wellkitten…… i have 2 80’s which of the tier 1 server has the best pve population ?
Why don’t you guest there and find out?
Transfer is only needed for WvW.
If you delete your characters, you can tranfer for free.
Otherwise, farm gold until you can transfer.
Learn from Terra – add this skin to GW2 http://i.imgur.com/HdZnP.jpg – and see the sales skyrocket.
No, that armor is ridiculous.
And they would still sell tons of it. It is ridiculous, but when has that mattered?
All that character pictured needs is a pink Quaggan pack, some wings, SAB weapons, and some gloves and pauldrons that are on fire to make the redonk complete.
It has mattered in GW2, and the armor we have looks practical.
Tera armor is something even Lady Gaga would be ashamed to put on.

This is how Orr karma zergs were running shortly after launch. Looks like Queensdale is the new Orr. Same problems, too.
Nerf incoming
Terrible idea. If anyone touches any of my characters in any way, I quit…
Last time I counted, the profit was about four-five silver per box, plus/minus rng. Not much for the 4k karma spent.
edit: why is a number for “four-five” censored?
Definitely need more uses for karma. How about paying for wp costs with karma!!!
At 4000 karma a pop.
I didn’t like it, and would never tell anyone else about this game either, I think they focus way to much on the Living Story in this game and it will ruin it, WvW is where it is and they ignore it and in the end it will bite them on the kitten …
Repetitive zerg-flip-fest as opposed to new, innovative and fresh gameplay?
I’ll take Living Story, thank you very much.
ONE SMALL PATCH for a few code lines Arenanet!
Right.
I guess I don’t understand why people continue to play in spite or come back and post here to try to convince people that the game is bad.
Personal opinions are valid but personal. There is a lot I would like to see different in this game, but I don’t log in every day in disgust or negativity.
That might mean you need to change your outlook on things or maybe do something different.
How dare we criticize a game’s flaws
Hardly anyone is criticizing the game’s real flaws. Instead, most of the complaints are focused on non-issues.
If you start an event that many people want to do, simply announce that in map chat.
You don’t owe the zerg anything however, so just ignore the idiots. Last thing you should concern yourself is doing events on somebody else’s schedule.
In the best case, you can wait until more people arrive. Beyond that, don’t feel bad about “disrupting” zerg trains.
…I want to join this. I want that giant tower shield. Where can I sign up ? :S
In the Guild Missions section of this forum.
I’m not surprised we didn’t hit 1 million. We were already at 900k+ at the start of the month, and I imagine most of the fans of GW2 had already liked it in the first place. ANet was trying to dip into a pool that was already exhausted. Ah well.
No, they were trying to get the fans to advertise the game and ask all their friends to like it on facebook.
Get used to these f2p shenanigans.
Try green armor or weapons around level 20-40.
You can buy siege weapons with badges, and list them on TP. Check what is profitable right now. You might need to convert them to superior versions first, which will additionally cost skill points.
You need to represent the guild in order to participate in a guild mission. Otherwise you just get karma and exp rewards of a regular event.
The real lesson from this seems to be that GW2 players do not give a kitten about FB and ANet should be spending less efforts in that direction.
Also possibly Twitter.
I guess the ultimate lesson is that we buy your game to play your game not to be your friend.
The real lesson has probably something to do with that Nexon woman.
There’s a trend in f2p games to encourage facebook/twitter likes, through in-game bribes of all kinds. I suppose likes look good in a board meeting presentation or something.
How long does a ‘guest’ last for? Can I guest another server until I log off or is it two instanced dungeons?
The two guest servers you choose becme locked until the daily server reset, at which point you can choose the same or a new pair of servers. You can visit your locked servers as many times as you like.
Another thing to be aware of is multi-guilding. You can join up to 4 guilds at the same time, and switch between representing any of them. Depending on your preferences, you might want to ask if a guild allows you to do that, because some of them want you to represent them always. That tends to cause a lot of drama.
(edited by AntiGw.9367)
You can see each server’s WvW ranking, which should give you an idea of their population. Servers at the top of the list tend to have higher overall population.
Depending on your preferred playstyle, you might want to avoid the highest or lowest servers. High tier WvW gets very hectic and zergy, while low-pop WvW involves more strategy.
As for PvE, it doesn’t really matter what server you are on, because you can guest on other servers whenever you like (that is on two servers each day).
Skyrim dragon fights for me consisted of run in, wack it a few times, run out/circle strafe forever when I see it about to attack…or just shoot it from ranged and kite when it is on the ground.
I have never been impressed with Elder Scrolls game combat, very rudimentary.
The Elder Scrolls are more about roleplay and modding, not combat.
If you haven’t played Morrowind, you might as well skip the rest anyway.
That would be convenient.
Elementalist is an overpowered WvW and PvE class. Meaning real WvW, not the cheesy perma-stealth thief variety. Eles have access to an amazing array of skills too, it’s definitely a fun class to play in GW2.
As for tips, always gather herb nodes (chance to drop expensive dyes), don’t hesitate to spend money or karma on upgrades every 5-10 levels or so. Always use food items, having two of them at once gives you a 20% experience bonus (see wiki or my sig).
They are not actually removing stuff every two weeks The stuff stays there for much longer.
And if you can’t log in once every month for a couple hours to experience that stuff, you are hardly a demographic that’s worth designing content for.
Don’t worry about saving karma. First of all, it’s not that hard to get. and second, the amounts of it you can spend while leveling is minimal. You don’t gain much by hoarding it.
Just save the karma jugs you get from dailies unless you actually need to buy something. You can later use karma boosts to get more karma when you open them.
Economy is a runaway inflation? are we playing the same game? If there is one thing the economy doesnt have is inflation. Prices have been stable since like launch. Care to give some examples of items that have runaway inflation cause I honestly dont know where you get the idea of inflation in guild wars 2.
There is inflation, although not runaway one.
It’s actually pretty good as compared to inflations in other games or real life. Necessary items are dirt cheap and going cheaper every day, luxury items are extremely expensive and going up.
which items? seriously I dont know of anything… here are some of the most expensive items in the game:
I’m thinking of the economy since launch.
So green and most yellow items have gone down. Greens used to be worth 6-8s, now about 1-2s, barely above vendor value. Crafting mats also.
Unidentified dyes went up. They used to be about 5-6s, now around 20s. Legendaries have gone way up, from around 100-200g a few months after launch.

