GG Anet for worst possible time for a patch.
We do guild missions each week and its always a lot of fun.
That being said, the crystalline ore for the new guild armor was a horrible design. No one in our guild has that armor even now due to that cost. I remember when we were all excited when we got them unlocked by leveling up the guild and seeing that cost, the unanimous disappointment, was a shame. Such a waste for something many of us looked forward to.
For the vendors not selling gear with HoT stats on them, I get that but I would like to see a better design to it. Maybe something along the lines of stats getting added as the guild levels or do something similar to them like the laurel vendor where they get added as you unlock them through the story or achievements.
I really hope you post gets looked at. I would love to see some attention be made to guild missions
Is there any way we could get the score we see to be more relevant? I don’t understand why we focus on showing PPT in the ticker over all else. I’m glad you guys added time left for each skirmish, but this whole concept makes little sense to me and I’m getting tired of explaining this to new people.
The way things are currently displayed, unless you go further into the WvW tab, you can relate this to a football game showing yards per attempt and we recently added time remaining until the end of the quarter. The actual score (points from skirmishes) should be front and center.
After that gets added, I’d like to suggest an “Number of 1st place skirmishes required to win the week.” I know that’s a long shot but it is very odd that this is getting overlooked. With skirmishes, a server can win before the end of the week. This happens often. You don’t make this apparent though. Not only do I believe this should be displayed, but the glicko scoring should take this into account, maybe it already does. However that calculation works with WvW levels and such, they should be made while matches are relevant. What happens after a server reaches first or last place early in the week should have less of an effect on their glicko score.
I don’t know why would someone “spy” in a game where you gain nothing for “winning” but if you still want to belive it was a spy but not a troll, go ahead. Whatever sails your ship…
Spy or troll. I’m not about to try to argue the difference. To me they are the same and I usually ignore them. This one was funny enough to share is all.
I guess if you’re going to spy, might as well go all in:)
Tonight we got to experience a player spy for the other servers, not sure which one, by creating a duplicate guild of our tag and tagging up and following our tag and dropping ballistas every few seconds. The dedication of trolling was real. 2 thumbs up. Anet liked it too since they were in the crowd. It was an amazing experience to be a part of:)

maybe I should have been more clear. The bug I’m saying exists is the tooltip saying more can be bought even though the limit is 16 (+1). I have no confusion over what the patch notes state. Only here to mention the bug.
I’m not going to test this but I bought 3 more for a total of 16 (17 with instant lvl 80) and it says I can still buy 3 more.
I personally think its in bad taste for Anet to claim things in wvw, or even tag up for that matter. I think that more veteran players understand they are playing like everyone else and being fair, but I also know a lot of people that feel the exact opposite and believe the other servers are getting help from the developers.
Don’t get me wrong, its good to see them playing their own game. However, unless you see them on all servers, it gives a bad impression and doesn’t look like they are promoting a fair atmosphere in WvW. While we all have our own opinions about what fair is, I would find in hard to believe in WvW’s current state that Anet claiming objectives is bringing in more players then its pushing away.
I saw the comment in the ghost outfit bug thread saying that fix is in. Just wondering if that is the only change.
Lots of people have the same things I want. There are many very similar lists here.
On the Keys that you won’t address, I’d like to offer an alternative idea. A key ring that can hold all the keys but only a small amount like 5 of each. Then you sell key ring expansions in the gem store to increase the capacity.
This would be a complete separate storage so I know it would be more work and maybe impossible or take too much time, but if nothing else, please think about a storage for currencies that don’t fit in with your philosophy of what can go in our wallet or crafting material storage.
IMO, these are the items that fill up all our characters inventory’s the fastest and it keeps getting worse as new currencies like these keep getting added. Another idea would to consider all these currency’s worthy of our wallet.

