Best class for JP, Mesmer: portal and fall damage reduction trait.
Best race, Asura: just make the tiniest asura ever, and you’re gold.

I usually prefer Engie, though: Engie’s rifle 5 is still the best jump skill, IMO.
Also: permaswiftness is really easy with Engie’s streamlined kits, and you have some very decent sources of stealth if you need to skip mobs.

I got through some harder jumping puzzles and things like finding the lost badges in the Silverwastes using my engineer and the rifle. Definitely a must have for some of these puzzles. Especially for the ones with the tiny beams sticking out of the wall.

Also the new Endless Minature Tonic is great and well worth buying as it makes you smaller than any asuran you can make.

One thing you can do is submit a bug report under Support/Bugs, Game, Forum, Website. When in-game put /IP in chat to check which IP it is and add that to the report. I found it got fixed pretty quickly once they know what IP it is happening on.

Here is a link to one of my reports:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Bug-Unit-Event-in-Brisban/first#post4750931

The event seems to bug when folk go too far ahead and kill stuff especially the golem in the niche just before you get into the room in the inquest facility. The wiki does have some bug info that also might help.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Help_U.N.I.T._find_and_destroy_the_Inquest

" Bugs: If U.N.I.T skips the Inquest Assistant and the Mark II Golem and enters through the north door into the final room, and instead engages inquest inside the final room and enters though the east door, it proceeds to clear the room and free Wistt from his cell, but stays in combat mode as if the room is still not cleared, causing the event to not proceed to the final dialogue and progress to its final phase. If this happens you can unstick it yourself but getting UNIT killed. To do this, just kite in enemies near UNIT and he will attack them. You will need to get several. If you can get the Prototype Robot and 1 other, that will work."

I hope this helps you get the event restarted so you can work on your Giant Slayer.

For the one successful run where I got the achieve, the person who organized it was keeping an eye on the day/night cycle and started advertising he was getting a group together for the achieve about 10 minutes before dawn as this event spawns during the day cycle. To check the day/night cycle see the wiki: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Day_and_night or type /wiki et in chat to get the event timer which will show the cycle. Doing the first one at dawn might give a better chance at getting folk to come for the achieve since you can be pretty sure the wait won’t be long.

The organizer did get quite a few people who came and he then asked for three people to tag up and stand at three spots (bow of ship, stern and up on the hill) and had everyone else split up and go to those three locations. We did have a large spawn of carriers when the event started (probably from the size of the group) but we were able to take care of them as folk stayed in their areas to deal with the carriers as they came in. After the initial large spawn the carriers thinned out considerably and started to increase again near the end.

I think you do have to be very aware of the timer on this one – I think it may spawn every 15 minutes but it is hard to get folk to stand around and wait especially if you are not sure when the last one spawned or if the quaggan/white mantle invading the town are going on. So in my mind the first event at dawn is probably the best chance to get folk if you start about 10 minutes before to get people to the area.

The way this is structured, you would have to be extremely lucky to have nothing going on in the vicinity as well as few people in the area to be able to get this one with just a couple of people. It very much seems to have to be an organized event in order to get this achieve. The guy who organized the one I was in only had an mentor tag but it did do the trick at getting folk where they needed to be. He also organized two successful Moonlighting achieves just before that by organizing the same way in advance just as night fell.

I thought, it’s easier with just 2 or 3 players around. That’s the result >.<
Waiting for a better chance.

Event last night had double that when it spawned because the quaggan event had spawned a bit before and the group that comes past the ship were up in the town near the last bit of that escort but it also scaled up the ship one to be impossible. This is still a conflict as folk also want the the achieve from the quaggan event so they start it even if the ship event is going on.

I am close to juskitten this and the moonlighting achieve as that one does not seem to spawn very often and groups of us have stood around for long periods of time waiting on it.

It is hard to tell when it is night or day other than looking over towards Divinity’s Reach to see if there is a small corner of blue sky. I noticed the shadows on the ground don’t really change enough to indicate you are entering any day or night cycle. The only way to tell is when the ghosts do spawn further up on the map. I see a lot of people always asking in map chat if it is day or night yet and few seem to know.

