I’m so glad i didn’t buy HoT… after reading so many reviews / forum posts , confirming many of the things i was expecting to come… there is a good chance that I will not be coming back the the game any time soon. last time i logged in was at the end of July, and i still have no desire to play this game again.

I expected the elite trait line to cost the same as other trait lines. After all the elite is no better than regular professions. The mastery system is what should take a lot of time.

But this game has a “No Grind” philosophy. I heard and read the devs saying so over and over. So your argument cant possibly be valid!… right?

I have not purchased and will not purchase hot.

I have not logged into the game since the end of august, but I still keep an eye on the forum just in case something makes me want to start playing again.

If that happens I suppose I will spend all my time in WvW.

This scrapper is completely disappointing to me.. it needs a LOT of work… and the saddest part is we probably won’t get any love since HoT comes out in just a few weeks…

Way to go ANET!!! wait until the last possible moment to reveal something major… now there isnt enough time to take in our feedback and make all the changes this class desperately needs…

Look at Roy and how much feedback he was able to consider and work from with the Revenant!!! .. Look at how wonderful the Rev is turning out thanks to a Dev that listens to feedback and gets the time to actually do something about it…

Engi elite will be called “Forge” ? ? where did you get this information?
I dont like the name if thats what it is… I prefer “Juggernaut”, or “Demolitionist”

I like this. I haven’t even seen the outfit yet but I like it already.
Its all fluff / cosmetic. Nothing game breaking and nothing huge…

But it’s a simple way to show appreciation for Vet players.

LMAO!! yea because Achievement Points is an accurate way to read a player’s skill. /endsarcasm. There are so many Leets like ^ that in this game and people still like say things like “GW2 has one of the best communities out there….” Not even close… not with people like that becoming the norm.

They are a plague on any game they touch. A disease that spreads very quickly. Just look at the LFG window… completely full of things like that… “No Newbs”, “Experienced Only”, “6000 AP +”, “Ping Gear” … I feel like people like that forget that this is a game… and games serve one purpose… Fun / Entertainment.

Some of these snobs have the nerve to say “No Newbs” on completely new content that no one has played yet… what kind of logic is that?

I like all the restrictions except for one….

Guildleaders already can control who accesses the guild vault….

So why are Free accounts locked out of this feature??

If i invite my friends to join GW2 then I want them to “feel at home” within my guild.

This is a weird limitation.. Just allow GuildLeaders to maintain full control of vault access like it has been for years.

It seems like its gonna be very fun!

Yea so far I find it pretty underwhelming.

You know how, Once a year on Black Friday, Every store has pretty much everything on sale at hugely discounted prices?? Well I always expect something like that when I hear “yearly sale”. You know what they say… It’s not officially a sale until at least one store employee gets trampled to death.

3 whole years… Maybe Im being too generous here but I feel that any player who has been with GW2 for 3 whole years deserves:

1. A 3rd anniversary weapon skin of their choice.

2. A title

3. A 20 slot bag

Yep, I love when games go all out and do real anniversary parties.
It’s all fluff but very fun and I find myself looking forward to it most times.

I quit the game for almost a year when Traits 2.0 + NPE was around.
They finally fixed traits and now I’m playing again… casually… but I am “back”.

Every week or so I get really close to leaving for good when I gather up all my rare weapons and flush away my dreams down the Mystic Toilet.

The RNG in this game is absolutely miserable… 4 Rares should give 1 exotic 100% of the time. 4 rares is a very generous trade-off for 1 exotic…

I never understood why Anet does that. Its not like they have limited shelf space to store their digital items. To me it makes more sense to have everything available all the time so that the players have more stuff to buy…

There have been many times when an item that I want debuts on the gem store, but didn’t have the money that week. So the next paycheck I have some extra funds and the item i wanted is gone. So i use that money to buy something from another game. (LoL champ skins usually…) …

That money could have been Anet’s but they lost out..

But the buyers don’t really have a choice. Those are the prices set by the greedy ones, and they are not gonna drop.. In fact they will get even more expensive.

