So, basically every player that buys the game after this is going to have pay a thousand gems just to have access to the maps and be cut off from a dozen mastery points. And unlike in Central Tyria, these masteries do significantly affect gameplay.
And I won’t have to excuse to say “Well, it’s just the story! Just watch it on Youtube, and the rewards aren’t that great anyways”.
And this is going to keep increasing…..
So pray tell, do people that don’t unlock the story have access to the “Ancient Magics” masteries? Because if they can’t fill those out, and it is quite hard to do so using only HoT map masteries, then they’d be stuck with useless XP.
This isn’t a new game. I don’t think finding more ways of separating the population is going to help things, considering it’s already separated by expansion.

Now to be fair, this is specifically a WvW problem because it updates constantly
Yeah, it does warrant bringing it up in the QoL section instead of under some whiny-ranty anti-content topic title. :P
But I’ve got no dog in that race, so I figure someone else will.
Sure, it’s a matter of reward track design as opposed to something bad about SAB. I guess it hurts more because the track will disappear soon.
But yea, the problem’s annoyed me enough to get me a gift of battle or two I didn’t want. Should be able to sell those things.
I just select a new one after the huge popup screen says it’s completed and offers the final reward box.
But that’s sensible! Where’s the rage? The angst? The will to remove what others love?
Really though, it doesn’t take that much extra attention to swap to a new track. :\
Because sometimes there is overflow. It is already too late. And in WvW, you can’t always stare at the reward track.
This. When I first found this out and grumbled in /g several of our more dedicated PvP players mentioned they had, eg, collected half a dozen completions of some dungeon reward track because of overflow over the course of playing…
That doesn’t negate my statement that actually paying attention to what track they’re on is really easy. >.>
I know, but that doesn’t cover the whole picture. I’m saying even if you were to micromanage the reward track constantly, as long as you have more points than needed to complete the track on its end, you will “lose” some points onto that garbage track. You get irregular numbers if you use a booster or your participation isn’t 100%. So you can either continue the track or switch again (And your points fall into limbo) and hope it doesn’t happen again.
Now to be fair, this is specifically a WvW problem because it updates constantly, and it also keeps going regardless if you open chests or not.

For laptops, it’s more important to get a “HQ” processor as opposed to U ones that are meant for power saving.. (So, I5-7300 HQ over i5-7200u). Of course, that naturally means they use more power. Granted only there’s only i5 or i7 that would be that.
And yes, desktops are preferred but sometimes that is not always possible. Here’s a cheap desktop for only $400 that even has wifi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O1eCSLm9lo (well, you’d have to buy a monitor). It is not the best but it’ll give much better performance. One could also buy and install a $100 video card into it and it’ll handle a lot of games including this one very well as shown in this follow up video on the same computer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O1eCSLm9lo (I would suggest the cheaper GTX 1050 over the ti version, but it’s basically the same.

2015
- WvW maps removed from map completions, less reason for new players to try WvW.
- Stability changed, greatly changed how WvW is played. For a short time, pirate meta completely tookover.
- Golem event
- AC now has line of sight
- Anti-condi food nerfed
- HOT launched
- Desert map added, initially replaced the Alpine.
- Shield generator added
- WvW tactivator added
- WvW claim buff revamped along with guild hall
- WvW gear (from vendor) is now salvageable
- EOTM rewards nerfed
- Waypoints no longer open during contested (aka contested is now seamless)
- T3 gate added
- Squad UI
- Adjusted WP position for desert map
- Proofs of heroics for HOT stuffs
Those were some dark times.
5886 hours over 1690 days.
And still haven’t accomplished much. That’s what I get for leaving the game in the background.
Actually, I don’t think people got the point of Illconceived Was Na.9781’s post. It was more about how people went off on off-topic rants almost to the point where it just seems like excess baggage to be let off on sight of a red name.
Anyhow, I’d like a sticky about what constitutes a match up thread.
I believe such a post existed in the past but it’s gone and thus people don’t know if it’s allowed or not. Don’t forget the search function is broken.
It should be obvious, however I have seen people simply posting a video that happened to contain gameplay for the current week that get closed for being a matchup thread….

