What a disappointment all around. Low damage, low condi clear, low damage mitigation, long cd, long cast times, low gap closer. The dual skills is not worth it and neither it the sword.

A lot of your acting like you’re forced to stare at that screen until the enemy teams decides you can leave, literally nothing has changed with how you could leave before. Just leave if it bothers you so much, don’t cry about it and try to take away something fun and silly for others to do once in awhile.

As I said before, most people, even winners tend to leave a match asap… just like it’s always been. Once the novelty wears off it will be exactly as it was before.

This, so much this JFC. Anet didn’t force you to withstand this, you can lit. leave the match half a second after that screen popped up. You don’t even have to look at it. And hell, the stat board hides 90% of the screen. If half of the people whining over this actually developed a skin instead of crying over pointless stuff like this, then maybe we could adress real toxicity issues….

I think one thing people will agree is to remove strafe from q and e and put it in the “turn right/left” place, wherever you want. Also to disable double tap to dodge.

Rest is really dependent on your taste and set up. All of my options/menus (guild, pvp, inventory, hero pannels) are on the num pad. My skills remained on 1-4, my ele attunment are scatterec (shift, c, v, middle mouse button) my heal is on r and the rest of my skills are on my mouse. I have dodge mapped to e and about face to q. Autorun on tab, etc.

Okay so here are the changes that I made:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQNAW8an0nBNqh1oBGqBEgilTj68JiirjMAWggqOaz2tF-TpBFAB/XGYhLAQbPAABOCAAcQAkb/BA

Okay, so first I switched to staff if only for personal reasons. IMO, staff is a better CC weapon with more kiting availability than GS, but if you’re more comfortable with GS5, then I think it could also works.

Shield to pistol is, again, a personal choice of mine. Less survivability, but more range for the interrupt.

I switched blink for decoy, and well for mantra as far as healing goes, the rest remained unchange. Decoy will enable a safer recharge of your mantras and I made the build more mantra oriented through inspiration “Restorative mantra” this gives you heal even through mantra of distraction, which can really come in handy. Mantra of recovery will also be more powerful that way, with a heal on channel on top of the two charges.

To go further on the specs, I did not change many things. Domination is as straightforward as it goes, and beyond switching Persisting Image for Restorative Mantra, I left the insp. line the same.

What changed was the Chronomancer line. Time catches up became Delayed Reaction for the slow on interrupt and moved IReversion for IAlacrity to have a faster access to your lockdown (which is the mandatory component of the build).

For the equipment, I value Pal. more than Marauder amulet. The difference in power is roughly the same, but the additional toughness can make a difference. Beyond that, you’re not lookin at having the most power build ever available, but something that can reliably shut down opponent and create a sense of panic in a team fight. I feel that Paladin fill that role better.

Also, when dealing with niche builds whose role is a bit more nebulous, I really have a preference for traveler. Fill up the missing stats (vit, toughness) nicely and fluff the damage while adding a permanent 25% increase speed (I’ll have to see whether or not it adds or just doesn’t pop into effect with the minor of chronomancer otherwise Leadership might prove more useful) boon duration is never to sneeze at.

This makes you able to put a different sigil (Energy, fire, air, doom, generosity).

Is it viable? I have no idea, not tested yet, but I’ll definitely have my fun once exams go away.

I always worry I’ll get interrupted while channeling the Mantra. It’s why I dropped Mantra of Recovery. However I noticed that you’ll constantly be getting stability if timed well. If you kite your stability will be fine too.

Also about the 4.3k heals, I used the combat log and tested its effects on players. It clearly stated 4.3k heals. I came with the conclusion that the tooltip is bugged. It also doesn’t heal 2.8k to me, but about 3.6k. With constant quickness spam from shatters the mantra channeling will speed up leaving you with even more damage + healing.

I used to dish mantras because of the same reasons, but had no problems charging mantra of distraction if I keep to the sides or kite. I really get the feeling people stopped caring about kiting with all this boon-fest spam-stability thing going on.