If the price of that dye is 1000g and remains constant. (it will be 1000g forever).

Then a non-greedy person that wants the dye would grind until they have 1000g, then buy that dye… then use it.. the end.

but the greedy people I’m referring to Already have 50,000 gold, and they Already have that dye. They don’t need it… But they buy them… they buy them all… and re-sell for even higher… for what purpose?

They already have more gold than they will ever need… but they want more.

That is the kind of disgusting greed in people I was referring to.

You are aware that you can get every single currently available skin without ever having to use RNG, right?

You mean people that buy the skins with RNG and then sell it on the TP at ridiculously high prices? or is there another way? (ps. This thread is about the things we would like to see on the Gem store… this is what i would like to see on the gem store.)

Yep. I decided long ago that I will not Purchase / Pre-purchase HoT until I, at the very least, see all of the Elite specs. I don’t know why they are being so secretive about it or why it’s taking them so long.

Maybe someone that works in marketing / sales can tell me. Does a product sell more when the consumer knows less about what they’re buying or more about what they’re buying?

For me the game gets boring for two reasons:

1. PVE is extremely repetitive and uninteresting, with extremely boring rewards.

- Levels 1-80, the goal is the get XP and level up. Which involves doing boring, repetitive hearts, map completion, or world events. While doing these things I often find myself in a Zombie state, or autodrive mode. Just absentmindedly pressing buttions and moving on to the next thing that will get me XP.

- After level 80 is reached, the goal then become to gear up and get cool stuff. This is where the game fails miserably for me. The drop rate on all the coolest things that I want are so impossibly low, that there is almost no hope to get them through random drops. That leaves only one option. Mindless, monotonous grinding for gold, and buying it on the TP. < not my idea of fun in anyway.

2. Elitism is getting pretty bad in this game.

- While GW2 community is certainly not the worst I’ve ever experienced… (cough SWTOR) … it’s definitely not the best gaming community out there.

- Dungeon Runners (not all) are the worst. I love running dungeons in MMOs. I find them fun and exciting and rewarding. But here, Elitism rules the dungeons: You must be full zerker! You must be level 80! You must have run this path 1000 times before! You must skip everything and speedrun! And the worst one, You must have 8000+ AP! < lol what the heck does AP have to do with anything?

- This kind of thing is far too common in this game and completely kills my joy for Dungeons. Rather than feed the Leets, I just avoid Dungeons as much as I can.

The game is ok in small doses, but it quickly loses its appeal for me because of those two reasons.

I agree, the new LA is nice but very inconvenient. I just park most of my characters in Ratasum where everything is in a nice neat triangle close together.

yea that happened to me too. A Thief and a Mesmer were just instantly deleting me with no opportunity for a reaction on my part. No amount of Toughness and Vitality could save me from those cheap tactics.

Maybe a possible solution is to make Tanky builds better? I don’t know, maybe something that makes toughness very noticeable when you build that way. Right now it doesnt seem to do a whole lot of good. I do ok with just about any other class because I can see them coming. But those perma-stealth, insta-burst classes seem unfair to me.

My request for the gem sto’ is that Weapon skins and Armor Skins be available to purchase directly. Not that lame BL Lottery box thing that Anet is obsessed with. There are so many cool skins that I will never ever have because Im not stupid enough to spend millions of dollars on keys in hopes of receiving some BL tickets.

Just sell the friggin skins directly in the Sto’ or just make BL Tickets a guaranteed item from every BL box.

I’d like to see:

Class > Specialization > Weapon > Brief Description

Mesmer > Minstrel/Bard > Lute/Warhorn > Control the battlefield with powerful music

Elementalist > Spellsword > Sword/Axe > Enchant your weapons with the elements for different effects

Necromancer > Undertaker/DeathKnight > 2handed Axe > Uses brute strength to overcome enemies and control their souls for a short while after death. . Would have the same mechanic as a normal ranger pet)

Engineer > MechWarrior > 1handed Hammer > Uses superior mechanical skills to build powerful Mobile Turrets and War-machines to lead the charge in battle.

