Waiting for arenanet to bring back queueing from PvE and WvW …

Hilarious thing is we have more than enough people hanging around in mists for several games, but the ones that actually bother to be there don’t queue.

To cut this poster off at the knees.

Black Powder uses 6 initiative. You have to recast it every 4 seconds to keep enemies in the TINY bubble blind.

Infusion of shadow only gives you 2 initiative back from stealth. Using heartseeker to get into stealth costs you 3 initiative.

You lose 7 initiative every time you pull off this combo with Infusion of shadow.

You can’t keep Black Powder up indefinitely using the tactics he described or even keep it up past 8-12 seconds. In short the original poster is lying, posting misinformation or is uninformed.

Wrong. Did you factor in the 3 second stealth which you can sit out and regenerate initiative? Just tested it myself, you actually can keep this combo up permanently or at least near permanently. OP is actually right about that.

Even if you had godlike timing and managed to use Heartseeker 3.99 seconds into Blinding powders effect and then sat in stealth for 3 seconds doing nothing to regain back 3 imitative your still losing initiative each time you do this combo.

So this tactic requires you to sit in stealth the entire 3 seconds while damaging no enemies to work?

I edited my post with the exact calculation. With lag and minor good timing it’s not that hard. Mind you, I still think the OP is wrong and this combo is fine. Still it is doable.

Why in gods name someone would willingly level like that though is beyond me. There are way faster ways, not to mention killing higher level targets is not ideal. (That said, I did run into exactly that problem since enemys 10 levels higher become immune back when I leveled my Thief alt. Hey it was 2013 and exploring was fun).

Cyninja and Honest Thief Players:

I did some investigation and found this: does it still work? Does it give thief more initiative regeneration? or less initiative regeneration? It is a High Initiative Regeneration build.

Sure does work, but you hit like a wet noodle and heal just as effectively. Plus, you give up all your evasion so in the event you get interrupted, controlled or dazed, say bb to your health.

Its’ good for pve where things dont think, but anything that requires you to dodge will ruin you.

It is a little OP when you can have 3 regen condition Warriors standing in one place pressing 1 while 5-7 people try to kill you, and fail.

NO NO NO. IT WAS 1 REGEN WARRIOR PRESSING 1 VS 7 PPL AND THOSE 7 PPL FAILED!!!!!!! WARRIOR WAS THAT EPIC THATS WHY WARRIOR NEEDS EVEN MORE NERFS!!!!!!!!! ANET MORE NERFS FOR WARRIOR PLS THX!!!!!!!

Sure.

Healing Signet is up next on the chopping block.
because most people can’t do more than 360-380 damage per second. Way too hard.

GS #3 and #5 need to be nerfed too. Warriors shouldn’t run away from battle, what kind of nonsense is that.

In fact, just replace warrior class with sandbag. That’s all we want. We want a perpetually visible target to soak up all our damage without being able to hit back.

and we want people to delude themselves into wasting time playing this sandbag to entertain us.

Ghastly Grinning Shield

I think ANet had, and then threw away, the perfect opportunity to please (almost) everyone with the Fervid Censer/Desert Rose skins. The Fervid Censer was exclusive, and the Desert Rose wasn’t. Both were equally cool, so people who were at the event had a special reward, but everyone still got the chance for the same type of skin.

The same with The Fiery Dragon Sword, and Jormag’s Breath. Both equally cool, one is exclusive, one isn’t. Everyone is rewarded.

I’m hoping that if and when they rerelease the Mad Memoires (and to a lesser extent the Ghastly shield) they change the flame/grin colour. I do think everyone should be able to get something of equal quality in the same style, but that the game sorely needs rewards for loyalty/skill/persistence etc. This is why the SAB skins were so good. Anyone can get the blue version, which means no one loses out, but the green and yellow versions have a sense of “been there done that”.

I’m fine with this ^ . If the halloween skins have been modified to maintain the older versions for the players that attended the event, that would be acceptable.

They’re fun, yes. That being said:

Most of our CC skills are bugged.

The ones that are not bugged are complained about

Most of our Healing skills are useless

The one that isnt useless is complained about

Adrenaline change gutted many strength/arms oriented builds.

So right now, the Warrior players have this kind of miasma around them, where if they take the skills that work they tick off the player base, but if they don’t they lose.

If you can get by all of that, it’s quite fun.

