My thoughts? I’m sick of hearing about the trinity. If players want that, they can return to Warcraft. Please don’t bring that tragedy to Guild Wars 2.

Hasn’t the 10 year anniversary been and gone?

Sure enough, but some are still claiming August as the ‘date’ . . . if you can believe that. After that passes, they’ll say next year for the 11th.

In other words: no one knows.

You won’t have to spend anything to try it out in the future. Just wait for the Open Betas to happen in the months ahead. Then you should get a good look at the expansion and decide.

What Ashen said and quoted. It was one of the selling points when Guild Wars 2 first came out.

Hopefully not soon given the amount of bugs and other issues testers have seen so far. I’d rather wait and pay for a polished product. Not pay for a half-baked one, plagued with issues, and in need of a million patches and updates.

Given that I’ve heard nothing but nonstop complaining about this class in-game, they better fix this mess before it goes lives being that it’s one of the expansion’s selling points.

Realistically, clever rangers could use it three times to save themselves from a downstate. Also, since there are now more passive ways to remove conditions, using the Big Spirit for that seems moot. But, if I had to guess, the change came because opposing players kittened because they couldn’t kill the ranger who knew how to use the Big Spirit.

And yes, they were too stupid to kill it.

Even so, I still use it as my ‘Oh kitten’ button when myself or others are in danger of dying. The other options, especially in PvP, aren’t that spectacular for my build.

Again, careful what you ask them to fix or change . . . you may just get it.

I must admit, I do like the old Lion’s Arch more. Had more personality and feel to it. The new one, while pretty, does have this over-sized playground feel to it as Surudo says.

And, again, I really do miss the old fountain. It was genius.

More pets or pets specialization: a way to trade pet skills to make the pet I want.

Again, it’s about promotion . . . or lack thereof. No one in their right mind is going to say ANet’s doing a grand job promoting this expansion. The pre-order fiasco bears this out.

Right now, it feels more damage control more than anything.

I’m so tempted to make a snarky comment given my experiences with the last thread that shared this name.

They might be more massive healing than anything. Like I said, healing/condition. No idea, to be fair, since I don’t have or play a guardian. But they do tend to give me issues.

First off, I’d be very leery of buying a ‘box’ version from a third party seller since it’s my understanding there is no box set with the expansion.

Second, I wouldn’t ask for a refund given what you want. I believe the contract only applies to the pre-purchase agreement with ANet and only ANet.

Maybe. Depends on if the druid is a bang or a bust.

Not at all. In PvP, the only classes I worry about are heavy-healing and condition guardians, and heavy HP/draining necromancers. The others have no chance of killing me. It might take a while to kill the other classes, but I do it.

In PvE? Let’s not even discuss it. I don’t need a nerf, thank you.

I think, to be fair, it’s a question of skill, traits, and gear. So, honestly, your mileage may vary.

It’s a fair question. Given that Sims 4 did release a very unfinished product and then promised to “finish” the software with patches over the following months . . . well. Let’s just say the community voiced their displeasure with their wallets and reviews.

But, to be fair, I doubt ANet will entertain such a notion given the recent pre-order fiasco.

Time will tell.

After what happened with Healing Spring, I really don’t want ANet to touch Guard.

Man, I used to love Healing Spring too. But, as Archon said, it and Troll Unguent are useless and can’t compare to Heal As One.

I can’t wait to hear and watch some of the YouTube reviews. Hopefully, it’ll help some on the fence about buying the expansion.

Regardless, I do agree about the lack of hype. But, the common belief among some is that the lack of hype is because there’s a lack of content to hype about. We’re not talking Guild Halls and other fluff, but the actual stuff and the amount the community will be playing in the future.

At this point, we don’t even know the exact number of maps. But, again, I do agree the public relations, as far as promotion, is lacking.

And the thing is it’s not as if people will come back to gw2 just because it’s there. There are so many other games out and coming out soon, that a game people have already tried, and played, and left has to be even more enticing than everything else out there. I think it’d be far easier to just keep people interested and invested, even if it’s just checking in every week to read something new about the expansion, than losing people and trying to get them back later.

You’d think ANet would realize that. Maybe they do. Who knows? Either way, it’s pretty obvious they’re bleeding players left and right. Sad situation, since I really like this game, but the lack of information is just sad.

I hope that’s not telling about the level of content coming, but I get the feeling it is.

Guess we’ll see.

The ‘double fractal’ thread is pretty deep, but I know it was pages and pages long with complaints. More than a few more have popped up over the months since it started. I’ll see if I can find the original.

What more we are receiving incomplete? There is even a rumor that we are not even taking mordremoth down, only coming in future releases.

It’s my understanding that the expansion will act as a gateway to further Living Story content. So, in that regard, no the expansion will not be ‘complete’ per se. We can’t even be sure that killing Mordy is included, as you noted, because there’s been little to nothing about the content itself.

We just don’t know . . . which is bewildering to the community . . . but also another topic.

As someone who has been an inveterate beta tester, I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t really care to beta test anymore. Too many experiences of writing bug reports only to see the bug still there when live were one nail in the coffin. The other nail was losing value, in the form of replay time, on a purchase — which led me to only want to beta games I was less interested in — which is its own problem.

I find I have zero interest in beta testing HoT. At this point, I’m not sure whether that means I’m looking forward to it going live, or just don’t care. I guess I’ll make up my mind on that when I know if HoT warrants the expenditure.

Sad, but I’m in the same boat. I also have zero interest in beta testing the expansion. The hype train is definitely off the rails. Your post pretty much covers my own opinion on the matter.

They do feel the same. And many, many, many threads have been made about that double fractal nonsense. In fact, it helped to spawn many Daily Achievement rooms in PvP.

Honestly, Guild Wars 2 has one of the best communities—if not the best community—I’ve ever encountered in any MMO. That’s not to say you won’t encounter a fair share of idiots. But that’s what block is for.

Feed those fools silence and move on.

I’m absolutely loving how people are either not reading the post, and commenting, or not watching the video . . . and commenting . . . and Wooden actually addresses their comments and concern about that very issue . . . in-depth.

Anyway . . . back to the actual topic . . . I was under the impression dungeons had ‘heroic’ modes now. Is that content not hard enough? Also, in majority, most players tend not to like dungeons in Guild Wars 2.

In fact, I remember something of a petition to have the content made easier and soloable overall.

But, I’m sure, someone else will love harder content. Yet, again, every time we see it, especially in Living Story, the forums ignited in flames from complaints.

Just something to consider.

Your experiences are more of an ‘Anonymous Internet Trolls’ situation than the actual community. That said, this thread isn’t helping and will draw more to you like moths to the flames.

The community also knows a rage thread when we read one, and I think it in your best interest if you ask a moderator to lock and/or delete it.
