Or you could just have a 2nd set with…any other weapon?…Staff, Dagger, Axe, the lot, all do enough damage to take an ele out of 90%. 10% of an ele’s health is like, not even 2k.
Charr.
The sheer amount of individuality you can have is excellent. Ive never, ever looked at a Charr player, and thought “Oh, he looks like X person’s character.”
and they have the only unique body-type in the game. All the other races are straight up humanoid, whereas Charr has a slightly different look.
I don’t think Rox’s thing with Braham is a romantic thing she has for him, I think its more shes overprotective of him because shes scared of losing him. Her entire warband died, so I think she has issues about being abandoned, or team mates dying, which is why she obsesses over making sure Braham’s injuries are healing properly.
I don’t really think its that noticeable…
What more annoys me is the clipping on trousers and boots. THAT is noticeable.
There…is no way…I built a condition Mesmer build for my friend…I have never beaten it.
Realistically, you would probably want a profession that has a lot of AOE, so you don’t need much precise clicking.
Elementalist – A lot of AOE on the staff, however, it is very glassy and requires a lot of dodging. May not be the best choice.
Ranger – Some AOE, long-range, so you don’t require dodging a lot, and rangers have a few Traits that mean you do more damage the less you dodge, may be useful.
Warrior – Warrior’s weapons have the “Cleave” effect, which means they will pass through enemies, and still hit without being targeted, so you don’t need to click at all.
Mesmer – Mesmers have the ability to summon illusions to battle for them, and can be heavily augmented using traits, so a lot of the time, they can do the majority of the battling for you. All you have to do, is summon them and go, some of them are AOE as well, so even less specific clicking is required.
Necromancer – as mentioned by many other people, Necromancers have a lot of AOE on their staff, as well as their minions, but they also have a set of skills named “Wells”. These are heavy damage, large AOE attacks. I use these myself, and I can hit, and even kill up to a dozen enemies at once using these, in 2 clicks. Necromancer is also extremely defensive, and can survive a lot before dying, even without dodging.
Professions I would NOT recommend are Guardian, Engineer and Thief. All 3 of these require very specific movements, or a lot of precision to play. As for the ones I mentioned above, I believe Necromancer or Warrior may be the best suited professions for you, due to their very high defence and vitality, and broad attacking capability.
Confusion is balanced enough at the moment. Lets not break it by making it overpowered with something like this.
Or you could just dodge/evade/run/block/blind/interrupt/knockback/knockdown/etc/etc
It is balanced. It is probably THE slowest moving projectile in the game, and it hits accordingly. Because its a slow projectile, you may pick any of the above, and utilize them in the time the claw is coming towards you. If your quick, you might even have time to order a pizza.
Yes. .-. Why?
Its probably to stop people savoring buffs after they’re supposed to run out.
“Axe is long range power weapon.” Get out of my house. Axe is only 600 range. Anyone got any ideas for long-range power-oriented weapons? Beacuse staff is a feather duster, and leans towards condi.
Hammer – Could shoot out bursts of energy with each swing?
Mace – Same concept?
I would say Greatsword also, but normal bladed weapons like Swords and Greatsword doesn’t suit Necromancer very much.
Medium armor looks worse on Charr.
Is magical ability/affinity hereditary? For example, if two parents are elementalists, would the child be more likely to be a more powerful elementalist, as opposed to if they chose to become a mesmer for example?
Or if the parent specialized in a specific form of magic, would the child have an easier time learning it or being able to use it?
I think pulling Lavia into this might be a bit loose, and hard to prove, considering the last time she appeared was over 250 years ago, so if she is still alive, she is prolonging her life with magic.
But otherwise, I think they’ve predicted the sequence of events perfectly. I had the same thought process. As soon as Belinda said shes going to Brisban Wildlands, I immediately thought “Brisban Wildlands. Very near Mordremoth and The Bloodstone. Oh dear.”
Not very often you see Flame Legion characters. I don’t have any myself, but it must make for interesting story and RP.
I only have a warrior who was taken from the Flame Citadel as a cub, and raised within The Black Citadel, so I don’t think he really counts. :L
True. In fact, the only character I find interesting is Liadri, she apear to be a quite powerfull mesmer (like some other high ranking humans) and have the potential to get some interesting lore.