Coming from a mesmer, sure you may think its fun. Just know it was much more fun a year or so ago, and the warriors that were used to that playstyle feel crippled.

" why there is too many rangers using longbow"

Two things I am not happy about.

They needed metrics to realize this
They apparently had no clue this would happen

There are “too many” rangers using longbow because you let them do ridiculous dps from 1500 range.

You need metrics for that?

I’m fine with the LB as it is, but I’m frankly surprised they didn’t see that coming.

It’s like they expected a reasonable amount of rangers to go

what i read:
“KITTEN I NEED SKILL TO WIN. HAX. CHEAT, REPORT. OP. KITTEN. QQ. where is my faceroll-win?”

anyone agreeing? Proper translation of warriorish? Right?

Not really. giving a thief control over how much adrenaline a warrior has simply by allowing him to reset it to 0 by disengaging disrupts healing, adrenal health, zerker stance, and anything else that requires adrenaline to be effective.

It’s far from wanting a faceroll win. A thief should not be allowed to say “nope, not gonna be able to even -attempt- to use -x, y z- on me” by simply running away at 20 second intervals.

Sorry, but the “Awh, its just a L2P issue” isn’t going to fly here. The majority of builds focused around adrenaline are useless now. I understand some of you guys are simply -overjoyed- that the warriors that used to just button mash and win without any forethought actually can’t do that anymore, but the nerf has severely hindered many existing and viable playstyles. I haven’t had my build severely rocked because I did not rely on adrenaline in the first place, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t players with strategy and sense that did rely on it for their damage.

In a few days all the warriors that have a shred of sense will spec tanky and slot Spiked Armor to melt happy rangers, and then people will start complaining that they’re too hard to kill. Inb4 Healing signet OP.

Those that just copy paste meta builds and hope it does all the work for them… sorry for your loss.

Stealth in MMO's will always be overpowered

Azure The Heartless.3261

If you want thieves to stealth less, give them active condi clear and more armor so that they dont get Full-hp-to-destruction’d by anything that isnt a slight breeze.

Yes I do play thief, but by the quoted comment above I question if you do.

Knight’s Armor
Zerker Trinkets
Assassin’s Weapons

Melandru’s Runes
Lemongrass food
Oil Utility

Sigils that give bonus to crit chance and stack vulnerability.

0/6/6/0/2

Practiced Tolerance, Ankle Shot, Invigorating Precision
Shadow’s Embrace, Hidden Thief, Shadow Rejuvenation
Thrill of the Crime

D/P + SB

Conditions are not a problem (especially bleed lol) thanks to Melandru Runes + Lemongrass + Shadow’s Embrace + being able to stealth when ever revealed wears off (assuming I even attack from stealth).
Sticking to the enemy like glue is also not a problem
Pretty much a 100% crit chance (works well with Invigorating Precision)
Knight’s + Melandru Rune + Practiced Tolerance means I don’t die from a single burst.
I still do as much damage as my other professions who require more survivability since they don’t have stealth as a crutch.

Don’t make your build a glass one and you won’t insta-down and lose this self entitlement that the enemy should be the one to insta-down from a single burst from you.

Couple things.

Watch what you assume. I do run zerker, that much is true, but because I enjoy the high risk, high reward/intimidation factor that comes with that, not because “1shot everything lol.” Not every zerker is a dps-elite; intimidation from watching HP drops is a foundation of strategies around said builds.

What I was trying to point out to you was that your proposed “Fix” to stealth did more harm than good to builds that laid outside your own. I was not questioning how well -you- did against bleeds, but how well your proposed fix did against them.

Also, I run about the same as you. Sometimes I swap out ToTC for Fleet shadow and I run executioner instead if I am not running Deadly Arts, but the core of our builds seems to be the same.

The combat scenarios I was focusing on were PVP oriented, although I do roam from time to time. in PVP, lemongrass does not exist and, seeing as how I run scholar instead of melandru, my build specifically relies on stealth for condi clearing DoTs that would be fatal.

And for the record, even with knight armor in WVW, thieves have a medium health pool and suffer against heavies/Steamrolling Elementalists. I concede that you have an idea what you are doing as far as WVW is concerned, but I still find it strange that you’d fail to take into account that your suggestion cripples thieves that run anything moderately different to the build you do.

Thanks for providing the context I needed, though.

All classes offer something reasonably viable at the moment.

Warrior is a bit on the lower end now, Guardian has had significant buffs; but all in all each class is in a decent place.

