It’s a l2p issue. Really every class has some way to counter or deal with stealth. Let’s not forget stealth is terrible for actually trying to cap a point. Thieves that keep stealthing when their health is low, run off to occ, and come back will just keep doing this over and over. Of course they will never cap the point so ultimately they “lose”
Well in that case , I don’t think a legend focused on DPS will help a lot in regards to damage if it’s this low.
Here’s to hoping the glint legend has us turn into a huge dragon. Seems to be the only option to save Revenant at this point ;-p
I’m against it because the current block feature works. It works and we don’t need Anet dumping resources into something like OP suggested. I’m not colorblind but I would much rather prefer Anet work on a colorblind mode if they are fixing QoL issues.
OP they won’t implement this anyway. If you spend any decent amount of time in the forums and have a general understating of Anet and how they work it won’t happen so really just close the thread there’s no point. Have a nice day

Yeah, for some fractals the ranged weapon is mandatory. Also it’s pretty bad you can’t swap, since some fractals have different phases.
Or at least give the game a good option to swap sets while not in battle. Come on, i need to open the inventory every time, really?
That’s also pretty frustrating when you swap a 2 weapon set with a 2h weapon, since the offhad one just goes in the first free inventory slot.The ONLY “mandatory range” 2nd weapon in fractals is against Reactor boss. Everything else is fine in Melee. And even then it doesn’t take long to get melee range back.
Rev def needs another range option, though, for other situations.
I highly suspect this will be changing with HoT and expanding fractals to most likely higher level tiers. I could be wrong but regardless we need more ranged options. I pug a lot and I need ranged to help carry.
My question is are we going to be getting another ranged option for rev. If not Revenant is going to have some serious problems in certain PvE content that require ranged DPS weapons.
You should have switched characters at the final shard. Just saying. I ran 4 fractals and did that to keep end reward.
For AR: before next beta keep your AR gear in your bank. Your bank will be copied for the beta character when the next beta goes live. You can then re equip your warrior/guardian with his AR gear while the same set of gear will still be in the bank for your Revenant.
I suspect swords will come if shiro is indeed the 4th spec, which strong indications show

We have not released all weapons and legends for the Revenant yet. Right now there is definitely a gap in the playstyles offered as we haven’t discussed the more pure DPS focused setup yet. soon tm.
If hammer is the only ranged weapon, and there isn’t a more DPS like weapon for range… This is going to be a big blow to content like fractals or any fights that require range at some point while switching between range and melee. Hammer DPS is too low for the only range weapon.
Does anyone know if there is speculation for more ranged options for revenant?
As I understand it we are only going to be getting more melee weapons.

Yeah the no weapon swap isn’t working in settings like fractals. Sometimes you really need range but the DPS is so bad on hammer…. But oh well you need range so you are stuck with it. unless hammer gets a huge overhaul this will remain a problem where revenant will not be welcome in a lot of PvE content that requires range at some point in the fight.

I heard there is an increased chance to get one with the beta weapons. Because Anet rolls like that.
I ran a few dungeons, world bosses and 4 fractals on Revenant. I got to say the utility for support is nice such as projectile block and stability as well as some blast finishers.
My main problem at this point is a huge lack of traits that are more viable in PvE. I undersrand we are still missing one legend which will be the “Power” trait line. However the other two trait lines we would still have to choose would be rather lacking in my opinion. I can see how these traits can synergize well in PvP but I’m not seeing this much this way for PvE.
Retribution: Mostly this trait line lets us take less damage. Great for PvP and WvW. The only trait PvE worthy is empowering vengeance, though most parties have a ele or warrior to stack might so this is somewhat redundant.
Corruption: Mostly this is condi driven which is great if you want to go that route but PvE is mostly damage/berserker driven. I could see this line being somewhat useful if you are going against mobs with lots of condi spam. I suppose Maniacal Persistsnce is somewhat decent as well.
Invocation: This line is more of a hybrid healing. Out of all the lines this line seems to be a bit odd to me, however it is also the best line that will synergize with berserker with Rouling Mists and Fierce Infusion.
Salvation: This is obviously the healing line. Which is okay I suppose if we are getting new challenging content that requires a lot of healing and can’t be mastered with dodge/blocks/standard heal/ and other standard damage mitigation skills.
So overall I don’t see much synergy with Berserker builds besides the invocation line to some extent. Yes I know we still have the power trait line coming but I personally feel the other lines we get to pick from are really lacking. Of course we still have yet to see the specialization for Revnant as well so perhaps this concern is for nothing if the Power line and the Specilization line have a better synergy with berserker.
And yes I am a berserker fan boy. If Anet is movin away from breaker meta I’m fine with this however I hope that means we are getting actual challenging content that can’t be done with berserker.