I don’t really understand Anet creating these gated zones. It’s strange to keep a lot of your game population away from new content unless they approach it using the exact steps you dictate (completing the story).
Yea really. Imagine if Dry Top or Silverwastes were gated like this.
But honestly, I don’t think making story playing mandatory is a good idea either. Furthermore, there are also HoT trinkets stats that they’d be cut off from, besides raids.
That doesn’t sound good.
If it were just network lag your fps wouldn’t tank like that.
Check your temperature with gw2 running. And scan for malware/repair the client.
Yep, click is legal but double click isn’t
While I don’t think the phrases themselves express “cowardice”, I really believe they don’t reflect at all what those skills are used for. People rarely use them to flee their enemies, they use them mostly to advance in mass towards some objective.
I actually do use it to retreat. Guardians don’t have any other movement boosts and giving it to allies helps against angry pursuing mobs or players
That is why I think you should be able to covert one to the other somehow.
I just select a new one after the huge popup screen says it’s completed and offers the final reward box.

Doesn’t hurt to ask.
I wish you could buy the new legendaries. As it stands I have no compunction to go through tyria masteries, precursor, mystic clover stuff.
And conversely those that dislike WvW are in the same boat I assume. Note I mean dislike. There are those that main pve that are just apathetic to wvw and thus are willing to deal with it. They certainly hold my respect for that. However, I think what is missing grom this discussion is that pvers are not a single group of people.
As a WvW main I have always campaigned againt forcing people to play it. It is nit a good way of going about things and is counter-intuitive.

An SSD greatly improves loading times, but it will not improve FPS/in-game performance. The biggest advantage is that Windows can start up really fast, but you’d have to install Windows on that drive. It really depends if you are unhappy with current loading times.
Ram is unlikely to help either, since it doesn’t use that much memory.
The only real thing you can do to improve performance is to close unneeded background programs and also scan for viruses and malware that would slow your computer down. Gw2 is held back by processor power, and unfortunately your laptop’s processor isn’t really meant for heavy gaming. I know, since I have bought a laptop for a relative with the older version of the same processor and it struggles to Gw2.

