Keep an eye out for festivals and special events. On the first few days, most things will sell at a premium so you can make a bit of gold from doing that. Near the end of them, they usually start getting cheaper and you can save a collection to sell later.
It’s very low effort. You really just have to be there at the right time.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I would focus on dailies and simply waiting a bit til your participation wanes. Otherwise just try to find other people and kill/cap as many things as you can. Just killing guards and taking camps will keep up the participation level.
Simply log off if it looks like it’s not possible once you get as many dailies as you can.
While technically not the fastest, it’s the most time efficient if you don’t want to play wvw. Also, consider using builds like Shadow Arts Daredevil, or a mobility tank druid to minimize any trouble.

Another problem is just redundancy. Stealth/breaking target is awesome, but do you really need 10 people doing it? So even in theory this guild needed a pocket druid celestial shadow or something of the sort, they’d probably only allow 1-2 to do that duty, and not place it at the hands of some random. Most of the mediums do not scale well as a result, and while warrior’s not in a good spot, they have banners which is hard to argue against.
On the other hand, you’d be hard pressed to answer why the group wouldn’t need another guardian or rev as they are pretty much universally useful.
The moment I hear someone just talk about how much they heal (and nothing else), I think it’s a good time to stop listening because there’s a lot more than that when it comes to keeping others up and running [read: cleanses]
And again, I am definitely not saying that you can’t be useful on whatever you play, but just understand that people have very good reasons for doing what they do. Of course, this doesn’t justify screaming at people for taking up their precious queue space, but I think this is another topic.

Well, laptop vs desktop is sort of apples vs oranges. The point of a laptop is portability so if you move around a lot, then naturally the laptop is going to be better even if it doesn’t have the power/reliability. You would want something that a desktop or a smaller mobile device can’t accomplish. And that’s play certain PC games such as Gw2 on the go.
Now obviously if you never move your PC, then a desktop is going to be better. But this is a matter of lifestyle, and honestly, I think that if you’re spending hundreds or not thousands of hours on the thing, then you might as well treat your eyes and hands well and get something that’s comfortable to use and doesn’t strain your eyes. Because it’s not like Gw2 is easy on the wrists…. :S

Put something else into the shared slot, or simply don’t buy them at all.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
Basically, it’s optional. Mostly for bragging rights.
This game doesn’t pressure anyone to have to participate in the hardest part of the game and for the most part they won’t be deprived of anything beyond content specific rewards. Because if there were vertical progression that meant a lot, then people would get excluded unless they participated. And even with the relatively flat gear curve, (~15%), there are many complaints already.
Ultimately the endgame is basically the freedom to shift between all the content, as well as future content.
However, I think that the game has someone faltered in the idea of “fashion wars”, which was a big part of progression— getting those nice skins. There are definitely a lot of ways of customization and it is good, but recently new looks have been largely restricted to mainly outfits that can’t be mixed or match in the gem store.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
(edited by ArchonWing.9480)
Why would you delete them? Just put something else in the shared inventory slot. Put them on each of your characters, unless you have more characters than kits; in that case leave 1-2 in the bank for swapping.
Sure it’s not as convenient as putting it in the slot, but you gain something else.

lol no point in all this debating. The Rx 470 is priced so that it could break and you could buy a new one or an Rx 670 or w/e they come up with in the future and you wouldn’t have spent much more than on a 1060. And it’s not like the later’s gonna play Gw2 any better. There’s just no way you can really lose. It’s not like the GPUs are going to explode your computer like bad power supplies can.

Was referring to OP, didn’t really note your post.
It’s just really ridiculous high CPU usage in cities, no matter what. I don’t lag so my CPU can handle it fine, but still can have some FPS drops in large crowds. So it’s quite difficult for the rather dated AMD CPU to keep up.
Just look up Gw2 “CPU bound” The hardware monitor goes down to 3% CPU use when Gw2 is closed, so really what?
I mean, it’s nice that it worked in your case, but the thing is it’s anecdotal and you can’t really explain why it worked beyond reinstalling Windows. For all we know, your computer had could have had malware (btw, everyone should scan if they haven’t), your Windows files were corrupted, or maybe it just happened to reset the graphics settings. Also note that OP said it was a Gw2 specific problem.
If you want my anecdote, I’ve consistently gained 10 fps across 4] systems just by lowering character model limit, reflections, shadows , and anti-aliasing. Nothing else beyond deleting some files ever did squat; including formatting/reinstalling.

