You could indicate at the start of the dungeon you could say you will kick anyone that does this if it bothers you so much. If only one person does it I don’t find it to be a big deal personally. Though yeah a bit annoying.
They might be finding her by having her on a block list or friend list. It’s possible to figure out what pvp server she is on by doing this. It can take some one because all they will know is that she is currently on, for example, sky hammer. And there’s currently 8 sky hammer maps going. Eventually they would figure out which server she is on
To avoid this if she would set her status to offline they wouldn’t be able to find her. Of course she can’t get whispers then. But yeah. If they find her I would just change servers and put stays to offline.
You can report them in game but I think you already did report them if I am reading correctly.
Otherwise you just right click the character name and add them to block list. Eventually they should stop if you don’t respond to their comments. And since they are blocked you won’t see their comments so you won’t be responding.
There’s really nothing else that can be done. If they make new accounts or get friends to join in on it then block them as well. If it would somehow continue after trying all that then you may just want to play offline for awhile.
Id make this too if it was fixed. Currently able to make 3 legendaries but waiting for the HOT. Of course precursor isn’t too bad for this one so if it was fixed I’d make it now. But oh well.
How do you know it’s easy to implement? It’s very possible that recent patches could have broken those old areas. I’d love to see this happen to but if we are going to be realistic it won’t be happening. It’s a nice thought though.
You might want to preview them by having someone link them in chat or pulling the chat code off Dulfy. Not sure but your shoulder armor may clip with them.
Nick names are what friends can give you in their friend list. I’m not sure why you would care to see that… Personally I use weird nicknames for people. Such as pugs that I do fractals with that we’re really good I nickname them something like “fractal”
If you’re really bad I put you on my block list and nick name you a number of how bad you were incase you’re in my party again and if I feel like having to be really patient or not.
At first I was using different names for my characters around avatars from final fantasy. But that got to be confusing. So I rerolled several characters and used some name change contracts.
My first name on my characters is Vaelin from one of my favorite fantasy book series, Raven’s Shadow.
My last name changes and is always based on a “profession” in my other favorite book series, The Stormlight Archieves.

Well HoT is going to be changing things a lot. But as of now Mesmer can be challenging to play right but few people play it well. With the new trait lines Mesmer DPS has picked up a bit but staff ele is still higher in DPS. Seriously staff ele gets +30% damage with firestorm and ice bow… Plus some might stacking and 100% fury uptime. Most parties will have at least one warrior and phalanx strength was placed in a even more convenient spot in trait trees so might stacking during the fight isn’t really a priority for ele, just making sure to blast fire fields for fury but a couple blasts does the trick. Although you might want to stack might before the fight with something other than staff
Sorry your money in the “order of thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of dollars” will have to go unused. Or maybe you can donate it to an actual charity where it can do some good?
I find your comment somewhat unfair, because despite its’ legitimacy, one could apply it endlessly to the ‘resting place’ of any amount of money, placed there by any person.
For example, a movie ticket at $15 – that money could also have been given to charity, should one have chosen to forgo the viewing experience. Would you view those who chose to see the movie with equal disdain, as you seem to be doing in your post above?
What? He isn’t trying to pay for a service. He is trying to donate money to a for profit company where it will most likely not go to anywhere he would like it to go, such as to the staff pay checks or to hiring new people. At least with a charity you have some idea where it is going.
There amount of gold required to purchase the armor really isn’t that much. I had 7 million karma at one point and converted it all to linen scraps (most profitable karma conversion atm).
I bought like 8 t3 sets myself. It would be a low blow to have it easily obtained now when I grinded out for those skins. It’s very easy to get karma. Maybe one piece for 500,000 karma then I might be somewhat agreeable. But not that it matters this won’t happen anyway…,

Just the weapons and armor at this point. You can choose the stats on rings only by using pristine relics to buy the specific one you want. Also keep in mind you cant have two of the same named ring unless you infuse one. So don’t buy ring of red death if you already have one, there’s another ring though with the same stats I can’t recall the name at the moment though.
Laurels are only from daily login. You should buy neck pieces with those. Earrings are better acquired through guild missions commendations, rings are better acquired through fractals. But of course to each their own. .
Badges of course are from doing wvw and also from achievement point chests that you get every 500 AP. however be careful what runes you put on them as you can’t remove them without an expensive gem store item as they can not be salvaged.
It’s nice that they made so many different areas and divided them up so that each area had a specific purpose.
But after running around a few times this gets old quick.
Please add a centralized spot where we can access the bank, tp, merchant and repair dude.
Another idea: if you really want everyone to experience the whole city instead of just one area I would suggest having a moving “services” group where they set up shop in different areas of LA on a weekly basis. I think that could be really fun. The centralized spot would change every week.

Nice idea but you can already do this just by mix and matching colors on your armor. And it does look pretty bad. It really wouldn’t work on armor as a dye unless it was tiny little rainbow stripes or something but I personally don’t think that would look too great.
They stopped making underwater weapons for the BLTC some sets back.