I’m sure we could hold our own and we’ve proven that at times, we still can. The problem is that we also have a casual base like other servers and when they sign on and see 1 vs 5 or 6 servers and then see we are outnumbered on every map, they tend to leave. So yes, I completely agree on the Fair Weathers running away from WvW.
This also doesn’t help with trying to get people back into the game. I have 5 friends already that I tried to get back into playing and when they see options like getting way outnumbered or pay to transfer, they go to WoW:(
This should be weekly. Even 2 weeks can lead to unbalanced matchups. Who the hell thought the options should be between 1 and 3 months in the first place. I understand you want to sell transfers more than you care about balanced matchups but this is beyond ridiculous. Your metrics should show that a server is getting crushed for 2 months straight considering we dropped from 1 to 12 in that time so maybe, just maybe, we shouldn’t be 1 vs 6 or 1 vs 5.

same. Well, bugged at least. Its on Bashing Bauxite Alchemicals but it says the monstrous Inquest experiment has been put down but the NPC’S are still at the console “Deciding” what to do next.

I’m in SW doing the Maguuma Lumber daily and hit up a Rich Mithril node on the way and get 10 uses. A few minutes later, I see another Rich Mithril node on the same map and hit it up but now I only get 3 uses.
Why did I only get 3 uses on the second Rich Mithril node? Is there a c/d I get placed into after I deplete a rich node on a map before I can do another or is this a bug? This is something I’ve encountered many times over the years but figured today I’d actually ask about it today. No one in guild knew and I couldn’t find anything in the wiki or google so here I ask you.

So, it looks like you can’t salvage, vendor or forge them. What gives? I just spent like 100g to get all the items for the collection to find out I can’t vendor, salvage or forge them. I was sure that one of those had to be an option. They are souldbound rares so I will not be wearing them so my only other option is to destroy. I knew that at least with Karma items you were limited to the forge but this is ridiculous. After that much money, I can’t believe I am now forced to destroy them all just to clear up bag space. What a crappy gold sink that you only find out about after the fact.
Request, fix this. It’s beyond dumb. Let us do something with them other then destroy or let them take up space. Hell even making them account bound might serve some purpose.
I see the purpose, but I think they used the wrong word. Its not mentoring when the requirement is 1 level 80 and and you first mastery. At least not in my opinion. I mean you can mentor, but no more than my 2nd grader can mentor my preschooler:)
I am glad they added it though. I like having a tag already, but this makes event chains happen more often which leads to more things going on that I can do with using my own tag. Also, you can use it as another tag for guild stuff. We only have a few tag colors anyways, so it can become one for a different group if needed. Instead of saying things like “you go with the north red tag,” you can now say “follow the apple”

Just getting fed up a little. I spend time throwing my tag on and running a Verdant or Auric map, getting participation well over 200% (not that it matters) only to have a crash with a few minutes left of night time after an hours worth of work, to come back to a new dead map with no participation.
Please, if participation is used to determined your rewards at the end, make some sort of attempt to get people back to the right map. I love the idea of participation to determine rewards, but this really needs to get implemented better. The way it currently works, I just can’t trust that the game will make it to the reward.