**Edit: Finally got both achieves because one person was organizing well before each event started. Here is what I learned:

First know when the day/night cycle is by using https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Day_and_night#Day.E2.80.93night_cycle
or put in /wiki et in chat to get event timer. Look at Verdant brink which tells you when the day and night begins and starts. (day and night same on all maps)

Moonlighting – spawns roughly every 15 minutes which gives two or three chances during the night cycle. Have most people concentrate on the ghost thieves so they don’t get out of the area and have two people run around and investigate the bushes as that makes the confidence bar go up for the workers and the event ends much, much quicker. We did that for two events and ended the second one very quickly once we realized you also need to check the bushes.

Honorary Crew Member:
Spawns during daytime so one person started letting folk know to congregate at the boat right at dawn and he got 3 people to tag up form groups. (I think we had roughly 7-8 in each group and more came in just before the event started) One group took the bow and northwest area, one the stern and southern area and last group took the hill and upper part of the boat. If folk stay around their areas this is surprisingly easy to do and you can catch everyone.

Both do much better as organized events for sure.

We had a large group last night and we were certain we got every carrier but no one got the achieve. There were a goodly number of folk waiting for the event to pop so it was not an issue at the beginning of not enough to corral the carriers.

I got the hidden achieve from the torch runner event before the patch just by sheer luck. I managed to get on a map that was working on getting this event to spawn. One guy kept attacking the dolyak and was close to killing it and folk were yelling at him to stop and telling him why. Finally someone put a target on him which got his attention – I suspect he wasn’t looking at chat and was focusing on downing the dolyak not realizing he was about to ruin an entire map’s attempt to get this achieve. Once he moved away from the dolyak and it got to Saidra’s Haven the torch bearer event spawned to the southeast of town. The event itself did not end immediately so folk got a chance to get a hit in on the torch bearers and we got the hidden achieve.

I have not tried to get Honorary Crew Member or Moonlighting yet but am thankful that the patch hopefully fixed the issues and that the event doesn’t scale so much that it is impossible to complete.

Anyone else loving Canach now?

in Living World

Posted by: Aerinndis.2730

Aerinndis.2730

I think Canach is one of Anet’s best creations, as far as characters go. He’s one of the few NPCs who has had a real character arc. We’ve seen him go from villain to remorseful prisoner to (now) a free Sylvari and hero. I can’t think of many others (if any) that have actually shown that much growth.

Plus, the fact that he’s given such deliciously snarky lines just endears him even more to me. That whole comment about Canach finding Caudecous’ “daddy” line disturbing made me die during the fight because I was laughing so hard.

I absolutely love Canach’s satirical comments too. Such a great character with real depth. I suspect we will see him again in the future and I look forward to seeing what that free sylvari will get up to.

I think this episode had many moments of great dialogue and at least one hysterical moment when we saw Lord Faren. That one nearly got us killed as we were laughing so hard.

Kudos to the team that worked on this. I have enjoyed going around listening to NPC conversations as you never know what you are going to hear. (check out the NPC conversations throughout the Bazaar – there is one involving the guy in the well. It is very chuckleworthy!) I also loved when reading the notes we collected about Caudecus that one mentioned the drunk in the bazaar as well.

I can give some tips since I caved and decided to map complete on my other characters.

For the heart of the west end of the map, ignore the ration kits and go south to the training area. You want to do the shield blocking which takes maybe 10 blocks to complete the heart. This is the fastest that I have found to complete it.

For Loamhorst, go to all of the traps and collect everything. Kill all crabs and scales that spawn. Save the seafood for Saidra as you’ll be killing two birds with one stone. If you can hop do a different instance then do so but this likely won’t be an option in a few weeks after everyone abandons the map. Putting out fires is fairly quick to add progression. If there’s a defend event or skirmish, I try to tag mobs.

The bazaar’s heart if probably the quickest to complete. Just fight the overzealous villagers. They give decent progression and you can usually complete the heart after maybe 7 of them. There also seems to be a bug where if you feed one of the seraph some corn outside the west gate when the bar is above 60%, the heart will instantly complete.

Fort Evenia’s heart goes quickly if you know how to avoid detection. Using water from the well to put out the forge in the first area adds a decent amount of progression. This usually takes me a few minutes to complete.

Saidra is one of the longer ones to complete as nothing yields decent progression. This was why I suggested farming the traps at Loamhorst. One of the cooks will take the seafood which should reward progression depending on how many you turned in. The quickest way seems to be during the defend event and just tagging as many mobs as you can.