Ranger > Sniper > Rifle > Can utilize the environment to take cover and fire off powerful long distance rounds. Taking cover grants stealth as long as no action is taken and the Sniper remains still.

Thief > Delete > I hate Thieves > Thieves should be removed from the game… I hate thieves.

Warrior > Dragoon/ Lancer > Landspear/Halberd > Uses quick and accurate long reaching strikes to devastate opponents. Also is able to remain extremely mobile on the battlefield through jumps, thrusts, and sprints.

Guardian > Monk > Bowstaff > Highly trained in advanced hand to hand combat. Can overcome his opponents through discipline and focus. The Monk becomes Centered while in combat. The longer a fight takes, the more Centered he becomes until he reaches Enlightenment. Once enlightened, The monk deals more damage, takes less damage, and all his attacks shoot medium distance pulses of light energy, for a short while.

hmmm… if guesting would allow WvW on another server that your home server isn’t currently matched against…. then why not? … what harm would that do?

I will say this. About a year ago I had about 50 Hoelbrak Runes in my vault. At that time they were only like 20silver each. Ive since then gotten rid of all of them.

Now If I look at the TP… those things are worth more than 10Gold each…

Not necessarily a bad thing. No one likes an empty server. Just annoys me when companies try to treat their customers like idiots. “oh don’t worry, we are doing well! We havent even had the need to issue server mergers yet….” … yes you have, anet.

I really don’t see the problem with having numbers on the top bar of the screen showing populations for each world on any given map. What exactly is the argument?

That seeing actual numbers will somehow open up a new way to cheat? How? You run into the blob once and see that the opposite team has about X number of people. Or you can just look up and see that the opposite team has X number of people.

Someone please explain how seeing numbers can give one team an advantage over another.

I would love to be able to change professions. I thought that was already a gem store item, to be honest. I wonder why they havent added this yet.

yea I think its a low number.. way lower than 500. I was in queue for EB for about an hour today before I just gave up. when I logged off I was still number 23 in queue.

Megaservers was just a fancy way of saying “server mergers” but game developers tend to be in denial about that sort of thing. To save face they kept WvW in their original servers instead of just merging those too. Their pride is more important than player happiness.

meh.. someone with a red tag is going to tell you to use the in game reporting feature.
And then nothing at all will ever get done about it.

Thats just the way it is.

I enjoy the changes. But I will say that getting one shotted by other players in WvW is no fun at all.

Thats exactly what I thought when I read the OP.

Seems like the only people defending this terrible RNG system are the ones who get exotics/precursors about once a day. lol… meanwhile so many people have been playing since launch with no such luck. I myself have only gotten a total of 4 random exotic drops since launch.. .. not Precursors… just generic exotics.

Are you implying that rich people somehow have better odds in RNG gambles? Like once you hit 1000g your rng modifier goes up or something?

That seems unlikely…

More likely is that the rich know when to stop when they are ahead and thus get richer, while the poor don’t have any economic sense so they keep gambling until they lose all their money and then complain that they are poor.

nope, just basic probability.

Let’s say the chance to hit the jackpot is 1 in a million.
A poor player could probably afford 1 ticket/dice roll/ chance. So his odds of winning the jackpot is simply 1 in a million.

A rich player can afford many more Tickets/dice rolls/chances… say 100.
His chances at winning the jackpot increased to 1 in 10,000.

I don’t know the actual odds of getting the good stuff, but yes the rich will get richer, and the poor will get poorer.

I just hate that outfits cant be worn in pieces. You have to wear the full outfit without the option to customize

Quick Question. Why do most Necros go for Green color themes…. Or Mesmers with their Purple/pink themes, or Guardians with Blue/White, Thieves with Black/Gray…

Yea I agree with what some of you said already. Its an Elite skill… shouldn’t elite skills be stronger than normal skills? Isn’t that why they are labelled “Elite” ?
