I don’t honestly recall anything in Kryta being overly buggy when compared to anything else. But since the patch hasn’t hit yet, I don’t think anyone can answer that question for you.

More on the tank Necro comment, I was in the same boat myself for a while. Have you tried using a PTV build but with Death Shroud in the mix? I’m at work so I don’t remember the name of the trait offhand… (Deathly Precision, I think? GM Trait in Soul Reaping) that increases your crit rate in DS by 50%.

Not much of a news flash, but with mostly Soldier gear and some Knight’s in the mix for an extra kick of Precision and Crit Damage, I do really well. Lifeforce fills insanely quickly with MH Dagger and I can jump in and out of DS to blast the bejesus out of things. It’s a really fun hybrid build.

God, I wish I wasn’t at work with site blockers so I could link the build… I just thought you might be interested. It’s still insanely tanky and Life Blast hits like a truck.

I don’t think that’s the direction the devs would want to take dungeons. Or anyone but 1337 CoF farmers. In what world would balancing every class for ONE build and ONE playstyle be a good thing? Wouldn’t the better decision be to attempt to balance the game for a multitude of playstyles?

People say the only skilled players are those who Zerk all the way and those who use anything else are deluded. But to me, if Zerker is the optimal way to go, wouldn’t dungeon delving be more impressive when done with the build YOU want to use without a hitch? I play with a core group of good buds all the time, and we’ve destroyed just about everything we come across without a problem. I play a tank Necro, wife plays a grenade Engi, friend #1 plays a tanky Warrior, friend #2 plays a spectral/condition hybrid Necro, and we rotate in randoms for our fifth or just four-man things. We occasionally wipe a few things when we’re on our first run of something, but with anything we’ve done before we faceroll.

I think people confuse “speed farming PVE” with normal “I’m playing a game with friends PVE.” Both are valid playstyles.

Before you invest your votes, I’d like you to remind that all of the Living Story mini-dungeons we got so far had a strong robot/golem presence, in short a sci-fi theme, to them. Thaumanova will be just the same – more golems cat-eared or not, automated security systems, complicated control consoles, hi-fi speaker systems, power fluxes and of course a crapton of Inquest goons.

It’s fun while you’re alive, but I think there needs to be more to do when you’re a ghost. As someone mentioned, the motes are slim pickings. If I die early I mighhhht have enough to summon a karka by the end of the match, but even then, the karka isn’t even that dangerous.

I’m voting Kiel, not because I like her better (I hate her compared to Evon, who seems interesting), but because of the rewards. I don’t buy BL Keys, so waypoints are a better reward for me.

Thaumanova is also much more interesting to me, mostly because of the reasons listed by the OP. If you think this is a silly, stupid reason go ahead and throw opinions at me. Watch as I actively I don’t care, because I’m in-game putting more votes in Kiel’s box.

I’m completely torn both ways, and I honestly don’t see any reason to believe that ANet tried to slant this.

I personally like Evon more than Kiel, just because Kiel gives off the typical chick cop vibe to me. Just a personal opinion, she just never grabbed me as a super interesting character.
Evon on the other hand is a devious, snarky cat. I can’t hate that! xD Heck, I own two of those at home…

At the same time I feel like, as a Fractal runner, I should make my decision based on that instead… But I can’t decide which sounds more interesting! Gods duking it out versus another asura-based fractal. Asura are my favorite race, so it’s just… really a difficult decision. xD

In the end I’ll probably just pick Evon. I don’t know. I’m too indecisive.

Because most people seem to like Lion’s Arch, and it’s the hub city?

It matters, but we all pretty much know exactly what happened at the Mouth of Torment.

The Asura dug too deep. Found the Mursaat, Mursaat in return retaliated got rid of any witnesses.

That would explain why they’re adding Ascended so soon for armor and weapons too.

Incorrect grammar grinds my gears too, but harassing and correcting others who aren’t asking for it is, in my opinion, worse. It’s a game, and people are here to have fun.

No one wants to be corrected, especially not while relaxing and playing a game. No one even gains anything from the correction. It’s just annoying. Player 1 isn’t going to be eternally grateful because he now knows how to spell ‘effigy.’ Hell, it was probably just a typo from typing too quickly. It just makes Player 2 sound annoying and snooty.

Now the idiots who type in a way that isn’t coherent, that’s something else entirely. An example being, “lol yu gusy wnna run codf later im doin path1 probly a few tiems.” I would have to read that probably a few times just to get the general idea of what the person even wants, and someone needs to say something. He’s not going to get a party if no one knows that he’s looking for one, lol. Or where he wants to go.

TL;DR – I think people tend to be too harsh on typos. It’s not a big deal. If you can understand what’s being said easily, leave it be.

Lets start with Flame and Frost. In it we see the very unlikely dredge and Flame Legion allaince, the Molten Alliance. Their goal does seem conquest oriented but much of their focus was on developing an amalgum of magic and engineering. When attacking their facilities we find they are using slaves to mine a substance called Azurite that seems to have the properties of being able to conduct magical energy and seems to be part of how their technology works.

In the wake of this we find out another fact. It was a third party that arranged the allaince and though we know what the dredge and Flame Legion were after this third group remains out of sight including what it got out of the deal.

Secrets of Southsun was a break in the story used to introduct Keil and Kasmeer.

With the Dragon bash festival we are introduced to said festival. At the height of the festival, an act of sabotage kills one of the leader of LA and introduces a new enemy, the Aetherblades who we all know are sky pirates. Unmasking Mai as the murderer we discover that the Aetherblades saught to secure a place on the Captian’s Council.

Now the interesting part. In attacking their base of operations we discover three facts. One is that the Inquest is supporting them. Second is that the Aetherblades themselves lack the skills to mantain their gear by themselves (Keil states this). Third, we discover Mai, leader of the Aetherblades, has a boss, Scarlet.