I had to get rid of it too. When I’m tethered through my phone, I need to get a new code each time my phone gets a new ip. My location doesn’t have much of a signal, so my phone losses connection and gets new ips all the time. It drove me crazy for the short amount of time I used it.
The problem I’m having is the options are not there but the game does stop running with SweetFX installed, so I only get the option of the game looking bad again.
Megaservers killed this game for me. I hope everyone else likes them at least but 48 pages of this thread would indicate otherwise. The event timers use to be great for getting the most out of my time. Now, I’m lucky to get 1 or 2 events done if I have 30 mins to play but I do get the luxury of waiting around for them to start for most of that 30 minutes. No thanks, think I’ll pass. I can honestly say that my commitment to this game when from very active to almost non existent since the Megaservers came out. I pretty much do the new content and occasionally test the event system to see if its better these days and then Iog. I know this is probably just another wasted post to add to the pile but I figure I’ll do my part to help get it to 49 pages while I’m here:)
Well its late and this thread was entertaining so I feel like feeding:)
OP, I feel bad for you, I really do. I think you initially had a thought about healing that you wanted to bring up but you did it the wrong way. Many people have learned this over time and hopefully you will as well. You thought something was broken in the game, stated as much and then pretty much asked the community if they agreed. You offered no examples why it is broken or any ideas on how to fix it and then over your responses accused others of not providing enough information to prove you wrong.
You also shot yourself in the foot by showing your own skill level right of the bat saying people complain that condition builds are broken but really they are bad players. You later followed that up by letting us know you only play PvE and a few times a week for a couple hours and take months off at a time. I’m not sure what PvE you are doing but most players find a problem with conditions the first time they see a limit of 25 stacks on a WB.
Then, through all you responses, you keep attempting to correct people by saying you are talking about support healing other players and not the traditional healer role, but back in your first post you say multiple healers in a group can do this but you acknowledge it would be too much of a dps loss. So, what it sounds like you want is 1 person in a group to provide enough heals for everyone but in a support role so they can still dps and not be a traditional healer.
This is my suggestion. We don’t want that in this game. We never did even back when you were playing the beta. Sure we could have healers could do that, but as many people mentioned already, its not needed with the dodges, self heals, condition removals and general ability to pay attention. Adding stronger heals to this game would only allow you to carry people more then ever, leading to an even less skilled player base then we already have. If you are having issues with the dungeon groups you are in, they need to work on gear and/or skill. They don’t need one person to be dps and be able to do large consistent group heals. They need to learn the mechanics to take less damage. If pug groups are the issue, find a good guild.
You initially asked why people weren’t complaining about the healing problem in this game and we’re all trying to say the same thing here. It’s because its not a problem, no matter how much you don’t like hearing that. It may not be perfect and I would love to hear you suggestions on how to make it a little better, but its not how this game was designed and placing attention here only means they don’t put it where its actually needed.
Anyways, like I said its late so I need to get going. I hope you eventually find the answer you are looking for and we can all move on.

One of my favorite parts of this game in the past was getting home from work and being able to figure out how to chain a few WB’s. It was rewarding when things fell into place and 5-10 all lined up perfect and I felt like I was actually playing the game
Now, I come home to the same few WB’s every day and one of them is Teq. This leads me to Jungle Wurm, Golem, and SB every day but spread over 45 mins or skip them and hope to get in on a good Teq map and wait there for 45 mins instead. Since I don’t find Teq all that rewarding, the other WB’s are usually my pick but even those now make me wait 5-10 minutes each before they start. I spend a lot less time playing now and much more time just standing there waiting.
Also, I don’t understand how making a few WB"s show up less often just to fit them into the schedule and then completely removing a few others is a good thing. It seems to me more like less PvE content throughout the day not. How is that helping the game. Was there ever a complaint of too many WB’s to fight in a day that I missed.
I love the change allowing guilds to start certain WB’s but for the life of me I can not figure out what was so wrong with the setup before to justify scheduling ALL WB’s. This is the most bland version of WB’s I have ever seen in my short MMO experience. I don’t often have hours and hours to sit around and play so in the time that I do have, the last thing I want to do is wait around for something that I shouldn’t even have to wait around for. Instead, I find this new schedule convincing me to log off and play other games.
I’m not sure if you plan on keeping this system around forever, but I really hope not. I enjoy this game a ton but if I can’t enjoy one of my favorite parts of PvE then I will find it very hard to keep playing.
Ahh you are right I suppose on 6 for PvE. The 6th is either dungeon or a fractal so that’s usually off my list unless I have time. Either way, before the patch the 2 that are now PVP were PvE, so I had options that I don’t have anymore. I wasn’t calling that a nerf though, just a reason I find myself going to other games these days.
I only mentioned nerf to the damage and its great to hear you haven’t noticed but it is a nerf and many others have seen much more than 10%. There are many huge threads already addressing it and why it ends up being more than 10% which is why I didn’t want to get into it. I only mentioned it to state it was one of my dislikes. My intention here was only to ask for more PvE options for the dailies.
Like I said above though, when I have time to play for an hour or two, I have no problem getting the dailies done. With a full time job and family, the new setup usually requires more time than I have available on work days because there is often 1-2 long ones. I am sure this is not a problem for many people who have tons of time to play, but its the issue I’m currently running into so that’s why I’m here asking. If others feel the same than maybe I’ll win that tiny lotto where the devs listen. If not then I already know the outcome of my request and I’ll keep playing but probably not as much.
I took some time off from this game before the big balance patch but it wasn’t that long. I remember there being different dailies for PvE and PVP. I remember having options primarily being a PvE player on how I wanted to do my dailies, but that no longer exists.
Every since the balance patch came out, I have exactly 5 PvE options to complete my daily. I know that this is absolutely a self centered way of thinking, me asking for more options, but let me explain what I go through now.
A few new games recently came out that I have added to the list of games I may play each day. I have always liked this game and was looking forward to this update. Unfortunately, when I’m trying to decide what game to play, GW2 leaves a bad taste in my mouth with the nerf to dps I have to deal with on all my characters. So, I get over that and sign in anyways and find that to complete my daily I either have to 1-3 PvE dailies that are not enjoying at all or I need to go PVP or WvWvW. This is the point when I usually log off and play a different game. If I have the time to stay on for a few hours on days off, this is not any issue but for the days I work and don’t have much time to play, this one simple thing is pushing me towards playing much less of this game then I use to.
I know I can’t ask for the nerf to be removed since many have already failed in that request, but I would like to see more PvE options for the dailies like there was in the past.
Yeah, just tried this about 30 times on my warrior. So freaking sick of the cutscene and randomness every time. Finally thought I got it and instead of stomping, the bar reset and started filling again. Last straw for me. Good luck to all those who get it.