For Nolan, the defend event seems to be the quickest. I noticed that some of the ghosts, after their event completes, award decent progression but it could have been a fluke. This is probably the grindiest one to complete.

Great tip using shield blocking to get that heart! The rest of the stuff just seems to take forever. Putting out the fires helps too if you know where the water buckets are.

In Loamhurst check the outer walls because you can repair flags. Some have tattered flags and some have just the holder so they are a bit hard to see and you have to get right up on them to get the repair option. Those can help fill the heart too.

Fort Evenia avoiding detection is more patience than anything. In the rooms other than the one with the forge all the npcs will eventually leave the room so you have to watch their pathing. For the forge you have to wait for the walking npcs to leave and the forge guy to go away from the forge so that his back is to you when you poison the rations. Also for a lot of the areas if you can get behind the rations or document barrel and into a corner so that they are between you and the npcs you seem to have a better chance at not being detected though the npc does have to be the right distance away from you or out of the room for it to be successful.

I posted this in the Official Feedback forum:

Map looks great, but events are just OK. Biggest problem is AGAIN they have set achievements that need to fail events. Time and time again, this creates toxic players as 1 group wants to finish and another group will purposely sabotage the events to make them fail with nasty comments and threats. We have seen this simply does not work and causes issues, yet the devs continue to do this. Very disappointing.

I think this is bringing out toxic players because of how the events are interconnected with some of the achievements and hearts.

Player A needs to fill his heart or get a daily done. Player B has the daily but would like to get an achievement or hidden achievement connected with the failure of the event in the area. A conflict is set up because of the different priorities which depend on an event failing or succeeding and what a particular player is trying to accomplish. It also leads to trolls taking advantage of that conflict especially if they know people are needing an event to fail so they can work on legitimate achieves. It gets more toxic as people get upset at the lack of cooperation to get these achieves.

I agree it is very frustrating. Last night I just left the map after it was obvious some were just not going to let anyone get the hidden achieve in Saidra’s Haven or let the skritt event spawn either.

Maybe the hidden event Execute the Executioner could be moved elsewhere and not dependent on the failure to defend the town. Possibly it could be tied to some of the small White Mantle camps in the area and move around among those either randomly or during a certain period at all of them to give players a chance at the achieve. There are plenty of NPCs roaming about that could be taken captive and need to be freed for that. That would leave only the Honorary Crew achieve tied to the failure to defend and that could be separated out from the defend fail/success as well by spawning either skritt or White Mantle randomly independent of whether the town is defended or not.

I do think they need to separate these events out a bit and remove them from being part of failed events. Even if player interest wanes on defense of the town you will always have players who need to open up the heart which resets daily to get access to the vendor and the trolls who aim to thwart folks from gaining achieves for grins and giggles. I just cannot see any win-win with the situation/achieves the way it is currently set up.

I have only seen the Torch Runners event once in all the times I have been on the map and it was up and disappeared so quickly I could not even find what direction to go. Also getting Moonlighting and Honorary Crew Member achieves should not be dependent on an empty map with few people. I am hopeful these three achieves get adjusted so folk can get them in a more reasonable manner.

The events that have to fail to get other events to spawn is bad, bad, bad. Saidra’s Haven hidden event is impossible to do except on a nearly empty map. We just had the defend spawn and despite folk asking to let it fail so the Execute the Executioner event could pop some defended and basically said, “Hidden events are for nerds.” and proceeded the get the defend. It is a terrible conflict because folk are also there defending to get the heart open and get dailies so the achieve is nearly impossible unless you can get an empty map to do it in which I have yet to see.

By rumors, you need to fail event with ghosts that appears near noran’s homestead; only after that event with ghost lumberjacks appears, however there’s always someone doing that event, so failing it is just impossible and I couldn’t check those rumors.

The ghost event near Noran’s homestead is tied to another achievement – Friend of the Forest – where you have to talk to the friendly ghosts and pick the right dialogue and make them Restful Spirits. If you give the wrong answer they turn into Outraged Spirits. If the rumor is true that the event has to fail for the lumber mill ghosts to spawn than it definitely conflicts with folk trying to get the Friend of the Forest achieve.