It’s the CPU. AMD cpus don’t handle Gw2 because the crappy outdated engine won’t take advantage of all your cores and makes your CPU do stuff that the GPU could be doing.
And turn down the character model limit. Even better CPUs can’t handle that.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
So how is anyone supposed to know you do all this cool stuff? You’ll have to communicate it, or find someone that will listen.
And really, it’s nothing personal. It’s just that individual guilds or groups have their own priorities. You can’t just expect them to cater to you. So when the commander or whatever is managing 30-50 icons, there’s no reason why you, a single person, get preferential treatment off the bat.

If you only need to play Gw2, there’s no reason why a cheap Rx 460 or GTX 1050 for like $100 could hurt! They use little power as well. Do not “just get a card” as the ones that cost below, aka “entry level” are too weak (like the gt 730 which loses to some integrated graphics…). Since you don’t like AMD, then the 1050 is the winner and a smidgen faster. And don’t get the 1050ti because it’s about as expensive as the Rx 470 and not nearly as good
Personally, I recommend the Rx 470. Recommended it lately to a relative and it’s a good card. It’s still very well priced: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202230
Although I own a gtx 1060, I would admit that AMD cards are just better for value in the sub-300 price range.

Maybe a warning from me: I tried to get a refurbished laptop from Lenovo. The specs were awesome (i7, 8GB RAM, 512 SSD etc) but for the love of Dwayna, I couln’t get it to play GW2 smoothly. So if you get a refurbished one, make sure it is a recent laptop and not a geared-up model from 5+ years ago because there is “something” that keeps it from being just as fast as a modern system (still haven’t figured out what tbh).
Ah, yea I prefer new stuff because I don’t know where it’s been and considering even brand new stuff can end up DOA… Stuff suffers from wear and tear but more importantly the act of being shipped around is an issue. Because I know they do not handle it with care. >.> There’s a reason why computer companies ship their computers in what is basically armored boxes.
Did it have its own graphics card? Yes Gw2 doesn’t need a good graphics card but if we’re leaving the CPU to do all the work, then it definitely would be a problem in a game where every spare cycle counts.

The Acer e15 is a pretty good laptop, but I do have a bias due to previous bad experience with their support. 940m is a rather weak card too despite being dedicated though it seems Gw2 doesn’t mind too much. Lack of SSD is something of another problem but I’ve never installed things into a laptop so maybe that’s easy to deal with. (960m is a lot stronger so I figured I’d pull that out in case OP wants to play other games) Things may have changed in the past few years though. It’s also pretty well priced though yes I like to check on the budgets first.
Also, don’t forget to check the same product across multiple sites. Sometimes they charge more or less for no real reason; Newegg seems to be the most trustworthy.
Here’s a good example of the aformentioned e15 (there’s a newer version with a 7200u) now

Yea, the thing is ascended tends to be a bigger deal with power, so going condi (lol) is much more cost effective especially if you want to get some TB/viper weapons.
Though I think people should get weapons anyways since they’re not really that expensive (about 70g plus the one startup cost of 100g for reaching 500 from 0)
And yes, Threather.9354 brings up the point that celestial is poorly adjusted and the exotic version is terrible plus has time gates just like ascended. So that should be looked at.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
AMD is not a good choice atm, and chances are this laptop will struggle with many people on screen. Safer to go intel
Oh by the way. Before you buy a laptop, take a good look at how much it weighs; I’m not sure how much portability is a factor for you, but I think it’s quite nice to spend a bit more to get a lighter one. To me at least.
Also it really depends on how well you run Gw2 to run. Gw2 will run on almost anything new, but running well (on higher settings) is another matter. If you want a laptop with a graphics card and workable CPU for a laptop, be prepared to pay a pretty penny.
Also SSDs in a laptop are a thing at a premium, so don’t need to get a ginormous one if you’re really just playing Gw2 as that really jacks up the price. 256 GB is fine; if you really need storage space, I’d recommend just buying a external HD to store media and whatnot. You can get a 2tb one for less than $100 and I think they’re important for backups anyways. While I certainly would recommend an SSD for the sake of load times for games and Windows, your average video or song or document doesn’t need that sort of blazing speed.
While not recommending this laptop in particular, it may be a good idea to aim for similar specs. I’ll let you judge if it’s good enough:
This also seems to be a good pick: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834234023 The SSD is small but it also comes with a 750 GB storage HDD which I think is quite nice. The graphics card is pretty decent compared to the alternatives.