This is an amazingly accurate prediction
Prediction for 80+ player content, if in fact that’s what this will be:
- The mechanics will not involve turrets that are susceptible to AFK griefing
- The overflow problems from the Teq debut will still be present
- The first couple of days, every server will be all over it
- Some will say, “Too hard.” while others say, “Too easy.” but there will be few if any comments of “Just right.”
- Once the Achievements have been … achieved, people will complain the rewards aren’t good enough
- Attendance will fall off
- Those who come late to the party on most servers will be kool (kitten out of luck)
- Active Teq alliances in EU and NA will add this to their routine, and say that everything’s fine because “We’re doing it in overflows.”
- People on the big pop servers will complain that too many people are guesting
- If the content is permanent, those in favor will exaggerate the numbers doing it, while those opposed will insist no one does it

IT IS BUGGED:
It’s… not… bugged…
That means you already did that tower. The chests are once per map, per account. You need to go to other maps in order to finish the whole achievement.
Note – there are 2 balloons per map. That means you must visit 15 different maps.
This bug can occur for someone clicking on their very first balloon tower chest. There are numerous threads on this and although what you say is true, there are many times where that is not what is occurring. Somehow, the chests get opened for you when a person opens it before you and you lose out on the chest/achievement and can’t come back to loot it later since the game now believes you already got credit for that tower. There is another thread where the devs said they will look into the bug, but I’m not sure if they have. I know when I completed it a few days ago they still hadn’t.
What worked for me is I just kept going to as many towers as it took until I got credit. If I saw someone running up in front of me, I would wait a sec before following them up the stairs or try to beat them to the top. not ideal but I did end up getting it done. Would be nice if they just fixed it though. 30 towers is a big portion of the map and not getting credit for some just means more running around and wasted time.