I’ve put Null Field back on the line, even foregoing decoy for it, and played a few matches (both ranked and unranked) with an interrupt build. The success I’ve had is kind of sad considering it should not be successful at all. A boon strip + interrupt build can be pretty nasty even solo.

As Jaina said, as far as tips goes I’d encourage you to familiarize yourself with the LFG tool as soon as possible.

Other tips I could give is that you should not destroy anything you receive, salvage what you can, collect raw materials and sell the junk. (the price on the lower right represent the value of an item in-game, there’s a trading post for players and the price there can vary wildly.

If you ever feel like you’re in a zone where your level is too low, but you did everything you could in the previous one, go to another starting city. Each race have 1-15 areas for you to level in.

Gather everything you see, it will come handy later in, if only to make some money. Also, even if it sets you off path, get all waypoint you can, this will also help once you come back to those maps.

Playera cannot steal loots or kill, so feel free to jump in a fight if you see people struggling.

Don’t be afraid to request help in map chat, chances are there are at least a few people who have the reply.
Enjoy the game.

Advice on starting gw2

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Pepsi.8907

Pepsi.8907

If you could take your time to reply to me please also answer this
1) one or two easy classes to start with and learn the game extensively (now a days i can only play about 1-2 hours a day due to my university/job schedule

1: I’d say any class could be considered easy, save, maybe, for elementalist, mesmer, revenant and engineer, because of the more tricky gameplay and mechanic. So, You’d have necro, ranger, warrior, guardian, thief.

2) A little info on the spec/elite spec and so on

Warrior and Guardian are heavy armor geared toward melee. So is thief, but he is squishier and rely on a cloak and dagger style, with high evasive abilities, and high damage.

Necro is a caster type, both melee and range depending on the weapon you use, using more conditions than raw power, it’s especially proficient at CC (fear, immobilize, cripple, chill) and is an interesting gameplay altogether.

Range is a medium, range class, also with the ability to use melee, and has a pet he can use to tank for him. Not much I can tell, I have not played that one in ages.

3:

Anything you wish. The game is not cattered toward certain class UNLESS, you go in more competitive play (high fractal, raid and PvP), where people can get ANAL about the class/build. I would not worry about it until lvl80, that’s for sure.

4:

http://dulfy.net/category/gw2/ ALWAYS have incredible guides about the games/achievements/story/map completion.

http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ if you want to learn more about each class, or theorycraft your own build

http://intothemists.com/guides/ is in the same vein as gw2skills and metabattle (which I will post shortly), an extensive library of builds for all classes and games coupled with a build calculator

http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki is the current library for builds, a nice reference to know what is “meta” and what is not, but is less cattered on the PvE side.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/ I think the mods are more active on reddit than they are here.

http://gw2timer.com/?enu_Language=en to track events and bosses

http://www.gw2spidy.com/ a nice website toward the economy of gw2, the current gem to gold exchange rate, and to know the current prices and variations on the TP items.

http://gw2legendary.com/ a nice website if you ever want to craft your legendary, it keeps track of where you’re currently at in your crafting and saves it on an account linked with your facebook (doesn’t post anything on your wall) so that you can come back later and recuperate the info even if you closed the tab. Have been keeping mine for 2+ years.

I think that’s all really. Save for Dulfy, most of these are aimed at level 80, but nothing prevents you to familiarize yourself with them or even use them preemptively.

5:

Rebind your keys as soon as possible (especially strafing from ‘Q’ and ‘E’ to ‘A’ and ‘D’, and the keys 6 to 0 to somewhere closer to your ‘wasd’) learn to use the LFG tool as soon as possible as it’s going to be mandatory in the higher maps. As soon as you can get gathering tools and gather and horde everything you can.

Salvage what you can, don’t destroy items, keep your gear 5-10 levels lower than your current level, it does not matter and you should not change too often, it will rob you from money you need.

When exploring maps, absolutely focus on the waypoints and grab as much as you can in one instance, will save you when you’ll have to come back.

During your leveling, if you realize your level is too low to pass to another map, but you have already done everything you could where you currently are, go to Lion’s arch and into the cities. Each races have specific starting zones that you can use and level from there.