That reminds of so many games that don’t really explain what things do. It’s also why I liked the Mega Man series, because of stuff like this: https://youtu.be/akITlx_fhLc?t=843 Though honestly, some of it was really vague.
Or the Starcraft 2 campaigns: https://youtu.be/d5ahOFnLB2s?t=155 You got a little demonstration of whatever the heck it was you were going to pick.
Now obviously it’s not going to work in a game like this, but it does pay to let players know what’s going on.
Oh, so is it one of those “self-punishment” things where you just feel so overwhelmed by the guilt that you might as well see it all crumble under your own hands?
Guilt doesn’t seem to be one of his things. He seems to have kitten syndrome, where his master plan is crumbling around him, but his ego is too large for him to realize his defeat, and instead he pursues ever more desperate and insane plans in a vain attempt to ward off the inevitable.
He does, no doubt by the time we fight him, and certainly before when he “convinced” that official to fight to the death. But perhaps at some point his family represented some fragment of his humanity since he does rant about her daughter and being dead to her because of betrayal, and I think that went along with any semblance of morality.
Then again, it’s standard for sociopaths to blame their wrongdoings on other people betraying them though. Hard to say, it’s all crushed underneath his ego, lol.
That doesn’t help, it insists on picking the SAB track even if I finished it.
And yea, that’s not an SAB problem but a reward track problem. I think we should be able to queue our reward tracks. I mean it was so bad at one point I accidentally have several GoB just because it kept overflowing from the end of a previous track bit by bit. >.>
I agree that the Gift of Battle is in a bad spot. I think the Gift of Exploration should be able to replace it.
You may want to give Edge of the Mists a shot. It’s generally more casual and most people are focused on farming reward tracks/karma and not really about fighting as much.
I’d also like to repost one of my suggestions for how to deal with WvW for those that don’t like it.
Here’s what I think is the perfect solution: Nomad/cleric druid (If you can get full nomads, that’d be ideal):
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJAWRjUqQLL2wCmsAXLWyEM4ZaONo+UDWATsmkVA4AUy0OD-TVSDAB+q+jEHCge1Fklyvc2fg7HAwxXAAAOCAGqEUMALB-w
Staff/GS. You can kill NPCs with your pet (set to passive and select targets directly), and can disengage against other players easily. And you can always tell your pet to stop attacking people too. Also turn off autoattack.
You will be relying on daily rewards mostly— log off if you have no more dailies to do. Aim for: Daily Sentry, Monuments, Veteran Creature Slayer, Defender. Guard Killer, Dolyak. Camp if you want, though note it’ll take longer.
Kill guards and take camps to boost your participation. If you manage to get the participation up a bit, you can afford to hang around.
This will minimize the time you spend in WvW and also avoid combat at all costs. With 3 movement skills, swiftness by spamming the heal skill, and stealth you can run away from mostly anything. You won’t be able to kill people, and people won’t be able to kill you.
Obviously this would have to change depending on class. Druid is still the best I think. Also adjusted to reflect current leather prices cough: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJAWRjUqQLL2wCmsAXLWyEM4ZaONo2ksCAHgnawCYiVizTD-TlSDABHfBA218DOq/w9DAQiDBQv6CA4IAAsyPDVCO/+DiBYJ-w
(Note that “twister in a jar” exotic accessory has nomad stats. If you can’t get nomad, anything with vitality will suffice). You can get nomad’s jewelery if youi go to the LS3 zones but since not everyone can do that, I’m just going to leave that as a suggestion) I’d also recommend the peppermint oil utility for the extra karma boost and stats. And as in the original post, melandru runes are fine if you don’t want to get durability. Although WvW is a pretty good way of getting durability runes.
(edited by ArchonWing.9480)
This is nowhere on the level of raids or dungeons, though. Personally, I thought the end of the chapter where you have to train Aurene was actually frustrating.
Or something like Hidden Arcana, where you are introduced to multiple new mechanics at once and have to utilize all of them in a risky manner where conventional damage is muted. I’m glad they never did that again.
The last 2 chapters have had fights that are very easy compared to the ones immediately before. Granted, this one is much harder than the one in a Crack in the Ice. If people managed to get to this far, then I’m rather confused. I mean really, and I have trouble killing the individual jade armors!
Did you mean the end of S3E2, where you had to protect Aurene? Or the start of S3E3, where you go through Tarir and do various trials?
How is Hidden Arcana’s last instance different from how the end of S3E1 worked, where you are taught various mechanics tied to Counter Magic? I know a lot of people who have trouble with Justiciar Adrienne, and she’s not even the final battle of the instance. Is it really that different?
Because there were several, like steal aspects, stand in the circles, and stuff I can’t even remember. I recall it being rather unforgiving as well. And I don’t really recall those mechanics being used again elsewhere. They were both quite difficult. I even had trouble with the you + aurene fights that required a combo. But because that fight was relatively forgiving, and you can’t finish the instance without learning the mechanic, the game effectively makes you learn it before you can advance.
Counter Magic comes down to pressing the button at the right time, it’s pretty intuitive, and you don’t really need to understand it. By the time you get to the end of episode 1 of season 3, I think the answer is pretty obvious.
By episode 4, there is really no excuse to be like “wut” when the button comes up. I mean, I guess if you played them out of order there would be difficulty but the story makes you do events in Lake Doric where this issue will come across. So there really is no surprises.
I mean, when you enter Lake Doric, there’s literally a champion at the front door where you can toss bloodstone shards at it to weaken it. Coincidentally Caduceus has a similar mechanic. And this was a thing in Bloodstone Fen too. So, indeed, I have a really hard time criticizing the mechanics of this boss. Heck, I found the riddles to be more of a pain.
So that’s where I have trouble understanding the situation. He doesn’t have that anything that novel, nor are there really any instant death moves that you must avoid. I really can’t chalk it up to anything but player error if it doesn’t go right.
Nowhere did I say it was at the level of raids. However, I do participate in Dungeons (just did some Saturday) and I disagree that the end-bosses of the Stories aren’t similar to some Dungeon bosses. Of course Dungeons are meant to be 5-man content, but in terms of “the dance”, I see them as very similar.
Personally, I thought the end of the chapter where you have to train Aurene was actually frustrating.
Or something like Hidden Arcana, where you are introduced to multiple new mechanics at once and have to utilize all of them in a risky manner where conventional damage is muted. I’m glad they never did that again.