In my opinion, I think Liadri is a Necromancer rather then a Mesmer, due to the fact she uses an enhanced version of the Death Shroud, and the Necrotic Grasp skill (Staff #1). and darkness is an concept mostly associated with Necromancers, however I do see it associated with Mesmers from time to time. But I would also like to know her lore, or at least have something to speculate on. She can easily be labeled as one of the most powerful people in the Guild Wars universe, so i’m hoping she isn’t just a faceless character.
As for Suriel, the fact she comes from Orr, may indicate her magic some how allows her to prolong her lifespan, so she may be hundreds of years old, from when Orr was still a thriving civilization. The fact her magic is very unique also indicates it could possibly be a lost form of magic, in that she uses the Book of Wrath, a Guardian elite skill, with a forcefield, similar to the Mesmer’s Chaos Armour skill.
What I really want to know, is why do they use magic that generates it’s own weakness, in the form of the voids formed by Suriel and Liadri’s magic, which shatters Suriel’s forcefield, and generates the light crystals to break Liadri’s Death Shroud. The fact their magic does generate its own weakness may be the reason why they are battling inside the Gauntlet, a controlled environment, rather then outside, where they may be easily killed.
I think it has to do with Lion’s Arch rebuilding
Oh, I never thought about that, actually. : o Especially since LA has been pretty quiet, but thats a good point.
Are the Phoenix weapons a reference to Conchita Wurst?
For those who don’t know, Conchita Wurst is the winner of Eurovision 2014, which happened on 10th May 2014, in which she won with a song named “Rise Like a Phoenix”.
I thought it was a big coincidence, in that they came up in the same month as Rise Like a Phoenix winning Eurovision.
Charr.
What are Sylvari? Radish, cabbage, lettace, maybe parsnip? Nope. Just Sylvari.
What are Norn? Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic? Nope. Norn.
Not hugely tempted myself. :/
Red does not go with silver, under any circumstance. It is sinful. and the weapons don’t suit any of my characters.
Black Citadel was magical. I need that back in my life.
I think Mesmer benefits from Celestial gear the most, beacuse Mesmers are only in the middle tier of base health, so they need vitality investment, and then they need toughness investment, so they do not die immediately, then they need power+prec+ferocity for damage, and a little bit of condition damage is nice beacuse they inflict a lot of bleeding and confusion without even being on a condi build.
I think Elementalist can benefit from it as well, but they are very squishy, and are in the lowest tier of base health, with only 10,805HP base health are level 80, so I feel they need something a bit more specialized, either damage so they can kill the opponent before they get killed, or defence to tank for a little bit.
Obviously other professions can benefit from it, namely the other middle-tier health professions (Ranger and Engineer) and maybe Guardian, but I don’t think it would be worth putting it on something like Warrior or Necromancer, beacuse they have very high defence and health by default, so there is a lot more room to invest into offence.

The thing I love about this game, is that you can discuss pretty much anything, and the majority of the community take it in a mature manor, or they leave. If you start censoring stuff, you start killing the humor in a game.
Noob is only a contraction for “new player”. If you want to censor that, we might as well censor “vet” as a contraction for “veteran player”.
I would say “No offense”, but it seems you get offended over the simplest of things, so I wont bother, but you really need a spine. Banter happens on the internet the same as anywhere else.
Or you could just get weapons for all of your characters, then paste the legendary skin on to the weapon with a Transmutation Charge. Legendary skins for all, at no extra cost.
Considering the majority of Charr are well-hardened soldiers, one would think they wouldn’t contract Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but could it happen to one who’s warband has died, seen their mate/cub killed, etc.
All the Charr who are unable to battle or aren’t skilled enough are often hauled into non-combat roles like farming, or are asked to become a Primus (Fahrar teacher), so there could be some hidden around the place that have PTSD, surely all of them can’t be soldiers who just took a bullet to the knee.
Anyone got any information or record of a Charr with PTSD-like features?

Because you cant be bothered to include condi removal in your builds.

You’re welcome.
