Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.
WvW is worth for leveling from lvls 60 onwards.
Anyway, with a upscaled character you’re likely going to be a rallybot and get flamed, so meh.
Got in he LFG beta (even if i’m playing very little to nothing lately, but w/e).
Seems to work fine, and growing number of ppl enabled to use it makes it better and better.
As far as issues goes, i fear i’ll have to repeat:
-no “accept to party” for joiners. I want to be able to choose who can join and who don’t. Call me a douc*e, but atm is too easy to grief.
-no story/explorable flag. Fractals grouped oddly.
-no WvW tab.
-needs a flag to the merging feature if possible.
The server that has incapable of calculation in WvW now got more load.
1- CHeck 15 node and reapply buff for 2000 people.
2- Check blodolust and give stomp buff for every stomp in 4map.
this.
/15 charrs
I’m just going to do spvp.
Anet to WvW team: Mission Accomplished.
I’d definitely prefer to have the “Confirm join” button, instead of ppl flooding in the party w/o notice.
Falso, abside being annoying, it’s open to griefing imo.
If you’re not a troll, then you’re incredibly naive (no offense intended).
The only thing killing off WvW are shortsighted stubborn devs.
Also, what sacrx said.
Situations for Banner of Strenght:
-if there is already a War with Discipline
-if the boss is crits immune
end.
why not try to gvg when both sides have 1 buff each? it’s harder but still possible
Paradoxically, it would have been possible with Orbs.
Bloddlust is instead designed such as the buff property can flip extremely fast, so mantaining a even amount of buff to two servers is hard to achieve even for the duration of a single round.
Let’s see what Bloodlust update accomplished:
a) splitting the zerg
Bwahahaha…nope.
b) making engi and ranger viable
The whole roaming got bumped up in “server effort usefulness”, so isn’t exactely “Ranger and Engi”. But i’ll agree on this.
c) possibly cut down on spam and thus skill lag
Skill lag has been arguably worse since patch. And even if skill spamming is (do it?) reduced, it’s compensated by the insane calculations due to the buff check/apply every few sec to 2k targets.
Very good points.
+1
How to fix Bloodlust: take it away.
Done.
One of my guildies has access to it. AFAIK he hasn’t used it yet.
Well, a LFG tool where 99,9% of the players are not included is kinda useless tbh.
From the markings on the forehead, i’d say 100% Caithe.
Theory: Devon plays on JQ. This would explain a lot.
That would imply he or anybody of his team play real WvW.
The fact that Devon responded to this post, were the OP looks extremely happy about patch (compared to rest of forums) is beyond hilarious.
Other mods merged like 15 of them in a single one for your convenience Devon, now you can answer to all of them at once.
I’m waiting.
What people wants:
-first: new dev team. This one is clueless to say the least, stubborn, can’t foresee anything regarding the impact of changes on wvw (while the famous “unimportant forum minority” did, and since first second they talked about Bloodlust), do not listen or answer, and overall do not know their game.
-second: get. rid. of. bloodlust. period.
-third: read trough the suggestions made in last 10 months that would have made wvw 10 times better long time ago if considered. Not going to list them all, thi post is going to be deleted asap cause i’ve named devs anyway.
Will Longview Tower Gate ever work as intended?
If you want balance, go play sPvP/tPvP.
Trolololololololol
Ahah, +1
Also, unfair =/= unbalanced.
Anet has already said they dont care about GvG. if they think adding something that will effectively destroy GvG to benefit WvW they will do it.
Funny thing is that this is everything but “WvW benefit”.
If they really just wanted to get rid of GvG there were a tons of ways to do so without screwing up the whole WvW big time.
Would have suck*ed anyway, but at least the game mode wouldn’t have become utter crap.
The only i save of Bloodlust is the scenery.
Great artists at Anet, as usual: +1.
Such a shame that’s everything good they have….
Hmmmmmm, it seems the obvious thing that was gonna happen happened. Lets collect some data and observe this.