That’s all I can think of…

Pepsi.8907

English is not my first language.

I mean when you buy something and then after you do they say “but there is a catch!” but only after you pay not before.

“offended” would have fit better, which is a strong sense of resentment of annoyance at a perceived insult, this is closely linked to humiliation but with less of a feeling of being perceived as degraded and more of being angry at what you believe is an injustice.

“annoyed”, “irritated” would also fit.
You could also have felt “slighted”; To feel “affronted” at a perceived injustice or at a treatment of contempt, disregard and indifference toward you as a person or at your situation.

Had a play with it and Enameled Sky dye appears to be a pretty close match, but is super expensive (around the 200g mark).

Regal dye and Starry Night both seem pretty close too – they’re around 1g on the Trading Post.

Have often wondered the actual color used for the wiki pictures, really love that blue too.

Don’t have the game at hand to test, but I’m also pretty sure it’s an enameled, they have a distinct shine to them on metal.

They are not for groups but they are not an average trash mob. “Veteran”, or more challenging than normal, mobs exist in nearly every mmorpg out there and they all serve the same purpose, to be more like boss-like encounters for a single player, or if you go to an area that has lots of them, a place for groups. It’s not unique to GW2 to have more challenging foes out in the open world.

To be perfectly honest, I think the boss-like encounters for a single player should be reserved for Champions in core game. I don’t think it’s that farfetched to say that pulling 1-3 veteran with a bunch of satellites hovering around would not be infeasible. Even in the cursed shore (giants for example).
Champions are where it’s at in term of boss equivalent for solo.

How do people feel about the difficulty of the Maguuma Wastes maps? Dry Top and the Silverwastes were added after Core Tyria but before HoT, so it should have been the transition map, really. And you have to go through the Silverwastes to get to Verdant Brink anyway. Maybe this is the transition map people need, but keep overlooking because they just want to jump into the new expansion.

Not just that, but for people playing from the beginning, they often did those maps when they were new and packed. You don’t really learn much in a zerg with 50 other people. If you go back there later, that’s when it becomes more challenging.

Those maps are harder than the core maps to solo, but how many people solo them?

Solo, the Wastes are just not enjoyable. They were truly targeted to group play, even moreso than Maguuma maps, but I’d agree the difficulty feels in-between that of core and Maguuma.

Instead of nerfing the Heart, I’d rather want NCsoft increasing core Tyria’s difficulty. Maybe not to the level of the Heart, because Core should be accessible without ascended or elite specialization, but definitely overhauled so that full exotic players cannot rofltstomp champions anymore.

I think the only thing I have a hard time with in core Tyria, even before the xpac, was the legendaries. Anything below that and it was perfectly doable. It was boring.

Unplayable Solo

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Pepsi.8907

Pepsi.8907

I think the main problem is not “how hard” HoT is, but rather how badly the core game handles the players.

I must not have created one character in the last year or so, so I apologize if my information is incorrect, but I remember having to figure out most of the stuff by myself. And that was before the integration of the LFG, and many other mechanics.

Yes there are pop-ups, and in that regard, it may lie with the player to pay attention to these, but I still feel like this form of tutorial is more invasive than helping. On top of that, I feel like the emphasis on dodging and kiting around mobs in the core game is very weak compared to HoT maps. I can probably still solo Champions in the Ruins of Orr, which I really am not able to do in HoT. The difference in difficulty levels is exponential, which is not necessarily a bad thing, as it’s a breath of fresh air for older players.

But I can get that it can be very frustrating and disgruntling for players who do not have the years of experience of others, or dealt heavily in PvP / WvW, or even have a large guild or a large amount of friends ready to do these maps.
The playerbase in HoT is also less… friendly, more grindy. The necessity of being many to do metas makes other players poorly receptive or ready to help other players, especially if it’s unrelated to the meta that is happening, and it’s a stark change from the core game, which does not hint at this steep difficulty at all.