I’d also add that a lot of unsoloable content in maps tends to draw more than a few complaints, so it’s pretty clear a lot of people prefer soloing and yes, the game is sometimes adjusted to suit them as well.
Examples include various enemies near hero points being downgraded from champions.

- Liquid cooling (lol) for that processor is overkill.
On that note (noticing the number of “cool” choices for closed liquid cooling… I would never recommend them to anyone thats not hardcore into computers… and even then its meh. Twice as costly, noisy pumps, the fans are usually kitten and the cooling capabilities equal a good air cooler which is 100x simpler to handle with custom fans, especially if you want a silent PC (water cooling =! silent).
…. and it’s a pretty cheap cooler too. Plus the chances of leaking. But it looks cool! I think that’s the only real reason.
Unfortunately they didn’t seem to offer an air cooling solution for whatever reason. I’m guessing it’s to sell for higher prices.
I was just appalled they’d put the cooler such a crappy CPU though selling it for that much even for prebuilt standards was certainly worth an intervention! Unless that CPU really heats up….
I just built a rather affordable system with an i5-6600k, ASUS Z170-AR motherboard, 16gb ram, SSDs, and it works great with GW2. I have my eye on an RX-470 video card, but even the built-in Intel graphics work much better than my old AMD-based system. I do games like GW2 and Civilization 6, nothing too terribly intensive. Boosts instantly, works great.
That’s pretty much the perfect system for someone that wants to play Gw2 and maybe dabble into other games. The unlocked i5 is pretty much the best thing for this game. As you noted, even the onboard graphics will beat a comp using an AMD CPU; silly CPU bound games. ;;
The RX 470 has some really good deals. My relative just got one for 159, and now there’s a bit of regret because apparently it’s getting cheaper (along with the 480). But the card is good and that’s all that matters.
Yes, I am aware that people with older computers often say the only game that really needs a computer is Gw2 but I think things will change once they actually get a new piece of hardware that opens up possibilities. I’m one of them.

Yes, the shared slot is yours to use after you consume the level 80 boost.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
As a general bit of advice, you definitely want to look a bit around for stuff as deals pop up every day.
I wouldn’t buy that particular computer either. It’s terrible.
- It’s using an AMD processor and not a good one; AMD CPUs haven’t been relevant for a long time. (Might change soon!). This is disastrous for Gw2 which is CPU heavy. Go for Intel Core atm. They should be under the name of I3/i5/i7, with the 6xxx or 7xxx numbers.
- Ram. If the most intensive thing you’re doing is Gw2, I would settle for 8GB. Personally, I’ve never even gotten close to 8gb of usage even when recording this game, but if you want to play new games, or run like intensive things in the background all the time, then you can consider 16 GB. If you don’t know why you need more ram, then 8 is fine.
- Liquid cooling (lol) for that processor is overkill.
- And of course, it uses some no-name power supply. Coming from someone that has had a PSU blow up next to him, a no-name power supply is a big nono
- Full Size Towers aren’t really necessary though yes bigger cases have their benefits with cooling and are easier to work with, but most users will do fine with a mid-tower.
Sticking with the site, this is a better choice:
http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Intel-Z170-Core-i5-Configurator/W/369310
Weirdly enough, it comes with a overpriced motherboard, but the one with the proper motherboard costs a lot more, so I guess it’s on sale so who really cares. :p The i5 processor will serve your needs well.
This is what I did
(Wow, their site is such a pain to navigate)
- Increase the graphics card to a RX 480. Hey, the upgrade is free! EIther 470 or 480 are good cards and way more than enough to handle matters. The Nvidia counterparts are the GTX 1060 3gb, and the 1060 6gb, but since the RX 480 is so much cheaper, it’s a no-brainer.
- Better Power supply (yikes these choices still kinda suck). The PSU is overkill but at least it’s a good one, can also cheap out a bit by getting the corsair CX but it’s really not that good— had one for 4 years, didn’t explode at least.
- And yes, SSDs are godsends for this game. They help with loading and Windows starts in seconds. For most casual users, I see SSDs being the biggest impact on day to day tasks. Do you sometimes not want to shut down your computer because you don’t want to wait for it to boot back up? With an SSD, that excuse is gone— just turn it off and save power.
I’d just get the 240gb +1 TB HDD myself. If you want more storage space, that’s fine too. You don’t need a gigantic SSD either. Use the hard drive for storing big files, and Windows/Guild Wars 2 and whatever other programs you use should be on the SSD. that is okay, but I think external HDs are fine for that sort of thing.
- You get a free upgrade to 16gb of ram, so take it.
- Normally I would have picked the i5-6500/7500 but it’s giving an upgrade to the 7600k for not much more…. and we can’t unpick the z170 motherboard and the liquid cooling. So….
That adds up to $1167. For +241 you could get a GTX 1070, but that’s not going to benefit Gw2.
Note that you could get by on much less; you can reduce the graphics card to an rx 460/gtx 1050. It’s also possible to get an i3 CPU too, but that might actually hurt things (still manageable) Could probaly stick with the CX PSU then.
I’m not spending time time to sift through the site to find the best stuff, but hopefully that should give you an idea on what’s good.
Edit: It doesn’t come with an OS…. yikes. I added it in, and that puts the price up to 1167!
Anyhow, I had a pretty good experience thus far with Digital Storm, might want to give that a look; level 1 is really all you need (well, get a bigger SSD for a bit more), but you can definitely go for more: http://www.digitalstorm.com/vanquish-5.asp