Hmmmmm. Interesting….
I can definitely imagine them that way.
“Mmmh looks like the feedback forum minority we ignored was saing the truth…mmh…not sure, might have to keep an eye on that for a couple of months… mmmh…not sure!”
I’m stopping playing wvw for the time being.
No hate for anybody, aside Anet.
I was already kitten ed off by the margin (qqing about winning too much? Yes.), manly cause it is due to all the unwanted bandwagoning, but at least fights were unaffected, so there was something interesting/fun to do anyway. Not anymore.
This is ridicolous.
Over 100k score difference + Orbs <3
http://imgur.com/sjeVoCEMyself being in SFR, i absolutely hate this!
- No Fun in owning everything due to Buffs.
- No Fun in owning everything because of the zergs difference.
- No Fun in having everything in the morning and no actual capping and battling.
- No Fun at all… I fail to see ANet’s logics. I really do…I’ll guess i have to PvE the crap out of the game and start searching for a Mass PvP oriented game. For me this game crossed that barrier.
+9001.
(i hate quaggans tho.)
And on top of that, when comes to Outmanned Anet stance is “We want to keep them useless so you don’t get blamed for being the guy that makes outmanned go away”.
But giving 150+ at all stats on larger server is totally ok.
Seriously.
Looks like the solution is to build trebs in the keeps and 1 or 2 stay there to treb the ruin. Time to lvl up treb mastery. Looks like they only care about spvp ¬¬.
What have they done for spvp? This patch was for you guys. Sure they failed, but still they give you much more attention.
Would be better for them stop caring about their game, if this is what “attention” results.
We should probably compile a list in this subforum. Not many people go to guru. I tried creating an account but never recieved the confirmation email. :P
I approve this message.
+1
Aren’t you supposed to run a build that fares decently well both in large and small scale fights in WvW? I mean, I can see people in bloody hardcore raiding guilds going full large scale, but isn’t there a lot of middle ground?
You’ll be average in both fields tho.
Some professions have trait spreads that, with a little tuning and weapon/armor/skill switching can let you turn from group build to a roamer one in a moment – it’s true.
But most builds can’t. And you need anyway to be out of combat and safe while switching stuff, if somebody gets you in combat before you’ve finished it’s pointless.
That’s why i fail to see where is the accomplishment in ganking a guy running a group oriented build which is lagging behind his zerg in a 1 vs 1 with a fotm cheesy dueling specific build, tbh – and that’s something i read a lot on this forums, “Ahahah you guys of -server X- are so bad when i pick you out of zergs, you die or run”.
I don’t get it.
If i get caught by a roamer with a roaming specific build while i’m running a Staff support ele or a glamour confusion mesmer or a wells/marks necro there is no contest. Then is either run or accept the ganking.
Anyway rejoice, Orbageddon is upon us.
(edited by AndrewSX.3794)
I find it being much more a issue in WvW rather than PvP.
Groups clashes
Multiple downed on both teams
One of them dies
All the downeds from the opposing team rally.
That’s broken as kitten.
As far as spvp goes, they should just balance (see engi downed vs ele/guard) or, even better, normalize the downed skills across the professions (everybody get the same – 1 normal attack, a stomp “breaker”, a cc and the self healing).
Pshhhhhhhh. Our tanks in GW1 were kittening Assassins.
Rangers FTW.
Wonder, why can’t the buff be disabled at the windmill area?
GvG players will be happy, and 1v1/5v5 etc will be happy.
And Arenanet is happy because it still active outside that area.
The point is that probably (youknowwho confirmed so in the youknowwhich video, but every wvwer at least once had the doubt) Anet do not want duels of GvG to happen.
They want those people to go in spvp and funneling them in their “esport”.
The only detail that they don’t realize is that all those roamers/duelers/GvGers will prefer to quit over going to play spvp.
2k or so (when i checked was around 1,7k) wouldn’t be bad per se.