I don’t think that HoT is too hard, I think it’s just right for players needing that little bit of “more” they lacked from the core game. However I don’t feel like the latter prepare players sufficiently for how grindy and challenging the Heart of Maguuma is.

I mean, I remember when they revamped Tequatl and the number of time it was failed before the first organized instance managed to get it right. It was an awful thing, which looks comparatively like baby-walk to the amount of organization needed for the meta events in the Heart. Mordremoth is challenging on itself, not withstanding the 1h long meta taking place beforehand.

Hell, I remember at launch, when Veterans felt like hell, and everything was new and hard and undiscovered. It’s a feeling I’m rediscovering in Heart of Maguuma that is not present in the core game, because the player base is already old, the mechanic is now autonomous and well oiled. New players don’t have to figure it out.

No discount on HoT for returning players?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Pepsi.8907

Pepsi.8907

Imagine how hard it would be to get someone to start the game three, four expansions down the road, if the buy in price is 300.

But it is like that, they’re just not telling people up front. New players still need to buy each individual season. Since HoT isn’t actually required, their 1 box model could simply include the latest expansion and the core game, moving HoT to the gem store and further increasing the hidden cost. On their current track, it’ll eventually become very expensive to buy the full package, far more than selling every expansion separately because the gem store has fixed prices.

And I mean, I don’t get why people are surprised by this? Just look at the cost of GW1 and all of its xpac, easily in the 100+$ range despite the age of the game.

I finished the personal story yesterday (after five years lol) and it was so easy on solo it was laughable, so I really don’t get this “nerf” difficulty. [Suggestion] Make players move more in combat

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Pepsi.8907

Pepsi.8907

Seriously, I don’t know where to begin with this…

Meteor shower already has a loading animation. He twirls around. Everyone who bothers knowing the other classes knows this animation by now, and know what it means.

Also, the ground circle is laughably easy to avoid, and if not for that, then the first meteor to land are also a good enough cue hard to miss. If you do, then it’s on you, and I would not see a whole class penalized off of a skill that is already hard enough to land successfully because some cannot pay attention.

Also, I don’t get your incentive. You say yourself that older player move more. That means it’s a learning issue, which is resolved with times, why add a candy on top of it? The game itself fuel the need to move around fairly well on itself, simply by the fact that there is no tank.

Of course big blob won’t move as much, but they also have the need to remain close and huddled together. I don’t see much PvP, roaming or small man squad PvE remaining immobile in aoe-filled land. Recipe for disaster that.

Your end note.

The skill can be modified through your own interface. Some like it as is, some don’t. Some hate the layout as a whole (like I did) and changed everything. Most people encourage keybinding strafe to ‘A’ and ‘D’.

Overall, I just feel like this suggestion is a way to ask the game to give a crutch to a player who can’t be bothered to learn how to walk.

Yeah, but that’s like telling a mountain climber who lives at sea level to just tie one arm behind his back. People who like HoT want content like HoT, not to be told to handicap themselves so that they can enjoy playing GW2.

The problem is that GW2 doesn’t punish you like other games would. Normally, you would be forced forwards as experience from lower level content would be greatly diminished. When you actually level through the core game at the intended level and equipped in what it was originally balanced for (fine and masterwork gear), it can be a much different experience. HoT is simply a wakeup call, because suddenly the game is balanced for maxed out 80s instead of levelers.

Playing in +3 level areas isn’t even challenging, it’s normal, especially compared to how it was at launch.

And I mean, not just maxed out 80s like you find in all of the Orr territories, but given and tuned toward players who have played for years before it was installed.

I was one of those who got absolutely kitten d by those bands of raptors thinking it would be no different than being swamped by centaurs, risen, or others and I could just strafe my way around.

Lol nope.

Knowledge I’ve learned the hard way in WvW and PvP became quite mandatory. No more tanking with a zerker staff ele. But to say it’s badly optimized, well I’ll disagree with OP.