PVP now gives PVE dungeon rewards.

There’s a New Years event on right now.

[Rush] has been fixed. [Arcing slice] is now an AOE attack.

Expansion dropping soon. There have been several new maps added to the far West of Tyria.

Scarlet Briar is dead. Living world deals with the dragon that was controlling her.

To prevent loot zergs, some champions were downgraded to elites/veterans. The Queensdale loot train no longer exists. The frostgorge one is still active.

Traits, skills, and core game mechanics are now gradually introduced with leveling to prevent new players from being confused. Some low level Karma Hearts have been reworked or removed to lessen confusion.

There’s more commander tag colors. They now cost 300g (I think)

Other than that, all the same. have fun.

I cannot see any cons besides other parts of the game not getting enough attention-

That is a perfectly good reason, sir.

We already have home instances that we can add nodes to, and invite people to.

They should be focusing on the depth and balance of the game and its professions at this time. Having a game so largely pushed to be competitive that gets sparing balance updates and then unveiling that they were working on player housing would be a silly blunder on their part.

Make sure people have plenty to do. When they have a long chore list and are almost to the point of bemoaning not seeing the end of it, then, maybe , some thought can be given to housing.

We already have a home instance though.

Thieves' SB 5, decapping and game's health

in PvP

Posted by: Azure The Heartless.3261

Azure The Heartless.3261

I am surprised at everyone’s reactions to this post. Right now thief has a niche which keeps it very much alive in the meta. Most thieves though seem to hate only having this niche, and would rather have a different use for their team. The only way they can keep thief balanced overall while being decent in actual combat, is if they can tone down its mobility and disengage while buffing its actual combat abilities.

Or they can give us more sustain and be done with it, so we can actually not be backcap mules. I believe we were promised additional healing we still haven’t gotten.

Why is this impossible to grasp?

Feature patch drops, all classes get a dps increase.
All classes but thief get some kind of passive defense buff or modified healing.
Thief does not actually get its healing, but rather gets a promise for healing coefficient increase, and then:

“Healing (both base and healing power) coefficients have been increased by 10%” per Patch Note June 23, 2015 1 — not implemented.

The solution is clear, at the very least the start of the solution is clear. Instead people are howling “well, you have to give up -something- to be functional!”

Like. Quit it. Our class is literally unfinished at the moment. We don’t have to give up jack squat.

P.S. The niche is stupid.

Why I left GW2

Azure The Heartless.3261

As I stated in a post in the Game Updates: Wardrobe, Transmutation, Outfits feedback thread, the exchange rate they implemented for transmutation stones to charges left me feeling cheated. I am not happy about it.

So, you left because Anet was silent on responding to a thread about consolidated transmutation charges, when the update that provided them:

allowed you to keep all skins you obtained
Allowed you to project these skins onto any item of the same type, as many times as you wanted

because the exchange rate wasn’t good enough, and anet wouldn’t say sorry?

I am having difficulty not finding that silly. I will mail you transmutation charges if your problem is that simple.

they’re not expensive, and for the system we have now, the revamp was worth it. Sometimes changes happen that don’t benefit you, though. Why you’d cast an entire game off for a minor setback that benefits you long term is beyond me, though.

As for Anet’s silence, maybe they just don’t see it as a problem, especially considering the work they put into the system as a whole.

For what it’s worth though, they are speaking to the community via forums a bit more, and the CDI is up, so.. there’s that.

[Idea] Vamp proc should be at 90% HP

Azure The Heartless.3261

Why this deserves a hard nerf I dont know.

Then don’t comment, or read up on the issue, sorry.

R00d

I am well aware of the “issue”

My statement was directed to why a minute long cd mist skill is so hard to counter that it deserves a hard nerf.

Coordinated burst? track him and poke him when he de-mists.
Is it a thief? Wait for the evade.
Anything else interrupt.

You’re asking to nerf several builds because some people can’t follow a smoking orb for a couple of seconds.
CD increase is fine, but 90% proc suggestion defeats the purpose of the rune and just leaves the player stuck in mist without any way to react to whatever just hit them. Any player attacking vamp player will hold their cds, and vamp player will have no skills to get away, block, or return damage. Instead of buying time for cds to come back up, it would just be a silly mid-battle pause.