You can get this far by skipping the end fight of the previous episode and starting the new episode. That is what I have had to do for the vast majority of story episodes so far because of the end boss difficulty.
When I meant level, I meant in terms of learning curve and complexity. And the amount of dungeons I’ve done this year: 0. The amount of fractals: 0, the amount of raids: 1
I simply don’t like those things because they often have mechanics specific to the instance of which you have to learn on the fly. So I thought this stuff here is pretty tame by any comparison.
And you could definitely skip parts of the story, the rewards aren’t that great. I still think it’d be better just to take some time to deal with it; it may make later chapters easier to do.

Thanks for sharing. Now how is that relevant to the text you quoted; or are you going to entertain us with more trivia? Since you are so adept at administering the truth, you might tell us how that makes Agony Resist relevant outside of fractals.
So are you implying that since ascended armor can be used across multiple characters, then that justifies its increased cost? Or are you saying that since you don’t need to craft ascended armor for all your characters and the fact that ascended armor doesn’t break, then not as many materials are needed?
In that case, I think it should be even more expensive to make ascended armor. Is that the conclusion you wanted?
If I were you, I would ignore this and suggest a need that you need to create a ascended set per character. Otherwise, you’d gg your own argument. But I can only help you so much.

Should really apply it to “player instrument sounds”.
It looks kinda cool though….. I sorta want it now.
That is actually a really good idea, although you might not hear your own “normal” gliders then. So maybe a checkbox “mute other gliders” ?
Doesn’t have to be that specific. There could be a sound control for “other players” where non-essential sounds could be controlled.
As for sounds coming from yourself, I wonder if “mute player chatter” could be expanded on.
Yep, he said “we’ll be a family again.”
Of course, he also claimed that she was an imposter so the guy has more than a few ingots loose.
That bloodstone sure causes psychological damage.
I never can understand why people bother with answers like “it was easy for me”. So what? If I say that I can’t sing, why would someone answer “singing is easy for me”? Some people are inherently better at things than others. The fact that you don’t find something difficult doesn’t mean anything to people who do find it difficult.
tl;dr the quality of the responses often depends on the quality of the query.
No, the quality of the response depends on the responder. And the OP is not a query so no response is even “necessary”. As it is, there are plenty of people who happen to agree with the OP. And most of those people aren’t asking for advice, they are expressing their opinion.
I hope you realize that really limits the scope of the discussion. If we just want to merely talk about “it was hard” [and possibly why] then the only other response will be “It isn’t” [and possibly why]. So that’s why people say stuff like that. What else is there to talk about?
Many of us who agree with the OP have played GW2 straight through to this story (no level-ups). We have at least a fair approximation of how to play at this point. This isn’t a Dungeon or Raid where one would expect to have to “learn the dance”. This is the main storyline of the game in general PvE. That is my issue with pretty much ALL of the end-boss fights of the Stories.
This is nowhere on the level of raids or dungeons, though. Personally, I thought the end of the chapter where you have to train Aurene was actually frustrating.

