You might need to rethink your financial priorities… it’s just a game.
I’ve heard of buyer’s remorse, but never refund remorse.
I can’t see the problem.
It pretty much his melee autoattack.
It’s obvious when he gonna stabbed you // He will stop using bow and walk toward you.Just kite him with ranged weapon at that point. When he stealth bomb and go away he ususally come back with bow attack. Just keep your reflect for that.
Just learn the mob.
WHOOOSH. You missed the point. Such a powerful skill should not be an auto attack. That’s the equivalent of a warrior’s eviscerate being auto-attack. Do you not see how that is broken? It doesn’t matter if it has an obvious tell from range. You don’t see it coming if you are fighting these guys in melee (which is what I was doing when I was hit by it 3 times in a row). I imagine ArenaNet intended for such a powerful skill to have a cool down, but it doesn’t. That’s why I posted it in the bugs forum and not the general discussion of difficulty.
I talk kitten about ArenaNet all the time, but I can give them the benefit of the doubt with broken skills like this. I’m convinced it’s a bug with the skill’s cool down.
…does not seem to exist. I was recently helping to do the HP at the southwest corner of Verdant Brink, and the champ coztic bladedancer used its 3 hit stun combo on me 3 times in a row consecutively. Needless to say, I died. The first combo downed me, the second combo got my downed HP to near zero, and the third one finished me off. There was no pause, and there was no other attack used. ArenaNet you guys have got to give that skill of theirs a cooldown of some sort. Skills that powerful should not be that spammable. It is completely broken.
Reaper shroud melee attacks are a hammer.
Not going to happen, unfortunately. ArenaNet does not have the time or resources to do this. They’re focusing on LS3 and the next raid wings. After 3 years and no changes to small things like this, it’s safe to say it will never happen. I gave up on emotes a long time ago. I don’t even use them anymore because of it. ArenaNet knows this, that’s why they won’t dedicate resources to something that most players probably don’t use. Remember that the RP community is very small and is very much a niche player base.
Never. It was too much work in development and ArenaNet could not do it, lest the release date be pushed back probably another year or so. We’re lucky we can even dye armors. If you’re wondering why we could do it in GW1 but not GW2, just remember that the majority of the GW1 devs left ArenaNet during the development of GW2 to make their own game, and took their talent with them.
Endorsement of bad drinking habits...10.000!

OP, I understand that you are a very conservative individual, and there is nothing wrong with that, but to suggest that ArenaNet is subliminally telling people to consume enough alcohol to kill a person a hundred times over is foolish. By that logic all of us, including you, should have been influenced to go out into the open world (real life I mean) to kill things/people with swords and guns. Do you see how nonsensical this thought process is when you simply change the deed from drinking alcohol to playing the game/living life to gain experience and loot?
The sole reason for the large amount of alcohol requirement is profit. ArenaNet knows that the majority of people do not have the time/will to play constantly to get that many drinks without the help of the credit card. It might also be a slight nod to the GW1 drinking achievement (which also required 10,000 drinks) but that one could be worked on by using ANY alcoholic beverage year round. Ultimately it’s for profit. Look at the price of the items. Can you honestly tell me the majority of players can afford to buy them all without using a credit card? No. Most people don’t have that kind of patience and ArenaNet knows this and are betting on it. They make content with casuals in mind, not so much hardcore players. Always remember that ArenaNet is, first and foremost, a business.
Besides, natural selection is a good thing. The human race would have gone extinct thousands of years ago if not for that.
Staff ele, hammer revenant, longbow ranger, and mesmer shatter are good. Dual pistol thief and rifle warrior are decent. Longbow guardian is good if you can make clever use of the longbow with traps. Necro isn’t very good for ranged damage compared to some of the others. Engineer grenades are pretty good too.
I just wish that people would stop saying that an entire community/ethnic group/profession is ‘bad’ because of the actions of people that make up .001% of the whole. The GW2 community is not bad and is not to blame. There are kitten people in the world, but that doesn’t mean entire peoples are kitten.
Seriously, stop it.
Nope, I just purchased EVERYTHING in Tier 1. Got no progress at all. I just made an elementalist Sylvari to make the purchases (I’ve never made a scholar type Sylvari before, much less purchase cultural armor for one). There is definitely something wrong, unless it’s set up so that only Tier 3 counts?
That is possible. I will try again with something I know I don’t have on any piece/armor type. Thanks for the suggestion.
I bought 2 pieces of Sylvari cultural armor to make some progress towards the fashion achievement and got no credit for the new pieces I bought. Yes, they were pieces I haven’t acquired before. Yes, I equipped them. Is this something you guys can look into? I’d like credit for my stuff
Ah, Gene Wilder…. I couldn’t have put it better myself.
Windows 7 64 bit, 64 bit client, AMD system, playing since head start, have HoT, running Reshade and MasterEffect
If they were to add something like this then that’s fine. I personally won’t use those armor sets. Live and let live yo.