I’m not sure how this skill is to work exactly. But currently even if boss has stacks of defiance it will teleport them to you anyway.
A more major concern is with moss heart on swamp fractal. You can move him around with this skill which is obviously not intended. It would be easy to move him to a spot to LOS him.
Lots of other threads about this but most of them are lost like 8-10 pages back. The trait system is okay. Yeah there are some big negatives but overall I don’t have an issue with it. You could look over those old threads if you like.
There’s a lot of issues with voice lines. My ele only says attunement lines when he gets thrown out of the mystic forge lol. Otherwise he won’t say “air,earth, water fire”
We can assume that communication means you are engaging in community with other players. By not communicating you aren’t engaging with the community.

@ Krzygum Well sort of. If a party can not progress because someone isn’t listening to advice then they get kicked. It’s not toxic. The person not working with the rest of the party to achieve a goal is more “toxic” at that point. As they are not engaging in community by talking and learning. So they get kicked.

Learnng by doing is better for community and social experience than cold booded followin guides.
Except you aren’t always playing with the same people. Everyday you do teq, unless you are In one of the guilds that do this (if you were you’d be required to know the tactics) you’ll be with different people.
So everyday you could get a newbie on turrets that is “learning by doing” and fail over and over.
I have this problem in fractals all the time. People don’t ask and so they die a lot. They either quite or end up getting kicked. Usually I will explain fights if someone is dieing a lot and half the time that is taken well. The other half the time people don’t listen or get upset that I was explaining what they should be doing. Then after a couple wipes I’ll kick those people and really don’t feel any guilt for doing so.
Wouldn’t this take a lot of server space to load an entire map for only one person?
Side note: Hero points or skill points were never s test of skill. Mostly you can auto attack and done. Or you push F to commune and done. Really no skill here…
Ok so I took some time to think about this. OP you should look up complex and compounding trauma. If this is seriously and issue for you in game, you really should seek some mental health help. I’m not saying this to be rude or condenseding. It’s just the only thing that makes sense. And as others have stated you may want to just take a break if this is seriously causing you some psychological distress.

Yes this is what is making me rather irritated. There are REAL victims of abuse or trauma. What the OP and several other people are chiming in on makes it sound like they are victims of real abuse. This virtual trolling is nothing like real abuse except in perhaps extreme cases where someone is buying extra accounts to continually harass you to get around the block feature. In that case Anet isn’t going to be able to help you much anyway but I doubt anyone has a problem like that here on this thread. In real life you can’t block you’re abuser. In real life the abuser is manipulative and controlling. He/she abuses the victim and apologizes; explains how they will change and to stay with them for the children. They will attempt to control every aspect of their lives so the victim feels there really is no way out of the abuse. Emotionally the abuser keeps the victim in check so that the victim believes no one can love them except for the abuser.
So block and move on you really aren’t a victim of “personal ABUSE”

It’s a great idea. People arguing that it will affect casual players… If their gear gets that broken and they have not figured out they need to head to a repair npc, this mechanic will make it more likely that they will question why they can’t get rez’d and therefore figure out their gear is broken and they need to repair.
Nothing wrong with discussing it. It’s just something to talk about, after all A-net really sticks to what they said! Kind of like how they did with the release of FoTM and ascended gear (sarcasm and joking here).

You should go warrior. Mesmer is fun to play but hard to master. A small minority play it efficiently. Actually Mesmer is better than guardian for speed clear meta but a majority of the player base prefers guardian, because it’s easier to play, and can help carry the party more than a Mesmer if some players aren’t good at knowing boss mechanics/dodges etc. so this is why Mesmer gets left out of meta parties. Granted people aren’t going to kick you usually for just being a Mesmer, but if there is a guard in the party already, you are somewhat redundant.
You mean which trait like improves certain stats? Trait lines don’t do this anymore.
If you mean the way people are giving builds with the 1s and 0s. I agree this is confusing and people should stick with using abbreviations for names.
I feel bad for you guys. I don’t even have the legend due to the issues but I think you all really deserve some type of response. This issue is obviously pushed to the back burner indefinitely at this point when it really should not be in my opinion.

Yeah it won’t happen but this is a reason why I really like final fantasy. It adds so much to the story development to have one character. It’s also convient because you aren’t doing map completion or needing to get Things like WPs over and over again.
I think the current set up is better. Devs (I would assume) consider suggestions that have a lot of people backing them, rather than just the OP. A suggestion is likely to get a lot more attention in the appropriate forum, rather than in a separate forum where players may never visit, and therefore not know about the suggestion, and therefore not reply and support the suggestion. Which means a dev would be less likely to consider it.
It’s more messy this way. But if a suggestion has a lot of support it is likely a Dev will notice. Ones that don’t have a lot of support will much more easily fall to the wayside which isn’t a bad thing.
This argument is at about a 2 for logic/effort, a 10 for trolling, and an 11 for #SpecializationHugger. There were other threads that communicated this idea better. The title isn’t even discussing the topic. The topic isn’t very clear.
In response to the vague topic I’ll say I don’t think anyone is going to be shocked if Anet continues to do major balance changes. There are a ton of threads with people saying they do not like these changes. People played for years now before these changes and if damage is scaled back from a “10” to where it was previously, it isn’t going to be game breaking because that is where it sat for so long. Personally I like harder content. We do not know what HoT holds. I am hoping (probably vainly) for the recent upgrades to be a response to HoT content; that Anet felt this content was too challenging so players needed buffed. But only time will tell.