Yes, unfortunately you have to manually swap the tools if you want to move them.
With shared slots, I tend to get higher quality tools for the placeholder ones for easy swap because sometimes I will forget to swap and fail to gather with the unlimited tool. ATM, I’m putting in the unbound harvesting tools so I get something when I screw up at least.

If you mean solo as in completely alone, then most exploration based content will be soloable, but most of the challenging and more interesting content needs groups.
If you simply mean you want to work as a solo entity without regular help from friends or guildmates or other familiar faces, and you don’t mind working with random passerbys, then this game is pretty much designed for that kind of thing besides high end pve content. You really don’t actually have to communicate with anyone though it’s generally preferred.

Final Salvo synergizes with both traits fairly well. One is more sustain and the other is might, but might tends to be much easier to go for in groups. Personally, I think Mass Momentum’s value comes more from the additional power.

I’d ditch the signet. It heals people for 1600 health…. every 10 seconds. In WvW, you’re infinitely better off with renewed focus for the virtue spam/refresh which can negate damage and serve as a burst heal. In PvE, you’re almost always better off sporting Feel My Wrath for the group utility.
Also for a WvW context, I’d get my health myself as condis are overwhelmingly prevalent. So some celestial would help. You also have no defense against CC. I’d replace radiance with DH myself.

It’s not feasible these days to put the most updated and complete game on a disc; especially with a game that keeps getting updated. I don’t think that’s a reasonable request of any game for the past 20 years— I mean they can’t just take the disc out of the box and update it every time the game gets updated. This isn’t 1995 when all the games pretty much came as is. Heck even Brood War when the online installer is used, only has the 2nd most recent patch and that’s a 20 year old game/

Yes, thats what happens when companies like Microsoft,Apple focusing on technology too much. This is one of the reasons I didn’t upgraded to Windows 10 because Windows 7 is a working and successful OS.

7? RIP XP 2 OS’s too good for their own good, and yes I find the underhanded methods to kill 7 to be disgusting because it’s really a case of forcing a need when it’s dubious you need one. And yes, Windows 10 has been good to me and I think it’s better, but that doesn’t change matters.