Considering a Centurion controls multiple warbands, depending on the context of the mission, and who will be required, would different warbands from other high legions be added to the company?
Obviously each Centurion themselves has their own association to a particular legion, but for example, would a Blood Centurion, sometimes call upon Iron or Ash warbands to join the company, for example if they needed more war-machines for a particular task, or scouts and discreet attacks?
Im wondering, beacuse in a lot of areas where the legions actively battle (The brand, Fireheart Rise, etc.). I see soldiers of different legions floating around together.
Well: Well of Consumption: Pulses every second for 5 seconds. Deal damage and gain life force for every pulse. 60 second cooldown
Corruption: Necrotic Festering: Torment yourself, inflict conditions to your target depending on what boons you have. (EG: If you have regeneration, you will inflict bleeding on your target.) (90 second cooldown)
Spectral: Spectral Reversal: When hit, convert life force into HP (10 second duration). (90 second cooldown) (Not removed when entering Death Shroud, so it can be stacked with Unholy Sanctuary trait.
)
I was thinking about creating a Tumblr account specifically centered around GW2 fan fiction, but would I need to literally plaster the walls in copyright disclaimers? Ive looked round a few GW2 themed fanfic blogs on Tumblr, and don’t see any copyright information, but I thought I would ask, just in case.

One of my friends done this, her Ranger is a flamboyant male human who is homeless in Divinity’s Reach, and works at a club, spending his free time at boutiques, trying out new clothes.
I think human would work better for what you going for, beacuse they have a big city, with lots of utility for stuff like boutiques, parlors and overall glamour.
Try to describe him as “Flamboyant” though, rather then “Gay”. Im homosexual myself, and I don’t get offended over stereotypes like that, but a lot of people would get hugely offended over it. When your dealing with a topic like that, your always going to offend a group of people, so its just better to avoid it.
Rytlock’s sword is the authentic Sohothin.
If you do Ascalon Story Mode, Rytlock accompanies you, and in a cutscene, King Adleburn senses Sohothin’s presence, mistaking him for Rurik. If Rytlock’s sword was one of the many fakes, Adleburn wouldn’t have sensed it.
On a side note, while in the dungeon, Eir retrieves Magdaer from Adleburn, but its broken, so she says she’ll take it to a blacksmith to repair it. So some random blacksmith has Magdaer now.
Is anyone aware of a calculator that has been updated, or when the big ones like GW2Buildcraft and GW2Skills will be updated?
Bit much, asking if they’ve been done this quickly, but im too lazy to calculate a new build with stats by hand.
This update is now 20 hours late.
and yes, I converted the timezones, it is still 20 hours late.
I would like to see new areas, which we’ll mostly definitely get in Magus Falls/Maguuma Wastes, depending on where Modremoth is stationed. (Im assuming Mordremoth is the next dragon we face, considering Jory’s sister goes out to Brisban Wildlands at the end of The Dead End LS Instance)
I’d like to see at least 1 new dungeon in these areas though.
Guild Wars 2: Fun at the Funeral with Mordremoth, Bubbles, and Jennah’s Cat.
-DRAGONS
-Jennah’s Cat, Shadow, is in fact the mastermind behind Scarlet, and has held Jennah hostage in her en-suite bathroom, and is trying to conjure Mordremoth. Tyrians are now forced to stop this imminent threat or face extinction
-Bubbles is still out to lunch
-Kralkatorrik, Primordus and Jormag are still deciding how Zhaitan’s bank account should be split between them.
-Level 500 Chef update: Use Sylvari as spices to make OP new consumables!
-Scarlet had house insurance on The Breechmaker, Ellen Kiel needs the player character’s help to pay off the debt.
-Mordremoth wakes up and still has a hangover from the last elder dragon awakening.

Is this Craigslist or something?
The upper chest piece looks a lot like the Heritage armour, assuming you have it, and the drape that goes across the waist area with a load of knives in it looks similar to the T3 Human Cultural armour.
Warrior or Necromancer seems like it would suit you.
Warrior are generally popular for dungeons, and have a lot of AOE, considering they have the “Cleave” function, which means the swings of their weapons will hurt any mob it touches, even if they aren’t targeted, as well as their actual AOE abilities, like offhand Axe and Longbow, although Warrior might be a bit too easy if your looking for something a bit in the middle.
