I might take the under for a day, until we discover the new bugs.
It’s probably too optimistic to think the feature patch will actually address any of these, though.
On the contrary! I talked to one of our developers, and there are a lot of Mesmer bug fixes that will be deployed with the Feature Pack. I do not have the full list yet, keep an eye out for the update notes once the Feature Pack goes live.
Greetings!
We want to give you an update on our rollout of the megaserver technology. It is progressing nicely, and we have turned it on on the following maps:
The Grove
Heart of the Mist
Black Citadel
Timberline Falls
Southsun Cove
Rata Sum
Straits of Devastation
Fields of Ruin
Brisban Wildlands
Hoelbrak
Iron Marches
Blazeridge Steppes
Dredgehaunt Cliffs
As a reminder – once we turn megaserver on for a specific map, you will not be automatically placed in the new map. You have to leave the map and enter it again. You will also not be able to join your friends until they do the same.
We are continuously monitoring the process and will continue rolling the tech out to more maps based on that. Have fun playing!
As previously implied, each player who participated in any Assault Knight battle will receive a bonus reward chest when all 3 events complete as long as at least one Assault Knight has been defeated.
Fixed an issue in which the Assault Knight kill counter would reset incorrectly.
Fixed additional bugs related to the health regeneration issue with all Assault Knights.
Fixed an issue in which the “In Tune” and “No More Tricks, Scarlet” achievements were not being awarded if the player was downed or killed.
The “In Tune” and “No More Tricks, Scarlet” achievements are no longer awarded to players that leave the Prime Hologram encounter before it is completed.
Removed Assault Knight health bars from the meta-event UI to avoid confusion.
Scarlet has activated additional defenses on the Breachmaker during the Prime Hologram encounter. Thirty seconds into the battle, lasers will target the areas near the entrance portal and the elevator leading to the Breachmaker’s interior. Being hit by these attacks will count against the “No More Tricks, Scarlet” achievement.
We just wanted to respond to the image that has been data-mined from the Edge of the Mists testing branch.
This is a testing branch. We conduct internal experiments for various territories on our testing branches. This particular experiment is not being tested for the West.
As always, keep in mind that we test a lot more than we ship, so data-mining is no guarantee of anything. If we have announcements to make about future content, we’ll make them through the usual official channels.
We are aware of an issue with a duplicate achievement in the current daily achievement list. Completing this achievement will freeze the client and you will have to restart the game. Going into your Hero panel and checking the Daily Achievement category after you restarted the client will also freeze the client and you will have to restart the game. We are currently looking into it, sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
I want to take a moment to give you an update on how we will enforce part of our forum Code of Conduct in the future. This pertains the part regarding personal attacks against staff members.
As we have mentioned in the past, these forums are here to facilitate discussions among yourselves and between you and our developers. We value all constructive feedback, be it positive or not. But we will draw a line when posts include personal attacks on members of the studio (yes, “cleverly” disguised ones as well).
Our goal is to have a healthy forum community and provide a place where people can have constructive and respectful conversations and dialogue with our staff members.
So from this point forward, everybody who personally attacks a member of the studio will get an immediate 2 week forum suspension on the first violation. Any further attack on studio members will result in a permanent termination of your posting rights.
The Merchant who traded items for Zhaitaffy is now named Sonder the Seller, you will find him next to the Laurel vendor in Fort Marriner. But he couldn’t pass up a great opportunity like Halloween to exchange for Halloween items. But once Blood and Madness is over, which runs until November 11th, he will resume trading items for Zhaitaffy.
This thread is about discussing the post from Chris Whiteside, not the moderation on this forum. Please focus on the topic at hand. Any further posts discussing things not related to the original post will be removed.
As has been pointed out by other posters: The recipes for inscriptions are not impacted by this, you have to rediscover the weapon and then get XP from it. Example:
I can currently craft a Berserker’s Pearl Reaver. After the build, I will still know how to make the Inscription (which is the recipe), but i will need to put one of the Berserker’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscriptions, one Orichalcum Axe Blade and one Small Ancient Haft into the Discovery window and make it to be able to craft the axe again.
This thread has by now probably covered all possible conspiracy theories.
It is true, Rob is no longer with us, and we wish him all the best for his future endeavors. And that is all that needs to be said, the personal life of existing or former employees does not belong here.