The biggest reason was that while trying to get the mapping title (WvW), people kept killing me. Even if I wrote in chat “just mapping”, I was a target.
Enemies can’t see your chat.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I think there’s something that’s missing from the topic and it’s not necessarily a matter of wanting to fight other players or NPCs or whatnot, though that’s certainly an issue. EOTM is very popular, and a destination for many pvers looking to get achievements or WvW related things, but a lot of these people won’t go into WvW. Well, I think the fact that many don’t take it as seriously tends to be a factor.
For example, I WvW a lot but I don’t care for PvP much. But I don’t care for PvP not because I don’t like killing other players (in reality, I actually do); it’s due to the same reasons why I don’t care for high end pve content— it’s a time commitment you have to spend with a small group of strangers and I think that can bring problems.
In PvE or WvW, you can pretty much come and leave as you please. You can decide to leave if you find the people on your map notcooperative or if you find yourself unable to work with them. Sure, you can abandon a dungeon or PvP, but you’re screwing up the game for 4-9 other people, and that’s undesirable.
And there’s definitely the advantage to the anonymous crowd which is why I think Anet made a good choice when they had anonymous enemies in WvW. The people that wanted to stick out found ways in the end as well. And of course, these venues allow for huge crowds, which to many of us puts the M in MMO.
Finally, there’s also times when I’d rather act on my own as well as opposed to playing with a team.

I don’t get how it’s a difficult thing. Healing does add to tag credit now. http://dulfy.net/2016/01/26/gw2-jan-26-game-update-patch-notes/
Supporting your allies will now contribute toward earning rewards for killing enemies and damaging event bosses. The actions listed below now cause a percentage of the target ally’s damage dealt for the next several seconds to also count toward your participation. In addition to that, damaging an enemy’s defiance bar will also grant you some participation toward receiving rewards from that enemy. In order to discourage AFKing with boon-applying auras, you must still be actively attacking targets to receive rewards from them.
Applying boons to an ally (small percentage).
Removing conditions from an ally (small percentage).
Reviving an ally (large percentage).
Healing an ally (percentage scales based on how much healing is given).
There’s fights where I stay in water/earth as staff ele and it doesn’t effect the bag count since even in that mode there’s some offensive skills in water/earth.
And it’s not hard to add damage as a healer; Mix in some crusaders/zealots and fix the dodge key. Even in “heal mode” most builds have someone to do damage, such as druids can use CA 5 and the utility skills still work too. With sigil of draining, CA 3 can be an offensive skill too. There are many, many ways to do damage even with low power. (Think of sources with flat damage)

But I really like how everyone was rendered.

Shredder Gyro is terrible. Replace it with either Elixir B, C, or Elixir Gun. These are like better than shredder gyro even if it had kitten cooldown.
Take Iron Blooded; HGH isn’t really helping you much, if at all. You can easily maintain a few boons on your own— in group fights, that’s a lot of damage reduction.
Take Kinetic Battery; no point in overkilling on endurance— endurance bonuses don’t stack and tools already gives you so much. Same goes for invigorating speed. If you’re building a build around toolbelt skills, then you want this trait. Being able to double cast super speed, the reflect dome, or toss elixir b can and will change fights for the whole group.
Get some Marauder/zerker weapons.
Elixir X is alright for trolling in huge fights due to the toss ability, but not in a build like this. In fights less than a dozen, all you really do is put a giant “kick me” sign on yourself. Stealth Gyro provides tons more utility, and when you’re taking Final Salvo, it’s a mistake not to take it.
I don’t really think it’s possible to fight any kind of non-zerg fight as a “bruiser” without condi-removal; without inventions, you have to take either healing turret or adaptive armor. With the popularity of epidemic, even in larger fights going in anything in front with no condi removal I think it’s downright irresponsible. But since final salvo is so crucial, I think medic gyro has to go.
- Some Condi Removal/resilence
- Lots of damage reduction
- Durability runes = help the group
- Superspeed/swiftness heals you
- Spam the Bypass Coating as needed.
- Counter-stealth/stealth/ninja stomp/run away
- Bring a rev friend and be happy.
For a more balanced build, with more purity of purpose /gag, take inventions instead of tools and take medical dispersion field. Inventions offers a little condi clear which means medic gyro can be a thing.

For this reason, I’ll salvage even if the rare item sells for a bit more.
The biggest advantage is of course, time, where selling a stack of ectos is faster than selling 200 rares individually. Selling is really for those folks who need gold asap. A string of 100 bad RNG rolls would be like 20 gold; most established players aren’t going to need 20 gold right now but a player without so much gold might not appreciate the swing.

That was my opinion on the matter.

