Same issue as others. If this is a bug it has been on every avie I have done it on (3). I never see the next location as a green circle or star. Wiki says you have to have the updraft mastery but I have all the gliding mastery maxed… I found the locations checking videos.

My suggestion for a glider is put the one that you already have made! So no extra work! The glider/wings from “chasing the egg” story mission are amazing! Even if it is only limited to just glider and not a back piece I would love this one if it was available.(I’m sure a lot of other people will agree)

Thanks!

Oh my goodness. Please. This!

Oh! That would have been such a lovely reward for completing that mission!

3 years no precursor drop!

Aerinndis.2730

I have gotten 6 precursors mainly in the last year but I bought them all. Two I have made into Legendary weapons and am working on harvesting mats for the rest. While I have never had a precursor drop in-world (I don’t gamble with the Mystic Toilet) I have gotten what I think is a reasonable number of exotic and ascended drops. So overall RNG-wise I think I am par for the course. I haven’t kept track but I do get dry spells when I seem to get nada and then suddenly I start getting them. I think it averages out in the end.

I would probably be gobsmacked if I had a precursor drop, lol, but I gave up a long time ago of caring whether I got one or not that way. If you want one bad enough, earn gold to buy one, craft one or Mystic Toilet Gamble for one. RNG is out of the equation for the first two options. The newer precursors will have to be crafted anyway and will be account bound so if you want those you would have to work to craft them.

Some of the Instructors are up high tucked into various ledges. By the falls if you take the jumping shrooms you can get up into some corners where they are hiding as well as being able to glide over to some. I do know there is at least one under water but you have to kill some stuff to be able to talk to it. If you answer wrongly you can go back after 10 minutes and try again according to the wiki. I don’t think there are 20 instructors, though.

https://youtu.be/ZMm9BXv3qT4

This video guide shows where they are.

http://gw2data.blogspot.com/2015/11/guild-wars-2-tangled-depths-achievement.html

This achievement guide has some of the questions and the wiki seems to have all the questions. However I think there are so many questions that it is hard to look at the list and get the answer in the required time. I just kept coming back and guessing until I got the 20. Eventually I actually knew some of the answers, lol.

-Snip-

  • Crafting gliders – like the crafting backpieces, gliders added to each crafting progression that is themed to the craft (probably just 1 per craft, not one per crafting tier per craft). For example, the CoF glider could be a glider made of fire, while HotW could be using the kodan-designs metal and ice (not realistic but hey neither are animal wings on plant people)
    -Snip-

I like the idea of being able to craft gliders especially ones themed to crafting professions. Somehow I see the chef one made of cooking utensils strung together or chef hats and aprons. For a jeweler a glider strung together with jewels or crystals – it could be a great way of using up the copper, silver, gold etc. for a really flashy or color coordinated glider. It would be also kind of neat to be able to customize – have several parts so you can mix and match your glider within that profession.

Account Bound Recipes

Often I find a recipe for purchase on a character that does not have that crafting discipline. (Pact Supply Agents come to mind especially) And I cannot remember if I have that recipe for that crafting without having to log out and get that character to check.

Having account bound recipes or at least a way of being able to see if one of my crafting disciplines has that particular recipe without having to go get that character would be wonderful.

It is very satisfying to see results of your hard work.

Now if we could just get the Soul River Glider as a separate item (hint, hint) I would buy that one too.

If you do WvW you get Proof of Heroics in the rank up chests that you can go to a Heroics Notary and exchange for notarized scrolls. The Notarized Scroll of Heroics completes a random HP in Tyria and The Notarized Scroll of Maguuma Heroics will give you a random HP from HoT (I am assuming you have to have HoT to get this one). Also there are still some HPs in WvW that you can pick up if you need them.

There are plenty of HPs that are fairly easy to get in HoT to make up what you need. Several in Verdant Brink you drop down and find a ledge with ones you commune with. People seem pretty responsive when folk ask for HP help in HoT and there even trains that make the rounds.

Wings and Jumping puzzles

I do think it is an issue. Hubby complains he has difficulty with longer jumps because when he holds down the jump key his glider pops and he finds himself overshooting or trying to close the glider and missing the spot he was aiming for because he suddenly drops.