HoT was hard and exhausting to master and learn to love (jesus kitten the vertical plane) but once you get your gliding mastery, and a few others like the shrooms, it became a truly needed breath of fresh air. I could do the meta over and over again and I would not be bored. And that’s coming from someone who sticked for more than a year to pvp-only content because PvE was the death of me.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Build-Core-ele-is-back/first#post5950782

Ele was already not used much in prolague, now we won’t see any. Are you gonna call those people unskilled, too and say how much better you are because you can kill some hotjoiners? Please.

Never talked about proleague, anywhere!!! I assume you are a proleaguer since you runing like if on fire on several treads calling doom, doom even before changes were anounced. Once again as I post on most of my opinion comments, it’s too soon to make any prediction ….

If I feel skilled because I killed some hotjoiners… yes, I do, not because I killed them, but how and in what conditions I did … died a lot too, doesn’t make me feel less skilled.

If what offended you is the skill >> build comment, I apologize, it was ot directed at anyone. Just enforcing that now pvp seems to require more skills to be successful, don’t agree on that?

You don’t even know how your build works. Pro tip – if you hover over the tooltip it will actually tell you how many boons you’re getting. Arrmour of earth gives you 4 boons insantly, something great to have when there are necros running around. On top of that you have EA, EC and other boons. Only two boons? Please read your skills.

You also use tornado, lol.

You have 13K hp, any necro will get through that no problem and no condi clear will save you.

You have absolutely zero clue about your build, you have no clue about the competitive scene and you run to forums saying how much it’s about skill and that you’re so much skilled because you kill hotjoiners. Really?

It doesn’t offend me, it kittenes me off when people like you are on a crusade on forums to make themselves feel better. You’re literally the only person who’s been posting how ele is good now. Mind stop giving them more ideas to nerf the class?

Once again, when you start facing decent people, let me know how much your build works.

lol cause casting Armor of earth before heading a necro is a “Great idea” … once again skills …. playing ele now is more than smashing buttons on availability xD

I guess you are scared of eles getting more nerfs, …. why would they get nerfede is they are now the trash you claim they are… no point on arguing anymore, only time will tell… we can save this topic and come back to see what happened…. … so far I am hanging well againist necros, if you can’t, check your builds.

Edit: is normal to have counters too, noob advice…. avoid engaging combat with them.

Hahahah, so funny. So you’ll just have a dead skill on your bar because there might be no reaper in one game out of 10? Makes sense. And if you read the post, you would know I gave several other examples why your build is loaded with boons.

Yes, because making ele trash tier was justified and needed. The balance team clearly knows what they’re doing.

That’s exactly what people were telling to necros, do not fight eles. Somehow they didn’t like the advice. And it’s not only about necros, ele has basically nothing to offer now. You’re doing fine against necros, because you apparently test builds in hotjoin and then spam forums how good it is. Ridiculous really. Stand agaist a decent necro and you’re dead no matter what you do. Your build generates boons by just playing and that’s something every necro with a brain will punish.

Not only that, ele has been designed in a way that it IS a class dependant on boons to be remotely viable. Either offensively or defensively. An ele with no boons isn’t worth much while if they stack Boon any necro will just punish them thoroughly
Which also means that at of their skills and mechanics generate boons baseline.
You cannot have an ele without boons, but they are excessively vulnerable to condis due to small HP

This is quarterly balance patch material

You see that anet? If you’re going to only do 4 balance a year it doesn’t mean you got to laze out and spout the same kitten you did when you banned every two weeks.

4 patch a year means we need movement and THIS ^ would have been very welcome, if only to throw mesmer out of kilter and forcing major changes

Why should I play mesmer in pvp?

If I were to play PvP, I’d play Mesmer because it’s the class I enjoy. It’s a nonissue though, as I’ll be playing something else instead.

You guys are pretty passionate about jumping ship. Got it.

We’re still feeling pretty burned at the moment, for most of us, I imagine it will pass. For what it’s worth, joking and current-hard-feelings aside, I’d definitely recommend taking chrono for a ride. We’re still a fun class with fun mechanics, for all of our imposed weakness.

And hey, there’s always hope for the future, right?