My hunch is that there’s nothing you can do.
“Skill lag” , where your skills have a delay in going off, is a internet connection issue and if the problem is server side and your internet is working fine, nothing can be done in game. You could try troubleshooting your own internet, of course; make sure there’s no pesky malware increasing your network activity.
If you suffer from stuttering, slideshows, or low fps, you can try turning down reflections, LOD distance, shadows, and character model quantity. Also, turn on LOD effects. I feel one should do that anyways because too many effects gets blinding in big fights.
Beyond that, I really doubt turning down anything else will help besides make everything look uglier with no gain, considering you already have a strong processor and I imagine you’d probably have a good enough video card to go along with that.

I personally have it set to this: http://i.imgur.com/ICG2DEt.png
This is on a i5-6500, which is much weaker than your OC’d CPU.
Note that I have an old 1680 × 1050 monitor so higher resolution needs more power. It can drop to 30-40 fps but it never gets to slideshow level like it would on my old computer. Reducing the settings had no gain whatsoever.

I’ve completely lost interest ever since that “purity of purpose” slap in the face.
I still can’t believe it happened. 1200 hours and almost 3 years (my 2nd most played class) with my engineer, and it’s feeling like rock bottom.

I didn’t even think of the consumables!

Seems to me that all of yall are actually having fun just being able to stack servers. Then completely carelessly kill your enemies by out blobbing them down, with effort or expectation of counter play. So again yes you will absolutely hate ESO. Skill, gear, and tactics, win against numbers in ESO. You have been warned not to try this game. But if you do just get ready for that one to 4 month Champion Point system grind, get ready for the month of gear grinding, get ready for that looking a guides time to optimize your skills and builds, just to begin to compete with some of the more dedicated PvPers of ESO. ZOS is making the game more and more of, your carefree skill-less numbers will not save you type of game.
It actually took about a year to ding 50 on my first character in DAOC
And let me not start about crafting thereSounds like your dedication and skill means something in these other games. GW2 is practically handing out everything for free, there’s no sense of…..difficulty?
You can always try l2p in gw2 or go play games where gear give you advantage.
But gear does give you an advantage in GW2, a big one in some cases, and GW2 is pretty much the least skillful mmo around.
Isn’t it like a 10-15% boost or something in stats if you run full ascended crap? I still run exotics, I just don’t care enough to win anymore lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3xd0ex/ascended_vs_exotic_updated/
It’s a good 12% which does matter. However this is full ascended vs full exotic; getting ascended trinkets is really easy.
It’s 2% between Exotic Armor + ascended everything else vs full ascended. And armor is the most expensive part. So the QQ over it is pretty overblown but the weapons/trinkets do matter a bit in practice. Honestly, food probably matters more.
Now if we’re talking about certain stats …..

Should be able to craft boosters if you ask me.

I’d actually feel better about going into lower level zones if I’d stop getting greens and below that were below level 80.
That’s how it was at launch. A lot of people asked for (and ANet agreed) that it would be better if at least some of the rewards were consistent with the zone’s level.
I’m aware of the history of it. After the occasional but heavy-handed pokes some of our materials have gotten, it might be time to revert that change. The RNG in LS3 zones are still giving out random tiers, and the LS3-RNG scraps aren’t providing enough either.
The only real problem is leather:
https://www.gw2bltc.com/en/item/46739-Elonian-Leather-SquareI have even less T4 leather than I do linen. Random drops in level-appropriate zones aren’t providing enough because a good number of them end up being L80 and the LS3-RNG scraps aren’t providing enough either.
Which lower levels won’t have a problem with. Of course they’re not going to drop for you.
The last few times I leveled normally, I salvaged things nonstop and stockpiled a bunch of linen, wool, etc. At some points I would be selling green armor for 7s a pop. Easily enough to self-gear the character. It’s why the system works as it does.
If you want stuff from LS3, you can also spend your unbound magic on these:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic-Warped_Packet
or
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic-Warped_Bundle
Sell materials and buy what you need.
You can get unbound magic by consuming winterberries too.
And thinking of it from a lowbie point of view, if those materials are so scarce, a crafter can’t afford to sell those materials anyway. Sure, my first level 40 thief/leatherworker could sell his materials, but what’s he going to actually advance his crafting with?
Read above.
They don’t need to craft at all. Just save up gold from selling materials and buy equipment
Re: Buy gear and Mystic Forge: It’s a plausible, if irritating workaround.
Well, consider that’s the reason why it’s profitable. People don’t want to do it, leaving the people that do.