I did see the lumber mill one spawn once. The first day we waited through several day/night cycles and it never showed. Yesterday we finally saw it and completed it we thought successfully but never got credit for the Moonlighting achieve.

I liked the new map and found it fun to explore. I enjoyed the story but did have some issues with the end fight.

Other issues with this episode:

White Mantle mobs everywhere and respawn way too quickly once you clear an area.

Event with ghosts in the forest is turning into the Ember Bay skritt redux where people talk to ghosts, get the wrong answer and run away leaving enraged ghosts for others to deal with. The ghosts are overpowered and White Mantle mobs are intermixed where the ghosts spawn making it nearly impossible to take care of the ghosts solo.

Pirate ghost event at lumber mill never spawned even though a guildie and I waited for a long time through a day/night cycle. We are not sure if something else needed to happen/fail for the ghosts to appear. They did not appear at night either as we expected.

Quaggan escort spawned White Mantle at a spot in the water that was too shallow to do underwater fighting and would not let you fight as on land.

Pirate ship supply escort spawned champs stealing supplies that you could not take down before they got away. Not that many folk were doing the event but I suspect the event ramped up due to the number of folk in the nearby town.

I did the story with two other guildies and had some issues there as well:

In the Throne Room you need to salute an aspiring guard, talk to the ladies in waiting and make a guard laugh. The first two were easy but the third one two of us got and had no idea how they got it. The tip says glide, swim, pet. We tried gliding from everywhere we could glide and saw the guards turn and look but nothing else happened. Swim is impossible as the fountain area is not deep enough. Pet is not an emote though we figured it meant playing with the cat. One guildie thought we had to get close enough to one of the guards and play with the cat as that was what he was doing when he got the achieve. I went to the same spot and was unable to get the achieve. The other guildie had no idea how she got it because it just popped.
Edit: Turns out that You have to glide, jump in the water and pet the cat quickly as you get a short buff for each as you do them and you need to complete them all before the buffs run out

Achieve to answer the riddles correctly. We did the instance twice and the second time we answered the questions correctly but only two of us got the achieve and the third didn’t.

Final Boss fight – when the door opened we all went in together but I got stuck in the door and was not able to get out until I finally was killed. I think the door closed too quickly as we did not delay at all and were together as we ran in. My guildies had to get the npc away because she kept rezzing me. Once I died then I was able to get back in and assist. Another guildie reported the same happened to him when he and some friends went in.

Any consistent way to make gold solo?

Aerinndis.2730

Never feel bad about buying gem cards. I buy them and also ask for them as gifts for birthdays and special occasions. They are super handy and a great idea for folk who do not know what present to get you.

What HnRkLnXqZ.1870 says is very true and well said. It took me a while to start making gold as I was leveling crafting and just amassing mats. Once I got crafting maxed I felt I was finally started making some gold. When working on my crafting levels I did look to see what was selling and if I had the mats to do it I made and sold stuff which helped defray a bit of the cost of crafting. I don’t think it is profitable to do just to make money though unless it is ascended materials.

I look at the map bonus rewards and go for the ones I need until I am maxed out and then start selling the excess that I don’t need. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_bonus_reward Make sure if you belong to a guild that you have map reward boosts going and find the Pact Supply Network Agents every day and purchase the Pact Mapping Materials as it will go a lot faster. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pact_Supply_Network_Agent
They also sell some special recipes that can earn a bit of money if you have the materials to make them. I will keep stacks of something if I decide I want to craft something like a legendary though. (elderwood and mithril come to mind…) Also I pretty much salvage everything and sell the mats vs trying to sell items unless they have a good value. Mystic Salvage kits are the best thing going too and cheap to make.

I know Silverwastes is a good spot to accumulate stuff to either sell or convert to mats to sell. I like Malchor for harvesting mats and Cursed Shore events as a ‘lootstick’ guardian can reap mightily. If you can find event trains on maps with good rewards you can go around until diminishing returns hit and bring an alt in to continue until you get enough of what you want. Also hit up maps that show up for dailies and run the events for stuff and harvest as you go in between. It all adds up.

Try to keep things fresh so you don’t feel like grinding. Do what you want to do when you feel like it and the money will come. I never keep track of what I am making. I just do the things & events I like doing, harvest as I go, kill everything because you get a lot of drops that way, save or sell mats depending on any plans I have and I have found it does add up.