That and, like I said, any heavy condi applied while rune user is under 20% cannot be purged. There’s ample room to counterplay the traits of the rune with any dot condi.
And since condi ignores toughness, it eats well into whatever HP constitutes 20% of any class, if not completely through.

I always thought it was cause he couldn’t stand to read anymore warrior patch notes.

He wasnt a warrior though. He had a pistol. Warriors are too dumb to use pistols, says Anet.

He fell into the mists and he was handed a script for the new season. Halfway through he said “nope”, put a blindfold on, and left.

Azure The Heartless.3261

Nah I rather have them making it a true B2P games. Getting rid of (most of) the cash-shop and start releasing expansions on a yearly basis.

What’s in the cash shop that is worth getting rid of?

@ Above, what’s a “real” player? Someone that bought something and cant put up with bots, children, and gold sellers because those three entities totally don’t already exist everywhere?

Getting rid of in the cash-shop. Thats all the stuff that should be in the game. Removing the never ending gold grind in this game and making content fun to do because it can reward that cool [now cash shop item X].

So the question should be.. what can stay in the cahs-shop. Name-changer, character slots, total make-over kits, Deluxe Edition. That is about it I guess. Maybe the boosters but they could also be removed from the game. All the other stuff should move to the game, then remove the gem > gold and when done correctly the game would reward doing content and remove the need for the endless gold-grind. There are also some things that could be added to the cash-shop like a race-changer or a guild-name changer.

Not everything would have to be drops, some things could be put in crafting or even a new craft could be created. All the instruments for example could be part of a musician craft. Also the Tempest skins would go great with that craft because they all look a little like being based in music notes. The game could be made a lot better that way with way less currency-grind. The yearly expansions that would then come to generate the income would in addition add nice new content to the game.

There was a thread a couple weeks ago that focused on people that hated doing aspects of the game they hated for prizes they wanted.

A centralized shop for those items makes them bonuses for doing what you like, IMO; and also provides a secondary income stream.

Pulling that stuff from the Gem store would probably upset the economy as well. If the items in the shop are things people rarely buy, gold will inflate as the use for gems diminishes, as far as the conversion rate goes.

That might carry over to the Trading post and make everything else a grind instead.

ArenaNet: “We don’t want players to grind!”

ArenaNet: “Oh, and if you want early access to the expansion, just grind the grindiest map in the game over and over! If RNG favors you, you will get an invite!”

I guess we know what kind of content the expansion will have, if even the beta invites are hidden behind a grind wall.

Or you can just get some friends and go hang out in Silverwastes instead of turning the game into a job for a drop you might not even get no matter how hard you try and then calling it a grind.

A grind produces a result after a specific time; this will not.

Meta builds offer the most return for your skill as determined by general community consensus, no matter what that initial skill is. There are always multiple ways to make a build, but there’s no point in questioning the skill required to play the meta ones, since every build requires a base level of expertise to play and win.

What is there left to do after hitting 80, and grinding up to about 10 legendary. Maybe I should move mmorpg that actually has endgame.

Let thescienceoflaw on /r/GuildWars2 address the OP’s “problem”:

Maybe the problem isn’t the MMO, maybe the problem is you. Maybe you need to examine the way you approach an MMO – many of you will spend hours playing a FPS with no progression because it is fun – and then you whine because spvp has no progression and say so “what incentive do I have to do spvp if I don’t get better gear?” (Actual statement I have heard).

Many of you will spend hours exploring the world in Skryim, doing tons of side-quests, and yet whine and complain because all there is to do in GW2 is explore the world and run dungeons and do events. That is like rushing to finish the storyline quests in Skyrim and then complaining that the game has almost no content.

Why can’t we as an MMO community take the attitude we bring to FPS games, RPG games, and apply it to an MMO? Too many kitten players feel like the only thing that motivates them in an MMO is the “carrot” of gear always being held out in front of them (and don’t know what to do with themselves without it) – and you are destroying the genre. You need to fix that kitten before you destroy the genre that we love.

We take the attitude of playing games for FUN in almost every other genre, so why can’t we do it for MMOs too?

Please note, this doesn’t exonerate ANet in any way, they still have to make a “fun” game but if we listen to carrot chasers, we will just get more grinds; after all, look what ANet did to the Trait System in April!

I’m carrying this on my signature from now on.

if you pay me i give you a lot of suggestions…. there is a reason for this huge ranting…..

Gaile arenanet have to find the right way for this , not the player , but seems you don’t want to do the right things for the player (veterans or news) but only for your profit…..