lol pls. The problem with viper isn’t the armor part as it is with getting the recipes as well as the difficulty of finding trinkets.
So why are we working on the armor when we could work on the weapons and possibly trinkets first? I mean it’s up to you if you want to focus on 58 power. 61 condition damage and 13% duration. (well, maybe 23% if you want to be uber l33t and go for the geomancer or whatever they’re into these days)

Yes. I report people for selling gold every day. ;;
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Box_of_WvW_Supplies
This is a pretty good item. It drops WvW relevant food, siege, gives WxP, and even gives really cool stuff like metabolic primers sometimes. I have gotten 7 metabolic primers that I would have not gotten any other way. As intended these items are supplies that could help you WvW. I like getting this from my Ley-Line converter for cheap, and the wxp is great for doing guild missions.
But where do you get this thing? Not WvW. Well, you could use the karmic converter, but that’s from an expensive achievement so I don’t count it. HoT Currency (Requires PvE), and Guild Commendations (Maybe WvW, but insanely overpriced).
So why not sell them for badges or Proofs for a discount, or put them in a reward track? These things would be great. Kinda makes sense that WvW should be the best place to get them.
Thanks for the heads up.
Yea. Maybe the player could select which finishers were active, or which ones were inactive. As is, I don’t even bother and have left it on the Halloween finisher when I failed to get that achievement.
Should really apply it to “player instrument sounds”.
It looks kinda cool though….. I sorta want it now.
After redoing every heart on the map, I learned the missing one was Saidra’s haven, apparently I just never came across doing it, and quickly realized why. It’s so boring.
I never really missed Hearts, I gotta say. Also map compleition rewards weren’t too hot either.
Map completion rewards on the new maps are the same as map completion rewards on any other level 80 map, FWIW.
Map completion rewards themselves I guess are really lackluster these days, probably because they have remained the same. But I do recall most maps giving you around 40 of a specific crafting material; I guess the equivalent here is jade shards? And random exotics also weren’t what they used to be.
It probably didn’t help I got a transmutation charge. Those things weren’t what they used to be.
Yea, they ask you questions and then it starts spinning.
It reminded me of those old amusement park rides; I mean it was a nice effect.
Yea, leaving out valuable information that the game gives free handouts daily (which help those with less gold more than those with more gold, stuff like that.) Or maybe that the more valuable components (weapons) are also better to craft. And there’s food, but of course nobody uses that.
This is strongly related to a popular sentiment that one needs to buy gems to get gold in this game.
I mean, that being said, I really doubt even if prices were better, it would not make the crafting in Gw2 good There’s still the inevitable problem where people realize the price of crafting it yourself vs buying it is around the same…..