I have not had so much trouble with jumps but I do have the Lean Techniques and he doesn’t so I can slow and hover and get into position easier. But it would be nice to be able to bind the glider to another key if you wanted to or just turn it off when you don’t want to use it. I will say gliding has kept me from falling to my death more than once!

I do not know how binding the glider to another key would affect the jump pads though since holding the jump button is what makes them work. The Shatterer event you need to use the jump because if you use interact it is more likely to bug out.

This is definitely something that needs some refining.

All the gliders should be available as solo or along with a backpack. I’d fix the jump pads so that speed boosts (signets, traits, swiftness) don’t affect the launch height, so you don’t need to change your build (or sometimes character) to complete the puzzle. I’d also remove some of the aetherblade spawns. Being stunned mid-jump by an enemy I can’t kill because of it going anti-exploit, but still attacking me, is an annoyance. Maybe also being revived at the start of the puzzle if you die, not having to waypoint and run through those ettins – just a small time saver.

Yes, I’ve completed it… several times thanks to precursor collections coming out; but it’s an unfair puzzle. Yes, there’s some actual difficulty there, but most of it is just being unfair and overly punishing.

I am wondering if that was the issue as my necro can’t even get into the puzzle since the pad just won’t launch her high enough no matter where I stand on the pad. Checkpoints would be nice also since I am incapable of doing a perfect run on this one. I find this puzzle horribly frustrating from just trying to get into the puzzle to the tiny land points that I can never seem to find, just miss or not getting launched high enough to get anywhere at some points. Then to have to start over because I died is just too frustrating. There is little to no leeway for anything less than a perfect run.

I did Troll’s End and the Silverwastes puzzles – a lot of tries but I was able to do them. Early on the Breached Wall was my nemesis and I kept at it until I got it. This one I am not finding any progress with repeated attempts and I have tried since it came out. I got the jp thanks to a kind mesmer who was porting but it is a shame I might have to rely on the kindness of someone or to pay someone to get me up so I can keep trying for the diving achieve. Nothing irritates me more than having to see that Dive Master achieve with one left on my achievement panel since it definitely does not provide me any incentive to try it any more.

I don’t think refunds are required for this sort of change, unless maybe you purchased a 2nd or so slavage-o-matic within the last month.

Outside of that, I’d rather see Anet implement something that lets you trade in an extra item like that for some other benefit of equal value. Maybe forge 4 copper-feds into a silver fed, or something like that. Even still, Anet doesn’t have to do to anything in these cases.

I would love to be able to trade in duplicates for other items of like value. I bought all of my salvage-o-matics some time ago and would not expect any refunds. I did get a lot of great usage out of them as well as the convenience of not having to move one around all the time so they were well worth the cost to me. I think it is more that I hate waste and would like to be able to retool or recycle duplicates in some way.

Anet, please have a recycling program or let us have a recipe for the Mystic Forge that with a little bit of work we could transform our duplicates into useful components or items of equal value.

Then don’t buy it.

Me, I don’t see the need for it. I do see the usefulness of it (keep a salvage o matic for everyone to share, or maybe a costume brawl item or some other gizmo-class item that you like using a lot, maybe an endless tonic)…. but I think it’s kind of silly.

So I’m not buying it, for that reason. You can choose not to for its cost (which I agree is kind of high; 500-600 would have been my estimation of its value). But I can definitely see others getting it.

It’s definitely a QoL convenience, plain and simple. Many are willing to pay for such things. Others do not. Still others pick and choose their perks, weighing cost and utility.

20 shared slots though? Definitely very much overboard. I really don’t see it topping 10 even in the long run. As for the price…. Anet may tweak it if it doesn’t sell, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. It’ll sell.

It’s a rip off plain and simple and a very very very poor decision.

Sorry, but you are trying to defend gouging of players, and that’s just as bad as this account slot rip off.

Sorry, but you are trying to attack the price for a convenience item that many of us have been waiting for. 700 gems allows me to gain the use of an 800-gem copper-fed salvage-o-matic on all my characters.

I can also share a portal stone, giving access to Royal Terrace or Heirship etc.