Then…considering that it’s quite some time that ESL advertise this, that Anet itself linked the twitch stream on various PR channels (FB for example) and even on login page… yes, it’s kinda low.
Ah, and during ESL a GvG happened and, with a post under “ingame events” dead subforum and one on reddit, had 1,3k spectators.
So, meh.
If you really want to, at least get better at trolling, those attempts are quite pathetic.
:p
A little range on Dag1 for Necro.
I’d prefer making it cleave.
I sincerely hope not.
An interesting but very difficult era is coming. Our winter is coming.
Don’t call it out too early!
Aside that matches aren’t even started…. tomorrow the Orbageddon will fall upon us.
And if guilds stop playing/transfer away/disband due to Bloodlust, or to a flood of “pugs” chocking the queques, then SFR it’s done.
(clarifying: it’s just a worst case scenario and every guild on SFR has no plan neither to leave or disband or transfer away. I’m just saying that it could happen.)
My concern with four leagues is simply that there isn’t enough variety at that point. I could very well be wrong, but we are going to try season 1 this way and then we’ll take a look at how it played out.
Variety…
Like the one introduced with the matchmaking.
Now the server blowing out the matchup will change every week!
Seriously.
I like it when pug rangers/mesmers push the grub to Lupicus during Phase 1. I once had a really low DPS pug manage to get Lupicus to 5 grubs this way.
That’s quite an achievement, i must say.
Better fast cast ground targeting:
We split this into 3 different options; so that players can more easily cater how ground targeting works for them.
- Double tap to cast
- Press the button to cast
- Release the button to cast
SO GET YO CAST ON!I would really like an option which is “Ground Target at Center of Current Target”. In other words an option to let me skip picking a place on the ground to drop the skill — instead it would put the skill reticule centered on my current target.
This would make my life so much easier as a grenade engineer.
Not going to happen imo, i mean, if it’s centered on your target, it’s no more a Ground Targeted Spell…
That said, i 100% agree that a rework/QoL change to grenade auto (just that, 2-5 are ok GtAoE) is in order.
Perhaps you didnt recruit anyone, but the bandwagon express certainly did make several stops at SFR, the sudden maximum domination is almost embarassing.
There’s little to say sadly, you can’t stop transfers.
Even if you wish to, even if you didn’t recruit, even if SFR core players hates blob and all that s*it as much as Piken or Deso, even if Alien rages at them to make them run away, being the first non language specific server – and, usually, less populated than Deso due to their massive PvE numbers making them look very high quite frequently – will draw people – and usually of the worst kind, tons of bandwagoners/pve heroes/bads lately.
Add in the mix some free transfers (nearly killed SFR back in the day), leagues, Bloodlust, rewards, some strange RNG putting Viz behind us, fact that most pvers now have so much money that paying a transfer isn’t troublesome…..
Again, we’d like to get rid of some numbers as much as you’d like to do not see all those blobs. We never intended this, SFR built up as strongly primetime guildraids based dominance over everything else.
A shame that getting in first tiers that way attracted so many ppl to turn in something else, willing or not.
All of the (popular) speed clears used at least 1 healer: UW used an ele/mo, fow many way used an aura mo, doa generally uses 2 healers…although not necessarily monks. Just to name a few.
Technically, E/Mo was a Bonder, so more under the “protting” category.
FoW needed a UA for main team “oh kitten” moments BUT only pugs/casual runs used Monks, because safer – iirc record/speed runs incorporated the UA elite res in another char of the main team, and a clean/competent team hardly needed it anyway.
Doa backline was E/mo (bonder) and Monk Seeder. The monk wasn’t exactely a healer – it was manly due to being the only prof able to use effectively Seed of Life pve skill, which paired with the Life Bond E/Mo was…OP as kitten (like, every member of party get healed for x dmg taken by target, which was E/Mo, which was sharing the dmg – 0 but still triggering Seed – taken by tank, which ws getting hit by 30 mobs or so per second.). So, more a gimmick that a real Healer.
