It seemed like she just got knocked out, maybe some hemorrhaging. It’s really not complicated. She hit her head, he didn’t. He fell on his leg weird and it broke. They didn’t fall identically… I have no idea why you’re so confused with this. o___O Why would you assume they fell the same way? Or got hit by an identical amount of force?

Killing Mordremoth would be considered a good thing. By, like… everybody. Why would she make an enemy of everyone in Tyria before killing Mordremoth? The two things wouldn’t even be linked. If her intent in the long run was to kill Mordremoth, she could have come forth with the info she’d found on his whereabouts and her ideas to kill him, and gotten HELP instead of doing everything herself while getting kitten wrecked by Lion’s Arch.

My impression from her journal, and I really can’t see it being many other ways, is that she was being controlled by Mordremoth. In his sleep his mind poked around, found a vulnerable sylvari, and fried her brain into being her servant. He could then whisper subtle hints into her subconsciousness on how to wake him up, or similar.

Crazyface Scarlet viewed her work in waking Mordremoth as a grand way of loosing a great chaos into the world, which easily fits into everything else she was doing. I just really can’t see any motivation for her wanting to kill him, other than to shut up the voice inside her head. Then again, the journal ended with something like, “The voice still speaks to me, but I am no longer afraid.” I don’t feel like looking the quote up for exact wording, but that seems to me to state that after a while he wasn’t the mosquito in her ear that he was initially.

So the Synergetic Tempered Spinal Blades backslot skin is just amazing. I want it!
But I’m not super sure how to get it, and Dulfy doesn’t seem to have anything up just yet (given that the patch just hit and all). Google hasn’t been much help yet either.

So has anyone figured out how to craft any of these yet? Do you have to craft a basic one, then upgrade it somehow perhaps?

So far I have the Spinal Blade Pack Blueprint from combining the four pieces, and it reads:

Combine in the Mystic Forge with Blade Shards, Radiant Dust, and Iron Ingots to create a Spinal Blade Pack back item.

That sounds like it’s just the basic one… I’m not sure if I want to use 250 Iron Ingots and Piles of Radiant Dust when I could possibly be combining it with something else to make it glowy.

None of your concerns are anything I’ve ever heard about LS content in WvW, lol…

Most PVEers who hate this sort of thing hate it because they hate PVP.

Think about it this way. If you don’t play PVP, you’re probably not good at PVP, at least by comparison to someone who plays PVP almost every day. In the event of the JP in EB, when they had the LS content in there it was easy for the big PVP players to, essentially, keep PVEers from being able to do the content. For the people who get into PVP the competition of, “Ohohoho, u cant troll me i keel u >:D” race to the end of the JP was fun. But for the people who don’t stand a chance, it just set the whole thing up for obnoxious gameplay.

I’ve been in two overflows where we downed the Marionette, so it is very possible.

As for the Wurm event…

Where do you go in LA to do the story content, or any of the story content (not the bosses)?
All I got was a letter saying to go check out the areas where the new bosses spawn. Standing around in Lornar’s Pass waiting for a boss that I’m told to expect to just DC from isn’t much fun.

I agree, two hours is too long when the content is temporary and plagued with DCs.

Here’s my prediction on the parts, with the last 2 being my hopes.

Part 1: The new world bosses are unleashed by Scarlet, we find something that leads us to understand her evil plot.

Part 2: We try to circumvent her plot, and end up discovering her evil lair, with the Pact working together along with Marjory, Rox, Braham, and Kasmeer to dispel the defenses so we can get inside.

Part 3: We reach the inner sanctum, and destroy her lair, with her playing with our minds again, only for us to reach the end and find out she’s off to finalize her plan.

Part 4: We face off against her in a final showdown of epic proportions, only to realize that her death was the last cog in her plan, leading to the revival of Mordramoth, the Jungle Dragon.

Next Living Story Arc: We’re off to the Maguuma Jungle to stop this dragon before he reeks havoc!

I will be okay with this plan, if the first thing Mordramoth does is growl, “lol thx scarlet” and then bite her in half.

I just look at it from a writer’s perspective. How to make something as vast as Guild Wars to develop into a more interesting story. This would include playing with the hearts of the readers (us players), bringing moments where the readers cry out in accomplishment after an epic event, or something rather.

To me, the ultimate plot twist would be to have Caithe fall to the Nightmare Court, yet even still, I feel like we could have a star wars moment where Caithe is tempted by the nightmare, but isn’t 100% converted, so that’s where that mission to save Caithe could come in.

There isn’t partial conversion, once they’re part of the Nightmare they can never be saved from it.

Unless you mean she almost joins or something, that could work. You know, I just realized I have no idea what’s involved in the actual conversion process itself… I like to think it’s a lot of paperwork. Maybe there can be another Geico commercial with Dikembe Mutombo smacking the pen out of her hand. Man, they’ll never get Faolain to sign a policy after that…

It might sound odd, but I think I would like Scarlet a lot more if Caithe would actually kill her. Not because I hate her and a dead Scarlet is better than a living one to me (maybe it’s a small factor… xD), but moreso because it would be ANet acknowledging her limits. If she finally has a dying realization of humanity (err… sylvari-y?) and her failings, it would help balance her so much better.

At that point, I would be more than happy to see her spirit live on as the Mad King’s kitten side kick.

This feels like a troll post, but I’ll bite this time.

Canach wasn’t really a villain, he awoke the Karka by accident the first time, and while his methods were really dumb, he was still doing what he thought was right in the Secret of Southsun. He still has potential.