It, of course, doesn’t resolve the issue for the huge numbers of keys and isn’t super-convenient for gathering tools. I expect those problems to be addressed using something like the wallet, which is free.

tl;dr don’t buy it if you think it’s a terrible deal. I’m probably going to get all five.

I loved how folk complained about the salvage-o-matic cost when it came out yet due to the convenience a lot people bought them and even bought duplicates. (that will be another issue to resolve, I think) It seems like the ones who felt it was not a good deal just did not buy them and the ones who did bought them. But more bought them than not I suspect.

I am not sure how this is a “rip off” though. It is a convenience item like the salvage-o-matic was. If it is worth the convenience then you might want to buy it. Buying the 5 is cheaper than buying just one overall (about 560 per slot).

You always hear the gouging argument when something new comes out. I once knitted a spectacular sweater out of really nice wool. The materials cost me over 60 dollars because it was high end wool and it was a very complex pattern that took me hours and hours to knit and then put together. I was asking a price that covered my labor and my materials. I had one lady tell me I should sell it to her for 20 dollars because what I was asking was gouging. Granted this is not the same thing as a virtual item the idea is the same. Some folk just don’t want to pay for what is offered and feel insulted at whatever price is set. ANet is the one setting the price for their product. They have the right to decide what price it is. We as the consumer can decide whether we buy it or not which will determine whether the product is a success or not. I suspect a lot more will buy it than not just like the salvage-o-matics. Ultimately if you have a need for what they are offering the cost is really not that big for your convenience.

It’s only 560 gems per slot if you buy 5. That’s actually not too bad especially if you were planning on buying multiple unlimited gathering tools or Royal Terrace/Captain Airship passes.

Unfortunately I already have multiples of all those things, wish there was a way to trade them in for gems now that they are unnecessary T_T

I suspect a lot of folk have duplicate unlimited gathering tools and/or salvage-o-matics. I would love to be able to trade the duplicates in for either gems I can spend on other things or be able to trade them at their value with a vendor for other items of a like value.

I am thrilled that I can now share my salvage-o-matic, mystic salvage kit and black lion salvage kit, repair cannister and tp to a friend with all my avies.

Like the salvage-o-matic some screamed was so expensive and this is also about the convenience of what you want to use it for. If you feel it is too expensive or you have no use for it then your decision is pretty easy.

It looks like it is the rock just before the string of mushrooms on the path up to the Cluster of Light. You will be past the chest.

The Hidden Garden walkthrough for that portion says:

“Cluster of Light
Obtained from the Cluster of Light in the Hidden Garden. The cluster is located on the very top of the tree in the center of the garden. To start up the tree, go up from the south east side. Make your way up to the chest, which is about 1/3 of the way up the tree. Head to the chest, then turn left. There will be a path of mushrooms and roots that you can climb up. (this is probably where the rock is) Be warned, if you fall once you start climbing mushrooms you will die unless you can land in the small pond below.”

Hope this helps.

Maybe it just doesn’t know how? Sure, you’ve probably demonstrated it, but you’re not exactly shaped like an arrowhead. (I’m assuming there.)

Maybe you need to take it into the jungle and show it a real arrowhead, so it can see how it’s done. Of course, there’s the risk it will run off and join it’s brethren. But all babies must leave the nest eventually.

This would be a cool idea for some minis that you had some sort of mini quest to ‘teach’ them adult behaviors and they got more interesting animations as a result. I would not expect it for every mini but I would be more inclined to buy a mini I could train to do a bit more than some do now.

I really would love to see recipes become account wide. It would be a more efficient way of knowing whether you already had that recipe. Also since you have to have a crafting skill to the level needed to use it I cannot see how a change like this would have any adverse impact to crafting. It is hard enough remembering which alt has which crafting skills and then have to go to that character to figure out if I have that recipe already so the other character can obtain it if I don’t – ugh… And let’s not get into accidentally using the recipe on one character only to figure out, oops! wrong alt. Crafting definitely needs some work but this would be the main change I would be in favor of – account wide recipes (getting the rest of the crafting professions to 500 would be my other wish). That and I would like to see more consumable recipes that we could get creative with hunting and fishing and gathering to make some interesting stuff. Possibly even be able to make combinations that might have some surprising results (positive or negative).

