of course zoning out to trade the baubles for a bubble and then zoning in is a possibility. but we still look at a huge amount of baubles in a narrow time span – half an hour for 14 baubles? A quick run takes about 14 minutes excluding rapids, and then you still have to collect 1750 baubles while the run mustn´t exceed 30 minutes. I´d like to know how that can be possible – certainly not this way. thats why i´d like to hae some intel from Giles.

I find it funny how skeptical you are, I’ve already explained that I get 500 baubles on both zone 2 and 3, and another 500 on zone 1 of both worlds combined. It’s not difficult to look on dulfy.net for the digging locations and if you’re still confused there is a guide to get 6000 baubles an hour on this forum, that’s 24 bauble bubbles and all you’d need to do differently to make it 26 baubles is kill the boss regularly instead of on infantile mode, just once. That’s also on one character. It’s quicker on two because you can get 2 baubles from each chest.

Azure Prower: People should not have to level an alt to play :-)

Giles Marchand: 1) I’m aware that there are 420 baubles in Zone 2 from digging. But I think it would still take longer to get all (or most of those 420 baubles), to get 1,000 than to farm the bosses.
2) Yes you CAN earn the weapon skins via bauble bubbles, but you can’t SELL those ones. You CAN SELL the ones you find in a chest. Considering the skins are selling in the 3-4g, 7g, 20g range, that’s nothing to sneeze at.

Mad Queen Malafide: It’s not that hard to get the weapon skins with bauble bubbles. If you had 4 alts, and you ONLY did the 1st two bosses (about 10-15 mins a day per character, including zoning), on 15/30 of the possible days… that would be 4*4*15= 240 bauble bubbles. Almost enough to get 5 weapons skins. Not a grind either.

Xavori: 1) The post is about “DELETE CHARACTER” farming. My post is not about people with a lot of alts.
2) If you have 20 alts, then you should be able to do the SAB on each of your characters.

Giles Marchand: Assuming you get 2+2+2+1=7 bauble bubbles per chara, that would be 14. That would mean you’re getting at least 3,500 baubles to get the other 14 bauble bubbles. If you can do that in “a little less than an hour”, good job.

Esplen: No. The current reward system is fine. It doesn’t need to be changed. Only the delete farming needs to be addressed.

Those are just the baubles from digging and I skip some of them and replace them with others and there are dig spots that are not all listed on one site but collected from several. I can get a full 500 baubles on both zones 2 and 3 and another 500 from zone 1 and 4 combined. That’s an extra 6 baubles per character while passing through.

Which is only 26 but still halfway to a skin.

I would also like to add that although people who farm with new characters have more chances to loot a skin, the chance is still 1/50 and I don’t think it’s any more profitable than any other farming method in the game.

I can make 4 baubles faster on one character digging hidden spots in zone 2 repeatedly. The only advantage those people have is a chance at a skin, considering you can earn them yourself with the baubles you earn means this isn’t a problem.

Dwarves would require retconning or deus ex machina, as only a few of them are left (and it’s hinted that Ogden might even be the last one) – certainly not enough of them to justify a playable race.

Well according to the wiki dwarves are still around but turned into stone, living in the depths. There could easily be a plot devised where the magic that transformed them is reversed or a cure made (not deeply familiar with dwarf lore so I don’t know but I can imagine it wouldn’t be hard to explain it).

That isn’t what I was referring to. Stone dwarves are still very much dwarves, but most of the stone dwarves have died in their war against the Destroyers for the past 250 years.

I can’t find any information saying they have mostly died out?

Gem Price Plummet?

Giles Marchand.6970

That’s nothing like what I said. No one is going to deny that Guild Wars 2 isn’t 100% free market, it doesn’t sound like you know what I’m even talking about.

When you say something like…

The price of gems has been confirmed to be completely controlled by ArenaNet

You’re implying that they directly set the gem cost. They say "100 gold = 100 gems, and that’s that. That is “completely control” of the price.

They obviously do not do that. We’re all confused as to how did you jump from “GW2 isn’t a free market” to “Anet completely controls gem prices.”

I already apologized for not clearly expressing my thoughts, I meant “ultimately” not “completely.”

We’re all confused as to how did you jump from “GW2 isn’t a free market” to “Anet completely controls gem prices.”

No one should be confused by that, everyone can see that I posted one before the other, not the other way around. I realized I needed to better explain and I did.

You can only say, ultimately, anet can control the gem price indirectly. i.e. they can shift the market depending on patches, fixes, new content etc. But what they’re not doing is… hmm price for gold to gem ratio is too high, lets make it lower, which is what you’ve been heavily implying based on what you said.