I did it on 8 characters and have not regretted it. Eventually you may want to go for a legendary or you may get lucky and get a precursor somewhere. It took a lot of time before I decided I wanted to make a legendary. (I bought one of the cheaper ones – The Energizer and made it into the Moot and absolutely loved it once I did) I had a lot of satisfaction getting the completion and I did half of them when you also needed WvW which was a REAL pain back in the day.

Key to getting it done is switch it up and vary it. Do a bit every day. I would take a map, run clockwise or counterclockwise, get all the WPs and then go back and fill in the rest when I had some time. Some I started at the top and went to the bottom or vice versa. If you have friends who need it run together and harvest as you go. It is a win-win no matter what. I got keys, mats, xp etc. Just don’t try to get it done all in one go or you will burn out quickly.

It isn’t disabled because I got another avie one of the rift stabilizers last week. Nothing was spawning and no one was around so I brought in the avie that had the stabilizer and activated the rift and logged out, brought the other one in and jumped through so I could get the first stabilizer.

You might want to ask in map chat if someone with a stabilizer can stop by and activate a rift there so you can jump through and get started. There are three spots in the immediate area that can be activated. The only time I saw a delay in rifts spawning was when several folk had spawned rifts one after another but it did not take too long to be able to activate another in those three spots.

I think we should be able to make a salvage-o-matic mini out of them!

I agree. It would be nice to be able to mystic forge or turn them into the black lion trader for a mini salvage-o-matic. However, not if the mini walks around constantly spitting out the same dialog it does when salvaging. That would be annoying.

Another idea would be to be able to convert them into some kind of guild hall decoration.

Oh! I like that too!

I don’t feel that being able to recycle items such as the salvage-o-matic is really compensation just because I chose to buy multiples for the uber convenience. I just like the idea that stuff that may no longer be as relevant can be re-purposed or salvaged.

I imagine that maybe somewhere there is this huge virtual landfill full of stuff we can no longer use, lol. It just seems wasteful to have to chuck stuff into the landfill… Actually it would be fun to be able to go through it and look for stuff folk threw out by accident…

The idea of being able to recycle these and other items really appeals to me. I got great use out of all my salvage-o-matics so I don’t see any reason for a refund. But being a person who hates to waste things, it would be nice if we could trade them in for black lion tickets, or mystic forge them for something else like a special mini. Prior to the shared slots they were a wonderful convenience I do not regret buying the ones I bought. But some sort of recycle program for stuff would be wonderful.

If you get there as soon as the labyrinth opens you stand a better chance of making it to the center of the maze before the mobs increase and make it a lot harder. Just make sure you have your nightmare keys with you so you can loot the chest, which you can do multiple times with a short cooldown.

Dailies!

If I followed folks who ask in map chat for events, usually it was over by the time I could get there so rather than be frustrated, I just look for the lesser events and get them done.

I usually check the wiki for the area and go for the lesser known events. There are plenty out there that if you know where they are you can get there and get stuff done fairly quickly. The dailies have cycled through enough times that I usually know where to go on those maps and get the daily done each time it comes up.

Skritt Hit wintersday daily?

I was able to do the event within the festival area but it was a pain. What others have said about trying to target skritt while folk are kicking them or manage to hit them with a snowball was true for me. Most are gone before you can attempt to get a good aim. Also as time passes it seems less folk are running the Dolyak as often as they did at the beginning of the festival. Also I finally figured out you have to put the circle behind not on top of the skritt to get a good hit.

I only tried once to hit skritt outside the festival but kept showing in combat and couldn’t throw any snowballs so I gave up on that. I only tried after opening a present. I did not try in an area that normally has hostile skritt.

A possible solution is a hittable skritt or several that would periodically stroll around through the festival area or could periodically spawn where the magic snow is. They probably would still get mobbed but might give folk a better chance at getting the achieve.

Ball of Dark Energy 100% chance.

It’s 100% chance from weapons and armor.

Vayne is correct. According to the wiki Ascended amulets, accessories and backpieces have a very low chance and Ascended armor and weapons have a 100% chance.

Other than crafting if you get lucky and get an ascended weapon or armor chest to drop that might do it for you, though I know the drop rate can be low.