Now we have two groups with someone manipulating them from the shadows.

The festival ends with Mai telling us that the Aetherblades arent done yet.

Now we have the Bazaar of the Four Winds. Theres alot to the story and lore of the Zephyrites. Infact the Zephyrites may have something of increadable value.

So now we have a group working from the shadows. connected to the Inquest, and who have recently formed a force of Sky Pirates, and a sky ship potentially holding artifacts and knowledge of great power…..

And thats ignoring Mr E., Marjory and Kasmeer’s connection to the corruption in the Ministary in DR, the politics of LA and the personal stories of Braham and Roxx.

And people say theres no story in the Living World story…..

I think the issue is more that people are missing the threads of the story for whatever reason.

A lot people seem to skip all the dialogue, cutscenes, don’t talk to NPCs and then start screaming that they don’t get it. That’s like falling asleep in a movie, waking up halfway through, and getting angry with the filmmakers for not explaining the story well enough.

In my opinion, it depends on the case. If someone just comments about, “Man, tough competition in here!” or something I’ll offer to hold back if he needs the achievement, or if someone seems upset that I’m continuously placing first or something I may let them ahead of me.

But if they’re being a jerk and whining about it, then no, I’ll keep playing just because of that. The achievement is in place for people to defeat other players for a reason, it’s the idea behind the achievement. And if you’re going to whine and complain about me being an kitten or something for playing as intended, then no.

It’s the same as finding duelers in sPVP matches not set up for dueling. If someone says, “Please stop, we’re dueling,” I’ll apologize and back off. I mostly just sPVP for my daily and when I’m bored, I’m not a win hoarder. But if they immediately jump to, “F***ING STOP OMG WERE DUELING DUMB***” then I’ll happily kill them just because they’re being obnoxious. How was I supposed to know you were trying to duel/get the 1st place achievement for hours/etc.?

Then explain how my wife and I failed every time, time and time again, until we used the strategy Dulfy suggests. Then afterward, we both beat him twice within five matches with him using that strategy and paying more attention. Someone doesn’t savor the flavor in each sip.

There is a lot of luck involved, I’ll agree that anyone saying that luck isn’t a serious factor is indeed deluded, but strategy is just as strong a variable.

Yeah, the model is cool, but honestly I don’t know if I’ll ever really do anything with it. I watched it once to see how it worked, then put it in my bank. Something like a mini would have been cooler, I think.

Just finished all of the Belcher Achievements today… I feel like an idiot, I actually had the most trouble with the charr xD;; Adnul was really tricky though. I used Dulfy’s strategy and with a bit of luck you should be able to get it within 5 or so tries. But again, it’s luck, so it could end up being way more than that.

Yeah, I think they’re the same or not far apart.
Also, does anyone know the drop rate for the backslot items? I’ve run it I think only about twenty times and looted two of them already. Not complaining at all, but man, drop rates seem to be much better than previous events! May just be dumb luck.

I may give this a shot then after all! It was a nightmare getting it during the Aetherblades LS and swore I’d never go back, hopefully there’s some of this attitude for us Tarnished Coasters I only attack people in there if I’m attacked first, but I haven’t had as much luck with other players.

I may end up trying for the full 52 at some point, I stopped at 40 for the achievement xD I’ve been a bit lazy this event.

I thought the Halloween Clocktower was way harder than the jumping in Bazaar. And I really only see the bugginess in platforming in the Dashing minigame, everywhere else seems fine to me.

What part of the Bazaar are you having a hard time with?

I’m getting a lot of rubber banding as well. A lot of times when I hit the #2 Dash ability as well, it’ll make my character look like they trip for just a moment and won’t dash forward at all. Yet I still lose my endurance… Y n Y ;;

This is where I differ, weren’t the pick, sickle and axe 800 gems in the BLTC? I’d say that those are far more useful than infinite access to a minigame that you’ll break out every now and then compared to gathering tools you use every day. And 800 gems typically comes out to… what, 20g or so? That’s a fifth of what you’ll pay for the mini-game, that’s where I think the 100g is unjustified. It’s just so much more, and even people who play every day don’t typically have 100g in their bank collecting dust to drop on something so random like this. I mean, 100g is a SERIOUS leg-up on a Legendary, lol. It just doesn’t add up as being an appropriate price, in my opinion.

I think what would have worked better would have been to have this as a reward for getting the 16 achievements for the event, and then having the little model just there as a reward for completing the story portion.

Man, I wish I had the luck of running with you guys! For the longest it was me and two other people, and I don’t know whatttt that guy who got 1st every time was on. But sweet crap, he was good. The guy in second would always beat me by a good bit too (this was at like…4am, so I was playing like a doped up bear in the zoo, lol).

In any case, every game once those two would get to the end, they’d grief me endlessly with powerups. I don’t think they realized they were wasting their own time by making the matchups last longer.

So finally at the end I did a little /dance before the finish line and moonwalked slowly across. Little showmanship, yeah? ;D

It’s gotten to the point that JP’s are a major part of the game, and that’s that. To be fair, this is an action MMO, not your run-of-the-mill, stand there and click through rotations MMO. This is to be expected. If you don’t like moving, dodging, platforming, then action MMO’s are just not going to be your genre of choice. It’s an integral part of the game design, and I very heavily doubt that it’s going anywhere.

As for the Quartz, has anyone seen if you can join a friend in a home instance and mine their Quartz if you don’t have one in your own?

I wonder if they’ll be good for Daily Gatherer :0

Can someone tell me more about this token system? Is it that you get tokens for winning the dash or something, and you can buy the armor skins with the tokens? I know about the weapons with achievements, but I’m still confused on the armor skins.