New idle animation coming?
I want to pet my wolf like Eir.
You can pet Eir? :o
I guess I don’t understand why people continue to play in spite or come back and post here to try to convince people that the game is bad.
Because you’re not listening…. It didn’t start off bad.
Are you suggesting that it somehow ended up bad?
Because the game we have right now is a thousand times better than what we had at launch.
I am using the words of the Dissatisfied in order to communicate back to them. Good and bad are subjective, so it is pointless to argue that something is either good or bad.
For me it is good, for them it is bad.
edit: oh I didn’t read clearly, that was directed at ilr. Oh well I leave my post cause I’m too lazy to change it.
While good and bad is subjective, it would take a special kind of genius to argue that it actually got worse after all the improvements. If it wasn’t bad at launch, it certainly isn’t bad now. At worst it’s on the same level, but even that would stretch the truth quite a bit.

“Chocolate ice cream is a disgrace to all ice cream and people should stop eating it because it is bad”
It’s true.
Chocolate is chocolate, and ice cream is ice cream. Why pollute one with the other? They add nothing to each other.
I made three of them, working on two more.
It’s a nice optional bonus that’s actually doing something useful, unlike legendaries.
if you equip them on none infused ascended stuff and then anet let us infuse earrings/amulets you’ll lose them and all dat money went to toilet, mystic toilet
I’ll get moar money till then.