HoT is at fault. It causes frustration because of its many flaws and outright badly designed content.
Oh sure, blame a game for a very personal, first world problem people have. It is all on the player, not the game. The game is just the medium that is exposing people to ‘toxicity’. Offense is always taken, never given.

This ‘toxicity’ you speak of is highly subjective though… There are ways around it. There is a working block feature, and a chat filter.
There is also a third (and far superior) method of overcoming this ‘toxicity’ that is taking over your gaming life. You can try to be like me. You can have a strong will and constitution to not give words any power over you. This third part requires an understanding of certain things that most people will likely never understand, but it IS something attainable.
Not even 30 minutes ago, I was told in map chat that I should never breed, all because I had the audacity to tell somebody that their idea of mounts with passive speed boosts in the gem store was not a good idea. Most people would be influenced to consider thoughts of self harm, or would foolishly believe that they really shouldn’t breed. They will take these words to heart and start on a downward spiral that depletes their self-worth and self-esteem. But not me.
You know what I did? I read the comment, laughed, and continued to explain why his idea was bad. I got my point across, everyone else agreed with me, and my ‘attacker’ was silenced by the natural flow of the conversation. Some other player tried to jump to my defense, saying “Wow he says one thing and you all attack him like that?” and my response to that player was “You call that an attack?” and I politely asked that player to spare me his concerns for my well-being because the words of that other player had NO EFFECT on me. At all. There is literally NOTHING that ANYONE can say in map chat to offend me. Nothing.
So, you can complain about ‘toxicity’ all you want, or you can be the change you want to see and be like me: take back the power you gave their words over you. I recommend trying to be awesome like me. You’ll be glad you did.
Honestly I don’t like Faren. The kitten took my best roast duck and brandy and handed it out without my permission. Nevermind I saved Shaemoor, I was saving that duck for a special occasion! And now he’s become so conceited that he doesn’t even treat me like an old friend anymore. Seriously, kitten that guy.
Sorry, that was me. I bought like 10k of them.
I did not know this. I knew they threatened you, but I never thought to emote them back. That’s pretty neat. I also like this crab bully title idea. I’d do that achievement.
They are aware of the issue and it is in work. Ignore those players for now.
So I just took this screenshot of my reaper, just hanging out in LA. I just think it’s really kittening awesome. I’m an amateur artist at best, but I like to doodle/draw/color from time to time. I’m going to use this screenshot as a reference for a drawing. IF it comes out in a way that I like, I’ll be sure to share it here.
Also, I hereby give the forum permission to use this screenshot as a reference for a pose if you want. :P
I can confirm this having also made a similar mistake with the Colossus recipe…
Thanks for your input. Hopefully others find this useful, too.
I made the same mistake by opening the box on my main for Bifrost 1 because I thought I’d get the recipes as consumables not auto-consumed (my main is not an Artificer).
THANKFULLY; you can rebuy the recipe box from the Grandmaster Craftsman Gibbs for 10K karma under the ‘First Collection Chests’ tab (fifth one down in his vendor window). The chests are all accountbound so you can either buy it on the right guy or pop it in the bank for the right one to pick up.
I didn’t realize this was an option. Thank you very much for the info!
I catch your drift… but is it really that much of a hassle to just click a couple more times?
I don’t encounter gold sellers all too often. The first thing I do is block them, so that if they are spamming I don’t get the additional spam. Then I report. It’s not exactly a huge time-sink.
Yes, it really is a hassle. I love OP’s idea. My time is too important to waste more than one second on these bots. Obliterate with one click: done and done.
I finished part one of The Hunter collection, got my Chest of Technology and got the recipe to craft the experimental rifle parts. The recipe itself is labeled in such a manner that says it can be used by weaponsmiths, huntsmen, or artificers at 400. I opened it on my main, who is a weaponsmith and armorsmith at 500, and the recipe is locked to huntsman. I now have to craft to huntsman 400 just to be able to craft my components, even though I have huntsman 500 on another character. This is not cool. Why would a recipe that is locked to huntsman say that it can be used by weaponsmiths and artificers? It’s misleading. Is there a way I can get the recipe again so I can use it on my other character that has 500 huntsman? Can we give Hobbs an option to let us purchase the recipes we’ve unlocked for some coin/karma/spirit shards?
I know I know: rifle components are obviously made by huntsman and I should have known better, but the recipe mislead me into thinking it can be used by weaponsmiths or artificers because of the way it is labeled. If you need me to send in a support ticket for this matter, please let me know, ANET. I created more work for myself on accident. Please let me know before I fork over the 50g it will take me to get to huntsman 400 quickly.
So I just got the Fix-R-Upper for my account. It’s one of my favorite skins now. I’m an aircraft mechanic for the AF, so I can really appreciate a big kitten wrench like this. It’s so awesome and fitting for an engineer (scrapper). I just wanted to say thanks to the creators of the weapon, whoever they may be. I’m all giddy now. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got evil necks to torque down to 10k foot pounds. Should be super easy with my big kitten wrench
of course some gliding here and there.