That reply is the last thing we need right now.

“We kind of need suggestions on what you want”

“Lol pay me, otherwise figure it out”.

This isnt digital minesweeper. Do something.

Suggestion: Add a 100 Gem option for people who like trading in small increments. Optionally, add a 25 and 50 gem option to allow people who need that extra 25 for the Black lion key or are 50 gems away from a hood mask or whatever to get what they need without an extra 450-475 gems of work.

Ideal suggestion: Put it back to how it was. Doubt the metrics will allow this so let’s propose the former.

We need more counterplay to Thief Stealth

in PvP

Posted by: Azure The Heartless.3261

Azure The Heartless.3261

1) 3s reveal on block
2) 1s reveal on missed attack ( dodge/blind etc etc)

These two are fine…

3) Chill reduce Initiative regeneration

This one is not. Initiative is a shared cooldown for all thief weapon skills. Chill should not cripple them more than it already does.

I dont know how you consider blocking an invisible attacker when they have unblockable attacks, or dodging an invisible attack “counterplay”, but w/e. You’d think that counterplay would be more active than just punishing the class in question for not playing perfectly. We can play perfect if we have enough experience, and once the above changes are settled in if they are accepted, we’ll be right back to “Thief bawww” again.

Not saying you’re crying, but; doesnt seem like a reasonable fix so much as a knee-jerk one that just addresses the superficial mechanic problem, rather than giving other classes means to expose thieves.

And, a note: Thieves do not counter most zerkers. Thieves counter all bad zerkers.

Stealth in MMO's will always be overpowered

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Azure The Heartless.3261

Azure The Heartless.3261

While in stealth, a thief should be impervious to damage. Getting hit physically produces 0 dmg. Thieves are also immune to the application of conditions but are also immune to the application of boons. Any current boons and conditions on the thief before they enter stealth continues to exist on them and effect them while in stealth. Thieves can not be healed while in stealth

You sure you play thief seriously?

You’re essentially saying that getting hit with a small stack of bleeds as a zerker thief should be death.

>Lol’d at “Regeneration should not affect thieves in stealth, but bleeds should”

If you want thieves to stealth less, give them active condi clear and more armor so that they dont get Full-hp-to-destruction’d by anything that isnt a slight breeze.

Dueling Option - Forgotten?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Azure The Heartless.3261

I hope you understand bragging does increase competitiveness, do you not know that?

If people brag then pwn them and brag back?

Hmmm.

I’m far from advocating peace and love and joy and hugs, but the very least I can do is not shove that into an aspect of the game where teamwork is advocated.

The attitude you implied in your last post is exactly what needs to be kept out of PVE. In PVP it is muted a little because those same people you have an issue with could be on your team in the next SoloQ, and that is exactly how it should stay.

Map Chat is borderline not-toxic right now. Let’s keep it that way, shall we?

You cannot blame duels for toxic people, that logic is so flawed. People can be toxic because of dungeoning, are you going to remove dungeons? If people are toxic in map chat because of duels people will think badly of them and mute. If you view on the community is that low that duels = community unable to control their temper, then blame the community and not the function to duel.

As I noted above. I do not blame duels for toxicity.

I believe that allowing duels in the PVE aspect will expose players to toxicity that is currently at a very comfortable low with PVP having its own dedicated section.

I’m a dueler myself. In SoloQ, I’m probably more aggressive than I should be.

In PVE, I’m almost a completely different person. I’d rather not take the aggro from PVP and put it in PVE just so people can duel in open world.

I have no reason to blame a mechanic for everything, but it’s hard to ignore that player-kills draw more aggro/toxicity than mob kills. I’d rather things not spill over, and I’d rather people looking to enjoy the open world not have duel-bravado on their “list of things to ignore” if it can be helped.

Power Ranger So OP!!!

Azure The Heartless.3261

Actualy this kind of thing helps in tactical play and reduce the number of brainless fight in pvp area. Ive started to see rangers perching on rooftops in pvp and longbow sniping people from where it is very hard to hit them back. I must applaud on the tactical ingeniosity altrought the fact a guy can just hammer me for that much damage from a location strait in face of a control point in sky hammer where i cant in theory reach him witheout doing a long jump puzzle actualy anoys me (note that once im dead he can at any time just jump down of his perch and cap back the point again)

Totally not stand still, hit button faceroll.