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ArchonWing.9480
But there were many small guilds that did fine before HoT and now they have a huge cost to get things that were previously available to them.
I mean it’s gotten better, but practically all mechanics favor more numbers.
" I know friends irl that refuse to try GW2 because of how kittened up leather is."
How in the world would people who haven’t even tried gw2 know the ins and outs of level 80 crafting? The only thing I can think of is if you talk their ears off about it when they ask a question about the game. If that’s it, maybe point them to level 80 temple armor or cheap TP exotics for their first armor. That may be all they need. Not everyone carries around multiple sets of armor.
This nonsense has been repeatedly debunked by me in this thread and ignored, probably because it is inconvenient.
It probably happens because they have friends giving them well-intentioned, but ultimately terrible advice.
Just to refresh a few things:
Login rewards give 55 laurels and 20 mystic coins every month. Dailies give 2 gold a day. So let’s assume one spends their laurels on heavy crafting bags for (hey, let’s lowball it) for 25g a month and they sell their mystic coins for 20g.) That’s 45g in one month for simply having a pulse.
But we’re talking about “new players”, and every time I’ve actually asked anyone why new players need leather, they fail on the specifics. Instead I’m getting ridiculous arguments about new players needing ascended. Which is true for basically 1 endgame area of the game. Maybe 2.
When I was gearing my 4th to 6th toons— they were the last of mines that I traditionally leveled— I simply salvaged everything that dropped. That was enough for the characters to gear themselves. This was the time where mid-level leather/cloth went up in price thanks to ascended gear. With every equipment drop salvaging mats worth a few silver a piece, it was quite profitable given the effort.
See, while exotic armors was less expensive in the past, the ability to earn gold has greatly increased for players just starting out thanks to dailies and log in rewards. Back when I started out, armor might have been 2-3 gold a piece (wait it still is), but it was a lot longer to get 2-3 gold. Heck, 30 gold would get you a bunch of gems already.
But wait…. there’s also a lot of exotic armor that’s gotten cheaper. At 70s they’re not even that much more expensive than rares. Sure, they’re not good stats, but they’re still level 80 exotics. You can get a set of medium exotic rampager armor for 1.5g a piece, less so if light/heavy.
But you want to be meta. Okay. You can get level 78 exotic berserker armor for less than 80s a piece. Level 80 Zhed’s Gloves has 133 defense, 45 power, 32 precision, 32 ferocity. The level 78 berserker’s gloves has 129 defense, 43 power, 31 precision, 31 ferocity. Yea, it’s not as good, but for a new player that enters 80 zones, I really doubt that’s going to make a difference.
Finally, armor is not as important as the weapon and trinkets. This doesn’t mean one shouldn’t wear armor, but it’s not as big as a deal, if say you use rare armor for light pve. This is also why ascended armor is of low priority as well.
Anyone that brings new players into this discussion literally doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
A post made by a poster actually relatively new to the game
But full lvl80 exotic gear is not a necessity at all, and that is the point. I have been playing GW2 for 8 months now and leveled my crafting disciplines from the beginning. At no point I had issues with leather prices as a new/leveling player.
I played Orr in greens/rares and maybe a lvl72 or 78 exotic here and there and started out in HoT maps in mixed and matched lvl80 rares and exotics. It works. Crafting or buying a full set of exotics was my first “long-term” goal as a new player. So I did not see a problem with it being more difficult to get.
In the end it took me 4-6 weeks after reaching lvl80 to craft my first set (light vipers armor and two vipers weapons), without grinding or farming of any kind. Just by playing the game and using the TP.
I agree with those who say that older players are more bothered by the high prices than newer players. Now that I am accustomed to full exotics and even ascended, I get more impatient to gear alts. It is purely psychological in my case.^^
Some more actual facts: Full ascended vs Ascended weapons/trinkets + Exotic armor is a 2% difference.

Oh yea, I’d actually support leather farms and lowering prices and helping new players. However, I’m not going to do it on this flawed premise.

I never can understand why people bother with answers like “it was easy for me”. So what? If I say that I can’t sing, why would someone answer “singing is easy for me”? Some people are inherently better at things than others. The fact that you don’t find something difficult doesn’t mean anything to people who do find it difficult.
Well, you don’t go around talking about how you can’t sing to people and how singing is the worst thing ever, do you?
Now, if you went to people and said. “Geez, I really hate singing because I’m really bad at it. Could you help me be not bad at it?” I think if someone said “singing is easy”, then they’d be quite the kitten.
I mean is the point of the topic to seek help, or to rant? There’s nothing wrong with doing either or both, but one of these goals generally leads to more productive things.
So yea, if someone is having trouble, they can give details like what class are they using, what part of the fight are they dying on, and what is killing them. Or methods tried. I would think that exhausting these things first would be more sensible then dragging out the rant hammer, but each to their own. And not to mention there’s already some useful information already here.
tl;dr the quality of the responses often depends on the quality of the query.