I enjoyed this short mini quest. It was fun to do though I am not so sure about when or how Prototype Assistant Lennor shows up. I did find him walking into the area upon a successful completion of the U.N.I.T. event so it may be tied to that. He was in the area when I first came in (no clue if the U.N.I.T. event had been done at that point) and killed him with another person but he never spawned Zokaggrot the Greedy. A short time later I started the the U.N.I.T. event and successfully completed it, Prototype Assistant Lennor showed up walking into the area and once we killed him Zokaggrot did spawn.

If this is indeed connected to the U.N.I.T. event please do not get too far ahead of U.N.I.T. when killing stuff because that is what will bug that event out especially when folk go kill the golem in the niche before U.N.I.T. gets near it. Folk trying for the Giant Slayer achieve are familiar with this bug….

Rest of the mini quest was quite fun and enjoyable. I did have to help get Skrittsburgh open again in order to talk to the king and was able to complete the rest easily.

My only request is more than just two areas to dye on this. Yes, it is ugly but as a knitter this type of pattern is actually quite difficult to do and some additional color could make it truly interesting.

I agree with OP’s sentiment.

I don’t think he’s calling to make getting the item any easier, just saying that we shouldn’t be so harsh on the people who come here and say they physically can’t do the thing because of how they are in the real world.

Y’know, cos Christmas.

Actually it doesn’t look like OP is suggesting any change at all to how you actually get the item. Looks like he’s just disappointed that some people don’t seem to care about the feelings of people who just want to be included.

I personally think there should be alternative options for how to get it. All challenging options, but at least a few different ones so more people have a better chance of not hitting a roadblock due to disability etc. But that’s just me. I don’t think I have seen anyone in this thread asking for the thing to be given to them on a silver platter, despite some of the critics seeming to suggest that in this thread. Did they even read the whole thing?

@OP: I think the people who claim not to understand this are actually few and far between. Not even sure if any of them are serious or just trolls. I think it’s really easy to get behind the idea of not being mean to people just for speaking up that they don’t feel included. Particularly at Christmas.

Great post OP. I agree with this as well.

As someone with enough of a disability that not everything is achievable for me I would like to see alternative ways of being able to reach the same goal. I certainly do not want anything given to me on a silver platter. I enjoy working towards a goal – a lot of times the getting there can be tremendous fun and the satisfaction of achieving is tremendous especially in light of my disability. I managed to make Mawdrey II, get Princess and make 2 Legendary weapons and ascended armor so I know I have the determination to achieve goals. I guess I was lucky that I was able to get those done but there are other things out there I know I won’t achieve so I try to concentrate on what I can do and have as much fun as possible.

You will always have folk who can rip through the requirements in no time, those who have limited time to play due to RL obligations, those who have disabilities that limit how much they can accomplish and those who are just plain lazy and thus it is “too hard” to get but feel they should get it anyway. That’s life virtually and real…. Bottom line is we should acknowledge everyone’s differences and opinions with respect but also try to put ourselves in other’s shoes and realize just because you can do it easily doesn’t mean the other person can or will be able to.

If you were going to put in a way to get Karma for old wintersday item trade-ins.

  • Why are you limiting how many Gifts can be turned in at a time to 1 per Orphan.
  • Why are there only like 10 Orphans (perhaps there is more but point is still valid, there are hardly any and they are massively spread out.)

If the point was to allow us to earn Karma during Wintersday… why gate it to make it impossible to earn the Karma?

I found beggers who will take gifts but they don’t give anything back so beware of the panhandlers!

I have over 5 million karma so this is a useless event for me…..

I only do Tequatl occasionally but when I do, I make sure I participate in each of the battery defenses as fully as possible (I stay until there is about 20-22 seconds left before returning to main area) so I get the max number of chest rewards.

Yesterday I finally got my Tequatl’s Hoard. I think getting that is strictly RNG and mine has tended to be sucky. I did get this one on my newest character which I created when HoT came out but it has not had any extra ordinary luck that I feel I could say this was a factor. The only thing I think of that would impact this is to make sure you participate as fully as possible to get the max number of chests and hopefully the RNG cycle will finally hit at the right time.