Think about it; there’s no proper good underwater places to fight anyway. It just doesn’t see use. Also because no one wants to fork out more gold/tickets to finish their black lion collections just for some measly underwater weapon skins that will rarely see use.
They even removed water from some parts of the game… probably due to the NPE being too confusing. I can’t source this but a lot of forum goers went and found the places (I think all the starter zones had water taken out?) so it may just be a coincidence. Ah well.
No underwater areas were taken away from starter zones. However there was a pvp map taken out and wvw areas adjusted. This was primarily because underwater combat is not balanced and instead of balancing it they took it out for the most part. I believe there is a old dev post somewhere explaining this but that is at least a year old
Nope. First it’s really hard to predict when someone will jump or be in the air. The cast time of the skill plus the time it takes the projectile to reach the player to immobilize them would make this really hard to pull off. Secondly there’s no way to discern if someone is accidentally immobilizing you in mid air or doing on purpose unless of course they told you they were. Of course it’s unlikely that someone would repeatedly immobilize players in mid air consistently but that isn’t outside the realm of possibility.
There are dance volumes that let you learn the dances you get from boxes of fun. Idk if they are planning to add new ones though. But with that item you can learn a new dance and invite others to dance with you just like with the box, except it’s an account bound item in your inventory that you click to use.
At the least, they should let us preview the new character customization options. Currently, there’s no option.
This would be cool and easy to implement. You could go to a make over shop or something like that. And there would be a npc there that would talk to you have give you a prompt to pull up the preview window of all the current face/hair/body styles. I agree it is annoying that you have to purchase a total make over kit or hair style kit to even bring this preview window up and decide if you like the new style or not.

In regards to the troll like posts I would just ignore them. There are all kinds of people that play this game, so of course there are going to be people that lack empathy. It’s not always their fault either; they may have mild autism or some other reason for struggling with that. And death is somewhat a taboo subject in the U.S. So I think it would be best if everyone would just ignore those types of replies though I’m sure a lot of people will want to stick up for you which is understandable as well.

Jumping puzzles are everything wrong in the world.
I would literally spend money to have a tool that can cheese these things.
It’s fine having to find the entrance and going around and exploring, but when it comes to jumping on these narrow sticks shoved in the side of walls, and cramped overheads to bang your head on, and then having to start all over again when you mess up, it’s really just too much for me.
The worst part is that you have to do them for map completion.
You have no idea how badly a missed area hurts my OCD, the pain is excruciating.
(EDIT: I primarily mean jumping puzzles that keep you from getting to a vista)
To clarify, I didn’t make this for the ascended back item, as I mentioned I already have infused ascended spinal blades. The back items I got while crafting this are just sitting in my bank. I only mentioned those as they are part of the reward for crafting Mawdrey II.
I crafted Mawdrey II so I could stop dumping Bloodstone Dust and maybe get something in return. I honestly expected around 50 silver to 1 gold a day. I thought that would be a reasonable return for the work involved in crafting but instead it seems to give the same kind of drops as from the Star of Gratitude which I made with next to no effort. It’s a little under-whelming to me and so I started this thread.
Even though star of gratitude is easier to get, you also get the ascended back piece with mawdry. Of course as you’ve said this didn’t matter to you but that’s why it was harder to obtain than the star of gratitude. And as others have said its the cheapest option for an ascended back piece. So to most people it’s the back piece that matters more than the blood stone dump.
Don’t discount the power of mounts.

re: People with lots of money just buy matts on the Tp to get around the time gate.- You still have to grind for the stuff to make Vision Crystals, and Lesser Vision Crystals. And like I said, some of the things they do don’t make sense to me. But they will probably not change the time gate significantly, if at all.
You can grind enough of the matts to make enough vision crystals for a full set in under a week. But grinding isn’t time gating which is what OP is taking about. The bloodstone shards etc do slow down some people a little bit if they don’t already have a ton saved up from playing, but not nearly as much as time gate for bolt of damask etc. you can do the math if you want but my guess is to make a full as des set and with weapons it takes at least 6 weeks.
This is so that people with lots of money can’t have a full set of Ascended armor, with a decent selection of Ascended weapons in 20 minutes. Then have nothing further to work towards, and get bored after playing a couple of hours with all “best in slot” stuff. This is the same reason that Legendaries are such a pain to make. If you can get the absolute best stuff in the game in a few minutes, you probably aren’t going to play for long. Of course the fact that you can buy Legendaries kinda flies in the face of all this. But Anet is not always consistent, IMO. Some of the things that they do don’t make sense to me.

To some extent, when you sell it on the TP, people are buying it to get around the time gate which makes the seller have more of a profit than if there was no time gate.
I personally am not a fan of them just showing us all of the professions and the elite specializations in the livestreams and weekly posts, and I am 100% against them bread crumb feeding us little bits of HoT via patches, like specialization traits, imo this will make HoT feel less new.
Well you don’t have to read it. Some people like it and some people don’t. There would be more complaining if there was nothing. And you can’t choose to read something that doesn’t exsist, though you can choose not to read something that does exsist. Personally I’ve glanced over most of it but haven’t chosen a new build or really looked at how the traits synergize yet because I want to do that when it comes out in game.
Mesmer magic. Most of this has been built already but you can’t see it. The workers are all mesmers. If you recall the nightmare tower it was the same way.
The “place holder content” is obviously the forum game. We just need to come up with set rules and how to earn points. I think we ought to brainstorm ideas on how someone can win. Maybe they can get a special title. We should brain storm titles too. Even though I’m being somewhat sarcastic there is a lot of truth to this.