Went after Teq religiously for a year and he granted me 3 hoards and the occasional ascended weapon. Nice guy.
Of course, I’ve never seen a precursor or anything of value besides an ascended weapon drop before though….
I mean really though. These things are so rare that you can’t expect people to not tell other people. If they can’t link it, they’ll just type it out in chat. What next? Ban talking about ascended chests in chat?
Anyhow, it’s really just a skin. There’s no need to let it dominate your life.

… but for some other things (eg: “bad guild name”, “bad pet name”), it would be good to have a clearer bucket to throw things into.
I should point out that there is no way for players to report guild or pet names that go against the TOS through the reporting system. (I’m not scouring the forums for the red post that says it, but…) The system does not pull guild/pet names when reporting for a bad name.
The best we can do is screenshot and report by emailing support.
Very true.
Though to their credit, they are very aggressive at dealing with offensive names.
Honestly, it’s nigh on impossible to account for all the things that might cause an issue for a tiny subset of the community. Everyone uses different hardware, different graphics settings, and each of us has different tolerances.
Where would you recommend that ANet draw the line?
I’m not a medical expert, so I can’t actually make said decision. All I can say that is I think it could have caused trouble for other people since I noted it stood out. It wasn’t “normal” so to speak as per the game. The only other cases I remember being disoriented is before I learned to set free camera, some adventures, and the occasional JP where the camera goes crazy.
There’s no need to draw any lines pr cripple the game anyways, as these things are already in place. For example, if you turn off postprocessing you can turn off drunk effects.
Of course, the only metric we could get is by people complaining. After it happens. But I guess it could form some kind of pattern. All I am advising is some caution on the matter.
Oh, I guess the Logan bashing was more of hyperbole; I wasn’t being completely serious. I mean obviously Minister Kitten is the reason why bad stuff happened and yes I understand why from a storyline view that the man is clearly even more sociopathic than at first glance.
As for personal character deaths, well, it does just say you “got defeated” with more practical reasons that your defeats aren’t acutally canon to the story as it’d vary from person to person.
And yes, I’m left wondering why I’m on a character with several available projectile reflects and even a contraption dedicated to res’ing, but alas that’s impossible to account for. I think I was more disappointed in the execution.
I gotta say though, being an NPC must suck, with the lack of plot armor and all.
EDIT: Bad spellcheck

Auric Basin music the best.
I finished the last part of this season and thought it was pretty good overall. A bit rushed on the details, but I liked how much of an egomaniac our Minister was. Canach’s banter about his bed and then noting the mirror on the ceiling was a nice touch too.
Although, I’m not too fond of the way Demmi was killed though. I mean, Caduceus, takes out some gun and shoots a dinky little bullet at her. I mean, it looks like one my rifle autoattacks. And then she gets fatally wounded. Okay, so guns kill people. Fine. But we just survived a fight with him where there was magic explosions over the place, and that is what does her in? But hey, he’s using forbidden magic; maybe it was a super magical bullet. Or maybe the typical excuse in fiction of being caught off guard. Whatever.
But she’s not dead yet. So we leave her with Logan who… does something? We kill the bad guy and come back only to find she’s now going to die. I mean he’s supposed to be a Guardian of some sorts right with healing magic? Or at least I recall him using some of those skills. But he does diddly squat. He isn’t just some random scrublord. He’s friggen Logan Thackery.
And then we get what amounts to Dr. Mccoy in Star Trek going “He’s dead Jim”.
I know it’s a common joke in especially RPGs of “why not just use a phoenix down” but it was kind of a mood killer.
Also, I blame Logan.

So I came across this thread a while back where there were some complaints about visual effects possibly causing diziness: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Spoiler-Possible-Seizures-from-the-Story/first#post6496014
After finishing the content today, I must say that was quite distracting. I mean, I thought it was pretty cool, but it really did feel quite out of whack with the rest of the game— it felt rather strong even though I am used to seeing zergs shoot effects everywhere with all those flashing lights. (I do get forced to turn on LOD before it blinds me though)
Do take that into consideration for folks that may be more sensitive on the matter.