I usually make the Mystic Salvage kit. The fine, journeyman, and master salvage kits are cheap and most folk have 3 Mystic Forge stones. You can also use those Mystic Forge stone as a 4th item if you only have 3 of a certain level of armor, trinkets or weapons.

If you have enough items that you can’t salvage but can throw into the Mystic Forge you can chuck them in and get something back that can be salvaged. I also save any duplicate minis that can be forged for that purpose.

Pre Cursor crafting is a joke!

So I finally bought HoT and I was all hyped up that I would finally be able to craft my first pre cursor. I finished Incinerator I: The Experimental Dagger, and moved on to the second part Incinerator II. But on the half way of the achievement I said wait a minute, this costs waaay too many gold. So I did the math:

Spark on the Trading Post = 669 Gold

Achievement Crafting = 671 Gold

Incienator Vol 1 = 5 Gold
100 Memorys of Battle = 6 Gold
100 Shards of Glory = 1 Gold
10 Globs of Ectoplasm = 3 Gold
10 Elonian Leather Squares = 108 Gold
85 Deldrimor Steel Ingots = 512 Gold
25 Stabilizing Matrix = 10 Gold
100 Karka Shells = 7 Gold
Steel, Iron,Orichalcum.. Blades = 10 Gold
Steel, Iron,Orichalcum.. Hilts = 3 Gold
50 Elderwood Plank = 3 Gold
Gemstone + Lodestones = 3 Gold

After all the time and gold spent only to find out this!? Seriously I want my gold back, If I knew that pre cursor would cost me the same amount of gold like on TP, I wouldn’t even started crafting it. Opinions?

The devs tried to make the “journey” for legendaries more meaningful, not cheaper. Next time skip the crafting step and just buy the pre.

I bought several precursors (the cheaper ones) before crafting became available and a couple after because I wasn’t particularly interested in crafting a precursor at the time. I also have been saving mats for no particular reason other than I liked filling the material storage and I was (and am) still working to make the precursors I do have into Legendaries. I had no particular goal for most of the stuff other than I knew I would find a use for them at some point.

I know selling the mats probably would get me enough to buy a precursor or even a Legendary but I kind of like the journey to getting something rather than instant gratification. Eventually I went, “What the heck.” and decided to craft The Legend. I really enjoyed the experience and used up some of my mats. I didn’t count the value of what I had vs the value of just buying. Other than the mats I had on hand I think I spent a total of 34 gold outside of what I had to finish the precursor. For me it was definitely the journey and not the cost or how fast I could get something. I still have to get the mats finish Legendaries but I am enjoying that process as well.

Crafting was meant to take time and materials and planning. I took the list and worked on certain items at a time. The gated stuff, I usually make something every day so it builds up and I have been doing that since it started. Also if you get ahead of what you will need, you can sell any excess to defray any other costs. Ditto for any excess mats.

Other than the time gated stuff everything else on that list can be gotten in a pretty decent amount of time with no extra expense other than the time it takes to work to get it. I think if you feel the time is not worth it to you, then you should have sold the mats and just bought the precursor no matter which cost more to make. The difference in price between crafting and buy is 2 gold which is negligible. If the spread was larger I might have considered whether I would craft vs buy.

I would like to see a reason for making the elixir and going back into the bitter cold area (some interesting event with a reward that makes it worth it).

I would also like a reason to use the svanir armor to go back into the Svanir hive other than to talk to the heart vendor. Once you buy what you want from him there is no interest in going back. It would be fun to use it to do a special event such as enough folk sneaking in within period of time can trigger a bigger event that could give a nice reward. Folk who worked to get the armor and got in get the extra reward.

I have yet to see anyone trying to do the quaggan event in the spiral to raise the temperature in time. Usually folk just let it fail and then take out the icebrood to reset. It seems to be easier to do that than trying to get enough folk engaged in saving the quaggans. It seems on the pointless side. Also once it ends quaggans stream out towards Sorrow’s Eclipse. It would have made sense to have an escort for them I think since they seem to pass unharmed through the same mobs we had to fight to get into the area.

How do I get 100% map completion for all my alts without doing the story?

By taking the thermal tube, the same one used to get the mastery point, then freezing to death.

I did this on a third character and got map completion without doing any of the story. Just take that thermal tube and you will die but as you fall you get the poi. Other than the near insta-die from the cold at least I didn’t have to battle my way through mobs to get to the poi.