Hope… Lelz

He’s right, yeah. We tend to always yell at the loudest no matter what. The changes are bad, but they’re far from really bad, comparing previous MMOs I’ve played. Seen worse. :P

So because others have it worse, it should make what we got alright and we should lower our expectations of the game?
What a kitten logic

Hope for you all to know.
Alacrity isn’t that big of a deal, half the ‘decent’ mesmers didn’t/don’t notice the difference.
Heck, half the decent mesmers don’t even need to use Alacrity.
Shatter mesmer is still viable. Why not try that out guys? Get some fresh air from all that invulnerability.

I have literally never stopped running shatter mesmer.
Most people haven’t, because Chrono Bunker was boring.

Why does everyone kittening think this is kittening about kittening chrono kittening bunker on this kittening website?

kitten chrono bunker. kitten it straight into hell.

BUT GIVE ME AN ACTUAL ROLE TO kittenING PLAY IN PvP

++++++++++1
It needs more kittening kitten in that post.
People have such a short kittening memory, did anyone read that release note about mesmer? Did any of these people kittening thought it was a good and deserved balance? Where’s our kittening shatter mesmer viability when our kittenING Burst barely do tolerable damage compared to power creep? What’s the kittening point in rolling mesmer when you have to kittening put twice as hard the effort for not even half of the reward.
And then we get one kittening boring build, waayyy too rewarding that not one dude liked and then we kittening don’t have a right to complain about seeing our class swallowed by a black hole.
Being told that : we finally have to play with skills again and we should stop complaining because our op days are gone.

What a kittening load of bullkitten. Didn’t you see patch note anyone? There’s almost not a SINGLE thing in this godawful balance that doesn’t weaken mesmer.
But yeah we had bunker so kitten us I guess.

Everyone's complaing

Then tell me which build we have? Viable?
Shatter? We barely make it into the 10-15k dps and that’s going full zerker
Bunker?alacrity got nerfed so hard illusion line gives more CDR than chrono
Condi? Ah, what a joke. Scepter still trash.
Boon bot? Maybe, but our resistance got nerfed and it’s cancelled by Boon corrupt necro
But yeah still got mom and portal. Op please nerf I guess?

Still looking for the skill you mentioned with all passive and cc spam going on… Seriously April 2014 needed more skill than that
DHUUMFIRE needed more skill than that godkitten

It’s the laziest balance I have seen. They took what they assume was a problem, gutted it to oblivion, shaved a couple of things out of the way who didn’t need it, applied band aids like fix to few irrelevant things while over buffing what they wanted to shine.
May I add that while they gutted down some things, they clearly didn’t see the need of fixing what was dependant on said gutted things, nerfign it twice harder (alacrity anyone?)
Oh and the fact that for one of the four balance patch we’ll get this year, the change made to classes are abysmal?

First balance that makes me feel like actually crying lolll, Why is it that all classes cannot get balanced? I’m looking at other game, mainly blade and soul these days, where I feel like all the kittening 9 available classes are actually balanced in a proper way.
But yeah no, anet rather like getting high and destroying everything with a bulldozer while repairing with. Band aid
If anyone was telling me to go in a building held with only kittening glue, I would look at him and tell him to go kitten himself.
We’ll anet, you’re gluing your game together while removing all kind of solid foundation you had and then act like it’s rock solid and stable like Egypt s pyramid.
They take their community for granted that’s the problem and most will just roll around, thrown like tennis ball from class to class imposed by Anets FoTM
We’ll I’m not. The game is freshly uninstalled. You just lost a player that had been loyal since early beta.
See yall when there’s a new DEV team in town

But the people who enjoy the game arent on the forums, since there is no reason too. Also, If you dont enjoy the game anymore maybe you should move to a different game? Ive been playing for about a year, pretty much only PVP and have been pleased with most of the patches. I dont think this game will ever be as competitive as league of legends or anything like that but it seems most the problems on the forum are L2P issues. Games change, every pvp game has changes and you need to adapt to them or you will be left behind.