I might being forgetting/confusing something, it’s more than 1 year off Gw1 afterall.
But as i said previously, from the Gw1 experience:
To me, healers yes…tanks nope.
+1
Because balancing the whole game with tpvp standards is so good.
/sarcasm
Split skills, that’s the answer, dumb Anet.
Gw1 PvE (HM) didn’t needed tanks, if you were running normal teams in normal content.
Speeclears (especially for DG/elite areas), which is what Bright is referring to, were a totally different beast – if you think that on Gw2 Speedrunning is bad/lame/exploitation don’t step in Gw1, lol – quite unique actually, which would be quite too long to explain here: fact is that the rules of “normal” PvE do not refer to those.
Leaving SC aside (cause they are not “intended” in the balancing of the game, afterall), Gw1 was a bit more “locked” than Gw2 (well, there are very few games less “locked” than Gw2…), but much less than the average trinity MMO (like, uh…WoW and the clones. ok i said it.).
In a party of 8, HM content, after you’ve built up the backline of heal+prot (2 slot usually), the other 6 are pretty much free. There is a healing class/spec, but no tanks or taunt. Add on top of that builds swappable on the fly in outposts, double class system, and a much more free skillbar (8 skills as you like, 1 elite maximum and belonging to the 2 profs you picked up), and there you go.
I wouldn’t mind a similar system to come back. Trinity is bad. I hate it.
But Gw1 “soft” one was the balance between a trinity (healing is the only “locked” role), allowing to have some deeper mechanics, and a free for all approach, which do takes away the issues of grouping but flattens the combat as whole.
Long short story: i don’t play games with Trinity, i deeply hate it. BUT, Gw2 solution “Everybody glass cannon DPS” makes combat and encounter extremely swallow, flat, and overall lacking of depth. Maybe is just matter of better balancing the professions, the istances, the game as whole: but in one year the only somewhat interesting fight for me has been Lupicus, until you start meeleing him flattening it too. Not that good, 1 boss in the whole game.
Changing Teq, Fire Ele, Golem Mark II and Megadestroyer won’t make the supply of rares generated by meta event farming shrink that much to cause a major price fluctuation imo.
The reason you want points in valor imho has nothing to do with altruistic healing although it’s a nice trickle heal sometimes, it’s all about the crit damage to go with RH strength while giving you toughness so you don’t become a total liability when you have a bad dodging day.
On paper yes, if you had to choose between Valor (Toughness + Crit Dmg) and Valor (Vitality + Healin Power) the former would be better, stat wise.
The issue are traits.
Valor traits are miles better than Honor ones, which is usually (trait wise) either “AH” or “Meditations” perk. Both of them offers much less than Valor, which pack: Shout CD, Pure of Voice and party wide dmg boost (Empowering Might), plus tons of other cool traits that can come in handy on certain builds and situations, like Two handed mastery and Writ of Persistence.
And that’s only about Major traits.
Minor…
Honor: Aegis at 50% hp, Aegis on Rally, Might on Block.
Valor: perma vigor, heal on dodge, dmg boost (10% iirc) with endurance not full.
That’s kind a 3 – 0 for Valor.
That’s why personally, if i have to choose between the two (which is the case in a build packing RHS), i’d always go for Valor.
The following fact cannot be un-learned.
Humans are the Blood Elves of GW2.
/hairflip
Gimmie a race change NOW.
0/10
Bad troll, didn’t even bother to change the sig.
There is a core issue in Warriors buffs.
That it will be overnerfed again when the stacking of all this buffs (especially latest ones) will make the masses cry at him, just like betas, like Mesmers for first 10 months, like Necros in latest 2.
Warrior needed some serious help? Sure.
But i think they’re getting very very close to crossing the line of “Overbuffing”, if not already in certain builds.
There isn’t a middle state between UP and OP for Anet?