Remember those updrafts in Magus Falls? In Far Shiverpeaks, there are no updrafts; they’re sideways, you see. Those air currents are crosswinds. Hope you’re up to some precision gliding, lest you get blown off course! >:D
I didn’t even think about crosswinds. Nice idea
So I had a dream last night that I was playing GW2 (a much less bugged version I might add) and we were making our way to fight Jormag. In the dream there was a new mastery where we had mountain climbing tools and abilities like hanging on to ledges, shimmying along narrow ledges, kicking off one rock wall onto an adjacent rock wall, and of course some gliding here and there. So, 3 years from now when the next expansion comes out, if it’s to take on Jormag, I hope you guys consider adding this sort of thing to the mastery system. I think it would be really neat.
Delete your character, start over.
Can someone tell me how I’m supposed to interact with the mechanics in the final boss fight when they are floating in the air? Gliding does nothing but put me under it and the interact option never comes up. I just fall, it teleports me back up in the downed state, and I have to die and start over. What the trolling hell, ArenaNet?
Anyone else having this issue? Am I missing something?
Oh, well if that is what is supposed to happen then never mind. Carry on, bugtastics.
My only real complaint with it is that there are too many NPCs hanging around there, and half the time I end up interacting with an NPC instead of the forge.
So…. are they supposed to do this? I mean, you get up onto a platform they can’t reach you at, and they teleport to you. Then, when you glide off the cliff, they follow you and walk on air and keep attacking you. The hell is up with that? I know the game is bugtastic but come on. This is just silly.
I just wish everything crafted at the same speed. Ascended stuff takes quite a while to craft. It’s even more ridiculous when it’s the time-gated stuff that you can only craft once per day.
You have a lot of catching up to do, BUT it’s definitely doable. It’s just going to require some time and effort on your part. There is no reason you can’t still enjoy playing. Hop in and join the fun. I’m sure you’ll find SOMETHING fun to do and enjoy. Beware: ascended crafting is EXPENSIVE.
I would definitely expect more weapon skins than armor skins.
I would expect a huge patch just before release, and then a second, moderately sized patch once it opens.
Q: Will HOT bring multiple CPU core usage?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Zera Allimatti.2541
Yeah, the GW2 engine is just a heavily modified version of the GW1 engine. I would like to see an upgrade as well, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s probably too expensive and time consuming to do.
HoT by default comes with one character slot, if I remember correctly. You only get the second one if you pre-purchased (as in given your money to ArenaNet, not Gamestop to hold a copy of the game for you) before a certain date. I forget the cutoff date, but even if you actually pre-purchased the game now, you won’t get the second character slot.
I imagine at most we’ll get two new armor skins for each of the armor types, excluding legendary armor, of course. I bet the armor design team spent (is still spending) more time on the legendary armors than on new base skins.
Q: Will HOT bring multiple CPU core usage?

I imagine that would require an extensive re-code of the game’s engine. I highly doubt the game will ever use multi-core CPU’s more efficiently.
Will there be no pause in HoT personal story?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I think I remember it being confirmed that the fight with Mordremoth WILL NOT come with HoT’s release. We are getting a portion of the story. I imagine we won’t be getting to fight Mordremoth until next Summer, or Spring at the earliest.
As others have already stated, you can preview ALL the game’s skins in the account wardrobe, even the ones you haven’t unlocked yet. If I remember correctly it’s in the PvP section of the game. The game already has a solution for what you want to accomplish, you just need to use it.
Here’s a flammable shield to cover yourself with if you need it.
Obviously Mordremoth won’t win, because it has me as an enemy. However, IF it did somehow win, then Guild Wars 2 will end because the other dragons aren’t going to do a kitten thing.
Realistically though, chances are it will be 10 real life years before we fight all the elder dragons. ArenaNet spent the last 3 years building a totally new dragon while completely ignoring the ones that have been awake for centuries. The elder dragons are supposed to be these great big horrible things and so far they have done NOTHING but wake up to say hello and kill a few things.
Primordus won’t do anything, neither will Jormag or Kralkatorrik. They probably went back to sleep for all we know. Bubbles isn’t even a thing anymore, instead it’s just a rumor at this point. All this time and NOTHING from the other dragons at all. Not one thing. So far it has all been filler content, because up until Scarlet died the game had NOTHING to do with the elder dragons.
Everything from Flame and Frost up until now should have waited until AFTER we killed Jormag, Primordus, and Kralkatorrik. This was content that could have added another 3 years to the base game after all the other dragons were dead.
Sorry, rant end :P
There’s no need for a new stat, they just need to make the scaling for healing power a little better, and reduce the druid’s base outgoing healing so they HAVE to run a healing power stat to provide the good healing it can.
