Can we please have a sticky post that lists all achievement deadlines when that info is released?
Deadlines always seem to create confusion for players as currently there is no single one place to find the info.
Thank you.

Personally, I don’t like overblown “fantasy” so I’m quite happy with it and this game in general.
One of my favourite books is Dune, so I feel like, yes, it’s possible to have politics AND beating people senseless in only your underwear.
Lord of the Rings also contained some pretty “political” stuff, it was just fairly hidden. I like that, too, when a story has multiple “layers” – but I don’t really expect that from a video game whose nature is basically a serial. They try, but the aspiration is to something like “LOST”, not a story that was planned over years and revised as a whole.
And, yeah, like someone else said – this is really not in-depth politics at all. It’s like a high-school election – and I think it will be actually pretty cool if we’re able to do something to influence the outcome.
I mean, I guess I don’t really care because I’m not playing this game to hear an amazing story. So far, I think it’s serviceable, but I’m not expecting something that makes me stay up all night reading and makes me go, “whoa dudes you gotta read this” to everyone I know.
Game of Thrones wants to have a word with you.
Not to mention Under Heaven, The City and the City, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, The Scar, The Iron Council, Perdido Street Station, Sailing to Sarantium, and many others, all incorporating political and/or coporate intrigue into fantasy.
Every title in this post was a nominee for the World Fantasy Award.
There can be plenty of emotion evoked in trade agreements and employment contracts. It’s all in how you tell the story.
(edited by Gibson.4036)
TLDR… Stick to fantasy adventure, mystery, revenge, fighting against insurmountable odds, interesting villains, murder, romance, rescue missions… things that evoke emotions. Trade agreements and employment contracts do not.
Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t make it not fantasy. There are lots of fantasy stories built around politics and social maneuvering. If you don’t see something to empathize with in a story about a freedom fighter getting on the wrong side of the law, hurting those he’s trying to save just to do the right thing… Well, that’s your problem.
“I am casual and hence feel treated unfairly” seems to become the main argument for any demand in changing the game. Those achievements reward a lot things. People who stick to the game and log in often. People who supported anet in GW1 times. People who keep the pvp aspect of the game alive. People who go and try things new to them. People who try the harder things in GW2. Someone who invests more time, skill, dedication, whatever into the game gets more rewards… is that such an exotic concept? Do we need game socialism now? This game rewards about anything with AP safe standing still, you will get to your next reward tier sooner or later. Not to mention those rewards are not game changers worthy of note.
dungeon based on jumping of boxes in the laser room from the previous living story.
Really ? You consider jumping on a box to be sort of JP ?
>two Jumping Puzzles have been released in a row
>GW2 turned into a platformer
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
The main reason I hate, loathe and despise all JP in GW2 is the crappy camera.
What’s that? You want to look where you’re going before you jump? NO, sorry that rock overhead MUST be zoomed in 100%!
What’s that? You want to be a Norn male and do JP?…hahahahah try again
That is why I don’t do 1/5 of the content that is GW2…JP!!!!

Hi Narcasis, just thought I’d post here and make a comment on those vids, being the engie (Myrrinah) that fought you in both situations.
I wasn’t having a particularly great evening myself and in all honesty any other map in those situations would’ve had you as a victor. Both times I managed to get you were due to positional advantages which wouldn’t have been as important in other maps as those factors don’t exist (that is the collapsible tiles and falling off the edge).
Nevertheless it was a fun game and it was great having a chance to play against you in a tournament match and learn from better players to hopefully improve my game.
thanks for providing video evidence of the first time an engi’s ever said “thank god for my downstate”
That was pretty much my exact thought.
Necro destroying game coz u see necrso in tourns now? Completly out of control? Balanced be4 patch (u mean useless feekill)? U kiddin me rite? Yeh lets nerf it to the ground and let it be useless, coooool!

Great …
So now the tool-tips on ranger pets will properly indicate how crap they are ..
Necros have gone almost a year without really having much use for Spectral Wall. Now that they’ve made the spell useful, everyone is crying for nerfs. Friends, I’m here to prove that this spell simply cannot be considered overpowered based on the fact that as long as you don’t walk directly into it, it cannot harm you. I spent a few hours over the weekend deliberately placing Spectral Wall at easy to avoid moments just to see how often people would ignore game mechanics and stand in the fire. Fear not, I’ve also included footage of people rendering Spectral Wall useless. No offense intended to anyone who might be in the vid, just having some fun.
You can just get nothing at all? How bout just appreciate that there’s any bonus

I’m doing map completion on a second char. I agree with the repetitiveness of exploration; but it’s easier the 2nd time around as I’ve gone through the areas once already.
Having said that, I disagree it should be account bound and like it to be character bound like it already is. It gives me a sense of “I loved this character enough to travel the entire world of Tyria with him/her, s/he’s earned the right to that gold star”.