Or Necromancer. Necromancer can be very good in dungeons due to its high damage output as well as very high vitality and defencive capability. Most people say that anything other condition necromancer is broken, but its lies, beacuse I run power necromancer, and I think it does more sustained damage then greatsword warrior. Necromancer also has a load of AOE in their “Wells” utility skills. Necromancer also has Death Shroud as their profession-unique ability, which can be used for defensive or offensive use, depending on how you trait it.
Both of these professions have high damage outputs, and even higher defence. Both Warrior and Necromancer share the highest base HP in the game of 18,372 HP at level 80, so you can focus more into boosting your damage to have a very balanced character.
I’d say hes at least 30, possibly late-20s. By the way, while deciding the ages for my own Charr characters, I was able to look at a few characters, such as the charr heroes that are seen in the Memorial Quadrant of the Black Citadel and I figured out that the natural lifespan of a Charr is approximately 60 years, however most Charr die in battle or of their wounds long before then.
You say your playing as a theif, and there isn’t enough condition removal.
You have like, a dozen different evades and stealth, and you can have 3 dodges, as opposed to most other classes’ 2 if you go into the Acrobatics trait line. Just don’t get hit in the first place.
Or just learn to make builds properly, and include Condition Removal.
Or you could just learn to play the game instead of being a whiny fool. My Necromancer runs a hybrid of Zerk/Soldier, and I out-dps Zerker GS Warriors half the time.
Ascended for a lot of people is not worth it, full stop. I believe the ascended chestpieces give only 6 more stat points then the Exotic ones, and exotic looks better for a start, beacuse you can choose all the pretty different styles.
If you do ascended gears, it can take a minimum of 36 days to make it, due to the fact the stuff is time-gated, so keep that in mind, its also disgustingly expensive.
The ToS of the game state you must not share an account, and beacuse of how the game’s login system works, its very hard to use a GW2 account on more then one computer. I assume it would make you unpopular in the community as well, a lot of people dislike people who do this sort of thing, myself included.
Tell your brother to get his wallet out and pay the £25 for his own account, its hardly going to break his bank account.
Ok, ive just run the fix, and its still refusing to work.
EDIT: Oh my god, I got in for 5 minutes, and crashed. If I had a car, I would drive it into a tree, this is unbelievable. This is the worst executed update ive seen in a long, long time.
(edited by Argon.1563)
Im not sure what the issue is, beacuse mine is a variey of issues and they are all active/inactive at different times, so I cant figure out whats going on.
and ya, it crashed when I was trying to log into Mount Maelstrom, and it took about 5 attempts before getting in, then I went to Gendarran Fields, crashed, eternal loading screen, more crash, unable to get in.
EDIT: Ok, ive just tried to log in again, and im on the load screen for Gendarran, however, I can hear the “humming” sound that Waypoints make, so I know my character is present in the world, the load screen just needs to come down.
EDIT: Got in-game after about 15 minutes of loading screen, except its unresponsive, my character responds to movement, but I cant cast skills, interact with anything. I crashed shortly afterwards.
Moar EDIT: Considering its impossible to get feedback or help on this subject, im just going to run the Repair and see what happens, beacuse ive checked with other players, and they say they function fine.
(edited by Argon.1563)
Control Panel —→ Uninstall a program --→ GuildWars2
I am having every issue imaginable since the most recent update, and the game is on a very literal and real level, unplayable.
Ive had numerous crashes while trying to login. It can take extremely long periods of time for the game client to get to the login screen, and if I get to the character screen, I frequently crash when loading the map, and im not even loading LA.
I got to login once, so I tried going to Gendarran fields, but now im permanently stuck on the loading screen, and cant do anything, it just takes a ridiculous amount of time to eventually crash.
EDIT: Is this something to do with the DDOS atacks on ArenaNet? Just heard they’re getting DDOS’ed

Presumably, still in Orr, killing off the stragglers of Zhaitan’s army. and Trehearne’s Wyld Hunt is to see Orr cleansed, so he’ll probably stay there until its done.