Fixed a bug that prevented some player characters from receiving their First Birthday Gift. This update should ensure that all characters receive a gift through the in-game mail system when they turn one year old. If a player is in the game when a specific character turns one year old, the player may need to change maps or log out and back in to receive the First Birthday Gift. Some players may receive a second gift as a result of this fix. For more information about the First Birthday Gift, please see this FAQ.
Changed the amount of PvP glory gained when using the Birthday Booster to match the booster’s description.
General
The /age command now returns the number of days since your current character’s creation instead of the number of months.
As a former community manager for Kabam games, I’ll tell you right now that this guy only knows half of what is actually going on. Directors and producers don’t tell community managers anything because like this guy, he posts only part of the information online and causes a ****-storm. So, take what he says a grain of salt. All we know, now, is that we will be able to switch MF gear to another kind of gear. We don’t know anything beyond that.
I am sorry you had a bad experience in your former job. Here our developers actually talk to us and give us information we need. So what I am posting here is coming straight from the people working on the changes.
To answer a few more questions:
If you currently have listed an item with MF on the Trading Post, they will be returned to you, as they become account bound.
Upgrade components that currently give MF bonus will be updated with new functionality.
All existing drops and crafting recipes that have created Magic Find gear will be replaced with new stat combos.
Weapons, armor and trinkets with magic find will become account bound, lose their current stats and will gain the ability to be double-clicked to select one of several stat options depending on the item.
For example, if you have an Explorer’s Pearl Staff, you can now double-click it to change it to any other crafting stat.
We will have a blog post about it with more extensive information as well, keep an eye on the website.
We just want to let you know that in preparation for the release on August 20th we will be stress testing culling (more specifically, the removal of culling), so we will turn culling off on random maps and at random times from now on up to the release.
Yeah, I wrote that down wrong. The Offering is used in crafting recipes (like the tokens before), not in the Mystic Forge. That was my bad, I apologize. I modified my post above.
Fractal Relics (the regular ones) have been removed from Mystic Forge recipes. Those recipes now use Piles of Crystalline Dust instead.
With regards to dungeon tokens and crafting: You can buy Offerings from the vendors that sell you the dungeon armors and then use them in the crafting recipes.
I wouldn’t be the one to talk if i was you guys considering that zhaitan’s final fight is infamously bad amongst the forums sooooooo you guys calling someone else’s bad writing is hilarious coming from you guys.
I see you are not familiar with this rather common Joss Whedon meme that I was referring to. Hint: it has nothing to do with writing.
I know they would deny it, but I would bet heavily that this whole election thing was fixed in the first place. Due to the fact they have to plan what they are doing in this next patch, and they can’t have a person win and change everything at the last minute.
We mentioned that we will build the fractal the winner supports and will put it into the game towards the end of the year, not the next update.
Yes, I am angry and I have every right to be! My anger flows through me and fuels me to vigorously write posts of feedback hoping someone reads it and prevents this from happening again.
Anger leads to hate. Which we all know leads to the dark side.
The threads were not deleted but closed, as indeed they were getting a bit heated. (And there are also a lot of redundant threads). I encourage everybody to discuss the outcome of the election in a calm and constructive way, we will close all threads that will get out of control.
The election was rigged anyway. I couldn’t find a bucket to cast a vote for Captain Suwash. I hear he would’ve researched the Quaggan-nado fractal and had half-priced crab cakes for everyone.
People here at the studio where as passionate about this as you folks, so we had both Kiel and Gnashblade supporters. I for example play a charr, so I was obviously on #TeamGnashblade.
You did not read my post properly. It is not an option. It is not possible without touching core systems. Which will have other consequences. An MMO is a very complex thing.
So what your telling us is: Removing a key feature from the personal bank doesn’t touch any core systems, but adding a completely new feature while leaving the bank as is would require you to alter core systems.
I may not be a programmer, but something about that statement just seems backwards to me.
He’s not a programmer either. He has no idea how the digital cogs work. In the future, he should refrain from posting comments, in regards to topics outside of his own area of expertise.
I will ignore the tone of your post so I can give an answer that is relevant for other people: The information I passed along was coming directly from the programmer who implements the system. I think he is qualified to address this.