Caudecus wasn’t behind the Separatist plot in his manor. (at least I got that impression) And while his plots were easily foiled, he’s managed to cover his tracks well enough that we can’t get rid of him yet.. people are probably more interested in the White Mantle/Mursaat, who he might be working with.

While Zhaitan’s last stand was pitiful, he still rose an entire sunken continent and its dead population. That takes effort.

While Kudu is pretty much a bland nemesis for Zojja, it is somewhat personal if you picked an asuran character who had the weather device as their first invention.

Sorrow’s Embrace shows him as the first to get the dredge to work with them, even for just a while, and shows his experiments with draconic energy. Then he gets away, to be killed in the Crucible of Eternity. Still, he found a way to control dragon minions, something that the Inquest put to use even after his death.

I’ll agree with you on Gaheron, he was bland. And he didn’t reach godhood.

Didn’t fight the Karka Queen from the first time, so can’t comment on it.

Admittedly, Faolain didn’t do much besides waiting for Caithe to show up so she could try turning her evil. Cadyern got an even worse deal than her, the guy created the Nightmare Court and he’s just Faolain’s second in command when we meet him.

Scarlet still being alive doesn’t exactly mean a whole lot. She has failed, with EVERY major plan she’s had. Time. And time. Again. Sure, she gave it a college effort, but really OP? You’re going to say that Scarlet is a better villain than Zhaitan because the mechanics in his fight were bad?

Please. He sunk a CONTINENT. All Scarlet did was get a bad haircut and let the world know with a proverbial megaphone that she’s got a nasty case of teen angst. Scarlet’s still alive, sure, but let’s see… She’s survived for how many years, where Zhaitan is how many centuries old?

It’s an open world event. We shouldn’t have to do anything else other than waypoint to the event to participate and then have a chance at completing the content.
If I have to organize a group before hand, it should be instanced. Mechanics should be in place to facilitate our gaming experience not hinder it.

Three things that you can do with overflow.

1) As soon as the event ends join the map and play on the map until the event starts.
2.) Join a party with someone that is in the overflow and join in.
3.) Wait until the patch week players leave. (Basically wait the non-large groups stop doing Tequatl. Wait until only the large organized groups do Tequatl)

1) Doesn’t work. I sat in an overflow for three hours, I talked to other people who’d been there for as long as seven hours. People don’t leave, they camp the event to keep trying for successes/weapon drops.

2) The people I play with are having the same issue I am. I’m in a fairly large guild (Absolute Legends), but the times that I’ve been on haven’t seemed to synch up with them.

3) That’s probably what I’m going to have to do. Kind of stinks, but I’m not really sure of another solution outside of ANet completely rehauling the overflow system. Not going to hold my breath on that one xD

I haven’t been able to try it, but from how it sounds I’m not super excited about it. I’m not bothered by the challenge, but rather because it’s a challenge that relies on a large amount of people. I don’t trust a large zerg to pay attention, listen to mechanics, follow instructions, etc.

The lag is also pretty bad in the larger events, so skilled play becomes that much more difficult. You can say “Get a better computer” but saying that doesn’t magically put money in our pockets. Some of us can’t afford full on gaming rigs.

We’ll see, I’m just worried that putting this much faith in the hands of a zerg of mostly average players is a bit unrealistic. Time will tell, and like I said, I haven’t fought Tequatl yet so it’s hard for me to back up any real kind of opinion.

I doubt they would require T7 mats to craft (for existing legendary weapons). Lots of players going for legendaries acquire a little bit every day, and suddenly changing the required materials would kitten them off.

1) What menace? The Elder Dragons? She’s on a mass-murdering spree, she’s as bad as they are. Nothing in any part of what we’ve seen of Scarlet strikes me as trying to save Tyria. The very, very opposite.

2) Who is making sylvari puppets? The short story was all about her rejecting the very core of what sylvari are and come from. If you mean the Pale Tree, I would say that going on a mass killing spree to make a statement about not wanting to do what the Pale Tree kindly asks of her spawn is a bit of an overreaction, don’t you think? Not to mention that she’s started her onslaught in DR. If her agenda was against the Pale Tree and the Nightmare, why is she not targeting them?

3) Stubborn, more like closed-mindedly pigheaded. Clever, more like unrealistically intelligent beyond belief. Open minded? Absolutely not. Independent, sure. And proud of what?

So was the Mad King back in the day. It was complete lunacy one day out of the year and nobody minded it then. Everything about that holiday was cartoonish and it wasn’t until the recent “Mad King’s Shadow” where he became instead more sinister in cast with the method of his reveal.

The majority of people hate her because she has shown no weaknesses other than a lolshot at cannonballs. She’s wildly unrealistically good at everything, graduating from all three asura colleges and mastering combat styles from just about every race in what? Ten years, maybe? Yeah, okay.

She’s just a boring, poorly constructed character that reeks of a 12 year old’s Gaia Online RP character. I’m waiting for ANet to also announce that she’s an Elementalist in addition to everything else who discovered and mastered the “shadow element.”

Caithe and Faolain’s story just came off as generic to me, Logan fell in love with Jennah out of… absolutely nowhere (unless mesmer magic, which I suppose isn’t out of the question)… I don’t really mind Eir, Zojja or Rytlock.

I don’t really care for “insane” characters in general, since people seem to think that insanity = being a genius. It’s not. Seems like everyone is jumping on that bandwagon after the Dark Knight, ugh.

I think people should think of this as a sports stadium. Sporting events change and are only for scheduled dates.