NCsoft won’t have problem scratching it off their investment schedule – if Wildstar becomes the next big thing you’ll see this game with so much potential suffer because of your inaction.
Meh. Wildstar will see the exact same thing that has happened to every other big MMO released in the past few years:
- A lot of MMO locusts will jump there as soon as it’s released. Initial game sales will be between 1.5 million and 2 millions.
- The MMO locusts don’t want to play Wildstar. They want an exact copy of their first MMORPG, which for most people was WoW, whether they realize it or not (there’s an interesting article about this kind of behavior here). After a few months playing the game, they realize that no, Wildstar is not a clone of whatever game they are thinking of, and begin leaving.
- Developers start to panic when they see those players leaving. They notice that most of them are the ones who asked for features seen in every other MMO (they do want a clone, after all), and so they begin frantically adding those features, often in a rushed way.
- The game becomes a bit worse, some of those players who wanted to play Wildstar and not a generic MMO begin to leave, the game continues to lose players and the developers continue to panic.
- Soon, the game goes free to play, tries to adapt to a business model it didn’t really expect, and claim to have one million registered players, most of which have played the game a few hours and then left.

The Tinfoil Spartan. Class would be similar to warrior but have only shouts for skills.
1. “THIS IS NERFED!” Causes aura of light to shine around for 15 seconds does little damage.
2. “Drop rates…CHANGING!” Violent AOE, causes health to drop to 1HP for 5 seconds.
There’s more, but that’s a good start.
;)
I’d actually like to see a dark mage of some sort, not necro undead stuff just dark magic no pets other than maybe an elemental minion.
Monk (hand to hand) would be cool.

about wells and its power:
“Wow , thats seems to be coold place to gather around!”
Same is with marks:
“Look, necro is casting something , lets all stick together!”
To be honest, after this big necro patch I really understood how many people dont understand a single thing in game and what community is here. That made me very sad.
Sorrow: “The issue is the lack of variety in healing skills just because CC is better in every situation over other heals (or WoB and BF are niche, see it as you want), not that CC is overpowered. I’ve never said that.”
Actually, your proposed solution was to nerf CC. You wanted to remove an aspect of it, and you have repeatedly said that aspect is too powerful. So yes, technically you didn’t say the words “nerf CC, it’s OP”, that’s what you’ve proposed.
The other two heals are niche by design, and I don’t see any way to strengthen them without making them OP under some circumstances. BF is for MM’s and people who want to level in a certain style. WoB is for those who want to support the team better and who either fight in a clump with their team or trait for ground-targeted wells.
Which answers the question you keep asking: when would you use the other two? Nerfing CC — excuse me, I mean “removing capability but we won’t call it a nerf” — won’t actually make the other two more attractive in the vast majority of use.
Or they could just make “save yourselves” to only give 5 boons. Yeah I like that idea better.
I think this is the reason it was nerfed.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Necro-Corrupt-Boon-a-little-on-the-OP-side/first
Guy browsing through necro skills, sees corrupt boon. “WTF, I can’t spam LoLYourselves mindlessly?” Makes thread saying it should only convert 5 condis. Dev reads thread and says, “Seems about right, let’s do this.” and Boom, CB nerf.
I don’t get it. other class QQ, well, it’s unfair but it’s not my forst MMO, so i’ve seen this thousands of time. But necro claiming that one of their ability is Op ????
You do know engineers get the same thing as dhummfire as an adept (10 points) trait right ?
I think I’ve officially seen the most ridiculous of all the necro OP threads this week. Maybe that’s not true – “Putrid Mark is OP” from the sPvP forums yesterday was bad.
Consume conditions is not too strong and does not overshadow the other heals. The three of them do different things, and are better than one another in different contexts.
Grenth’s Balance: A fast life siphon-style skill (2s channel duration) that won’t stop until you and your enemy have the same % of life remaining. If successfully used (Not blocked, missed due to blind, etc) on an opponent with less life than you, no effect & a five second recharge.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
Thanks for the feedback. We intend to watch things in the meta and make small adjustments accordingly for ALL classes, including the Necro.
Warriors dont need small changes. They need drastic changes: The class feels extremely unresponsive, slow, cumbersome. Its like I am playing underwater with an extremely poor connection when I play a warrior.
I dont think improving their traits alone or their “health” is going to be a good fix. Instead of tinkering with things that could make them overpowered in PVE, why not just speed up their animations, pre-cast time, and more so that they can actually do something in pvp besides telegraphing slow and unresponsive moves with a huge windup.
Even if you bring warriors to the level of other classes by improving their traits and abilities, they are still going to be awkward and frustrating to play as long as their slow animations, cast time, and weird mechanics (self rooting melee attacks) are left in the game. Warriors need an overhaul
When I push blink on my mesmer, i blink instantly. When I hit decoy, I vanish instantly. When hit throw bolas on my warrior, I wind up a throw and throw it half a second later, when I hit bulls charge I get ready to charge and then charge a half second later. This kind of discrepency in fluidity between the classes is unacceptable.
Now you know how necromancers feel. Everything we have has either a ridiculous after cast delay (enfeebling blood especially) or a long cast time.