Not sure how it would damage the economy when I already don’t pay for WPs to get to LA or any other major city. o.O
Besides, you severely over estimate the importance of city WPs as a gold sink source to the economy.
The convenience factor for the player not having to do multiple loads is a plus. The benefit of less server load should be reason enough.
Again, you get the convenience factor by teleporting directly to LA, instead of abusing a feature that has an entirely different purpose.
Gotcha. Your argument is that we are exploiters for using the mists to travel to LA.
My argument is that you are demanding free stuff because you are already going around the game mechanics…
Yes, you are exploiters.

The damage to the economy will probably outweigh any server load issues.
Just pay the wp cost like you are supposed to.
Your argument is wrong, in that we already don’t pay the wp cost. Claiming not paying it would break the economy means saying the economy is already broken. Ergo, it’s worthless.
By now, it’s only a matter of reducing server load and giving us one less loading screen. Not to mention have less people in the WvW maps who don’t want to do any WvWing.
SOME of the players are not paying it. The rest are paying like they are supposed to (including myself), and the gold is sunk like it’s supposed to.
It’s not just a matter of reducing server load.
Allowing all city WPs to become free will benefit all. It will help alleviate a little server load from people using the mists to travel to cities.
The damage to the economy will probably outweigh any server load issues.

Then, they should sell free wps as an item which you can buy for 100g. I would pay 100g or more if I know I can travel a place without pay nevermore.
My computer needs 30s to load, so when I go to pvp and after to lion arch it needs one minut to load and I don´t like that.
Some people could say that it is better pay 4 silver always than 100g one time, but if you play a lot in one year you could have spent more than that.
Post it in the Waypoint cost eliminator topic.

There are some books you can read in Durmand Priory.
• Having to pay the fee to Lion’s Arch when using the makitten illy when we can just teleport there for free.
You can’t teleport there for free. When you use the Mists and WvW to do that, you are actually abusing the Mists and WvW features. They are placed there for convenience of Mists and WvW players, not to give you free teleports.
While there’s nothing wrong about doing that, it’s not an excuse to demand even more stuff you are not entitled to.
The portal fees are working as intended and should not be changed.
Hmmm… Your story sounds similar to some of the complaints I see here about drops from RNG crates.
It’s actually an almost exact copy of a sarcastic post I made on that topic, but it was deleted by a mod.
Just like this thread in 3… 2… 1…
Hmm… burning kittens… not a bad idea!
How many rares can you usually get in an hour from farming CoF?
About 5 from just tokens?
MF is a bad idea in almost every game that comes out with the stat though. It removes the group dynamic in favor of players being selfish.
It doesn’t remove anything in favor of anything. That’s how some players perceive it, which is a problem with the players, not with MF.
MF was a bad idea in the first place, that went against lo of what devs tried to achieve. It’s a wonder it took them that long to decide to remove it.
It took them so long because it was not a bad idea and it did not go against anything they tried to achieve. A lot of people like to use MF, which is why it’s in the game.
I doubt the couple of silvers they manage to siphon that way has a big impact on Tyria’s economy. It can have one on an individual player’s purse however.
At level 80, waypointing can cost around 2,80s. Now imagine 2.000.000 players using one waypoint. That’s 56.000 gold being removed instantly by one use of waypoint. Now imagine it done during a course of several hours.
The problem is the opposite – there is so much gold being generated that it’s still not enough (maybe the next patch will improve that). But it makes a huge difference.
- Moveable/Adjustable UI – I realize this is a big one but not having the ability to allow a player to move and individually scale UI elements (or hide necessary ones) is a serious design flaw, in my opinion. It is 2013 not 2003.
It’s not a design flaw, it’s intentional. The reasoning behind it is they probably want to have control over our interface. Same reasons they keep slapping all interactions on the F button.
The devs said there are difficulties like making weapons and skills work with it, so it won’t be implemented.
Hell yes!
