop from anything in the zone. I’ve gotten one from hyleks, from jaguars, from raptors. Of course now that I need one, can’t find it.
Oh, but there is an upside. Only one person on the map needs to find one, once the doors open anyone can go in there. So just keep bugging the map about it.
Nah, we’ll just do it with 9 people. It’ll just take a bit longer.
Hmm, maybe your mouse is clicking too fast. Do you have some sort of auto-repeat happening on the clicks? Or maybe the mouse is just getting old and is triggering a ton of clicks on each click?
The city of Tarir is the last fortification of an ancient magical race, besieged by the very jungle it resides in. Head out the west gate and help a skritt prepare a feast fit for her Shiny King.
Back in the good old days of a few weeks ago, small groups or even solo players had a valuable function in WvW: preventing dolyak travel to stop keep and tower upgrades. With the current map, this is no longer possible because everything auto-upgrades on a timer anyway. What would be good would be a slight return to the old system: camps can continue to auto-upgrade, but make towers and keeps require a certain number of dolyaks to upgrade.
Since misterdevious was so good to lay out the current state of the timers in this post we can see that it takes 30 minutes for stage 1, 2 hours for stage 2, and a full 6 hours for stage 3 upgrades. The current system has successful dolyak entries reducing that time by 5 minutes, and the yaks arriving every 2 minutes and 30 seconds, give or take for the various keeps (Earth Keep has 4 yaks reaching it with various timings). So to get to full upgrade we divide 6 hours by 7 minutes 30 seconds (which is how much time is taken by the yak, plus the five minutes it takes from the keep timer) = 48 yaks. If you get 48 yaks into your keep, it upgrades to full (and it only takes 2 hours if you only have one yak source). Earth keep is even faster because it has the potential for 4 yaks. Right now the fire and air keeps don’t get a southern yak for some reason. Now, 48 might not be the right number because this will throw the system into imbalance, but it replicates the current state of affairs more or less.
So, tl;dr: To modify the current system, make it required for 48 yaks to reach a keep before it upgrades to stage 3. Solo roamers will have a much more valuable presence on the borderlands., being able to stop upgrades. It will force a lot more fighting into the yak routes and camps will become even more tactically important.
I’ve been using Carrion gear with Rabid accessories on my Reaper. It seems like a good mix of damage and sustainability. You get the extra crit chance you lose out on from Decimate Defenses.
Something that has been bugging me since I started playing Guild Wars 2 is the fact that so little of history is recorded or seemingly remembered. It is most egregious now with Tarir being ‘over one hundred years old!’ as if that is somehow…old. I mean, the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Mary in Cologne, Germany is almost 1000 years old, and we have detailed records of its construction and information about it. Tarir is young enough that most people’s parents or grandparents should have been alive during its construction. Now I get that it was done in secret by a particularly over-the-top secretive race, but still it seems odd to me when all the Priory researchers are oohing and aahing about something ‘over 100 years old!’
I’m okay with this. I mean, I already know what blyat looks like in Cyrillic so that means I’ll know 75% of the words I see in map chat.
Human starting zone has some, I think.
Aren’t the Embroidered legs pants? Puffy genie pants, but pants.
I’m curious if people have set up special looks for their future Reapers.
I ‘m not going to use this color scheme but it’s a nice possibility:
“I was taken from the battle, neither truly alive, nor truly dead, an undying shadow, in a world of lights.”
I name my spiders Anansi and Arachne.
Grenth, being the god of Ice and Death, will probably be available in the wintertime again.
Race you want to see in the next BWE as Rev?

Something got corrupted I guess? When I tried to run the -repair option, that crashed too. It is redownload time?
The colors used to rotate…maybe they forgot to re-add that functionality.
I run to catch up with the rest of my group, so we can all turn and smash you. Xv1 all day erry day.
I will never follow ele commander.
(JQ in-joke)
See, everyone is so sure Scarlet is trying to wake up a Dragon. But given that our other option was about Abbadon, I think Scarlet is going to wake up the only other being who might know more about magic than she does. Margonites incoming.
650, after I sold a Spark that dropped for me. Quickly returned to my standard 10 gold though.
Loaves of Saffron Bread, that -20% damage while disabled has saved my bacon so many times.
Also, people in Frostgorge mention that there are several Claws of Jormag. Tequatl, though, is unique, as you never actually kill him even when you kill him, he just dives back into the water.
I’ve been on my T1 server since Beta 2 so I am fine with this…
.But hey, I’m a polyglot Belgian. I just try to accommodate. No one in the world knows my mother tongue, no one even bothers.
Vlaams?
(I don’t speak it.)
Another mathematics lesson for you all.
The mathematical principle that governs probabilities in these situations is called the law of large numbers. It basically states that given ‘enough’ attempts, the number of successes vs. failures will balance out to their expected probabilities, in this case, 0.9 ectos per rare salvaged. Now, OP, I know 7 is a lot of your fingers, but you have to count a lot higher before you can say things like ‘rates are nerfed’. Try at least 200. I could calculate what the cutoff on trials is to get 95% confidence on any change in the rates but that would require me to dig out my statistics textbook…
You (the OP and the others agreeing with them) are the people casinos LOVE.