6 times this has happened now. Making this achievement pretty kitten annoying. Did the looking into it thing ever even happen???
I’ve had this happen 4 times now, all on different towers. I’m only 8/10 for the achievement and on the last one, I saw exactly what happened. Aveneo is right. The first person to the top got to open the chest and then it was open for me as well. I got no loot or achievement progress. The chest also stays open afterwards through multiple events so I can’t even loot it later on.
Any chance we’ll one day have some targets that are indestructible but at something less than 50 percent health to see those traits in action? I love this btw, just wondering about possible future improvements as well.
I digress. While it is possible (and potentially true) that there are bots on the TP. The fact that you, @Earlywood, claim that nobody can respond that fast means that you’re probably using a bot program with which it’s inhumanly possible to react (and then double check the price). Think about it, how else would you be able to know that someone else is outbidding you at a speed incapable of a normal human? Just a logical fallacy on your end…
LOL, and here I was trying not to accuse the defenders of bots in this thread of using bots and there you go. Please explain to me where I needed this speed that I’m accusing them of. If there is 1 item selling for the low bid and I click “Buy” (blazing speed I know) the item goes away at that price and the list shifts up with the next lowest amount now being on top. Sorry but no reflexes required on my part to do that.
For the sellers, to replace the 1 item I just bought fast enough for the list on my screen to never shift and that 1 single item being replaced by another 1 item for the same price takes either coincidence or those faster than human reflexes. I fully believe the coincidence occurs all the time, no doubt, but when I test that coincidence at various times over 5 minutes, the coincidence becomes more and more unlikely.
What I really want to know now though is why a community is so against this topic? I know api’s exist for the TP and I’m sure that people using them don’t want ArenaNet to implement a program to detect bots that might think they are bots, but at least admit that’s your concern and not this ridiculous belief that bots don’t exist. If that’s not the reason for pushback, than please let the rest of us know.
I am saying I tested in a 5 minute span at random time intervals to see if it where a bot and EVERY time the results supported this. There is no human that can respond this fast and I know you REALLY want to support flippers, but the probability of 1 or multiple people all posting a sale at the exact same price at all the exact same time intervals that I used is no where close to the likelihood of it being an easily designed bot based on the games architecture. I would like to believe that bots in the TP don’t exist, but lets stop kidding ourselves and support the elimination of these bots.

The closest I’ve seen to a bot was when trying to buy out someone who was underbidding one of my sales by a good amount. I tried to buy the 1 item they had at a way low price only to see there was still exactly 1 item for the same price for sale instantly. I thought maybe my screen didn’t refresh so I checked again and the 1 was still there. Now curious, I wanted to see how far this went. Over the next 5 minutes or so, I kept buying 1 at a time at the low price and every time there would instantly be another 1 available. I could not get the low ball price to stop showing up after buying near 50 items, one at a time, at the low price. I honestly can’t believe that a human would be intentionally selling something for 5 silver less than the next lowest seller, one item at a time for over 50 items. It looked much more like someone left a bot on to sell at that price if it would be lowest seller. Days later, they did stop and I was able to profit, but it was still questionable to see.

I’ve been gone the last few days so just wondering if it will be there so I can complete the meta achievement when I get back later today.
Other than adjustments to Orr rewards (as covered in the release notes) the only change made in this patch to over-all loot was allowing high level characters who are playing in lower level zones the opportunity to earn top level gear to provide greater rewards. (as also covered in the release notes)
There are no “stealth nerfs”, any changes will be covered directly in the release notes, of which there are none.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Unfortunately, we all know you are told to say this. As much as I like hearing the response though, maybe sometimes you should just leave us hanging because everyone and their mother can see the difference in loot drops. Not even from this last patch but the trend since before Christmas.
Lets not confuse lazy with efficiency. The requirement is to discover them. Its great that people are doing them as well but there’s no reason to go bashing everyone else for not doing extra:)
Our guild “Beer” has been waiting a while for this to be fixed. We’d like to make it a guild requirement since it just seems fitting. I really hope this can get looked at one of these days, along with maybe a way to actually get the “Thirst Slayer” achievement in a reasonable way. I just don’t see why that one was made to be one of the harder achievements to get in the game, but just like kegmaster, our guild would love for everyone to get it.
idk but the patch notes say they corrected the number of items required for certain recipes. The only recipe I got from this so far from this event was a Giver’s Mithril Imbued Inscription and I guess they just made me unlearn it because I can no longer make it.
I was having issues doing this with a Naga mouse and a Nostromo on my left hand. I just couldn’t wrap having the left half colors being set to my right hand and the right half colors to my left. I decided to try just using the keyboard numbers and it turned it into easy mode.