You’ve been here since a year… you know barely nothing of what this game went through and how bad it is since… exactly a year.
Don’t tell me to adapt, I have.
COntinuously for three years, I’ve been here and adapted to every meta regardless of what went through
But this is a joke to everyone. A quaterly balance patch with no more than what we had bi-monthly before.
I’m already off the game, on B&S, which is quite enjoyable.

Anet,s balance is a joke to everyone. Gut classes and elevates other until they make a full circle, rinse and repeat.
This is not balance.
You’ll open your eyes one day.

Balance Patch 26th January - This is it?

As others said: for a balance that will happen three times a year, I expected EACH class to look like at least the whole post concerning classes…
we got hundred or so abilities and tweaks possible and you give us a kittening 5% on mesmer scepter trait, slaps on some torment and BAM scepter rework…

And that’s not taking into account every other classes.
I’m very disappointed by what I saw.

You’re not the only one. Blade and Soul in korea managed to balance 5vs5 conquest. Idk how they can fail to balance so hard. I’ve never played such a balanced game in terms of pvp / openworld pvp before. Black Desert coming out soon <3.

No, but foreal. Jokes aside. Sometimes I just wonder if the balance team play their own game. For instance, their changes are something a regular player could easily figure out. What’s more disappointing is that the changes will remain for another 3 months, and by then people have found* " THE ULTIMATE BUILD THAT MAKES YOU UNSTOPABLE"* aka will be posted on metabattle. That is “where” the potential in the class shines, not some scrubby build the devs are running to test out.

Give it time, and I will promise you there’s something majorly wrong with this balance patch.

I don’t need time, I ALREADY know there’s something wrong.
Or did you mean beside the CLEAR lack of content for a quarter of the balance patch we’ll have this year?

There are actually quite a few changes have people actually read the patch notes?

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-January-26-2016/first#post5946360

Just go back to release history, back to 2013,2012… where they STILL made balance patch twice a month or so… Around same length and sometimes even less (minus some patches who were less meaningful) in term of actual changes…

In four months they don’t find MORE things to fix rather than in two weeks? I hardly find this believable. Especially we already have 25% of our balance we’ll get this years.

If you’re going to do LESS balance updates, AT LEAST put more content in it.

Will the pvp forums ever be satisfied?

Is it really that hard to just enjoy the game m8s? If pvp is “so bad” why do you play gw2?

Because you’re satisfied with this quatterly balance patch? They’ll do this four time a YEAR and we get what we had two times a month two years back.
What a dev team…
They don’t even seem to know what they are doing, toying with skills and gutting them or overpowering them.

The game is going downhill and Anet is actively playing its part.
I’ve played this game since release, I’ve NEVER spent so much (time and money) in a game and I loved it, but looking at it today.
It’s not even a shadow of what it was. Anet are killing their game.
I’ve never had so little fun. I could spent a whole day playing and it was amazing.
Now, thirty minutes and I’m sick of it.
I don’t mind jokes, but I don’t quite appreciate when I’m feeling like I’m made into one.
And Anet makes me feel like it’s just that, one big joke to them.

Well then maybe I’ll go somewhere I feel a bit more appreciated and respected as a customer.

Not all players will be satisfied, but most people are satisfied; for example: active players not complaining on forums or writing support tickets.

As long someone plays the game, then he/she likes it, otherwise that someone would not play the game in the first place (except for testing purposes).

And think what you like, but the actual active community is usually the one in forums, commenting on things.
When there’s this much feedback being QQ, then maybe it,s time to look at it and see that there may be a problem underneath it all…
Especially when Devs promised us transparency and communication and we have NOTHING of the likes.
I kept hopeful for a long time, but every single thing is just disappointing me further. Maybe some people likes the game like that, with it’s mindless CC and passive removing most if all gameplay and rewarding fights off the game, but it’s not for me. Not with the endless powercreep, not with Anet’s “idea” of balancing is periodically gutting class to trash-tier and upping others to god-tier without any form of happy middleground, not when they are hovering between meta extremes of bunker/burst/condi and mindless CC spam and boon generation.

That’s not the game that caught my eyes when I first played.