“This guy just rolled two dice 6 times and didn’t come up 7 or 11 on any of his rolls! Clearly he is ‘on fire’ and I should bet he won’t this time.”
“This guy just rolled two dice 6 times and didn’t come up 7 or 11 on any of his rolls! Clearly he is ‘used up’ and I should bet he will crap out this time.”
These are both examples of the gambler’s fallacy, and they are both wrong. To the guy who said “rare prices are below ecto prices” they should be, because the expected return is .9 ectos per rare. In fact, most rares are, gasp, 90% of the costs of an ecto. Shocking how the market can make right decisions when it’s users can’t.
I am very sad. This fight is like fighting Lupicus with even less room for error, with way more people. You have to have 50+ people who can handle putting out massive dps while not being hit by pretty much any waves (which knockdown and back, preventing DPS during that time) to have the first chance of winning. Then you need 6 lagless people to run turrets because even a second of not firing 2 on cooldown will allow Tequatl’s stacks to rise, leading to a Bone Wall and another massive DPS loss, besides the buffing the DPS zerg and keeping poison clouds off them so they can DPS without repositioning every 5 seconds.. Then you need teams to protect those turrets. A team to clear fingers is also nice. And that’s just to get through phase 1.
My ideas for retuning this fight:
1) Tequatl slows down on building Scale stacks just a bit. Give the laggier people a chance on those turrets. Would help with an AFKer on a turret as well.
I actually think this is probably the only thing that needs to be adjusted. We can do the dps if we don’t have looming Bone Walls over our heads. Just have to get people to stack and dodge properly.
I think they did a behind-the-scenes server upgrade. Impressive that they could do that with the game running, distributed servers for the win.
Pretty funny to see BG and JQ paying guild to join their servers.
Poor guys.I have yet to see anything more than rumor and speculation that guilds were ever paid to join a server.
There is a difference between helping a guild (who in all likelihood was going to transfer anyway) get all of it’s members over by donating/loaning gold to them and outright paying them gold to transfer to a server.
How about we deal with facts, supported by real evidence, rather than this crap that’s going around lately?
I’ve talked to a friend. The guild got 100% paid.
Ok, that’s great, I’m sure your “friend” has loads of “inside information”. How about some screenshots or have a guild leader swing by here to confirm?
This isn’t a court of law. I’ve also been told directly by a guild that they were offered gold to move.
I’ve been told directly that aliens and ghosts are real.
I thought the “paying guilds” troll had run it’s course when we used it on Sea of Sorrows back in the day. Define “paying” for one thing, are we handing over tons of gold, exotics, precursors this time? Throwing in a Twilight or two? Or are you referring to helping a guild buy influence to rebuild on a new server, because that only makes sense and fosters a stronger community, something SoR always likes to pride itself on. Because that isn’t “paying” a guild by a long shot.
I have two pieces of armor that I could have swore was Berserker that is now Valkyrie. But I’m not sure so I don’t feel right making a ticket about it (I had that armor in my bank a while and haven’t used it in months).
This has happened to me. There are multiple servers you are connected to when you play Guild Wars 2: you can be connected to the game server and be able to play, but not to the server that controls the guild and keeps track of guild membership. When you zone it will reattempt to connect to the other servers.
One is the PvE version, the other is the sPvP version.
You can buy a Belcher’s Bluff table from most vendors that sell alcohol. Then you can play with friends or people in Lion’s Arch to get the achievements again.
Has anyone heard anything when it will be back up?
Nope. Still down for me, slowly loosing hope.
Patience, my young apprentice. Soon the Trading Post will be back up, and the Glacial Cores will come to you.
I think the buffs stay on your for a brief period after running from a tower or camp with them but I haven’t really paid attention or timed it.
Considering the hard counter to ranger’s Beastmastery trait line is “use AOEs” I just cannot feel bad for Thieves.
That won’t work, you have to stomp the people for the points. Sieging them to death will award you no points(and may God have mercy on your soul).
Seems the same to me. You are just unlucky. Or it is a vast conspiracy, and you are one of the ones chosen to be slaves to us, the master race of ecto salvagers.
Remember that time JQ and SoR teamed up against BG? Or the time BG and JQ teamed up against SoR? How about the time SoR and BG teamed against JQ? You should, because they were ALL THE SAME WEEK.
So it was only caused by insider trading, not the increase in wealth afforded by champion box farming putting formerly out-of-reach goods into the impulse buy range. I see.
There’s always more than one explanation for things, give it a little thought before you claim the sky is falling.
They come from the bags bandits and pirates in the 20s drop as well. That’s where I get mine.
There are timers on the map?
If so those need to go too.
If people want to know if a camp is ready to flip, HAVE SOMEONE RUN THERE.
This set of tools is making WvW ridiculously easy to run around in a big blob, as there is little need for scouting anymore.
I can’t find the dev post now, but I do remember reading that they knew about this bug and the Rune of Strength not giving the extra +5% damage with might as well.
I got 4 Empyreal Shards from a random chest in Orr.
30 Dragonite Ore for clearing a temple.