Fair enough.

The price of gems has been confirmed to be completely controlled by ArenaNet, who confirmed it, ArenaNet, in a previous post in this forum. I don’t know if the number of people purchasing gems has anything to do with it.

What post would that be?

“there has never been a completely free market in any MMO, patches and fixes modify markets.” – John Smith

That statement would include Guild Wars 2, earlier in the thread you had asked, “Out of curiosity, how many feel that a 100% free market would be a good idea?” Which of course would mean that Guild Wars 2 is not 100% free market, that makes sense but since ArenaNet controls our accrual of gold completely that would mean that ultimately ArenaNet controls the gem prices.

It would also appear the post you linked was made a month or so after I had left that thread and was made to address some confusion. Like many others, I misinterpreted what you had said earlier in the thread.

I apologize for not clearly expressing my thoughts in my initial post.

Er, wow, you just made a huge amount of assumptions based on a very vague statement and questionnaire.

Here lemme give you an example of what you just did:

Person A: Kittens are usually brown but in rare occasions it can be white.
Person B: WHAT? Are you saying all kitten is white and that brown kitten doesn’t exist anymore!!!
Person A: No no, i’m just saying that although kitten is mostly brown, sometimes depending what you eat and stuff, it can turn white, but its rare I mean they can also be yellow too.
Person B: WHAT?, now you’re saying kitten can only be yellow and white?! pulls hair out

Person A: err…i’m going to start a questionnaire now, out of curiosity, how many people would think yellow and white kittens is a good idea :o?
Person B: OMG, this person is the devil!!!!!! he wants all our kittens to be yellow and white!!! Unitology rwar rwar awr more pulling hair

I changed it to kittens because I wasn’t sure if using the actual word would be considered an infraction. Lol, jokes aside, my point is, you’ve taken a statement totally out of context and made huge assumptions based on something they clearly did not mean.

That’s nothing like what I said. No one is going to deny that Guild Wars 2 isn’t 100% free market, it doesn’t sound like you know what I’m even talking about.

Magnificent Chest is higher then Glorious Chest which means Magnificent Chest should be considered the large chest while Glorious chest isn’t.

Magnificent Chests are smaller than Glorious Chests are they not.

No they are larger and rarer then the Glorious Chest.

The Glorious Chest is what spawns after the temple events in Orr, and I’m pretty sure it was a Glorious Chest at the end of The Lost Shores event. I can’t imagine the Magnificent Chest at the end of The Mad King’s Clocktower was indeed bigger.

I also have to say that it would be impossible for them to share the same loot tables if the chest at the end of The Lost Shores event was in fact a Glorious Chest.

Edit: I would also like to add that following the links you provided, shows that Magnificent Chests spawn at the end of jumping puzzles and not after boss encounters.

Not entirely true if you look at where it does spawn.
Fractals of the Mists
*
Volcanic Fractal – If all Captives are saved

It also is the chest that they use for special events. Volcanic Fractal is a boss fight.

Caledon Forest
*
Sandycove Beach – End of Spekks’s Laboratory

Is also a fight before you are able to get to the chest.

You got to read the wiki a little before you say things lol.

Spekk’s Laboratory is a jumping puzzle. I do believe the chest is already spawned upon entrance, you just need to finish the fight to access the chest.

You have one valid point and that’s the Volcanic Fractal and that is just one exception to the rule which came to exist after Final Rest was confirmed to be in the game which excludes it from being the location the developers hinted at.

Either way we’re not looking for Magnificent Chest.

All I’m going to say is that you tried to fix something that wasn’t broken, the developers didn’t intend for us to play through dungeons that way, they’re not the ones who have to play through them. Even if they test through them, they know everything about the dungeon, it isn’t an accurate portrayal of how the player feels while playing through that content.

I enjoyed dungeons.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Giles Marchand.6970

I enjoyed dungeons despite the communities general distaste for them, this waypoint fiasco has actually ruined this for me, I did Sorrow’s Embrace story mode for the first time today after doing 75% of the damage to The Iron Forgeman I dodge rolled into the lava, I died and for the next 10 minutes I sat there as my group dealt the last 25%. I didn’t get to see the fruits of my labor, all I could see was the fragments of the boss that floated away underneath the lava, I then had to use a waypoint and run back to my group.

I can’t use a waypoint while alive while a party member is in combat, is this intended?

What is the general consensus of this change? I’ve noticed far fewer people on “gw2lfg” since the patch.

My personal opinion is that the developers felt that “res-rushing” wasn’t intended and isn’t how they wanted players to play through their content but it’s better than no one playing their content is it not?