I think they need to “un nerf” the salvage rate for runes. When they increased the return rate this really was a nerf to physical well being of my hands and my mental health with more clicking.

You can delete the junk rather than selling it to a vender. I do this all the time. But there is no solution for your problem. If there was, nobody would buy the copper fed o matic. So they won’t be increasing the stack size anytime soon of salvage kits. You’re best off closing the thread at this point.
Fully buffed Ele using lightning storm, icebow 4 while mob disabled, and metor shower while attuned to water and above 90% Hp on a large hit box boss = crazy amount of damage. If you add that up if say you could get to 90000 but that’s very specific conditions that only really good parties can pull off.
But no. Nobody is auto attacking for 50000
I’ve been in the TTS NA runs, and we’ve made a few discoveries that might shed some light on the situation.
1. Teq’s crit spot (anchor or head, I forget which) has more armor then his foot. Attacking the foot nets your more basic damage then you could even crit on the head during the burn phases.
2. Ranged attacks are a waste of time now. With the HP buff, there are just too many problems that can only be solved through double damage spots.
3. The other night we stumbled upon a triple damage spot by his anchor that (from what I remember) works in both the normal and burn phases.
4. Because of the HP total, burn phases are much harder to sustain. I don’t know the exact time of the patch, but the last Teq run I was in couldn’t burn through any of the phases, and usually costed an extra 2-3 min to shave the rest off in a normal phase. (I’m guessing this was post patch due to the abysmal DPS).
I’m pretty sure the triple damage spot is the only option now, as even a fully might stacked zerg had trouble with the burns.
I’ve seen the videos of the Guardian zergs stacking on the crit spot. I refuse to take the Easy Mode way out of Teq. Even in WvW and SPvP, I never misused my Guardian since the patch. Call it a dumb move or a moral high horse, but I don’t exploit (even if Anet says it’s technically not an exploit because it’s a bug). I would have preferred Anet disable the bugged trait immediately, than to double all the World Boss HPs.
Did Anet know the guardian symbol bug before the HP buff? You’re post seems to say that you assume they did. I think this was discovered later on. Anyway people aren’t doing this anymore as it has been disabled and they are still killing teq. So there’s that.
Quite a few of these seem due to lag. Gaile you might want to update your original post about how lagging players near a drop off are likely to die from fall damage even if they aren’t jumping off the side of a cliff, but the game believes they have because of lag. Of course I guess you guys can rule this out yourselves as well, but it may help others realize they need to fix those lag issues or there will continue to have this issue.
Can I tell you about high AP pug fractals. I have 15k AP. over 2000 runs I know fractals inside out. And I have warriors not running PS, ele’s not running persisting flames, Guadians not using WoR or SoA or doing things like GS5 on chanters at boss. Sometimes I even have warriors that don’t run banners. The worst thing is these people think they are leet and won’t take advice. More often than not I get responses like " …….." Just tonight I had 2 guards, one with 23k AP who just said “……” After I explained 3 times how to GS5 the chanters to the middle and drop WoR. Of course he was quick to use GS5 when all stacks were off and I was going to Deep Freeze.
Although I don’t mind terribly much. Carrying at least makes it challenging and more interesting.
Totally agree. Actually my character stutters a lot because of this signet. He starts saying something about his speed but then will say something like “I feel strong” because might procs as the same time.
The stutter is really annoying as well.
There’s a thread somewhere where Gail addressed this. They are working on it to be fixed by next patch

what if u get a team who kick if u dont agree? just leave? :/Yes, you can get banned for “glitching a boss it in a way its impossible to fail”. That is the very sum definition of EXPLOIT. You are exploiting the boss in a way not meant in the design of the content to defeat said content for the rewards. That is against the terms of service.
And if you get a team that is trying this, LEAVE THE GROUP. Don’t be a part of it or you’re risking a ban yourself. You know it’s wrong. They know it’s wrong. The thing about it is to be a better player and not do what’s wrong just because “shinnies!”.
Sadly, these exploits have become so common people ADVERTISE that they’re using them on LFG. I’ve seen “AC 1, 3+2” more than once out there.
People have been doing this with moss man for at least a year now. There have been no bans for it. It’s a bug. It can also take longer doing it this way. And this fractal is rather unbalanced as oaky is much easier. This may be another reason why they haven’t worried about it.
The AC bug also has you lose out on some tokens so those that use it save time but lose tokens.
Most people I think could agree that Anet will not be banning for either of these offenses UNLESS they first make a public announcement about this, and explain those who continue to do this behavior will face consequences. Just like they did for gold buyers and cracking down on people who bought gold. It was first made publicly aware on the forums and these players were forwarned before they started cracking down.
If you really think this through that makes the most sense. Think about the headache and loss of income Anet would have if they started banning people for doing things like this now. Those bugs have been around for so long now that a lot of people have done them. Mans I don’t think they want to ban people over something so trivial.