Totally takes more brains to play than the previously nerfed stuff.

I love this so much guys, you don’t even know.

being in your face, hitting you with short range skills, actively following you to try to down you = OP, pls nerf

camping on ledge and burst damage whenever skill off cooldown = Nah its cool

Well previously most team dedicated someone to be a roamer. Now that roamer can deal with the LB ranger. And trust me, unless you wave your hands and jump towards the range from the front, you will be able to deal with him. For ranger to deal really high damage he needs to be made of tissue paper. A sneeze is enough to down him. Rapid fire seems op in itself, but if you look at what it costs to be able to deal that type of damage, I think a LOT of survivability has to be sacrified in the process. So I don’t think its OP. Is it annoying? Yes. OP? No.

A tissue paper ranger camping on a ledge that requires significant effort to get to, armed with a push no less, is no different from a tank ranger in terms of how fragile he is, because you cannot hit him if you are not a ranged character.

So you’re saying that people can’t deal with zerker shatter memsers in pvp? Because if they can, they can deal with rangers as well. Thieves and mesmers have ways to port to locations others cannot get to quickly. Other profs have options to buy themselves time with invulnerability or reflect. In that time they can finish off who they are fighting, or can go after the ranger. A lonbgow ranger on a ledge far away poses a new choice most people don’t seem to be happy with. It brings a change in what happened before, but I don’t think its the end of the world. If people can find out when they will get a backstab (which good players can), then they will be able to blind the ranger when he uses PBS as well. I fought a necro today in wvw who blinded me on 2-3 PBSs in a row. Either he was very, very, lucky (but what are the odds really) or he knew how to fight me. I think that on similar player skill thief>LB ranger, shatter mesmer>LB ranger. So what seems to be the problem here? All LB ranger has in its favor in the “oh so terrible circumstances” you visualize is position. Take that away and he is nothing.

Thieves and mesmers also cannot unload significant damage every 8 seconds at a great distance from that range without significant forethought/tactical thinking, which is the focus of my argument.

I am not arguing that Ranger is ‘too strong’ or that buying time is broken. I am arguing that the skill floor for Ranger has been significantly lowered to “perch here, press 2”, and that such a passive means of combat is too heavily rewarded, and that the community that largely decried certain classes having a low skill floor before are now magically silent.

As for rangers being nothing without “perch here, press 2” I’d like to retort with:

Kill shot comes in one big spike, rapid fire is a slow spike that warns you and only punishes you if you neglect it completely… Like people in that video. i play ranger but don’t use longbow, but have in the past. Nothing there that couldn’t have been done before patch against people in glass armour that don’t react at all…

Counter scenario. You are 25% on endurance. Less than one RF’s worth of HP. Old RF: you’d be able to dodge part of it. New RF: you eat all of it before you can dodge again (and down).

I have no problem with this as a mechanic alone. for the purpose of a greater argument though, I have taken issue with it when used in tandem with camping by rangers.

Cowardly Warriors

I’m inclined to agree with Serbent on this.

While I remember you saying that you had an 80 of every class, Guardians do not have their forte in solo roaming. It was stated, quite well someplace else, that "When you see a guardian solo roaming, you know one of two things is going to happen:

  • You will kill him because he cannot escape
  • You will do nothing to him but not die because he cannot chase you.
    "

Guardians are not traited for running after -any- class, much less warriors. Expecting otherwise is, dare I say, a tiny bit of a stretch.

And almost a bit of an insult. Someone with a main in every class laments the impossibility of catching a warrior, a class that has agility as one of its strong suits, on a guardian, a class that features being an immovable wall that pumps out buffs?
Walls don’t have legs, bro.

I’d love to hear difficulty with catching Warriors on any other class though.

This update has taught me one thing: There are a boatload of people that have no idea what “Pay to Win” means.

On topic: Honestly, I would never be able to afford any of these skins, so this is a great opportunity for me to collect these tickets and turn them in just by simply playing the game like I always do.

This. its a lottery but you do not have to pay to play or win. you just have the option of doing so if you do not want to chase down the candies yourself.

Like…say..if you have a job.

Full time job makes me not want to hunt candies at home. Granted ill grit my teeth and do it anyway, but it makes sense.

problem is people are going to “abuse their stupid money” and flood the raffle with tickets in some peoples minds, the idea of which I laugh at because That is no different with someone with nothing but time on his hands farming everything to death and flooding as well.
